- おのれを 閉ざす 者は 自分の 欲望のままに 求め， すべてのすぐれた 知性と 仲たがいする．
- 愚かな 者は 英知を 喜ばない． ただ 自分の 意見だけを 表わす．
- 惡者が 來ると， 侮りも 來る． 恥とともに， そしりも 來る．
- 人の 口のことばは 深い 水のようだ． 知惠の 泉はわいて 流れる 川のようだ．
- 惡者をえこひいきすることはよくない． 正しい 者をさばきのときに 否むこともよくない．

- The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; The fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.
- To show partiality to the wicked is not good, Nor to thrust aside the righteous in judgment.
