창세기 30:1-30:43

 야곱은 라헬과 레아의 여종들까지 동원한 경쟁적 출산으로 열한 아들을 얻었다. 야곱은 라반에게 품삯을 요구하여 양들 중에서 아롱진 것, 점 있는 것, 얼룩 무늬 있는 것을 자신의 몫으로 정한 후 바라봄의 법칙을 사용하여 풍부한 소유를 갖게 되었다.
  
  레아와 라헬의 출산 경쟁(30:1-30:24)    
 
  1. ラケル は 自分が ヤコブ に 子を 産んでいないのを 見て， 姉を 嫉妬し， ヤコブ に 言った． 「私に 子どもを 下さい． でなければ， 私は 死んでしまいます． 」
  2. ヤコブ は ラケル に 怒りを 燃やして 言った． 「私が 神に 代わることができようか． おまえの 胎內に 子を 宿らせないのは 神なのだ． 」
  3. すると 彼女は 言った． 「では， 私のはしための ビルハ がいます． 彼女のところにはいり， 彼女が 私のひざの 上に 子を 産むようにしてください． そうすれば 私が 彼女によって 子どもの 母になれましょう． 」
  4. ラケル は 女奴隷 ビルハ を 彼に 妻として 與えたので， ヤコブ は 彼女のところにはいった．
  5. ビルハ はみごもり， ヤコブ に 男の 子を 産んだ．
  1. And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.
  2. And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
  3. And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.
  4. And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.
  5. And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.
  1. そこで ラケル は， 「神は 私をかばってくださり， 私の 聲を 聞き 入れて， 私に 男の 子を 賜わった． 」と 言った． それゆえ， その 子を ダン と 名づけた．
  2. ラケル の 女奴隷 ビルハ は， またみごもって， ヤコブ に 二番目の 男の 子を 産んだ．
  3. そこで ラケル は， 「私は 姉と 死に 物狂いの 爭いをして， ついに 勝った． 」と 言って， その 子を ナフタリ と 名づけた．
  4. さて レア は 自分が 子を 産まなくなったのを 見て， 彼女の 女奴隷 ジルパ をとって， ヤコブ に 妻として 與えた．
  5. レア の 女奴隷 ジルパ が ヤコブ に 男の 子を 産んだとき，
  1. And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.
  2. And Bilhah Rachel's maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.
  3. And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.
  4. When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife.
  5. And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a son.
  1. レア は， 「幸運が 來た． 」と 言って， その 子を ガド と 名づけた．
  2. レア の 女奴隷 ジルパ が ヤコブ に 二番目の 男の 子を 産んだとき，
  3. レア は， 「なんとしあわせなこと． 女たちは， 私をしあわせ 者と 呼ぶでしょう． 」と 言って， その 子を アシェル と 名づけた．
  4. さて， ルベン は 麥刈りのころ， 野に 出て 行って， 戀なすびを 見つけ， それを 自分の 母 レア のところに 持って 來た． すると ラケル は レア に， 「どうか， あなたの 息子の 戀なすびを 少し 私に 下さい． 」と 言った．
  5. レア は ラケル に 言った． 「あなたは 私の 夫を 取っても， まだ 足りないのですか． 私の 息子の 戀なすびもまた 取り 上げようとするのですか． 」 ラケル は 答えた． 「では， あなたの 息子の 戀なすびと 引き 替えに， 今夜， あの 人があなたといっしょに 寢ればいいでしょう． 」
  1. And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.
  2. And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a second son.
  3. And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.
  4. And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes.
  5. And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son's mandrakes.
  1. 夕方になって ヤコブ が 野から 歸って 來たとき， レア は 彼を 出迎えて 言った． 「私は， 私の 息子の 戀なすびで， あなたをようやく 手に 入れたのですから， 私のところに 來なければなりません． 」そこでその 夜， ヤコブ は レア と 寢た．
  2. 神は レア の 願いを 聞かれたので， 彼女はみごもって， ヤコブ に 五番目の 男の 子を 産んだ．
  3. そこで レア は， 「私が， 女奴隷を 夫に 與えたので， 神は 私に 報酬を 下さった． 」と 言って， その 子を イッサカル と 名づけた．
  4. レア がまたみごもり， ヤコブ に 六番目の 男の 子を 産んだとき，
  5. レア は 言った． 「神は 私に 良い 賜物を 下さった． 今度こそ 夫は 私を 尊ぶだろう． 私は 彼に 六人の 子を 産んだのだから． 」そしてその 子を ゼブルン と 名づけた．
  1. And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.
  2. And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son.
  3. And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.
  4. And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son.
  5. And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.
  1. その 後， レア は 女の 子を 産み， その 子を ディナ と 名づけた．
  2. 神は ラケル を 覺えておられた． 神は 彼女の 願いを 聞き 入れて， その 胎を 開かれた．

  1. And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah.
  2. And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
  3. And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:
  4. And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.
 
  라반과 야곱의 임금 계약(30:25-30:43)    
 
  1. ラケル が ヨセフ を 産んで 後， ヤコブ は ラバン に 言った． 「私を 去らせ， 私の 故鄕の 地へ 歸らせてください．
  2. 私の 妻たちや 子どもたちを 私に 與えて 行かせてください． 私は 彼らのためにあなたに 仕えてきたのです． あなたに 仕えた 私の ¿きはよくご 存じです． 」
  3. ラバン は 彼に 言った． 「もしあなたが 私の 願いをかなえてくれるのなら ……． 私はあなたのおかげで， 主が 私を 祝福してくださったことを， まじないで 知っている． 」
  4. さらに 言った． 「あなたの 望む 報酬を 申し 出てくれ． 私はそれを 拂おう． 」
  5. ヤコブ は 彼に 言った． 「私がどのようにあなたに 仕え， また 私がどのようにあなたの 家畜を 飼ったかは， あなたがよくご 存じです．
  1. And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country.
  2. Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.
  3. And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
  4. And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it.
  5. And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me.
  1. 私が 來る 前には， わずかだったのが， ふえて 多くなりました． それは， 私の 行く 先で 主があなたを 祝福されたからです． いったい， いつになったら 私も 自分自身の 家を 持つことができましょう． 」
  2. 彼は 言った． 「何をあなたにあげようか． 」 ヤコブ は 言った． 「何も 下さるには 及びません． もし 次のことを 私にしてくださるなら， 私は 再びあなたの 羊の 群れを 飼って， 守りましょう．
  3. 私はきょう， あなたの 群れをみな 見回りましょう． その 中から， ぶち 毛とまだら 毛のもの 全部， 羊の 中では 黑毛のもの 全部， やぎの 中ではまだら 毛とぶち 毛のものを， 取り 出してください． そしてそれらを 私の 報酬としてください．
  4. 後になってあなたが， 私の 報酬を 見に 來られたとき， 私の 正しさがあなたに 證明されますように． やぎの 中に， ぶち 毛やまだら 毛でないものや， 羊の 中で， 黑毛でないものがあれば， それはみな， 私が 盜んだものとなるのです． 」
  5. すると ラバン は 言った． 「そうか． あなたの 言うとおりになればいいな． 」
  1. For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?
  2. And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock.
  3. I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire.
  4. So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me.
  5. And Laban said, Behold, I would it might be according to thy word.
  1. ラバン はその 日， しま 毛とまだら 毛のある 雄やぎと， ぶち 毛とまだら 毛の 雌やぎ， いずれも 身に 白いところのあるもの， それに， 羊の 眞黑のものを 取り 出して， 自分の 息子たちの 手に 渡した．
  2. そして， 自分と ヤコブ との 間に 三日の 道のりの 距離をおいた． ヤコブ は ラバン の 殘りの 群れを 飼っていた．
  3. ヤコブ は， ポプラ や， ア ― モンド や， すずかけの 木の 若枝を 取り， それの 白い 筋の 皮をはいで， その 若枝の 白いところをむき 出しにし，
  4. その 皮をはいだ 枝を， 群れが 水を 飮みに 來る 水ため， すなわち 水ぶねの 中に， 群れに 差し 向かいに 置いた． それで 群れは 水を 飮みに 來るときに， さかりがついた．
  5. こうして， 群れは 枝の 前でさかりがついて， しま 毛のもの， ぶち 毛のもの， まだら 毛のものを 産んだ．
  1. And he removed that day the he goats that were ringstraked and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.
  2. And he set three days' journey betwixt himself and Jacob: and Jacob fed the rest of Laban's flocks.
  3. And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.
  4. And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.
  5. And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.
  1. ヤコブ は 羊を 分けておき， その 群れを， ラバン の 群れのしま 毛のものと， 眞黑いものとに 向けておいた． こうして 彼は 自分自身のために， 自分だけの 群れをつくって， ラバン の 群れといっしょにしなかった．
  2. そのうえ， 强いものの 群れがさかりがついたときには， いつも ヤコブ は 群れの 目の 前に 向けて， 枝を 水ぶねの 中に 置き， 枝のところでつがわせた．
  3. しかし， 群れが 弱いときにはそれを 置かなかった． こうして 弱いのは ラバン のものとなり， 强いのは ヤコブ のものとなった．
  4. それで， この 人は 大いに 富み， 多くの 群れと， 男女の 奴隷， およびらくだと， ろばとを 持つようになった．
  1. And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban's cattle.
  2. And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.
  3. But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban's, and the stronger Jacob's.
  4. And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.
