- さて， パリサイ 人たちと 幾人かの 律法學者が エルサレム から 來ていて， イエス の 回りに 集まった．
- イエス の 弟子のうちに， 汚れた 手で， すなわち 洗わない 手で パン を 食べている 者があるのを 見て，
- ·· パリサイ 人をはじめ ユダヤ 人はみな， 昔の 人たちの 言い 傳えを 堅く 守って， 手をよく 洗わないでは 食事をせず，
- また， 市場から 歸ったときには， からだをきよめてからでないと 食事をしない． まだこのほかにも， 杯， 水差し， 銅器を 洗うことなど， 堅く 守るように 傳えられた， しきたりがたくさんある． ··
- パリサイ 人と 律法學者たちは， イエス に 尋ねた． 「なぜ， あなたの 弟子たちは， 昔の 人たちの 言い 傳えに 從って 步まないで， 汚れた 手で パン を 食べるのですか． 」

- Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
- And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
- For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
- And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
- Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

- イエス は 彼らに 言われた． 「イザヤ はあなたがた 僞善者について 預言をして， こう 書いているが， まさにそのとおりです． 『この 民は， 口先ではわたしを 敬うが， その 心は， わたしから 遠く 離れている．
- 彼らが， わたしを 拜んでも， むだなことである． 人間の 敎えを， 敎えとして 敎えるだけだから． 』
- あなたがたは， 神の 戒めを 捨てて， 人間の 言い 傳えを 堅く 守っている． 」
- また 言われた． 「あなたがたは， 自分たちの 言い 傳えを 守るために， よくも 神の 戒めをないがしろにしたものです．
- モ ― セ は， 『あなたの 父と 母を 敬え． 』また『父や 母をののしる 者は， 死刑に 處せられる． 』と 言っています．

- He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
- Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
- For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
- And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
- For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

- それなのに， あなたがたは， もし 人が 父や 母に 向かって， 私からあなたのために 上げられる 物は， コルバン （すなわち， ささげ 物 ）になりました， と 言えば，
- その 人には， 父や 母のために， もはや 何もさせないようにしています．
- こうしてあなたがたは， 自分たちが 受け 繼いだ 言い 傳えによって， 神のことばを 空文にしています． そして， これと 同じようなことを， たくさんしているのです． 」
- イエス は 再び 群衆を 呼び 寄せて 言われた． 「みな， わたしの 言うことを 聞いて， 悟るようになりなさい．
- 外側から 人にはいって， 人を 汚すことのできる 物は 何もありません． 人から 出て 來るものが， 人を 汚すものなのです． 」

- But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
- And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
- Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
- And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
- There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

- イエス が 群衆を 離れて， 家にはいられると， 弟子たちは， このたとえについて 尋ねた．
- イエス は 言われた． 「あなたがたまで， そんなにわからないのですか． 外側から 人にはいって 來る 物は 人を 汚すことができない， ということがわからないのですか．
- そのような 物は， 人の 心には， はいらないで， 腹にはいり， そして， かわやに 出されてしまうのです． 」 イエス は， このように， すべての 食物をきよいとされた．
- また 言われた． 「人から 出るもの， これが， 人を 汚すのです．

- If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
- And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
- And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
- Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
- And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

- 內側から， すなわち， 人の 心から 出て 來るものは， 惡い 考え， 不品行， 盜み， 殺人，
- 姦淫， ·欲， よこしま， 欺き， 好色， ねたみ， そしり， 高ぶり， 愚かさであり，
- これらの 惡はみな， 內側から 出て， 人を 汚すのです． 」

- For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
- Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
- All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
