	예레미야 17:1-18:23 하나님께서는 물가의 푸른 나무와 어리석은 자고새의 비유를 통해, 하나님을 떠나 멸망받게 된 유다 백성들의 구원자가 오직 하나님뿐임을 깨우쳐 주셨다. 예레미야는 하나님을 의뢰하는 실천적 교훈으로 안식일 성수를 촉구하였다. 또한 토기장이의 비유를 통해 하나님의 절대 주권을 증거하고 돌이킬 수 없는 심판을 예고하면서 회개를 촉구하였다. 그러나 완악한 백성들이 자신을 치려 하자, 그는 하나님께 그들에 대한 징계를 호소했다.

	유다의 죄와 심판(17:1-18:17)

ユダの罪は鐵の筆と金剛石のとがりでしるされ，彼らの心の板と彼らの祭壇の角に刻まれている．

The sin of Judah is written down with an iron stylus; With a diamond point it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart And on the horns of their altars,

As they remember their children, So they remember their altars and their Asherim By green trees on the high hills.

O mountain of Mine in the countryside, I will give over your wealth and all your treasures for booty, Your high places for sin throughout your borders.

And you will, even of yourself, let go of your inheritance That I gave you; And I will make you serve your enemies In the land which you do not know; For you have kindled a fire in My anger Which will burn forever.

Thus says the LORD, "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the LORD.

そのような者は荒地のむろの木のように，しあわせが訪れても會うことはなく，荒野の溶岩地帶，住む者のない鹽地に住む．

主に信賴し，主を賴みとする者に祝福があるように．

その人は，水のほとりに植わった木のように，流れのほとりに根を伸ばし，暑さが來ても暑さを知らず，葉は茂って，日照りの年にも心配なく，いつまでも實をみのらせる．

人の心は何よりも陰險で，それは直らない．だれが，それを知ることができよう．

わたし，主が心を探り，思いを調べ，それぞれその生き方により，行ないの結ぶ實によって報いる．

"For he will be like a bush in the desert And will not see when prosperity comes, But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, A land of salt without inhabitant.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD.

"For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit.

"The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?

"I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.

しゃこが自分で産まなかった卵を抱くように，公義によらないで富を得る者がある．彼の一生の半ばで，富が彼を置き去りにし，そのすえはしれ者となる．」

私たちの聖所のある所は，初めから高く上げられた榮光の王座である．

"As a partridge that hatches eggs which it has not laid, So is he who makes a fortune, but unjustly; In the midst of his days it will forsake him, And in the end he will be a fool."

A glorious throne on high from the beginning Is the place of our sanctuary.

O LORD, the hope of Israel, All who forsake You will be put to shame Those who turn away on earth will be written down, Because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, even the LORD.

Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; Save me and I will be saved, For You are my praise.

Look, they keep saying to me, "Where is the word of the LORD? Let it come now!"

しかし，私は，あなたに從う牧者となることを，避けたことはありません．私は，いやされない日を望んだこともありません．あなたは，私のくちびるから出るものは，あなたの御前にあるのをご存じです．

私を恐れさせないでください．あなたは，わざわいの日の，私の身の避け所です．

Do not be a terror to me; You are my refuge in the day of disaster.

Let those who persecute me be put to shame, but as for me, let me not be put to shame; Let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed Bring on them a day of disaster, And crush them with twofold destruction!

Thus the LORD said to me, "Go and stand in the public gate, through which the kings of Judah come in and go out, as well as in all the gates of Jerusalem;

and say to them, 'Listen to the word of the LORD, kings of Judah, and all Judah and all inhabitants of Jerusalem who come in through these gates:

主はこう仰せられる．『あなたがた自身，氣をつけて，安息日に荷物を運ぶな．また，それをエルサレムの門のうちに持ち ¿むな．

また，安息日に荷物を家から出すな．何の仕事もするな．わたしがあなたがたの先祖に命じたとおりに安息日をきよく保て．

しかし，彼らは聞かず，耳も傾けず，うなじのこわい者となって聞こうとせず，懲らしめを受けなかった．

もし，あなたがたが，ほんとうにわたしに聞き從い， ··主の御告げ． ··安息日にこの町の門のうちに荷物を持ち ¿まず，安息日をきよく保ち，この日に何の仕事もしないなら，

ダビデの王座に着く王たちや，車や馬に乘る首長たち，すなわち王たちとその首長たち，ユダの人，エルサレムの住民は，この町の門のうちにはいり，この町はとこしえに人の住む所となる．

'Thus says the LORD, "Take heed for yourselves, and do not carry any load on the sabbath day or bring anything in through the gates of Jerusalem.

"You shall not bring a load out of your houses on the sabbath day nor do any work, but keep the sabbath day holy, as I commanded your forefathers.

"Yet they did not listen or incline their ears, but stiffened their necks in order not to listen or take correction.

"But it will come about, if you listen attentively to Me," declares the LORD, "to bring no load in through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but to keep the sabbath day holy by doing no work on it,

then there will come in through the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.

ユダの町¿やエルサレムの周邊から，ベニヤミンの地や低地から，また山地やネゲブから，全燒のいけにえや，ほかのいけにえ，穀物のささげ物や乳香を携えて來る者，感謝のいけにえを携えて來る者が，主の宮に來る．

しかし，もし，わたしの言うことを聞き入れず，安息日をきよく保たずに，安息日に荷物を運んでエルサレムの門のうちにはいるなら，わたしはその門に火をつけ，火はエルサレムの宮殿をなめ盡くして，消えることがないであろう．』」

"They will come in from the cities of Judah and from the environs of Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the lowland, from the hill country and from the Negev, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to the house of the LORD.

"But if you do not listen to Me to keep the sabbath day holy by not carrying a load and coming in through the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem and not be quenched."'"

主からエレミヤにあったみことばは，こうである．

「立って，陶器師の家に下れ．そこで，あなたに，わたしのことばを聞かせよう．」

私が陶器師の家に下って行くと，ちょうど，彼はろくろで仕事をしているところだった．

陶器師は，粘土で制作中の器を自分の手でこわし，再びそれを陶器師自身の氣に入ったほかの器に作り替えた．

それから，私に次のような主のことばがあった．

The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD saying,

"Arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will announce My words to you."

Then I went down to the potter's house, and there he was, making something on the wheel.

But the vessel that he was making of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make.

Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,

「イスラエルの家よ．この陶器師のように，わたしがあなたがたにすることができないだろうか． ··主の御告げ． ··見よ．粘土が陶器師の手の中にあるように，イスラエルの家よ，あなたがたも，わたしの手の中にある．

わたしが，一つの國，一つの王國について，引き拔き，引き倒し，滅ぼすと語ったその時，

もし，わたしがわざわいを予告したその民が，悔い改めるなら，わたしは，下そうと思っていたわざわいを思い直す．

わたしが，一つの國，一つの王國について，建て直し，植えると語ったその時，

もし，それがわたしの聲に聞き從わず，わたしの目の前に惡を行なうなら，わたしは，それに與えると言ったしあわせを思い直す．

"Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.

"At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to uproot, to pull down, or to destroy it;

if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it.

"Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plant it;

if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will think better of the good with which I had promised to bless it.

さあ，今，ユダの人とエルサレムの住民に言え．『主はこう仰せられる．見よ．わたしはあなたがたに對してわざわいを考え，あなたがたを攻める計畵を立てている．さあ，おのおの惡の道から立ち返り，あなたがたの行ないとわざとを改めよ．』

しかし，彼らは言う．『だめだ．私たちは自分の計畵に從い，おのおの惡いかたくなな心のままに行なうのだから．』と．

それゆえ，主はこう仰せられる．『さあ，國¿の中で尋ねてみよ．だれが，こんなことを聞いたことがあるか．おとめイスラエルは，實に恐るべきことを行なった．

レバノンの雪は，野の岩から消え去るだろうか．ほかの國から流れて來る冷たい水が，引き拔かれるだろうか．

それなのに，わたしの民はわたしを忘れ，むなしいものに香をたく．それらは，彼らをその道，いにしえの道でつまずかせ，小道に，まだ築かれていない道に行かせ，

"So now then, speak to the men of Judah and against the inhabitants of Jerusalem saying, 'Thus says the LORD, "Behold, I am fashioning calamity against you and devising a plan against you Oh turn back, each of you from his evil way, and reform your ways and your deeds."'

"But they will say, 'It's hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.'

"Therefore thus says the LORD, 'Ask now among the nations, Who ever heard the like of this? The virgin of Israel Has done a most appalling thing.

'Does the snow of Lebanon forsake the rock of the open country? Or is the cold flowing water from a foreign land ever snatched away?

'For My people have forgotten Me, They burn incense to worthless gods And they have stumbled from their ways, From the ancient paths, To walk in bypaths, Not on a highway,

彼らの國を恐怖とし，永久にあざけりとする．そこを通り過ぎる者はみな色を失い，頭を振る．

東風のように，わたしは彼らを敵の前で散らす．彼らの災難の日に，わたしは彼らに背を向け，顔を向けない．』」

To make their land a desolation, An object of perpetual hissing; Everyone who passes by it will be astonished And shake his head.

'Like an east wind I will scatter them Before the enemy; I will show them My back and not My face In the day of their calamity.'"

	음모와 기도(18:18-18:23)

彼らは言った．「さあ，私たちは計畵を立ててエレミヤを倒そう．祭司から律法が，知惠ある者からはかりごとが，預言者からことばが滅びうせることはないはずだから．さあ，舌で彼を打ち，彼のことばにはどれにも耳を傾けまい．」

主よ．私に耳を傾け，私と爭う者の聲を聞いてください．

善に惡を報いてよいでしょうか．まことに彼らは，私のいのちを取ろうとして穴を掘ったのです．私があなたの御前に立って，彼らに對するあなたの憤りをやめていただき，彼らについて良いことを語ったことを，覺えてください．

それゆえ，彼らの子らをききんに渡し，彼らを劍で殺してください．妻たちは子を失い，また，やもめになり，夫たちは虐殺されて死に，若い男たちは戰いで劍に殺されますように．

Then they said, "Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah Surely the law is not going to be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the sage, nor the divine word to the prophet! Come on and let us strike at him with our tongue, and let us give no heed to any of his words."

Do give heed to me, O LORD, And listen to what my opponents are saying!

Should good be repaid with evil? For they have dug a pit for me Remember how I stood before You To speak good on their behalf, So as to turn away Your wrath from them.

Therefore, give their children over to famine And deliver them up to the power of the sword; And let their wives become childless and widowed Let their men also be smitten to death, Their young men struck down by the sword in battle.

May an outcry be heard from their houses, When You suddenly bring raiders upon them; For they have dug a pit to capture me And hidden snares for my feet.

しかし，主よ．あなたは，私を殺そうとする彼らの計畵をみな，ご存じです．彼らの咎をおおわず，彼らの罪を御前からぬぐい去らないでください．彼らを，御前で打ち倒し，あなたの御怒りの時に，彼らを罰してください．

Yet You, O LORD, know All their deadly designs against me; Do not forgive their iniquity Or blot out their sin from Your sight But may they be overthrown before You; Deal with them in the time of Your anger!
