여호수아 11:1-12:24

 남부 지역의 패배 소식을 들은 가나안 북부 왕들이 연합군을 형성하여 메롬 물가에 진을 쳤으나, 이스라엘은 하나님의 도우심으로 그들을 진멸하고 북부 지역을 점령함으로써 가나안 전역을 차지했다. 이스라엘에게 패망한 이방 왕들의 명단을 기록함으로써 가나안 정복 기사를 끝맺었다.
  
  북부 가나안 정복(11:1-11:23)    
 
  1. Then it came about, when Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon and to the king of Shimron and to the king of Achshaph,
  2. and to the kings who were of the north in the hill country, and in the Arabah--south of Chinneroth and in the lowland and on the heights of Dor on the west--
  3. to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite at the foot of Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
  4. They came out, they and all their armies with them, as many people as the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots.
  5. So all of these kings having agreed to meet, came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
  1. 하솔 왕 야빈이 이 소식을 듣고 마돈 왕 요밥과 시므론 왕과 악삽 왕과
  2. 및 북방 산지와 긴네롯 남편 아라바와 평지와 서방 돌의 높은 곳에 있는 왕들과
  3. 동서편 가나안 사람과 아모리 사람과 헷 사람과 브리스 사람과 산지의 여부스 사람과 미스바 땅 헤르몬산 아래 히위 사람들에게 사람을 보내매
  4. 그들이 그 모든 군대를 거느리고 나왔으니 민중이 많아 해변의 수다한 모래 같고 말과 병거도 심히 많았으며
  5. 이 왕들이 모여 나아와서 이스라엘과 싸우려고 메롬 물가에 함께 진 쳤더라
  1. Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow at this time I will deliver all of them slain before Israel; you shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire."
  2. So Joshua and all the people of war with him came upon them suddenly by the waters of Merom, and attacked them.
  3. The LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, so that they defeated them, and pursued them as far as Great Sidon and Misrephoth-maim and the valley of Mizpeh to the east; and they struck them until no survivor was left to them.
  4. Joshua did to them as the LORD had told him; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
  5. Then Joshua turned back at that time, and captured Hazor and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor formerly was the head of all these kingdoms.
  1. 여호와께서 여호수아에게 이르시되 그들을 인하여 두려워 말라 내일 이맘때에 내가 그들을 이스라엘 앞에 붙여 몰살시키리니 너는 그들의 말 뒷발의 힘줄을 끊고 불로 그 병거를 사르라
  2. 이에 여호수아가 모든 군사와 함께 메롬 물가로 가서 졸지에 습격할 때에
  3. 여호와께서 그들을 이스라엘의 손에 붙이신고로 그들을 격파하고 큰 시돈과 미스르봇 마임까지 쫓고 동편에서는 미스바 골짜기까지 쫓아가서 한 사람도 남기지 아니하고 쳐죽이고
  4. 여호수아가 여호와께서 자기에게 명하신대로 행하여 그들의 말 뒷발의 힘줄을 끊고 불로 그 병거를 살랐더라
  5. 하솔은 본래 그 모든 나라의 머리였더니 그때에 여호수아가 돌아와서 하솔을 취하고 그 왕을 칼날로 쳐 죽이고
  1. They struck every person who was in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was no one left who breathed. And he burned Hazor with fire.
  2. Joshua captured all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; just as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded.
  3. However, Israel did not burn any cities that stood on their mounds, except Hazor alone, which Joshua burned.
  4. All the spoil of these cities and the cattle, the sons of Israel took as their plunder; but they struck every man with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They left no one who breathed.
  5. Just as the LORD had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD had commanded Moses.
  1. 그 가운데 모든 사람을 칼날로 쳐서 진멸하여 호흡이 있는 자는 하나도 남기지 아니하였고 또 불로 하솔을 살랐으며
  2. 여호수아가 그 왕들의 모든 성읍과 그 모든 왕을 취하여 칼날로 쳐서 진멸하여 여호와의 종 모세의 명한 것과 같이 하였으되
  3. 여호수아가 하솔만 불살랐고 산 위에 건축된 성읍들은 이스라엘이 불사르지 아니하였으며
  4. 이 성읍들의 모든 재물과 가축은 이스라엘 자손들이 탈취하고 모든 사람은 칼날로 쳐서 진멸하여 호흡이 있는 자는 하나도 남기지 아니하였으니
  5. 여호와께서 그종 모세에게 명하신 것을 모세는 여호수아에게 명하였고 여호수아는 그대로 행하여 여호와께서 무릇 모세에게 명하신 것을 하나도 행치 아니한 것이 없었더라
  1. Thus Joshua took all that land: the hill country and all the Negev, all that land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel and its lowland
  2. from Mount Halak, that rises toward Seir, even as far as Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon at the foot of Mount Hermon And he captured all their kings and struck them down and put them to death.
  3. Joshua waged war a long time with all these kings.
  4. There was not a city which made peace with the sons of Israel except the Hivites living in Gibeon; they took them all in battle.
  5. For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, to meet Israel in battle in order that he might utterly destroy them, that they might receive no mercy, but that he might destroy them, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
  1. 여호수아가 이같이 그 온 땅 곧 산지와 온 남방과 고센 온 땅과 평지와 아라바와 이스라엘의 산지와 그 평지를 취하였으니
  2. 곧 세일로 올라가는 할락산에서부터 헤르몬산 아래 레바논 골짜기의 바알갓까지라 그 모든 왕을 잡아 쳐죽였으며
  3. 여호수아가 그 모든 왕과 싸운지는 여러 날이라
  4. 기브온 거민 히위 사람 외에는 이스라엘 자손과 화친한 성읍이 하나도 없고 다 이스라엘 자손에게 쳐서 취한바 되었으니
  5. 그들의 마음이 강퍅하여 이스라엘을 대적하여 싸우러 온 것은 여호와께서 그리하게 하신 것이라 그들로 저주 받은 자 되게 하여 은혜를 입지 못하게 하시고 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신대로 진멸하려 하심이었더라
  1. Then Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab and from all the hill country of Judah and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.
  2. There were no Anakim left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod some remained.
  3. So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had spoken to Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes Thus the land had rest from war.
  1. 그 때에 여호수아가 가서 산지와 헤브론과 드빌과 아납과 유다 온 산지와 이스라엘의 온 산지에서 아낙 사람을 멸절하고 그가 또 그 성읍들을 진멸하였으므로
  2. 이스라엘 자손의 땅 안에는 아낙 사람이 하나도 남음이 없고 가사와 가드와 아스돗에만 약간 남았었더라
  3. 이와 같이 여호수아가 여호와께서 모세에게 이르신 말씀대로 그 온 땅을 취하여 이스라엘 지파의 구별을 따라 기업으로 주었더라 그 땅에 전쟁이 그쳤더라
 
  정복당한 왕들(12:1-12:24)    
 
  1. Now these are the kings of the land whom the sons of Israel defeated, and whose land they possessed beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the valley of the Arnon as far as Mount Hermon, and all the Arabah to the east:
  2. Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, both the middle of the valley and half of Gilead, even as far as the brook Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon;
  3. and the Arabah as far as the Sea of Chinneroth toward the east, and as far as the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward toward Beth-jeshimoth, and on the south, at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah;
  4. and the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of the remnant of Rephaim, who lived at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,
  5. and ruled over Mount Hermon and Salecah and all Bashan, as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half of Gilead, as far as the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.
  1. 이스라엘 자손이 요단 저편 해 돋는 편 곧 아르논 골짜기에서 헤르몬산까지의 동방 온 아라바를 점령하고 그 땅에서 쳐 죽인 왕들은 이러하니라
  2. 헤스본에 거하던 아모리 사람의 왕 시혼이라 그 다스리던 땅은 아르논 골짜기 가에 있는 아로엘에서부터 골짜기 가운데 성읍과 길르앗 절반 곧 암몬 자손의 지경 얍복강까지며
  3. 또 동방 아라바 긴네롯 바다까지며 또 동방 아라바의 바다 곧 염해의 벧여시못으로 통한 길까지와 남편으로 비스가 산록까지며
  4. 또 르바의 남은 족속으로서 아스다롯과 에드레이에 거하던 바산 왕 옥이라
  5. 그 치리하던 땅은 헤르몬산과 살르가와 온 바산과 및 그술 사람과 마아가 사람의 지경까지의 길르앗 절반이니 헤스본 왕 시혼의 지경에 접한 것이라
  1. Moses the servant of the LORD and the sons of Israel defeated them; and Moses the servant of the LORD gave it to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh as a possession.
  2. Now these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the sons of Israel defeated beyond the Jordan toward the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon even as far as Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir; and Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions,
  3. in the hill country, in the lowland, in the Arabah, on the slopes, and in the wilderness, and in the Negev; the Hittite, the Amorite and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite:
  4. the king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;
  5. the king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;
  1. 여호와의 종 모세와 이스라엘 자손이 그들을 치고 여호와의 종 모세가 그 땅을 르우벤 사람과 갓 사람과 므낫세 반 지파에게 기업으로 주었더라
  2. 여호수아와 이스라엘 자손이 요단 이편 곧 서편 레바논 골짜기의 바알갓에서부터 세일로 올라가는 곳 할락산까지에서 쳐서 멸한 왕들은 이러하니 （그 땅을 여호수아가 이스라엘의 구별을 따라 그 지파에게 기업으로 주었으니
  3. 곧 산지와 평지와 아라바와 경사지와 광야와 남방 곧 헷 사람과 아모리 사람과 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람과 히위 사람과 여부스 사람의 땅이라）
  4. 하나는 여리고 왕이요 하나는 벧엘 곁의 아이 왕이요
  5. 하나는 예루살렘 왕이요 하나는 헤브론 왕이요 하나는 야르뭇 왕이요
  1. the king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;
  2. the king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;
  3. the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;
  4. the king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;
  5. the king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;
  1. 하나는 라기스 왕이요
  2. 하나는 에글론 왕이요 하나는 게셀 왕이요
  3. 하나는 드빌 왕이요 하나는 게델 왕이요
  4. 하나는 호르마 왕이요 하나는 아랏 왕이요
  5. 하나는 립나 왕이요 하나는 아둘람 왕이요
  1. the king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;
  2. the king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;
  3. the king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;
  4. the king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;
  5. the king of Shimron-meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;
  1. 하나는 막게다 왕이요 하나는 벧엘 왕이요
  2. 하나는 답부아 왕이요 하나는 헤벨 왕이요
  3. 하나는 아벡 왕이요 하나는 랏사론 왕이요
  4. 하나는 마돈 왕이요 하나는 하솔 왕이요
  5. 하나는 시므론 므론 왕이요 하나는 악삽 왕이요
  1. the king of Taanach, one; the king of Megiddo, one;
  2. the king of Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam in Carmel, one;
  3. the king of Dor in the heights of Dor, one; the king of Goiim in Gilgal, one;
  4. the king of Tirzah, one: in all, thirty-one kings.
  1. 하나는 다아낙 왕이요 하나는 므깃도 왕이요
  2. 하나는 게데스 왕이요 하나는 갈멜의 욕느암 왕이요
  3. 하나는 돌의 높은 곳의 돌 왕이요 하나는 길갈의 고임 왕이요
  4. 하나는 디르사 왕이라 도합 삼십 일 왕이었더라
