예레미야 44:15-46:28

 예레미야는 우상 숭배를 고집하는 일부 백성들에게 유다의 패망 원인이 우상 숭배였음을 깨우쳐 주면서, 그들이 하나님을 섬기지 못하게 될 것과 소수를 제외하고는 바벨론 왕에게 죽임을 당할 것을 예고하였다. 하나님은 예언을 기록한 뒤 낙심해 있던 바룩에게 재앙중에도 그의 생명을 보호해 주시겠다고 약속하셨다. 그리고 애굽이 바벨론에 의해 멸망하고 이스라엘이 구원될 것을 약속하셨다.
  
 
  1. Then all the men who were aware that their wives were burning sacrifices to other gods, along with all the women who were standing by, as a large assembly, including all the people who were living in Pathros in the land of Egypt, responded to Jeremiah, saying,
  2. "As for the message that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we are not going to listen to you!
  3. "But rather we will certainly carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths, by burning sacrifices to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, just as we ourselves, our forefathers, our kings and our princes did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food and were well off and saw no misfortune.
  4. "But since we stopped burning sacrifices to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have met our end by the sword and by famine."
  5. "And," said the women, "when we were burning sacrifices to the queen of heaven and were pouring out drink offerings to her, was it without our husbands that we made for her sacrificial cakes in her image and poured out drink offerings to her?"
  1. 때에 자기 아내들이 다른 신들에게 분향하는 줄을 아는 모든 남자와 곁에 섰던 모든 여인 곧 애굽 땅 바드로스에 거하는 모든 백성의 큰 무리가 예레미야에게 대답하여 가로되
  2. 네가 여호와의 이름으로 우리에게 하는 말을 우리가 듣지 아니하고
  3. 우리 입에서 낸 모든 말을 정녕히 실행하여 우리의 본래 하던 것 곧 우리와 우리 선조와 우리 왕들과 우리 방백들이 유다 성읍들과 예루살렘 거리에서 하던대로 하늘 여신에게 분향하고 그 앞에 전제를 드리리라 대저 그 때에는 우리가 식물이 풍부하며 복을 받고 재앙을 만나지 아니하였더니
  4. 우리가 하늘 여신에게 분향하고 그 앞에 전제 드리던 것을 폐한 후부터는 모든 것이 핍절하고 칼과 기근에 멸망을 당하였느니라 하며
  5. 여인들은 가로되 우리가 하늘 여신에게 분향하고 그 앞에 전제를 드릴 때에 어찌 우리 남편의 허락이 없이 그에게 경배하는 과자를 만들어 놓고 전제를 드렸느냐
  1. Then Jeremiah said to all the people, to the men and women--even to all the people who were giving him such an answer--saying,
  2. "As for the smoking sacrifices that you burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your forefathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them and did not all this come into His mind?
  3. "So the LORD was no longer able to endure it, because of the evil of your deeds, because of the abominations which you have committed; thus your land has become a ruin, an object of horror and a curse, without an inhabitant, as it is this day.
  4. "Because you have burned sacrifices and have sinned against the LORD and not obeyed the voice of the LORD or walked in His law, His statutes or His testimonies, therefore this calamity has befallen you, as it has this day."
  5. Then Jeremiah said to all the people, including all the women, "Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt,
  1. 예레미야가 남녀 모든 무리 곧 이 말로 대답하는 모든 백성에게 일러 가로되
  2. 너희가 너희 선조와 너희 왕들과 방백들과 유다 땅 백성이 유다 성읍들과 예루살렘 거리들에서 분향한 일을 여호와께서 기억지 아니하셨느냐 생각지 아니하셨느냐
  3. 여호와께서 너희 악행과 가증한 소위를 더 참으실 수 없으셨으므로 너희 땅이 오늘과 같이 황무하며 놀램과 저줏거리가 되어 거민이 없게 되었나니
  4. 너희가 분향하여 여호와께 범죄하였으며 여호와의 목소리를 청종치 아니하고 여호와의 법과 율례와 증거대로 행치 아니하였으므로 이 재앙이 오늘과 같이 너희에게 미쳤느니라
  5. 예레미야가 다시 모든 백성과 모든 여인에게 말하되 애굽 땅에서 사는 모든 유다여 여호와의 말씀을 들으라
  1. thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, as follows: 'As for you and your wives, you have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled it with your hands, saying, "We will certainly perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn sacrifices to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her " Go ahead and confirm your vows, and certainly perform your vows!'
  2. "Nevertheless hear the word of the LORD, all Judah who are living in the land of Egypt, 'Behold, I have sworn by My great name,' says the LORD, 'never shall My name be invoked again by the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, "As the Lord GOD lives."
  3. 'Behold, I am watching over them for harm and not for good, and all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will meet their end by the sword and by famine until they are completely gone.
  4. 'Those who escape the sword will return out of the land of Egypt to the land of Judah few in number Then all the remnant of Judah who have gone to the land of Egypt to reside there will know whose word will stand, Mine or theirs.
  5. 'This will be the sign to you,' declares the LORD, 'that I am going to punish you in this place, so that you may know that My words will surely stand against you for harm.'
  1. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말씀하시되 너희와 너희 아내들이 입으로 말하고 손으로 이루려 하여 이르기를 우리가 서원한대로 반드시 이행하여 하늘 여신에게 분향하고 전제를 드리리라 하였은즉 너희 서원을 성립하며 너희 서원을 이행하라 하시느니라
  2. 그러므로 애굽 땅에서 사는 모든 유다여 여호와의 말씀을 들으라 여호와께서 말씀하시되 내가 나의 큰 이름으로 맹세하였은즉 애굽 온 땅에 거하는 유다 사람들의 입에서 다시는 내 이름을 일컬어서 주 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하노라 하는 자가 없게 되리라
  3. 보라 내가 경성하여 그들에게 재앙을 내리고 복을 내리지 아니하리니 애굽 땅에 있는 유다 모든 사람이 칼과 기근에 망하여 멸절되리라
  4. 그런즉 칼을 피한 소수의 사람이 애굽 땅에서 나와 유다 땅으로 돌아오리니 애굽 땅에 들어가서 거기 우거하는 유다의 모든 남은 자가 내 말이 성립되었는지, 자기들의 말이 성립되었는지 알리라
  5. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 이곳에서 너희를 벌할 표징이 이것이라 내가 너희에게 재앙을 내리리라 한 말이 단정코 성립될 것을 그것으로 알게 하리라
  1. "Thus says the LORD, 'Behold, I am going to give over Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt to the hand of his enemies, to the hand of those who seek his life, just as I gave over Zedekiah king of Judah to the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy and was seeking his life.'"
  1. 보라 내가 유다 왕 시드기야를 그 원수 곧 그 생명을 찾는 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 붙인 것 같이 애굽 왕 바로 호브라를 그 원수들 곧 그 생명을 찾는 자들의 손에 붙이리라 나 여호와가 이같이 말하였느니라 하시니라
 
  바룩에게 주신 약속(45:1-45:5)    
 
  1. This is the message which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written down these words in a book at Jeremiah's dictation, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying:
  2. "Thus says the LORD the God of Israel to you, O Baruch:
  3. 'You said, "Ah, woe is me! For the LORD has added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning and have found no rest."'
  4. "Thus you are to say to him, 'Thus says the LORD, "Behold, what I have built I am about to tear down, and what I have planted I am about to uproot, that is, the whole land."
  5. 'But you, are you seeking great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I am going to bring disaster on all flesh,' declares the LORD, 'but I will give your life to you as booty in all the places where you may go.'"
  1. 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김 제 사년에 네리야의 아들 바룩이 예레미야의 구전대로 이 모든 말을 책에 기록하니라 때에 선지자 예레미야가 그에게 말하여 가로되
  2. 바룩아 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 이같이 말씀하시되
  3. 네가 일찍 말하기를 슬프다 여호와께서 나의 고통에 슬픔을 더하셨으니 나는 나의 탄식으로 피곤하여 평안치 못하다 하도다 하셨고
  4. 또 내게 이르시기를 너는 그에게 이르라 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 보라 나는 나의 세운 것을 헐기도 하며 나의 심은 것을 뽑기도 하나니 온 땅에 이러하거늘
  5. 네가 너를 위하여 대사를 경영하느냐 그것을 경영하지 말라 보라 내가 모든 육체에게 재앙을 내리리라 그러나 너의 가는 모든 곳에서는 내가 너로 생명 얻기를 노략물을 얻는것 같게 하리라 여호와의 말이니라 하셨느니라
 
  애굽에 대한 예언(46:1-46:28)    
 
  1. That which came as the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.
  2. To Egypt, concerning the army of Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt, which was by the Euphrates River at Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:
  3. "Line up the shield and buckler, And draw near for the battle!
  4. "Harness the horses, And mount the steeds, And take your stand with helmets on! Polish the spears, Put on the scale-armor!
  5. "Why have I seen it? They are terrified, They are drawing back, And their mighty men are defeated And have taken refuge in flight, Without facing back; Terror is on every side!" Declares the LORD.
  1. 열국에 대하여 선지자 예레미야에게 임한 여호와의 말씀이라
  2. 애굽을 논한 것이니 곧 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김 제 사년에 유브라데 하숫가 갈그미스에서 바벨론왕 느부갓네살에게 패한 애굽 왕 바로느고의 군대에 대한 말씀이라
  3. 너희는 큰 방패, 작은 방패를 예비하고 나가서 싸우라
  4. 너희 기병이여 말에 안장을 지워 타며 투구를 쓰고 나서며 창을 갈며 갑옷을 입으라
  5. 여호와께서 가라사대 내가 본즉 그들이 놀라 물러가며 그들의 용사는 패하여 급히 도망하며 뒤를 돌아보지 아니함은 어찜인고 두려움이 그들의 사방에 있음이로다 하셨나니
  1. Let not the swift man flee, Nor the mighty man escape; In the north beside the river Euphrates They have stumbled and fallen.
  2. Who is this that rises like the Nile, Like the rivers whose waters surge about?
  3. Egypt rises like the Nile, Even like the rivers whose waters surge about; And He has said, "I will rise and cover that land; I will surely destroy the city and its inhabitants."
  4. Go up, you horses, and drive madly, you chariots, That the mighty men may march forward: Ethiopia and Put, that handle the shield, And the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.
  5. For that day belongs to the Lord GOD of hosts, A day of vengeance, so as to avenge Himself on His foes; And the sword will devour and be satiated And drink its fill of their blood; For there will be a slaughter for the Lord GOD of hosts, In the land of the north by the river Euphrates.
  1. 발이 빠른 자도 도망하지 못하며 용맹이 있는 자도 피하지 못하고 그들이 다 북방에서 유브라데 하숫가에 넘어지며 엎드러지는도다
  2. 저 나일의 창일함과 강물의 흉용함 같은 자 누구뇨
  3. 애굽이 나일의 창일함과 강물의 흉용함 같도다 그가 가로되 내가 일어나 땅을 덮어 성읍들과 그 거민을 멸할 것이라
  4. 말들아 달리라 병거들아 급히 동하라 용사여 나오라 방패 잡은 구스인과 붓인과 활을 당기는 루딤인이여 나올찌니라 하거니와
  5. 그날은 주 만군의 여호와께서 그 대적에게 원수 갚는 보수일이라 칼이 배부르게 삼키며 그들의 피를 가득히 마시리니 주 만군의 여호와께서 북편 유브라데 하숫가에서 희생을 내실 것임이로다
  1. Go up to Gilead and obtain balm, O virgin daughter of Egypt! In vain have you multiplied remedies; There is no healing for you.
  2. The nations have heard of your shame, And the earth is full of your cry of distress; For one warrior has stumbled over another, And both of them have fallen down together.
  3. This is the message which the LORD spoke to Jeremiah the prophet about the coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to smite the land of Egypt:
  4. "Declare in Egypt and proclaim in Migdol, Proclaim also in Memphis and Tahpanhes; Say, 'Take your stand and get yourself ready, For the sword has devoured those around you.'
  5. "Why have your mighty ones become prostrate? They do not stand because the LORD has thrust them down.
  1. 처녀 딸 애굽이여 길르앗으로 올라가서 유향을 취하라 네가 많은 의약을 쓸찌라도 무효하여 낫지 못하리라
  2. 네 수치가 열방에 들렸고 네 부르짖음은 땅에 가득하였나니 용사가 용사에게 부딪쳐 둘이 함께 엎드러졌음이니라
  3. 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 와서 애굽 땅을 칠 일에 대하여 선지자 예레미야에게 이르신 여호와의 말씀이라
  4. 너희는 애굽에 선포하며 믹돌과 놉과 다바네스에 선포하여 말하기를 너희는 굳게 서서 예비하라 네 사방이 칼에 삼키웠느니라
  5. 너희 장사들이 쓰러짐은 어찜이뇨 그들의 서지 못함은 여호와께서 그들을 몰아내신 연고니라
  1. "They have repeatedly stumbled; Indeed, they have fallen one against another Then they said, 'Get up! And let us go back To our own people and our native land Away from the sword of the oppressor.'
  2. "They cried there, 'Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a big noise; He has let the appointed time pass by!'
  3. "As I live," declares the King Whose name is the LORD of hosts, "Surely one shall come who looms up like Tabor among the mountains, Or like Carmel by the sea.
  4. "Make your baggage ready for exile, O daughter dwelling in Egypt, For Memphis will become a desolation; It will even be burned down and bereft of inhabitants.
  5. "Egypt is a pretty heifer, But a horsefly is coming from the north--it is coming!
  1. 그가 많은 자로 넘어지게 하시매 사람이 사람 위에 엎드러지며 이르되 일어나라 우리가 포악한 칼을 피하여 우리 민족에게로, 우리 고토로 돌아가자 하며
  2. 거기서 부르짖기를 애굽 왕 바로가 망하였도다 그가 시기를 잃었도다
  3. 만군의 여호와라 일컫는 왕이 가라사대 나의 삶으로 맹세하노니 그가 과연 산들 중의 다볼 같이, 해변의 갈멜 같이 오리라
  4. 애굽에 사는 딸이여 너는 너를 위하여 포로의 행리를 준비하라 놉이 황무하며 불에 타서 거민이 없을 것임이니라
  5. 애굽은 심히 아름다운 암송아지라도 북에서부터 멸망이 이르렀고 이르렀느니라
  1. "Also her mercenaries in her midst Are like fattened calves, For even they too have turned back and have fled away together; They did not stand their ground For the day of their calamity has come upon them, The time of their punishment.
  2. "Its sound moves along like a serpent; For they move on like an army And come to her as woodcutters with axes.
  3. "They have cut down her forest," declares the LORD; "Surely it will no more be found, Even though they are now more numerous than locusts And are without number.
  4. "The daughter of Egypt has been put to shame, Given over to the power of the people of the north."
  5. The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, says, "Behold, I am going to punish Amon of Thebes, and Pharaoh, and Egypt along with her gods and her kings, even Pharaoh and those who trust in him.
  1. 또 그 중의 고용군은 외양간의 송아지 같아서 돌이켜 함께 도망하고 서지 못하였나니 재난의 날이 이르렀고 벌 받는 때가 왔음이라
  2. 애굽의 소리가 뱀의 소리 같으리니 이는 그들의 군대가 벌목하는 자 같이 도끼를 가지고 올 것임이니라
  3. 나 여호와가 말하노라 그들이 황충보다 많고 계수할 수 없으므로 조사할 수 없는 그의 수풀을 찍을 것이라
  4. 딸 애굽이 수치를 당하여 북방 백성의 손에 붙임을 입으리로다
  5. 나 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 말하노라 보라 내가 노의 아몬과 바로와 애굽과 애굽 신들과 왕들 곧 바로와 및 그를 의지하는 자들을 벌할 것이라
  1. "I shall give them over to the power of those who are seeking their lives, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of his officers Afterwards, however, it will be inhabited as in the days of old," declares the LORD.
  2. "But as for you, O Jacob My servant, do not fear, Nor be dismayed, O Israel! For, see, I am going to save you from afar, And your descendants from the land of their captivity; And Jacob will return and be undisturbed And secure, with no one making him tremble.
  3. "O Jacob My servant, do not fear," declares the LORD, "For I am with you For I will make a full end of all the nations Where I have driven you, Yet I will not make a full end of you; But I will correct you properly And by no means leave you unpunished."
  1. 내가 그들의 생명을 찾는 자의 손 곧 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손과 그 신하들의 손에 붙이리라 그럴찌라도 그 후에는 그 땅이 여전히 사람 살 곳이 되리라 여호와의 말이니라
  2. 내 종 야곱아 두려워 말라 이스라엘아 놀라지 말라 보라 내가 너를 원방에서 구원하며 네 자손을 포로 된 땅에서 구원하리니 야곱이 돌아와서 평안히, 정온히 거할 것이라 그를 두렵게 할 자 없으리라
  3. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내 종 야곱아 내가 너와 함께하나니 두려워 말라 내가 너를 흩었던 그 열방은 다 멸할찌라도 너는 아주 멸하지 아니하리라 내가 너를 공도로 징책할 것이요 결코 무죄한 자로 여기지 아니하리라
