열왕기상 11:1-11:43

 왕국의 번영이 절정에 이르렀을 때, 솔로몬이 하나님의 계명을 어기고 이방 여인과 통혼하여 그들의 유혹에 빠져 우상을 숭배하는 죄를 범하자 그를 대적하는 무리들이 일어났다. 하나님께서는 선지자 아히야를 통하여 나라를 솔로몬의 손에서 빼앗아 여로보암에게 나누어 주시겠다고 예언하셨다.
  
  솔로몬의 타락(11:1-11:25)    
 
  1. Now King Solomon loved many foreign women along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women,
  2. from the nations concerning which the LORD had said to the sons of Israel, "You shall not associate with them, nor shall they associate with you, for they will surely turn your heart away after their gods." Solomon held fast to these in love.
  3. He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart away.
  4. For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been.
  5. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians and after Milcom the detestable idol of the Ammonites.
  1. 솔로몬 왕은 매우 호색가였으므로 수많은 외국 여인들과 사랑을 나누었다. 파라오 왕의 딸뿐 아니라 모압 여인, 암몬 여인, 에돔 여인, 시돈 여인, 헷 여인 등 외국 여인들을 후궁으로 맞아들였다.
  2. 야훼께서는 일찍이 이스라엘 백성들에게 외국인들과의 결혼을 금지하시고 경고하시기를 "너희는 외국 여자를 아내로 삼지 말고 외국 남자를 남편으로 삼지 마라. 그들이 반드시 너희 마음을 꾀어 그들의 신에게 너희를 유인해 가겠기 때문이다." 하신 적이 있었다. 그런데도 솔로몬은 이 외국 여인들과 깊은 사랑에 빠졌던 것이다.
  3. 솔로몬은 무려 칠백 명이나 되는 후궁을 거느렸고 그 외에 수청드는 여자가 삼백 명이나 되었다. 왕은 여인들에게 빠져 마음이 흐려졌으므로 진실을 보지 못하게 되고 말았다.
  4. 솔로몬은 늙어 그 여인들의 꾐에 넘어가 다른 신들을 섬기게 되었다. 왕은 선왕 다윗만큼 자기 하느님 야훼께 충성을 다하지 못하게 되었다.
  5. 솔로몬은 시돈인들의 여신 아스도렛을 섬겼고 암몬인들의 우상 밀곰을 숭배하였다.
  1. Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and did not follow the LORD fully, as David his father had done.
  2. Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable idol of Moab, on the mountain which is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the detestable idol of the sons of Ammon.
  3. Thus also he did for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.
  4. Now the LORD was angry with Solomon because his heart was turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
  5. and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not observe what the LORD had commanded.
  1. 이와 같이 솔로몬은 선왕 다윗만큼 야훼를 따르지 못하였고 야훼 앞에서 해서는 안 될 일을 하였다.
  2. 솔로몬은 예루살렘 동편 산 위에 모압의 우상 그모스의 신당과 암몬의 우상 몰록의 신당을 지었다.
  3. 솔로몬은 외국인 왕비들이 하자는 대로 왕비들이 섬기는 신들에게 분향하고 제물까지 드렸다.
  4. 야훼께서 솔로몬에게 노하셨다. 그가 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼를 마음으로부터 저버렸기 때문이었다. 야훼 하느님께서는 일찍이 그에게 두 번이나 나타나셨으며
  5. 그 때마다 다른 신을 따르지 말라고 일러두었는데 왕은 끝내 야훼께서 명령하신 것을 지키지 않았던 것이다.
  1. So the LORD said to Solomon, "Because you have done this, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.
  2. "Nevertheless I will not do it in your days for the sake of your father David, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son.
  3. "However, I will not tear away all the kingdom, but I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen."
  4. Then the LORD raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the royal line in Edom.
  5. For it came about, when David was in Edom, and Joab the commander of the army had gone up to bury the slain, and had struck down every male in Edom
  1. 마침내 야훼께서 솔로몬에게 말씀하셨다. "너의 마음이 이러하고, 내가 너와 계약을 맺으면서 일러둔 법들을 지키지 않았으니 내가 반드시 이 나라를 너에게서 쪼개어 너의 신하에게 주리라.
  2. 그러나 너의 아비 다윗을 보아서 네 생전에는 그렇게 하지 않겠고 너의 아들의 대에 가서 이 나라를 쪼개리라.
  3. 그러나 이 나라를 쪼개어 다 내주지는 않고 한 지파만은 네 아들에게 주어, 내 종 다윗의 뒤를 이어 내가 지정한 예루살렘에서 다스리게 하리라."
  4. 이리하여 야훼께서는 에돔 사람 하닷을 일으키시어 솔로몬에게 반기를 들게 하셨다. 하닷은 에돔의 왕자였다.
  5. 다윗이 에돔을 쳐들어갔을 때 군사령관 요압을 시켜 전사자를 묻어주게 했는데, 요압이 에돔의 남자를 전부 죽인 일이 있었다.
  1. (for Joab and all Israel stayed there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom),
  2. that Hadad fled to Egypt, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, while Hadad was a young boy.
  3. They arose from Midian and came to Paran; and they took men with them from Paran and came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house and assigned him food and gave him land.
  4. Now Hadad found great favor before Pharaoh, so that he gave him in marriage the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
  5. The sister of Tahpenes bore his son Genubath, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house; and Genubath was in Pharaoh's house among the sons of Pharaoh.
  1. 요압은 전 이스라엘 군대를 거느리고 육 개월간 에돔에 주둔하면서 모든 에돔 남자를 죽였었다.
  2. 그러나 하닷은 부왕을 섬기던 신하 몇 사람과 함께 이집트로 망명하였다. 그 때 하닷은 어린 소년이었다.
  3. 그들은 미디안을 떠나 바란에 들러 그 곳에서 장정 몇 사람을 구하여 다시 이집트로 갔다. 이집트의 왕 파라오는 그에게 집을 주고 음식을 대어주었다. 그리고 농토도 주었다.
  4. 파라오는 하닷이 마음에 들어 자기의 처, 다비니스 왕비의 동생을 그에게 주어 아내로 삼게 하였다.
  5. 하닷은 그의 부인, 즉 다비니스 왕비의 동생을 아내로 맞아 아들을 얻었고 이름을 그누밧이라고 지었다. 그누밧은 파라오의 궁전에서 파라오의 왕자들과 함께 자라났다.
  1. But when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers and that Joab the commander of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, "Send me away, that I may go to my own country."
  2. Then Pharaoh said to him, "But what have you lacked with me, that behold, you are seeking to go to your own country?" And he answered, "Nothing; nevertheless you must surely let me go."
  3. God also raised up another adversary to him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah.
  4. He gathered men to himself and became leader of a marauding band, after David slew them of Zobah; and they went to Damascus and stayed there, and reigned in Damascus.
  5. So he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, along with the evil that Hadad did; and he abhorred Israel and reigned over Aram.
  1. 하닷은 다윗 왕이 별세하고 군사령관 요압이 죽었다는 소식을 이집트에서 듣고는 파라오 왕에게 조국으로 돌아가게 해달라고 간청하였다.
  2. 그러나 파라오는 선뜻 허락하지 않고, "무엇이 부족하여 나와 함께 있기를 마다하고 고국으로 가려느냐?" 하고 물었다. 하닷은 "부족한 것은 없습니다. 그러나 제발 저를 보내주십시오." 하고 재차 간청하였다.
  3. 한편 하느님은 또 엘리아달의 아들 르손을 일으켜 솔로몬에게 반기를 들게 하셨다. 그는 다윗이 사람을 쳐죽일 때 자기의 임금인 소바 왕 하다데젤을 버리고 도망쳤던 자였다.
  4. 그는 주변 사람들을 모집하여 무리를 이루고 두목이 되어 다마스쿠스를 점령하고 거기에 정착하여 스스로 다마스쿠스의 왕이 되어 있었다.
  5. 그는 이스라엘에 반기를 들고 대적하였는데 그렇지 않아도 솔로몬은 하닷에게 괴로움을 당하고 있는 형편이었다. 르손은 시리아 왕이 되어 이스라엘에 압력을 가했다.
 
  여로보암의 대적(11:26-11:43)    
 
  1. Then Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow, also rebelled against the king.
  2. Now this was the reason why he rebelled against the king: Solomon built the Millo, and closed up the breach of the city of his father David.
  3. Now the man Jeroboam was a valiant warrior, and when Solomon saw that the young man was industrious, he appointed him over all the forced labor of the house of Joseph.
  4. It came about at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him on the road. Now Ahijah had clothed himself with a new cloak; and both of them were alone in the field.
  5. Then Ahijah took hold of the new cloak which was on him and tore it into twelve pieces.
  1. 느밧의 아들 여로보암은 에브라임족에 속한 스레다 사람으로서 솔로몬의 신하였다. 그도 또한 왕에게 반기를 들었다. 그의 어머니는 과부 스루아였다.
  2. 그가 반기를 든 경위는 이러하였다. 솔로몬이 밀로 궁을 건축하고 그의 선왕 다윗의 성을 보수할 때였다.
  3. 그 사람 여로보암은 힘센 장사였다. 솔로몬은 그 젊은이가 일하는 것을 보고 그를 요셉 지파의 부역 총책임자로 임명하였다.
  4. 한번은 여로보암이 예루살렘에서 나가다가 실로 출신의 예언자 아히야를 길에서 만났다. 그 예언자는 말쑥한 새 옷을 입고 있었다. 들에서 단둘이 있게 되자
  5. 아히야는 자기가 입고 있던 새 옷을 벗어서 열두 조각으로 찢었다.
  1. He said to Jeroboam, "Take for yourself ten pieces; for thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes
  2. (but he will have one tribe, for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel),
  3. because they have forsaken Me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the sons of Ammon; and they have not walked in My ways, doing what is right in My sight and observing My statutes and My ordinances, as his father David did.
  4. 'Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of My servant David whom I chose, who observed My commandments and My statutes;
  5. but I will take the kingdom from his son's hand and give it to you, even ten tribes.
  1. 그러면서 여로보암에게 이렇게 말하는 것이었다. "이 열 조각을 맡으십시오. 이것은 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 하시는 말씀이십니다. '잘 들어라. 내가 솔로몬의 손 안에 있는 이 나라를 찢어 너에게 열 지파를 주리라.
  2. 그러나 한 지파만은 솔로몬에게 주어 내 종 다윗의 뒤를 이어 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데 내가 지정한 성읍인 예루살렘에서 다스리게 하리라.
  3. 솔로몬은 나를 버리고 시돈 사람이 섬기는 여신 아스도렛과 모압의 신 그모스, 암몬 사람의 신 밀곰을 예배하였다. 그는 그의 아비 다윗과는 달리, 내가 보여준 길을 가지 않았고 내 앞에서 바르게 살지도 않았으며 내가 준 규정과 법령을 지키지도 아니하였다.
  4. 그러나 내가 뽑아 세운 나의 종 다윗이 내 명령과 규정을 지킨 것을 생각하여 솔로몬 생전에는 이 나라를 조금도 빼앗지 아니하리라.
  5. 내가 장차 그의 아들 대에 가서 이 나라를 쪼개어 열 지파를 너에게 맡길 것이다.
  1. 'But to his son I will give one tribe, that My servant David may have a lamp always before Me in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name.
  2. 'I will take you, and you shall reign over whatever you desire, and you shall be king over Israel.
  3. 'Then it will be, that if you listen to all that I command you and walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight by observing My statutes and My commandments, as My servant David did, then I will be with you and build you an enduring house as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you.
  4. 'Thus I will afflict the descendants of David for this, but not always.'"
  5. Solomon sought therefore to put Jeroboam to death; but Jeroboam arose and fled to Egypt to Shishak king of Egypt, and he was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
  1. 솔로몬의 아들에게는 한 지파를 주리라. 그리하여 나의 종 다윗으로 하여금 내가 선택하여 나의 것으로 지정한 성읍인 예루살렘에서 그 불씨를 꺼뜨리지 않고 항상 내 앞에서 비추게 하리라.
  2. 내가 너의 원대로 너를 택하여 통치자로 임명하고 이스라엘의 왕으로 세운다.
  3. 나의 종 다윗처럼 내가 명하는 바를 모두 지키고 내가 지시하는 길을 가며 내 규정과 명령을 지켜 내 앞에서 바르게 살아라. 그리하면 내가 너와 함께 하리라. 또한 다윗의 왕조를 든든히 세워주었듯이 너의 왕조도 든든히 세워 너에게 이스라엘을 맡기리라.
  4. 이렇게 하여 다윗의 자손의 머리를 숙이게 해주리라. 그러나 언제까지나 그렇게 두어두지는 아니하리라.'"
  5. 이렇게 되자 솔로몬은 여로보암을 찾아 죽이려고 하였다. 여로보암은 하는 수 없이 시삭 왕이 다스리는 이집트로 망명하였다. 그는 솔로몬이 죽을 때까지 이집트에 머물렀다.
  1. Now the rest of the acts of Solomon and whatever he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
  2. Thus the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
  3. And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of his father David, and his son Rehoboam reigned in his place.
  1. 솔로몬이 어떤 지혜를 가지고 무슨 일을 했는지 그 나머지 역사는 솔로몬 왕의 실록에 기록되어 있다.
  2. 솔로몬은 예루살렘에서 사십 년간 온 이스라엘을 다스렸다.
  3. 솔로몬이 세상을 떠나, 그의 선왕 다윗의 성에 안장되자 그의 아들 르호보암이 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다.
