에스라 7:1-8:20

 아닥사스다 왕은 조서를 내려 율법 학사 겸 제사장인 에스라와 그의 백성들을 바벨론에서 예루살렘으로 귀환시켰다. 이는 에스라를 중심으로 한 제2차 귀환이었다. 에스라와 함께 귀환한 명단이 유명 가문별 족보로 기록되었다.
  
  에스라의 귀환(7:1-7:28)    
 
  1. Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, there went up Ezra son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah,
  2. son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub,
  3. son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth,
  4. son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki,
  5. son of Abishua, son of Phinehas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the chief priest.
  1. 이런 일이 있은 뒤 페르시아를 아르닥사싸 황제가 다스리던 때, 에즈라라는 사람이 있었다. 그의 아비는 스라야, 할아버지는 아자리야, 그 윗대는 힐키야,
  2. 그 윗대는 살룸, 그 윗대는 사독, 그 윗대는 아히툽,
  3. 그 윗대는 아마리야, 그 윗대는 아자리야, 그 윗대는 므라욧,
  4. 그 윗대는 즈라히야, 그 윗대는 우찌, 그 윗대는 북키,
  5. 그 윗대는 아비수아, 그 윗대는 비느하스, 그 윗대는 엘르아잘, 그 윗대는 대사제 아론이었다.
  1. This Ezra went up from Babylon, and he was a scribe skilled in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given; and the king granted him all he requested because the hand of the LORD his God was upon him.
  2. Some of the sons of Israel and some of the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers and the temple servants went up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes.
  3. He came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
  4. For on the first of the first month he began to go up from Babylon; and on the first of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, because the good hand of his God was upon him.
  5. For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.
  1. 이 에즈라가 바빌론에서 돌아왔는데, 그는 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께 받은 모세의 법을 통달한 선비였다. 그를 택하신 하느님 야훼께서 살펴주셨으므로 황제는 그의 청을 다 들어주었다.
  2. 이스라엘 일반인 일부와 사제 일부와 레위인들과 합창대원들과 수위들과 성전 막일꾼들이 예루살렘으로 돌아왔으니, 때는 아르닥사싸 황제 제칠년이었다.
  3. 그들은 황제 제칠년 오월에 예루살렘에 다다랐다.
  4. 에즈라는 정월 초하루를 출발일로 정하고 그 날 떠나 오월 초하루에 예루살렘에 다다랐다. 하느님께서 잘 보살펴 주셨던 것이다.
  5. 에즈라는 야훼의 법을 깨쳐 몸소 실천할 뿐 아니라, 그 법령들을 이스라엘 사람들에게 가르치고 싶은 마음밖에 없었다.
  1. Now this is the copy of the decree which King Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, learned in the words of the commandments of the LORD and His statutes to Israel:
  2. "Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace. And now
  3. I have issued a decree that any of the people of Israel and their priests and the Levites in my kingdom who are willing to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.
  4. "Forasmuch as you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem according to the law of your God which is in your hand,
  5. and to bring the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem,
  1. 에즈라는 사제면서 선비였다. 이스라엘이 야훼께 받은 계명과 법규를 통달한 선비였다. 그는 아르닥사싸 황제에게서 아래와 같은 칙령을 받았다.
  2. "아르닥사싸 황제는 하늘을 내신 하느님의 법을 가르치는 선비 에즈라 사제에게 칙령을 내린다.
  3. 이에 짐은 아래와 같이 지시하는 바이다. 짐의 나라에 사는 이스라엘 백성으로서 사제든지 레위인이든지 예루살렘으로 가고 싶어하는 사람은 누구든지 그대와 함께 가도 좋다.
  4. 짐은 일곱 고문관과 함께 그대를 파송한다. 그대는 유다와 예루살렘으로 가서 모든 일이 그대가 가지고 있는 하느님의 법대로 돌아가는지 살피도록 하여라.
  5. 짐은 예루살렘에 계시는 이스라엘의 하느님께 일곱 고문관과 함께 금과 은을 성금으로 바치고자 하는 바이니, 그것도 가지고 가거라.
  1. with all the silver and gold which you find in the whole province of Babylon, along with the freewill offering of the people and of the priests, who offered willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem;
  2. with this money, therefore, you shall diligently buy bulls, rams and lambs, with their grain offerings and their drink offerings and offer them on the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.
  3. "Whatever seems good to you and to your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and gold, you may do according to the will of your God.
  4. "Also the utensils which are given to you for the service of the house of your God, deliver in full before the God of Jerusalem.
  5. "The rest of the needs for the house of your God, for which you may have occasion to provide, provide for it from the royal treasury.
  1. 그대의 백성과 사제들이 예루살렘에 있는 성전에 정성껏 바칠 예물뿐 아니라 바빌론 온 도에서 성금으로 받은 금과 은도 모두 가지고 가거라. 짐의 뜻이 이러하니,
  2. 그대는 그 돈으로 어김없이 소와 숫양과 어린 양을 사고 그와 곁들여 바칠 곡식예물과 제주를 사서 예루살렘에 있는 그대들의 신전 제단에 바치도록 하여라.
  3. 그렇게 쓰고 남은 금과 은은 그대들의 하느님의 뜻을 따라 그대와 그대의 동료들이 마음대로 쓰도록 하여라.
  4. 그대의 하느님의 전에서 쓸 기구들도 받아가지고 가서 예루살렘에 계시는 하느님 앞에 차려놓도록 하여라.
  5. 그 밖에도 그대의 하느님의 성전에 아쉬운 것이 있거든 무엇이든지 국고금에서 타다가 마련하도록 하여라.
  1. "I, even I, King Artaxerxes, issue a decree to all the treasurers who are in the provinces beyond the River, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, may require of you, it shall be done diligently,
  2. even up to 100 talents of silver, 100 kors of wheat, 100 baths of wine, 100 baths of oil, and salt as needed.
  3. "Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done with zeal for the house of the God of heaven, so that there will not be wrath against the kingdom of the king and his sons.
  4. "We also inform you that it is not allowed to impose tax, tribute or toll on any of the priests, Levites, singers, doorkeepers, Nethinim or servants of this house of God.
  5. "You, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God which is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges that they may judge all the people who are in the province beyond the River, even all those who know the laws of your God; and you may teach anyone who is ignorant of them.
  1. 아르닥사싸 황제는 유프라테스 서부 지방 재무관들에게 지시한다. 하늘을 내신 하느님의 법을 가르치는 선비 에즈라 사제가 청하는 것이 있거든 무엇이든지 어김없이 들어주어라.
  2. 은은 백 달란트까지, 밀은 백 섬까지, 술은 백 통까지, 기름도 백 통까지, 소금은 무제한으로 대어주어라.
  3. 하늘을 내신 하느님께서 당신 성전에 필요하여서 지시하시는 것이면 무엇이든지 어김없이 수행하여, 이 황실에 하느님의 진노가 떨어지는 일이 없도록 하여라.
  4. 또 그 신전에서 봉직하는 사제나 레위인이나 합창대원이나 수위나 막일꾼뿐 아니라 모든 참배자들에게서도 조공과 세금과 관세를 거두지 못한다.
  5. 에즈라, 그대는 그대의 하느님의 슬기로운 지시를 따라 관리들과 판사들을 세워라. 그리하여 그대의 하느님의 법을 소중히 여기는 이들로 유프라테스 서부 지방에 사는 그대의 온 백성을 다스리게 하여라. 그 법을 소중히 알지 않는 사람이 있거든 그대가 가르쳐주도록 하여라.
  1. "Whoever will not observe the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed upon him strictly, whether for death or for banishment or for confiscation of goods or for imprisonment."
  2. Blessed be the LORD, the God of our fathers, who has put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to adorn the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem,
  3. and has extended lovingkindness to me before the king and his counselors and before all the king's mighty princes Thus I was strengthened according to the hand of the LORD my God upon me, and I gathered leading men from Israel to go up with me.
  1. 그대의 하느님의 법과 짐의 법을 따르지 않는 사람이 있거든 사형이나 추방형, 벌금형이나 징역형을 내려 엄하게 다스려라."
  2. 찬양하여라 야훼님을, 우리 선조들의 하느님을. 예루살렘에 있는 당신의 전을 빛내시려고 황제의 마음을 돌리시었다.
  3. 황제와 고문관들과 높은 고관들에게 이 몸 총애를 받게 하시었다. 나는 나의 하느님 야훼께서 보살펴 주시는 줄을 알아 힘이 나서, 이스라엘 어른들을 모아 함께 떠나게 되었다.
 
  에스라와 동행한 자들(8:1-8:20)    
 
  1. Now these are the heads of their fathers' households and the genealogical enrollment of those who went up with me from Babylon in the reign of King Artaxerxes:
  2. of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom; of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel; of the sons of David, Hattush;
  3. of the sons of Shecaniah who was of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah and with him 150 males who were in the genealogical list;
  4. of the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai the son of Zerahiah and 200 males with him;
  5. of the sons of Zattu, Shecaniah, the son of Jahaziel and 300 males with him;
  1. 아르닥사싸 황제가 다스릴 때 나와 함께 바빌론에서 돌아온 각 가문 어른들로서 등록된 사람은 아래와 같다.
  2. 비느하스 일가 중에서 게르솜, 이다말 일가 중에서 다니엘, 다윗 일가 중에서 스가니야의 아들 하투스,
  3. 바로스 일가 중에서 즈가리야, 그의 이름 아래 남자 백오십 명이 등록하였다.
  4. 바핫모압 일가 중에서 즈라히야의 아들 엘요에내, 그의 이름 아래 남자 이백 명이,
  5. 자뚜 일가 중에서 야하지엘의 아들 스가니야, 그의 이름 아래 남자 삼백 명이,
  1. and of the sons of Adin, Ebed the son of Jonathan and 50 males with him;
  2. and of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah and 70 males with him;
  3. and of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah the son of Michael and 80 males with him;
  4. of the sons of Joab, Obadiah the son of Jehiel and 218 males with him;
  5. and of the sons of Bani, Shelomith, the son of Josiphiah and 160 males with him;
  1. 아딘 일가 중에서 요나단의 아들 에벳, 그의 이름 아래 남자 오십 명이,
  2. 엘람 일가 중에서 아달리야의 아들 여사이야, 그의 이름 아래 남자 칠십 명이,
  3. 스바티야 일가 중에서 미가엘의 아들 즈바디야, 그의 이름 아래 남자 팔십 명이,
  4. 요압의 일가 중에서 여히엘의 아들 오바디야, 그의 이름 아래 남자 이백십팔 명이,
  5. 바니 일가 중에서 요시비야의 아들 슬로밋, 그의 이름 아래 남자 백육십 명이,
  1. and of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah the son of Bebai and 28 males with him;
  2. and of the sons of Azgad, Johanan the son of Hakkatan and 110 males with him;
  3. and of the sons of Adonikam, the last ones, these being their names, Eliphelet, Jeuel and Shemaiah, and 60 males with them;
  4. and of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud, and 70 males with them.
  5. Now I assembled them at the river that runs to Ahava, where we camped for three days; and when I observed the people and the priests, I did not find any Levites there.
  1. 베배의 일가 중에서 베배의 아들 즈가리야, 그의 이름 아래 남자 이십팔 명이,
  2. 아즈갓 일가 중에서 하카탄의 아들 요하난, 그의 이름 아래 남자 백십 명이,
  3. 아도니캄 일가 중에서 작은 아들들, 그들의 이름은 엘리벨렛, 여이엘, 스마야인데 그들의 이름 아래 남자 육십 명이,
  4. 비그왜의 일가 중에서 우대와 자붓, 그들의 이름 아래 남자 칠십 명이 등록하였다.
  5. 나는 이들을 아하와로 흐르는 강가에 모은 다음 거기에 천막들을 치고 사흘을 묵으며 살펴보았다. 그랬더니 일반인도 있고 사제들도 있는데 레위인만은 하나도 없었다.
  1. So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah and Meshullam, leading men, and for Joiarib and Elnathan, teachers.
  2. I sent them to Iddo the leading man at the place Casiphia; and I told them what to say to Iddo and his brothers, the temple servants at the place Casiphia, that is, to bring ministers to us for the house of our God.
  3. According to the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of insight of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, and his sons and brothers, 18 men;
  4. and Hashabiah and Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, with his brothers and their sons, 20 men;
  5. and 220 of the temple servants, whom David and the princes had given for the service of the Levites, all of them designated by name.
  1. 나는 엘리에젤, 아리엘, 스마야, 엘나단, 야립, 엘나단, 나단, 즈가리야, 므술람, 이런 지도자들과 요야립과 엘나단, 이런 슬기 있는 이들을 카시비야 지방으로 보내어 그 곳 어른 이또를 찾아보고 우리 하느님의 성전에서 일할 사람을 보내달라고 이또 일가에게 부탁하도록 하였다.
  3. 그랬더니 우리 하느님께서 우리 일이 잘되도록 보살펴 주셔서 그들은 똑똑한 사람 하나를 데려왔다. 그는 이스라엘의 아들 레위의 혈통을 이은 마흘리의 후손으로서 이름은 세레비야라고 하였다. 그는 아들들과 일가 사람 모두 십팔 명을 데리고 왔다.
  4. 하사비야라는 사람도 왔고 그와 함께 므라리 후손 이사야라는 사람도 왔다. 그의 일가들도 아들들을 데리고 오니 일행은 모두 이십 명이었다.
  5. 레위인의 일을 거드는 막일꾼도 있었다. 이들은 다윗이 대신들과 의논하여 붙여준 사람들이었는데, 그 일하러 온 사람 이백이십 명도 있었다. 이들은 모두 지명되어 온 사람들이었다.
