예레미야 26:1-27:22

 패역한 유다 백성들에게 하나님의 심판을 선포하면서 회개를 촉구했다는 이유로 예레미야는 유다 지도자들로부터 위협을 받았으나 아히감의 보호로 죽음을 면했다. 예레미야는 줄과 멍에를 목에 얹고서 다시 한 번 이방 열국에게 바벨론에 항복할 것을 권면했으며, 시드기야 왕과 유다 백성들에게 거짓 선지자들의 말에 속지 말고 바벨론에 항복할 것을 권고했다.
  
  핍박받는 예레미야(26:1-26:24)    
 
  1. In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came from the LORD, saying,
  2. "Thus says the LORD, 'Stand in the court of the LORD'S house, and speak to all the cities of Judah who have come to worship in the LORD'S house all the words that I have commanded you to speak to them Do not omit a word!
  3. 'Perhaps they will listen and everyone will turn from his evil way, that I may repent of the calamity which I am planning to do to them because of the evil of their deeds.'
  4. "And you will say to them, 'Thus says the LORD, "If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My law which I have set before you,
  5. to listen to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I have been sending to you again and again, but you have not listened;
  1. 요시야의 아들 여호야킴이 유다 왕이 되어 다스리기 시작할 무렵이었다. 야훼께서 예레미야에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "나 야훼가 말한다. 너는 내 집 마당에 가 서서, 유다 모든 성읍에서 내 집에 예배하러 오는 사람들에게 내가 너에게 전하라고 준 말을 하나도 빼놓지 말고 다 일러주어라.
  3. 행여나 이 백성이 내 말을 듣고 그 못된 생활 태도를 고친다면 얼마나 좋겠느냐? 그렇게만 한다면, 재앙을 퍼부어 그 악한 소행을 벌하려던 계획을 나는 거두리라.
  4. 너는 야훼의 말이라고 하며 이렇게 일러주어라. '내 말을 따라 살아라. 내가 세워준 법대로 살아라.
  5. 내가 거듭거듭 보내는 나의 종 예언자들의 말을 들어라.
  1. then I will make this house like Shiloh, and this city I will make a curse to all the nations of the earth."'"
  2. The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.
  3. When Jeremiah finished speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, "You must die!
  4. "Why have you prophesied in the name of the LORD saying, 'This house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate, without inhabitant'?" And all the people gathered about Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
  5. When the officials of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king's house to the house of the LORD and sat in the entrance of the New Gate of the LORD'S house.
  1. 그러지 않으면 내가 이 집을 실로처럼 만들리니, 이 성읍은 세상 모든 민족에게 욕을 먹게 되리라.'"
  2. 사제들과 예언자들과 일반 민중은 예레미야가 야훼의 성전에서 이런 말을 하는 것을 다 들었다.
  3. 예레미야가 야훼께 받은 말씀을 그대로 전 국민에게 전하자, 사제들과 예언자들과 일반 민중이 예레미야를 붙잡고 말하였다. "이 죽일 놈아!
  4. 어찌하여 네가 야훼의 이름을 빌려 이 성전이 실로처럼 되고 이 성읍이 허물어져 사람이 못 살게 된다고 하느냐?" 그러면서 온 백성이 야훼의 성전으로 모여들어 예레미야에게 다가섰다.
  5. 이 소식을 전하여 듣고 왕궁에 있던 유다 고관들은 야훼의 성전으로 올라와 야훼의 성전 새 대문 문간에 자리잡고 앉았다.
  1. Then the priests and the prophets spoke to the officials and to all the people, saying, "A death sentence for this man! For he has prophesied against this city as you have heard in your hearing."
  2. Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and to all the people, saying, "The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.
  3. "Now therefore amend your ways and your deeds and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will change His mind about the misfortune which He has pronounced against you.
  4. "But as for me, behold, I am in your hands; do with me as is good and right in your sight.
  5. "Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city and on its inhabitants; for truly the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing."
  1. 그러자 사제들과 예언자들이 고관들과 온 백성 앞에 예레미야를 고발하였다. "이 사람은 사형을 받아 마땅한 사람입니다. 여러분들이 들으신 대로 이 사람은 이 성이 망한다고 예언하였습니다."
  2. 이번에는 예레미야가 모든 고관들과 백성 앞에서 입을 열었다. "나는 야훼께 사명을 받고 온 몸이오. 여러분도 다 들으셨겠지만, 나는 그분의 분부대로 이 성전과 이 성읍이 어찌 될 것인지를 전하였을 뿐이오.
  3. 그러니 이제 여러분의 하느님 야훼의 말씀을 따라 생활 태도를 고치시오. 그렇게만 하면 야훼께서는 여러분에게 내리시려던 재앙을 거두실 것이오.
  4. 나는 여러분의 손안에 있소. 그러니 여러분이 좋다고 생각하는 대로, 옳다고 생각하는 대로 하시오.
  5. 그러나 이것만은 알아두시오. 여러분이 나를 죽인다면, 여러분 자신이 죄없는 사람을 죽인 책임을 져야 하오. 이 성과 이 성의 시민이 책임을 져야 하오. 나는 틀림없이 야훼께 사명을 받고 온 몸으로서 이 모든 말을 여러분에게 전하여 주었을 뿐이오."
  1. Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets, "No death sentence for this man! For he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God."
  2. Then some of the elders of the land rose up and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying,
  3. "Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus the LORD of hosts has said, "Zion will be plowed as a field, And Jerusalem will become ruins, And the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest."'
  4. "Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Did he not fear the LORD and entreat the favor of the LORD, and the LORD changed His mind about the misfortune which He had pronounced against them? But we are committing a great evil against ourselves."
  5. Indeed, there was also a man who prophesied in the name of the LORD, Uriah the son of Shemaiah from Kiriath-jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land words similar to all those of Jeremiah.
  1. 이 말을 듣고 고관들과 일반 민중은 사제들과 예언자들에게 이렇게 말하였다. "이 사람은 사형 선고를 받을 만한 죄가 없소. 이 사람은 우리 하느님 야훼의 이름으로 말했을 뿐이오."
  2. 그러자 지방 장로들 몇 사람이 일어나 거기에 모인 온 백성에게 말하였다.
  3. "유다 왕 히즈키야 시대에 모레셋 출신으로 미가라는 예언자가 있었소. 그는 만군의 야훼께서 하신 말씀이라고 하며 유다 온 백성에게 이렇게 말하였소. '시온은 갈아엎은 밭 모양이 되고 예루살렘은 돌무더기가 되고 성전이 서 있는 이 산은 잡초만이 무성한 언덕이 되리라.'
  4. 이렇게 말하였다고 하여 유다 왕 히즈키야와 온 유다 백성이 그를 죽였습니까? 그들은 도리어 야훼 두려운 줄 알아 야훼의 자비를 빌었소. 그래서 야훼께서는 내리시려던 재앙을 거두셨소. 그런데 우리는 도리어 큰 재앙을 스스로 불러들이려 하고 있소."
  5. 예레미야와 같은 말로, 이 성과 나라가 망한다고 야훼의 이름으로 예언한 사람이 또 하나 있었다. 그 사람은 키럇여아림 사람 스마야의 아들 우리야였다.
  1. When King Jehoiakim and all his mighty men and all the officials heard his words, then the king sought to put him to death; but Uriah heard it, and he was afraid and fled and went to Egypt.
  2. Then King Jehoiakim sent men to Egypt: Elnathan the son of Achbor and certain men with him went into Egypt.
  3. And they brought Uriah from Egypt and led him to King Jehoiakim, who slew him with a sword and cast his dead body into the burial place of the common people.
  4. But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so that he was not given into the hands of the people to put him to death.
  1. 여호야킴 왕은 그의 말을 듣고 군인들과 장교들과 함께 우리야를 죽이려고 찾았다. 우리야는 그것을 알아채고 겁이 나서 이집트로 도망쳤다.
  2. 여호야킴 왕은 악볼의 아들 엘나단에게 몇 사람 딸려서 이집트로 보냈다.
  3. 그들은 이집트에서 우리야를 붙잡아 여호야킴 왕에게 데리고 왔다. 왕은 그를 칼로 쳐죽여 서민 공동묘지에 그 시체를 묻었다.

  바벨론의 멍에를 메라(27:1-27:22)    
 
  1. In the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying--
  2. thus says the LORD to me--"Make for yourself bonds and yokes and put them on your neck,
  3. and send word to the king of Edom, to the king of Moab, to the king of the sons of Ammon, to the king of Tyre and to the king of Sidon by the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.
  4. "Command them to go to their masters, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, thus you shall say to your masters,
  5. "I have made the earth, the men and the beasts which are on the face of the earth by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and I will give it to the one who is pleasing in My sight.
  1. (요시야의 아들 시드키야가 유다 왕위에 오를 무렵이었다. 야훼께서 예레미야에게 말씀을 내리셨다.)
  2. 야훼께서 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "나무로 멍에를 만들어 가죽끈으로 목에 메어라.
  3. 에돔 왕과 모압 왕과 암몬인들의 왕과 띠로 왕과 시돈 왕이 유다 왕 시드키야에게 보낸 사절들이 예루살렘에 와 있지 않느냐? 너는 그들에게 내 말을 일러주어, 본국의 왕들에게 전하도록 하여라.
  4. 이스라엘의 하느님 만군의 야훼가 한 말이라 하고 저희 상전들에게 이렇게 전하라고 일러주어라.
  5. '내가 손을 뻗어 있는 힘을 다하여 땅을 만들고 그 위에 사람과 짐승을 만들었으니, 아무나 내 눈에 드는 사람에게 천하를 맡길 권한이 나에게 있다.
  1. "Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and I have given him also the wild animals of the field to serve him.
  2. "All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson until the time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings will make him their servant.
  3. "It will be, that the nation or the kingdom which will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and which will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation with the sword, with famine and with pestilence," declares the LORD, "until I have destroyed it by his hand.
  4. "But as for you, do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your dreamers, your soothsayers or your sorcerers who speak to you, saying, 'You will not serve the king of Babylon.'
  5. "For they prophesy a lie to you in order to remove you far from your land; and I will drive you out and you will perish.
  1. 이제 나는 이 천하를 나의 종인 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살에게 맡기기로 하였다. 들짐승까지도 그에게 맡겨 부리게 하였다.
  2. 그 왕과 그 나라도 망할 때가 오겠지만, 모든 민족은 느부갓네살을 그 아들 손자대까지 섬겨야 한다.
  3. 그러니 바빌론 왕이 씌워주는 멍에를 메어라. 그 왕 느부갓네살을 섬겨라. 그러지 않는 민족과 나라가 있으면, 나는 그 민족을 전쟁과 기근과 염병으로 벌하여서라도 느부갓네살의 손에 넘겨주고 말 것이다. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
  4. 너희의 예언자들과 박수들과 해몽가들과 점쟁이들과 마술사들이, 우리가 바빌론 왕을 섬기게 될 리 없다고 하더라도 곧이듣지 마라.
  5. 그자들이 하는 예언은 거짓이다. 그 말을 듣다가는 고향을 멀리 떠나게 되며, 나에게 쫓겨나 망하고 말 것이다.
  1. "But the nation which will bring its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will let remain on its land," declares the LORD, "and they will till it and dwell in it."'"
  2. I spoke words like all these to Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, "Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him and his people, and live!
  3. "Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, famine and pestilence, as the LORD has spoken to that nation which will not serve the king of Babylon?
  4. "So do not listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, 'You will not serve the king of Babylon,' for they prophesy a lie to you;
  5. for I have not sent them," declares the LORD, "but they prophesy falsely in My name, in order that I may drive you out and that you may perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you."
  1. 그러나 바빌론 왕의 멍에를 메고 그를 섬기는 민족은 제 고장에 남아 농사지으며 살 수 있게 하여주겠다. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.'"
  2. 나는 유다 왕 시드키야에게도 같은 말을 전하였다. "너희는 바빌론 왕의 멍에를 메어라. 그 왕과 그 백성을 섬겨라. 그러면 모두 죽지 않으리라.
  3. 바빌론 왕을 섬기지 않는 민족에겐 벌을 내리겠다고 하였는데, 너와 너의 백성은 어찌하여 그 벌을 받아 전쟁과 기근과 염병으로 죽으려 하느냐?
  4. '바빌론 왕을 섬기게 될 리 없다.'고 하는 것들은 거짓 예언을 하는 것들이니, 그 말을 듣지 마라.
  5. 내가 똑똑히 일러둔다. 나는 그들을 보낸 적이 없다. 그들은 내 이름을 팔아서 거짓 예언을 하고 있는 것이다. 그 말을 들으면 너희는 그 예언자들과 함께 쫓겨나 망하고 말리라."
  1. Then I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, "Thus says the LORD: Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, 'Behold, the vessels of the LORD'S house will now shortly be brought again from Babylon'; for they are prophesying a lie to you.
  2. "Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live! Why should this city become a ruin?
  3. "But if they are prophets, and if the word of the LORD is with them, let them now entreat the LORD of hosts that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem may not go to Babylon.
  4. "For thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the pillars, concerning the sea, concerning the stands and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city,
  5. which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he carried into exile Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem.
  1. 나는 또 사제들과 온 백성에게 야훼의 말씀이라 하고 이렇게 전하였다. "내 집에서 바빌론으로 실려갔던 기물들이 이제 곧 되돌아온다고 예언하는 너희 예언자들의 말을 곧이듣지 마라. 그들은 거짓 예언을 하는 것이니,
  2. 그 하는 말을 듣지 마라. 너희는 바빌론 왕을 섬겨야 산다. 이 성이 허물어져서야 되겠느냐?
  3. 그들이 내 말을 받은 예언자라면, 내 집과 유다 왕궁과 예루살렘에 아직 남아 있는 기물들이 바빌론으로 실려가지 않도록 하여달라고 나에게 빌었어야 할 것이 아니냐?
  4. 나 야훼가 만군의 주로서 기둥들과 큰 물통과 작은 물통과 그 밖에 이 성에 남아 있는 세간들이 어떻게 될 것인지를 말하겠다.
  5. 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 유다 왕 여호야킴의 아들 여고니야를 유다와 예루살렘의 유지들과 함께 예루살렘에서 바빌론으로 사로잡아 갈 때에는 이것들을 실어가지 않았지만,
  1. "Yes, thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the LORD and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem,
  2. 'They will be carried to Babylon and they will be there until the day I visit them,' declares the LORD 'Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.'"
  1. 나 만군의 야훼가 이스라엘의 하느님으로서 말한다. 내 집과 유다 왕궁과 예루살렘에 남아 있는 세간들이
  2. 이제는 바빌론으로 실려가리라. 내가 찾으러 갈 때까지 그것들은 거기에 남아 있으리라. 내가 똑똑히 일러둔다. 그 세간들을 내가 이 곳으로 다시 실어오게 하리라."
