에스겔 31:1-32:32

 하나님께서는 이미 멸망한 앗수르를 레바논 백향목에 비유하여 애굽에게 앗수르의 영광과 몰락을 상기시키면서 애굽도 앗수르와 같이 될 것이라고 경고하셨다. 에스겔은 하나님의 심판으로 죽음에 이른 바로에 대하여, 또 몰락될 그 왕국의 권세에 대하여 애가를 불렀다.
  
  레바논 백향목의 비유(31:1-31:18)    
 
  1. In the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first of the month, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  2. "Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes, 'Whom are you like in your greatness?
  3. 'Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon With beautiful branches and forest shade, And very high, And its top was among the clouds.
  4. 'The waters made it grow, the deep made it high. With its rivers it continually extended all around its planting place, And sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.
  5. 'Therefore its height was loftier than all the trees of the field And its boughs became many and its branches long Because of many waters as it spread them out.
  1. 제십일년 삼월 초하루 야훼께서 나에게 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 이집트 왕 파라오와 그의 무리에게 일러라. '너의 크기를 무엇에 비교할까!
  3. 가지가 멋지게 우거져 그늘이 좋고 키가 우뚝 솟아 꼭대기 가지는 구름을 뚫고 뻗은 레바논의 송백만큼이나 크다고 할까!
  4. 너는 물을 먹고 크게 자랐고 지하수를 빨아 치솟았다. 네가 선 주위로는 강물이 돌고 도랑물이 흘러 들나무를 모두 적셨다.
  5. 그래서 너는 들의 어떤 나무보다 키가 컸다. 그 많은 굵은 가지에 가지들이 무성하게 뻗은 것은 물이 많아서 잘 자란 탓이었다.
  1. 'All the birds of the heavens nested in its boughs, And under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth, And all great nations lived under its shade.
  2. 'So it was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; For its roots extended to many waters.
  3. 'The cedars in God's garden could not match it; The cypresses could not compare with its boughs, And the plane trees could not match its branches No tree in God's garden could compare with it in its beauty.
  4. 'I made it beautiful with the multitude of its branches, And all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God, were jealous of it.
  5. 'Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Because it is high in stature and has set its top among the clouds, and its heart is haughty in its loftiness,
  1. 그 가지들에 하늘의 새들이 깃들였고 우거진 가지들 밑에서 온갖 들짐승들이 새끼를 쳤으며 그 그늘 밑에 큰 민족들이 모두 자리를 잡았다.
  2. 뿌리가 물을 마음껏 빨아들여 키는 크고 가지는 멋있게 뻗었다.
  3. 하느님 동산에서 자란 어느 송백이 이만하랴! 전나무 가지도 그만큼은 되지 않았고 플라타너스도 그만큼은 무성하지 못하였다. 하느님 동산 어느 나무가 이만큼 멋지랴!
  4. 나는 이 나무를 가지도 무성하게 멋지게 키웠다. 하느님의 동산 에덴에 있는 나무들조차 모두들 부러워하도록.
  5. 그래서 주 야훼가 말한다. 이 나무가 스스로 키 크고, 그 꼭대기 가지가 구름을 뚫을 만큼 높다고 으쓱해져서 우쭐대므로
  1. therefore I will give it into the hand of a despot of the nations; he will thoroughly deal with it According to its wickedness I have driven it away.
  2. "Alien tyrants of the nations have cut it down and left it; on the mountains and in all the valleys its branches have fallen and its boughs have been broken in all the ravines of the land And all the peoples of the earth have gone down from its shade and left it.
  3. "On its ruin all the birds of the heavens will dwell, and all the beasts of the field will be on its fallen branches
  4. so that all the trees by the waters may not be exalted in their stature, nor set their top among the clouds, nor their well-watered mighty ones stand erect in their height. For they have all been given over to death, to the earth beneath, among the sons of men, with those who go down to the pit."
  5. 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "On the day when it went down to Sheol I caused lamentations; I closed the deep over it and held back its rivers. And its many waters were stopped up, and I made Lebanon mourn for it, and all the trees of the field wilted away on account of it.
  1. 내가 이 나무를 뭇 민족을 거느린 우두머리에게 넘겨주었다. 못할 짓을 한 만큼 그대로 갚아, 내쫓은 것이다.
  2. 뭇 민족 가운데서도 포악한 침략자들이 이 나무를 베어 산에 내던졌다. 그래서 잎사귀들은 모든 골짜기에 너저분하고 무성한 가지는 부러져 이 계곡 저 계곡에 흩어졌으며 세상 모든 민족이 이 나무를 내버려두고 그 그늘에서 도망쳐 버렸다.
  3. 그 넘어진 등걸 위에 하늘의 온갖 새가 깃들이고, 그 무성한 가지를 깔고 온갖 들짐승이 살게 되었다.
  4. 물가에서 자라면서도 다시는 꼭대기 가지가 하늘 높이 구름을 뚫고 뻗지 못하리라. 아무리 물을 잘 빨아 마음껏 자라도 넘어지고 말리라. 모두들 지하로 내려갈 죽을 신세, 모든 사람이 가는 그 구렁으로 함께 내려갈 운명이다.
  5. 주 야훼가 말한다. 지하로 내려가던 날, 나는 그 나무를 처넣고 지하의 문을 닫아 걸었다. 그리고 물줄기를 막아 그 많은 물이 터져 나오지 못하게 하였다. 그래서 레바논은 황량해지고 들의 모든 나무는 시들었다.
  1. "I made the nations quake at the sound of its fall when I made it go down to Sheol with those who go down to the pit; and all the well-watered trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, were comforted in the earth beneath.
  2. "They also went down with it to Sheol to those who were slain by the sword; and those who were its strength lived under its shade among the nations.
  3. "To which among the trees of Eden are you thus equal in glory and greatness? Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth beneath; you will lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who were slain by the sword So is Pharaoh and all his hordes!"' declares the Lord GOD."
  1. 지하로 구렁에 내려가는 사람들과 함께 그 나무를 내려보낼 때, 그 떨어지는 소리에 뭇 민족은 놀라서 떨었다. 그제야, 지하에 가 있던 에덴의 모든 나무들과 물이 잘 올라 멋지게 자랐던 레바논의 나무 가운데서도 뛰어나던 나무들이 슬픔을 거두었다.
  2. 이 나무들도 그 나무와 함께 칼에 맞아 죽은 자들이 있는 지하로 내려갔고, 그 그늘에서 살던 것들은 뭇 민족 사이에 흩어져 갔다.
  3. 에덴의 나무들 가운데 너만큼 멋지고 큰 나무가 없었다. 그런데 너도 에덴의 나무들과 함께 지하에 내려가지 않을 수 없었다. 할례받지 않은 자들 사이에 끼여, 칼에 맞아 죽은 자들과 함께 눕는 신세가 되었다. 이는 파라오와 그의 무리를 두고 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.'"
 
  바로를 위한 애가(32:1-32:32)    
 
  1. In the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  2. "Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him, 'You compared yourself to a young lion of the nations, Yet you are like the monster in the seas; And you burst forth in your rivers And muddied the waters with your feet And fouled their rivers.'"
  3. Thus says the Lord GOD, "Now I will spread My net over you With a company of many peoples, And they shall lift you up in My net.
  4. "I will leave you on the land; I will cast you on the open field. And I will cause all the birds of the heavens to dwell on you, And I will satisfy the beasts of the whole earth with you.
  5. "I will lay your flesh on the mountains And fill the valleys with your refuse.
  1. 제십이년 십이월 초하루, 야훼께서 나에게 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 이집트 왕 파라오에게 조가를 읊어주어라. '네가 만방의 사자 같더니 망하고 말았구나. 너는 강물에서 꿈틀꿈틀 네 발로 물을 차며 강물을 흐리던 물 속의 악어 같았다.
  3. 주 야훼가 말한다. 뭇 민족이 모인 가운데서 내가 그물을 펴서 너에게 씌우리니, 민족들이 내가 씌운 그 망으로 너를 끌어올리리라.
  4. 내가 너를 땅바닥에 내동댕이쳐 벌판에 버리면, 하늘의 온갖 새가 네 위에 내려앉고 온갖 들짐승이 너를 배부르게 뜯어 먹으리라.
  5. 너의 살코기를 산에 내다 버리면, 네 몸에서 나온 구더기가 골짜기마다 들끓으리라.
  1. "I will also make the land drink the discharge of your blood As far as the mountains, And the ravines will be full of you.
  2. "And when I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud And the moon will not give its light.
  3. "All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you And will set darkness on your land," Declares the Lord GOD.
  4. "I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples when I bring your destruction among the nations, into lands which you have not known.
  5. "I will make many peoples appalled at you, and their kings will be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they will tremble every moment, every man for his own life, on the day of your fall."
  1. 송장에서 쏟아져 나오는 추깃물이 땅을 적시고 너에게서 흘러 나오는 피로 산들은 물들며 골짜기마다 피로 내를 이루리라.
  2. 네 빛을 끄는 날, 나는 하늘을 가리고, 별들을 침침하게 만들리라. 해를 구름으로 덮고 달도 빛을 잃게 하리라.
  3. 너를 비추던 천체들을 모두 침침하게 만들리니 네 국토는 온통 캄캄해지리라. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  4. 내가 너희를 뭇 민족들에게 사로잡혀 낯선 땅에 끌려가게 하리니, 많은 민족들이 이를 보고 상심하리라.
  5. 뭇 민족이 보는 앞에서 내가 칼을 휘둘러 너희를 무찌르면 그들은 정신을 못 차리고, 왕들은 소름이 끼쳐 어쩔 줄을 모를 것이다. 네가 망하는 날, 모두들 어떻게 하면 제 목숨이라도 건져볼까, 조금도 마음놓지 못하고 벌벌 떨리라.
  1. For thus says the Lord GOD, "The sword of the king of Babylon will come upon you.
  2. "By the swords of the mighty ones I will cause your hordes to fall; all of them are tyrants of the nations, And they will devastate the pride of Egypt, And all its hordes will be destroyed.
  3. "I will also destroy all its cattle from beside many waters; And the foot of man will not muddy them anymore And the hoofs of beasts will not muddy them.
  4. "Then I will make their waters settle And will cause their rivers to run like oil," Declares the Lord GOD.
  5. "When I make the land of Egypt a desolation, And the land is destitute of that which filled it, When I smite all those who live in it, Then they shall know that I am the LORD.
  1. 주 야훼가 말한다. 바빌론 왕이 칼을 들고 너를 쳐들어갈 것이다.
  2. 나는 세상에 다시없이 포악한 군인들을 끌어들여 너희 무리를 무찌르게 할 것이다. 이집트와 그 무리를 전멸시켜 그 거만을 꺾을 것이다.
  3. 큰 물가에 모여들었던 가축들을 거기에서 쓸어버려 사람의 발도 그 물을 흐리지 못하고 짐승의 발굽도 그 물을 흐리지 못하게 하리니,
  4. 물결은 자고 흐름은 기름 같으리라. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  5. 내가 이집트 땅을 쑥밭으로 만들리라. 있는 것을 모조리 빼앗아가고 주민을 모두 쳐죽이면, 그제야 사람들은 내가 야훼임을 알게 되리라.'
  1. "This is a lamentation and they shall chant it. The daughters of the nations shall chant it. Over Egypt and over all her hordes they shall chant it," declares the Lord GOD.
  2. In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth of the month, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  3. "Son of man, wail for the hordes of Egypt and bring it down, her and the daughters of the powerful nations, to the nether world, with those who go down to the pit;
  4. 'Whom do you surpass in beauty? Go down and make your bed with the uncircumcised.'
  5. "They shall fall in the midst of those who are slain by the sword. She is given over to the sword; they have drawn her and all her hordes away.
  1. 이것이 사람들이 읊을 조가이다. 뭇 민족의 딸들이 읊을 조가이다. 이집트와 그 무리들이 망한 다음에 읊을 조가이다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다."
  2. 제십이년 정월 십오일에 야훼께서 나에게 말씀을 내리셨다.
  3. "너 사람아, 너는 울면서 이집트의 무리를 지하로 처넣어라. 권세를 부리는 뭇 민족의 딸들도 구렁에 던져진 자들과 함께 처넣어라.
  4. 네가 무엇이 남보다 잘났더냐? 할례받지 않은 자들에게 내려가 함께 누워 있으려무나.
  5. 그 무리들과 칼에 맞아 죽은 전사자들 있는 곳에 떨어져, 함께 누워 있으려무나.
  1. "The strong among the mighty ones shall speak of him and his helpers from the midst of Sheol, 'They have gone down, they lie still, the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.'
  2. "Assyria is there and all her company; her graves are round about her. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword,
  3. whose graves are set in the remotest parts of the pit and her company is round about her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword, who spread terror in the land of the living.
  4. "Elam is there and all her hordes around her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who went down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth, who instilled their terror in the land of the living and bore their disgrace with those who went down to the pit.
  5. "They have made a bed for her among the slain with all her hordes. Her graves are around it, they are all uncircumcised, slain by the sword (although their terror was instilled in the land of the living), and they bore their disgrace with those who go down to the pit; they were put in the midst of the slain.
  1. 땅 속에 내려가 있던 용사들이 '저것들도 졸개들과 함께 칼에 맞아 죽은 전사자들에게 내려와 할례받지 않은 자들과 함께 누워 있구나.' 하며 비웃는다.
  2. 아시리아의 둘레에는 칼에 맞아 죽은 그의 무리도 함께 묻혔구나.
  3. 아시리아가 묻힌 저 구렁 깊은 곳, 그 주변에는 그 무리도 묻혀 있구나. 생명 있는 이 세상에서 사람들이 그들을 무서워하더니, 마침내 저희도 칼에 맞아 쓰러졌구나.
  4. 거기에는 엘람도 묻혀 있구나. 그 주변에는 그 무리도 함께 묻혀 있구나. 모두 칼에 맞아 쓰러져 저 지하로, 할례받지 않은 자들 있는 곳으로 내려갔구나. 생명 있는 이 세상에서 사람들이 그들을 무서워하더니, 구렁에 던져진 자들과 같은 수치를 받게 되었구나.
  5. 엘람도 죽은 자들 가운데 누울 곳을 얻었고 그 무리도 그의 무덤 둘레에 누울 자리를 얻었구나. 모두 할례받지 않은 몸으로, 칼에 맞아 죽었구나. 생명 있는 이 세상에서 사람들이 그들을 무서워하더니 마침내 저희도 칼에 맞아 죽은 전사자들 틈에 끼게 되었고 구렁에 던져진 자들과 같은 수치를 받게 되었구나.
  1. "Meshech, Tubal and all their hordes are there; their graves surround them All of them were slain by the sword uncircumcised, though they instilled their terror in the land of the living.
  2. "Nor do they lie beside the fallen heroes of the uncircumcised, who went down to Sheol with their weapons of war and whose swords were laid under their heads; but the punishment for their iniquity rested on their bones, though the terror of these heroes was once in the land of the living.
  3. "But in the midst of the uncircumcised you will be broken and lie with those slain by the sword.
  4. "There also is Edom, its kings and all its princes, who for all their might are laid with those slain by the sword; they will lie with the uncircumcised and with those who go down to the pit.
  5. "There also are the chiefs of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who in spite of the terror resulting from their might, in shame went down with the slain. So they lay down uncircumcised with those slain by the sword and bore their disgrace with those who go down to the pit.
  1. 거기에는 메섹과 두발도 묻혀 있구나. 그 주변에는 그의 무리도 함께 묻혔구나. 모두들 할례받지 않은 몸으로 칼에 맞아 죽은 것들이다. 생명 있는 세상에서는 사람들이 그들을 무서워하더니.
  2. 이들은 먼 옛날에 죽어 제 무기를 가지고 지하로 내려간 용사들, 머리에는 칼을 베고 몸은 방패로 덮은 용사들과는 한자리에 눕지 못한다. 생명 있는 이 세상에서는 사람들이 용사들을 두려워하더니.
  3. 그런데, 너는 칼에 맞아 죽은 전사자들과 함께 할례받지 않은 자들 틈에 끼여 눕겠구나.
  4. 거기에는 에돔도 그 왕들과 수령들과 함께 있구나. 그토록 용맹하더니, 칼에 맞아 죽은 전사자들과 함께 누워 있구나. 할례받지 않은 자들, 구렁에 던져진 자들과 함께 누워 있구나.
  5. 북방의 장군들과 시돈 사람들도 모두 거기에 있구나. 그토록 용맹하여 남에게 겁을 주더니, 전사자들과 함께 수치스럽게 내려가, 할례받지 않은 몸으로 칼에 맞아 죽은 전사자들, 구렁에 던져진 자들과 함께 누워 있구나.
  1. "These Pharaoh will see, and he will be comforted for all his hordes slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his army," declares the Lord GOD.
  2. "Though I instilled a terror of him in the land of the living, yet he will be made to lie down among the uncircumcised along with those slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his hordes," declares the Lord GOD.
  1. 파라오는 자기의 모든 무리들을 생각하여 슬퍼하다가 이들을 보고 나서는 슬픔을 거두리라. 파라오와 그의 모든 군대는 칼에 맞아 죽을 것이다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  2. 파라오는 생명 있는 이 세상에서 사람들을 두려워하게 했으므로 그의 모든 무리들과 함께 칼에 맞아 죽은 전사자들, 할례받지 않은 자들 가운데 끼여 눕게 되리라. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다."
