아모스

  아모스가 활동할 당시의 북이스라엘은 경제적으로는 번영을 누렸으나 부정과 부패, 우상 숭배가 만연하였다. 이에 아모스는 하나님의 심판의 날을 선포하면서 백성들에게 공의를 행할 것과 하나님께 돌아올 것을 외쳤다.

  1장부터 2장까지는 유다를 포함한 이스라엘의 주변 7개 국가를 향한 심판의 메시지를 선포하고 있다. 그리고 3장부터 6장까지는 이스라엘에 임할 하나님의 심판의 불가피성을 밝힌 후, 심판을 피하는 길로 야웨 하나님을 찾고 공의를 행할 것을 외치고 있다. 7장부터 9장까지는 지금까지 예언한 이스라엘 멸망의 모습을 다섯 가지 환상을 통해 확인하면서 남은 자들의 회복과 메시아 왕국에 대한 하나님의 약속을 전하고 있다.

 

 

아모스 1:1-3:15

 아모스는 다메섹, 가사, 두로, 에돔, 암몬, 모압의 여섯 이방 나라와 남유다와 북이스라엘을 향해 하나님의 심판을 선포하였다. 이방 나라들은 서너 가지의 죄를 범했을 뿐 아니라 이스라엘을 대적했기에 하나님의 심판을 받게 되었다. 그리고 남유다는 야웨의 율법을 멸시하고 어긴 죄로, 북이스라엘은 사회적 불의와 우상 신전에서 가증한 짓을 행한 죄로 하나님의 심판을 받게 되었다.
  
  이방 나라의 심판(1:1-2:3)    
 
  1. The words of Amos, who was among the sheepherders from Tekoa, which he envisioned in visions concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
  2. He said, "The LORD roars from Zion And from Jerusalem He utters His voice; And the shepherds' pasture grounds mourn, And the summit of Carmel dries up."
  3. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Damascus and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they threshed Gilead with implements of sharp iron.
  4. "So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael And it will consume the citadels of Ben-hadad.
  5. "I will also break the gate bar of Damascus, And cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, And him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden; So the people of Aram will go exiled to Kir," Says the LORD.
  1. 드고아에서 양을 치던 목자 아모스의 예언집. 그는 이스라엘이 어찌 될지 계시를 받고 그대로 예언하였다. 우찌야가 유다에서, 요아스의 아들 여로보암이 이스라엘에서 왕위에 앉아 있던 때로 지진이 있기 바로 이 년 전이었다.
  2. 아모스가 말했다. 야훼, 시온에서, 예루살렘에서 큰소리로 부르짖으시니 양떼 풀 뜯던 목장이 탄다. 가르멜 산마루의 풀이 시든다.
  3. "나 야훼가 선고한다. 다마스쿠스가 지은 죄, 그 쌓이고 쌓인 죄 때문에 나는 다마스쿠스를 벌하고야 말리라. 쇠꼬챙이 박힌 타작기를 돌리며 길르앗 주민을 짓바순 죄 때문이다.
  4. 하자엘의 대궐에 불을 질러 벤하닷의 궁궐들을 살라버리리라.
  5. 다마스쿠스 성의 빗장을 부수고 아웬 평야에 군림한 자, 베데덴에서 왕권 잡은 자를 죽이고 아람 백성을 키르로 잡혀가게 하리라. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  1. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Gaza and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they deported an entire population To deliver it up to Edom.
  2. "So I will send fire upon the wall of Gaza And it will consume her citadels.
  3. "I will also cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, And him who holds the scepter, from Ashkelon; I will even unleash My power upon Ekron, And the remnant of the Philistines will perish," Says the Lord GOD.
  4. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Tyre and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they delivered up an entire population to Edom And did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.
  5. "So I will send fire upon the wall of Tyre And it will consume her citadels."
  1. 나 야훼가 선고한다. 가자가 지은 죄, 그 쌓이고 쌓인 죄 때문에 나는 가자를 벌하고야 말리라. 사람들을 마구 잡아다가 에돔에 팔아 넘긴 죄 때문이다.
  2. 가자 성에 불을 질러 그 궁궐들을 살라버리리라.
  3. 아스돗에 군림한 자, 아스클론에서 왕권 잡은 자를 죽이고 손을 돌이켜 에크론을 쳐, 남아 있는 불레셋 사람을 다 멸하리라. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  4. 나 야훼가 선고한다. 띠로가 지은 죄, 그 쌓이고 쌓인 죄 때문에 나는 띠로를 벌하고야 말리라. 의형제를 맺고는 그 약조를 저버리고 사람들을 온통 사로잡아 에돔에 팔아 넘긴 죄 때문이다.
  5. 띠로 성에 불을 지르고 그 궁궐들을 살라버리리라.
  1. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Edom and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because he pursued his brother with the sword, While he stifled his compassion; His anger also tore continually, And he maintained his fury forever.
  2. "So I will send fire upon Teman And it will consume the citadels of Bozrah."
  3. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead In order to enlarge their borders.
  4. "So I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah And it will consume her citadels Amid war cries on the day of battle, And a storm on the day of tempest.
  5. "Their king will go into exile, He and his princes together," says the LORD.
  1. 나 야훼가 선고한다. 에돔이 지은 죄, 그 쌓이고 쌓인 죄 때문에 나는 에돔을 벌하고야 말리라. 동기간의 정을 끊고 칼로 겨누며 달려들었다. 사뭇 증오심에 불타 올라 끝내 앙심을 풀지 않은 죄 때문이다.
  2. 데만에 불을 지르고 보스라의 궁궐들을 살라버리리라.
  3. 나 야훼가 선고한다. 암몬이 지은 죄, 그 쌓이고 쌓인 죄 때문에 나는 암몬을 벌하고야 말리라. 길르앗에서 임신한 여인의 배까지 가르며 영토를 넓힌 죄 때문이다.
  4. 라빠 성에 불을 질러 그 궁궐들을 살라버리리라. 전쟁이 터지는 날, 함성과 함께 살라버리리라. 폭풍이 몰아치는 날, 회리바람과 함께 살라버리고,
  5. 백성을 다스리던 왕은 귀족들과 함께 사로잡혀 가게 하리라. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
 
 
  1. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Moab and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
  2. "So I will send fire upon Moab And it will consume the citadels of Kerioth; And Moab will die amid tumult, With war cries and the sound of a trumpet.
  3. "I will also cut off the judge from her midst And slay all her princes with him," says the LORD.
  1. 나 야훼가 선고한다. 모압이 지은 죄, 그 쌓이고 쌓인 죄 때문에 나는 모압을 벌하고야 말리라. 죽은 에돔 왕의 뼈까지 태워 재를 만든 죄 때문이다.
  2. 모압에 불을 질러 크리욧의 궁궐들을 살라버리리라. 고함 소리 천지를 뒤흔들고 함성이 터지며 나팔 소리 요란한 가운데 모압 백성은 죽어가리라.
  3. 집권자들을 고관들과 함께 죽여버리리라. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
 
  남유다와 북이스라엘의 심판(2:4-3:15)    
 
  1. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Judah and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they rejected the law of the LORD And have not kept His statutes; Their lies also have led them astray, Those after which their fathers walked.
  2. "So I will send fire upon Judah And it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem."
  3. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Israel and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for money And the needy for a pair of sandals.
  4. "These who pant after the very dust of the earth on the head of the helpless Also turn aside the way of the humble; And a man and his father resort to the same girl In order to profane My holy name.
  5. "On garments taken as pledges they stretch out beside every altar, And in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.
  1. 나 야훼가 선고한다. 유다가 지은 죄, 그 쌓이고 쌓인 죄 때문에 나는 유다를 벌하고야 말리라. 야훼의 법을 거부하고 그 규정을 지키지 않은 죄 때문이다. 선조들이 따르던 거짓 신들에게 미혹된 죄 때문이다.
  2. 유다에 불을 지르고 예루살렘의 궁궐들을 살라버리리라.
  3. 나 야훼가 선고한다. 이스라엘이 지은 죄, 그 쌓이고 쌓인 죄 때문에 나는 이스라엘을 벌하고야 말리라. 죄없는 사람을 빚돈에 종으로 팔아 넘기고, 미투리 한 켤레 값에 가난한 사람을 팔아 넘긴 죄 때문이다.
  4. 너희는 힘없는 자의 머리를 땅에다 짓이기고 가뜩이나 기를 못 펴는 사람을 길에서 밀쳐낸다. 아비와 아들이 한 여자에게 드나들어 나의 거룩한 이름을 더럽힌다.
  5. 저당물로 잡은 겉옷을 제단들 옆에 펴놓고 그 위에 뒹굴며, 벌금으로 받은 술을 저희의 신당에서 마신다.
  1. "Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Though his height was like the height of cedars And he was strong as the oaks; I even destroyed his fruit above and his root below.
  2. "It was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And I led you in the wilderness forty years That you might take possession of the land of the Amorite.
  3. "Then I raised up some of your sons to be prophets And some of your young men to be Nazirites. Is this not so, O sons of Israel?" declares the LORD.
  4. "But you made the Nazirites drink wine, And you commanded the prophets saying, 'You shall not prophesy!'
  5. "Behold, I am weighted down beneath you As a wagon is weighted down when filled with sheaves.
  1. 아모리인들은 그 키가 잣나무 같았고 힘이 상수리나무 같았으나, 나는 그 열매를 가지째 땄고 뿌리를 송두리째 뽑아버렸다.
  2. 누가 너희를 이집트에서 구해 내었느냐? 내가 아니었더냐? 나는 너희를 사십 년 동안 광야에서 이끌어주었고 아모리족을 너희 앞에서 멸해 버렸다.
  3. 너희의 자손들을 예언자로 세웠고 젊은이들은 나지르인으로 삼았다. 이스라엘 사람들아, 사실이 그렇지 아니하냐? -야훼의 말씀이시다.
  4. 그러나 너희는 나지르인에게 술을 먹이고 예언자에게 입을 다물라고 명령하였다.
  5. 보아라, 내가 너희를 무거운 짐을 싣고 뭉그적거리는 송아지 꼴로 만들리라.
  1. "Flight will perish from the swift, And the stalwart will not strengthen his power, Nor the mighty man save his life.
  2. "He who grasps the bow will not stand his ground, The swift of foot will not escape, Nor will he who rides the horse save his life.
  3. "Even the bravest among the warriors will flee naked in that day," declares the LORD.
  1. 아무리 걸음이 빨라도 달아나지 못하고 아무리 힘이 세어도 그 힘을 써보지 못하고 아무리 장사라도 목숨을 건지지 못하리라.
  2. 아무리 활 잘 쏘는 군인이라도 별 수 없고 아무리 발이 빨라도 살아날 길 없고 아무리 말을 잘 타도 목숨을 건지지 못하리라.
  3. 그 날이 오면, 아무리 용감한 장사라도 맨몸으로 도망치리라. -야훼의 말씀이시다.
 
 
  1. Hear this word which the LORD has spoken against you, sons of Israel, against the entire family which He brought up from the land of Egypt:
  2. "You only have I chosen among all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities."
  3. Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment?
  4. Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion growl from his den unless he has captured something?
  5. Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground when there is no bait in it? Does a trap spring up from the earth when it captures nothing at all?
  1. 이스라엘 백성들아, 들어라. 내가 친히 이집트에서 데려내온 이 백성들아, 너희를 두고 하는 나 야훼의 말을 다들 들어라.
  2. 세상 많은 민족들 가운데서 내가 너희만을 골라내었건만 너희는 온갖 못할 짓을 다 하니 어찌 벌하지 않으랴?"
  3. 두 사람이 길을 같이 간다면, 미리 약속되어 있는 것이 아니겠느냐?
  4. 사자가 잡아먹을 것이 없는데도 숲 속에서 으르렁거리겠느냐? 사자가 움켜잡은 것이 없는데도 굴 속에서 소리를 지르겠느냐?
  5. 미끼가 없는데도 새가 창애에 내려와 걸리겠느냐? 아무것도 걸리지 않았는데 창애가 퉁겨 오르겠느냐?
  1. If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the LORD done it?
  2. Surely the Lord GOD does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets.
  3. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?
  4. Proclaim on the citadels in Ashdod and on the citadels in the land of Egypt and say, "Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see the great tumults within her and the oppressions in her midst.
  5. "But they do not know how to do what is right," declares the LORD, "these who hoard up violence and devastation in their citadels."
  1. 성 안에서 비상 나팔이 울리는데 놀라지 않을 자 있겠느냐? 성 안을 휩쓰는 재앙, 야훼께서 내리시는 것이 아니겠느냐?
  2. 당신의 종 예언자들에게 속을 털어놓지 않으시고는 주 야훼, 아무 일도 하지 않으신다.
  3. 사자가 으르렁거리는데 겁내지 않을 자 있겠느냐? 주 야훼께서 말씀하시는데, 그 말씀 전하지 않을 자 있겠느냐?
  4. "아시리아의 궁궐에 말을 전하여라. 이집트의 궁궐에 말을 전하여라. 모두들 사마리아 언덕에 올라와 보게. 그 안엔 억울한 일들뿐, 온통 뒤죽박죽일세.
  5. 바른 일 하려는 사람은 하나도 없구나. -야훼의 말씀이시다. 궁궐에는 권력으로 남을 등쳐먹는 자들뿐이다.'
  1. Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, "An enemy, even one surrounding the land, Will pull down your strength from you And your citadels will be looted."
  2. Thus says the LORD, "Just as the shepherd snatches from the lion's mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, So will the sons of Israel dwelling in Samaria be snatched away-- With the corner of a bed and the cover of a couch!
  3. "Hear and testify against the house of Jacob," Declares the Lord GOD, the God of hosts.
  4. "For on the day that I punish Israel's transgressions, I will also punish the altars of Bethel; The horns of the altar will be cut off And they will fall to the ground.
  5. "I will also smite the winter house together with the summer house; The houses of ivory will also perish And the great houses will come to an end," Declares the LORD.
  1. 그러므로 나 야훼가 선언한다. 적이 사방에서 이 땅에 몰아쳐와, 축성들을 허물고 궁궐들을 약탈하리라.
  2. 나 야훼가 선고한다. 양이 사자에게 잡아먹혀도, 목자는 남은 두 종아리뼈나 귀 한 조각만이라도 건져내지 않느냐? 이스라엘 백성도 그와 같이 남으리라. 멋진 침대, 화려한 잠자리에서 뒹구는 사마리아 사람들아,
  3. 이 말을 듣고 야곱 가문에게 똑똑히 일러라. -주 만군의 하느님 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  4. 나를 거슬러 죄짓는 이스라엘을 찾아가는 날, 내가 베델의 제단에 벌을 내리리라. 그 제단의 뿔들을 때려부수어 땅바닥에 흩어버리리라.
  5. 겨울 별장, 여름 별장을 쳐부수리니, 상아로 꾸몄던 집들이 자취 없이 사라지고 고래등 같던 집들도 간데없이 되리라." -야훼의 말씀이시다.
