사사기 10:1-11:40

 돌라와 야일의 지도하에 평온한 시기를 지내던 이스라엘이 우상 숭배에 빠져 방종하자 하나님께서 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람에게 고통당하게 하셨다. 그러나 이스라엘의 곤고를 보신 하나님은 입다를 통해 구원하셨다. 입다는 암몬과의 전투에서 승리하여 이스라엘을 구원했으나 경솔한 서원을 하여 딸을 잃고 말았다.
  
  암몬 자손의 침략(10:1-10:18)    
 
  1. Now after Abimelech died, Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, arose to save Israel; and he lived in Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim.
  2. He judged Israel twenty-three years. Then he died and was buried in Shamir.
  3. After him, Jair the Gileadite arose and judged Israel twenty-two years.
  4. He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys, and they had thirty cities in the land of Gilead that are called Havvoth-jair to this day.
  5. And Jair died and was buried in Kamon.
  1. 아비멜렉이 죽은 후 잇사갈 지파 사람, 도도의 손자이며 부아의 아들인 돌라가 나타나 이스라엘을 구원하였다. 그는 에브라임 산간 지대의 사밀에 살면서
  2. 23년 동안 이스라엘의 사사가 되어 다스리다가 죽어 사밀에 장사되었다.

  1. Then the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; thus they forsook the LORD and did not serve Him.
  2. The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the sons of Ammon.
  3. They afflicted and crushed the sons of Israel that year; for eighteen years they afflicted all the sons of Israel who were beyond the Jordan in Gilead in the land of the Amorites.
  4. The sons of Ammon crossed the Jordan to fight also against Judah, Benjamin, and the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was greatly distressed.
  5. Then the sons of Israel cried out to the LORD, saying, "We have sinned against You, for indeed, we have forsaken our God and served the Baals."
  1. 이스라엘 백성은 다시 여호와 앞에서 악을 행하였다. 그들은 바알들과 아스다롯과 그리고 시리아, 시돈, 모압, 암몬, 블레셋 사람의 신들을 섬겼으며 여호와를 버리고 더 이상 그를 섬기지 않았다.
  2. 그래서 여호와께서는 이스라엘 백성에게 노하셔서 그들을 블레셋 사람과 암몬 사람의 지배를 받게 하셨다.
  3. 그들은 요단강 동쪽 아모리 사람의 땅인 길르앗에 사는 모든 이스라엘 사람을 18년 동안 학대하였다.

  1. The LORD said to the sons of Israel, "Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the sons of Ammon, and the Philistines?
  2. "Also when the Sidonians, the Amalekites and the Maonites oppressed you, you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hands.
  3. "Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods; therefore I will no longer deliver you.
  4. "Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your distress."
  5. The sons of Israel said to the LORD, "We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please deliver us this day."
  1. 그래서 여호와께서 이렇게 대답하셨다. '이집트 사람, 아모리 사람, 암몬 사람, 블레셋 사람,
  2. 시돈 사람, 아말렉 사람, 마온 사람이 너희를 괴롭힐 때 너희가 도와 달라고 나에게 부르짖기에 내가 너희를 그들의 손에서 구해 주지 않았느냐?
  3. 그러나 너희는 나를 저버리고 다른 신을 섬겼다. 그래서 내가 다시는 너희를 구해 주지 않을 것이다.
  4. 너희는 너희가 택한 신들에게 가서 부르짖어 너희가 고통을 당할 때 너희를 구하게 하라'
  5. 그러나 이스라엘 사람들은 여호와께 이렇게 간청하였다. '우리가 범죄하였습니다. 주께서 좋으실 대로 하십시오. 그러나 이번만은 우리를 구해 주소서.'
  1. So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the LORD; and He could bear the misery of Israel no longer.
  2. Then the sons of Ammon were summoned and they camped in Gilead. And the sons of Israel gathered together and camped in Mizpah.
  3. The people, the leaders of Gilead, said to one another, "Who is the man who will begin to fight against the sons of Ammon? He shall become head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."
  1. 그리고서 그들은 외국의 신들을 없애버리고 여호와를 섬겼다. 그러자 여호와께서는 이스라엘의 고통을 보시고 마음 아파하셨다.
  2. 그때 암몬 사람들이 병력을 소집하고 길르앗에 포진하였다. 그래서 이스라엘 사람들도 모여서 미스바에 진을 쳤다.
  3. 이때 길르앗 땅에 있는 이스라엘 지도자들이 서로 물었다. '누가 먼저 나가서 암몬 사람들과 싸우겠느냐? 누구든지 먼저 나가 싸우는 자가 우리의 통치자가 될 것이다'
 
  입다의 서원(11:1-11:40)    
 
  1. Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a valiant warrior, but he was the son of a harlot. And Gilead was the father of Jephthah.
  2. Gilead's wife bore him sons; and when his wife's sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out and said to him, "You shall not have an inheritance in our father's house, for you are the son of another woman."
  3. So Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob; and worthless fellows gathered themselves about Jephthah, and they went out with him.
  4. It came about after a while that the sons of Ammon fought against Israel.
  5. When the sons of Ammon fought against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah from the land of Tob;
  1. 길르앗 사람 입다는 뛰어난 용사였다. 그의 아버지는 길르앗이었으며 그의 어머니는 창녀였다.
  2. 그리고 길르앗의 아내도 여러 아들을 낳았는데 그들이 자라자 입다를 쫓아내며 말하였다. '너는 다른 여자의 아들이므로 우리 가족의 유산을 물려받지 못할 것이다'

  1. and they said to Jephthah, "Come and be our chief that we may fight against the sons of Ammon."
  2. Then Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "Did you not hate me and drive me from my father's house? So why have you come to me now when you are in trouble?"
  3. The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "For this reason we have now returned to you, that you may go with us and fight with the sons of Ammon and become head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."
  4. So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you take me back to fight against the sons of Ammon and the LORD gives them up to me, will I become your head?"
  5. The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "The LORD is witness between us; surely we will do as you have said."
  1. 그에게 말하였다. '우리가 암몬 사람들과 싸우려고 하는데 당신이 우리의 사령관이 되어 주시오.'
  2. '당신들은 나를 미워하여 내 아버지 집에서 쫓아내지 않았소? 그런데 어째서 당신들이 어려움을 당한다고 나를 찾아왔소?'
  3. '우리가 당신을 찾아오게 된 것은 당신이 꼭 필요하기 때문이오. 우리와 함께 가서 암몬 사람들과 싸웁시다. 그러면 당신이 길르앗 사람의 통치자가 될 것이오.'
  4. '그것이 정말입니까? 당신들이 나를 고향으로 데리고 가서 암몬 사람들과 싸우게 하고 또 여호와께서 나에게 승리를 주신다면 내가 진짜 당신들의 통치자가 되는 겁니까?'
  5. '여호와께서 우리의 증인이오. 우리가 틀림없이 당신이 말한 대로 하겠소'
  1. Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and chief over them; and Jephthah spoke all his words before the LORD at Mizpah.
  2. Now Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the sons of Ammon, saying, "What is between you and me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?"
  3. The king of the sons of Ammon said to the messengers of Jephthah, "Because Israel took away my land when they came up from Egypt, from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok and the Jordan; therefore, return them peaceably now."
  4. But Jephthah sent messengers again to the king of the sons of Ammon,
  5. and they said to him, "Thus says Jephthah, 'Israel did not take away the land of Moab nor the land of the sons of Ammon.
  1. 그래서 입다는 길르앗 지도자들을 따라갔고 그 곳 백성들은 그를 통치자와 사령관으로 삼았다. 그리고 입다는 미스바에서 그 계약 조건을 모두 여호와께 말씀드렸다.
  2. 그리고서 입다는 암몬 왕에게 사신을 보내 왜 이스라엘과 싸우려고 하는 지 그 이유를 밝히라고 요구하였다.
  3. 그러자 암몬 왕이 입다의 사신들에게 대답하였다. '너희 이스라엘 사람들이 이집트에서 나왔을 때 아르논강에서부터 얍복강과 요단강에 이르는 내 땅을 모두 빼앗아 갔다. 그러니 이제 그 땅을 순순히 내어 놓아라.'
  4. 그래서 입다는 사신들을 암몬 왕에게 다시 보내며
  5. 이렇게 말하였다. '이스라엘은 모압 땅과 암몬 땅을 빼앗지 않았다.
  1. 'For when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea and came to Kadesh,
  2. then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, "Please let us pass through your land," but the king of Edom would not listen And they also sent to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel remained at Kadesh.
  3. 'Then they went through the wilderness and around the land of Edom and the land of Moab, and came to the east side of the land of Moab, and they camped beyond the Arnon; but they did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.
  4. 'And Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon, and Israel said to him, "Please let us pass through your land to our place."
  5. 'But Sihon did not trust Israel to pass through his territory; so Sihon gathered all his people and camped in Jahaz and fought with Israel.
  1. 우리 조상들이 이집트에서 나와 홍해를 건넌 다음 광야를 지나 가데스에 이르렀을 때
  2. 그들은 에돔 왕에게 사람을 보내 에돔 땅을 통과하게 해달라고 간청하였다. 그러나 그는 허락해 주지 않았다. 그리고 모압 왕에게도 사람을 보냈으나 그도 거절하였다. 그래서 우리 조상들은 가데스에 머물러 있게 되었다.
  3. 그 후에 그들은 광야를 지나 에돔 땅과 모압 땅을 돌아서 모압 땅 동쪽을 지나 아르논강 맞은편에 진을 쳤다. 그들이 아르논강을 건너가지 않은 것은 그것이 모압의 경계였기 때문이었다.
  4. 그런 다음 그들은 헤스본에서 통치하던 아모리 왕 시혼에게도 사람을 보내 그 땅을 통과할 수 있게 해 달라고 간청하였으나
  5. 시혼은 이스라엘을 믿지 않고 병력을 동원하여 야하스에 진을 치고 그들을 공격하였다.
  1. 'The LORD, the God of Israel, gave Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they defeated them; so Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.
  2. 'So they possessed all the territory of the Amorites, from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok, and from the wilderness as far as the Jordan.
  3. 'Since now the LORD, the God of Israel, drove out the Amorites from before His people Israel, are you then to possess it?
  4. 'Do you not possess what Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whatever the LORD our God has driven out before us, we will possess it.
  5. 'Now are you any better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever strive with Israel, or did he ever fight against them?
  1. 그러나 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 시혼 왕과 그의 백성을 이스라엘 사람의 손에 넘겨 주셨으므로 이스라엘군이 그들을 쳐부수고 남쪽 아르논강에서부터 북쪽 얍복강까지와 그리고 동쪽 광야에서부터 서쪽 요단강까지에 이르는 아모리 사람의 모든 땅을 점령하였다.
  2. (21절과 같음)
  3. 이와 같이 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 자기 백성 이스라엘 앞에서 아모리 사람을 쫓아내셨는데 네가 무슨 권리로 그 땅을 요구하느냐?
  4. 너 같으면 너의 신 그모스가 너에게 주는 땅을 갖지 않겠느냐? 마찬가지로 우리도 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리에게 주신 땅을 소유할 것이다.
  5. 네가 모압 왕 십볼의 아들 발락보다 나은 것이 무엇이냐? 그가 이스라엘과 다투거나 싸운 적이 있었느냐?
  1. 'While Israel lived in Heshbon and its villages, and in Aroer and its villages, and in all the cities that are on the banks of the Arnon, three hundred years, why did you not recover them within that time?
  2. 'I therefore have not sinned against you, but you are doing me wrong by making war against me; may the LORD, the Judge, judge today between the sons of Israel and the sons of Ammon.'"
  3. But the king of the sons of Ammon disregarded the message which Jephthah sent him.
  4. Now the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, so that he passed through Gilead and Manasseh; then he passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he went on to the sons of Ammon.
  5. Jephthah made a vow to the LORD and said, "If You will indeed give the sons of Ammon into my hand,
  1. 이스라엘 사람이 헤스본과 그 주변 부락들과 아로엘과 그 주변 부락들, 그리고 아르논 강변의 모든 성에 300년 동안이나 살았는데 어째서 너희는 그 동안에 그 땅을 되찾지 않았느냐?
  2. 그러므로 내가 너에게 아무것도 잘못할 것이 없는데도 네가 전쟁을 일으켜 나를 해하려고 하는구나. 그러나 심판자이신 여호와께서 이스라엘 사람과 암몬 사람 사이에 옳고 그름을 곧 가려 주실 것이다'
  3. 그러나 암몬 왕은 입다의 말에 전혀 귀를 기울이지 않았다.
  4. 바로 그때 여호와의 성령께서 입다를 감동시키시므로 그가 군대를 이끌고 길르앗과 므낫세 땅을 건너 길르앗 땅에 있는 미스바를 지나 암몬 군대를 향해 진군하였다.
  5. 그때 입다가 여호와께 이렇게 맹세하였다. '만일 주께서 암몬 사람을 내 손에 넘겨 주시면 내가 승리하고 집으로 돌아갈 때 누구든지 내 집에서 제일 먼저 나와 나를 영접하는 자를 내가 주께 바쳐 번제물로 드리겠습니다.'
  1. then it shall be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the sons of Ammon, it shall be the LORD'S, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering."
  2. So Jephthah crossed over to the sons of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD gave them into his hand.
  3. He struck them with a very great slaughter from Aroer to the entrance of Minnith, twenty cities, and as far as Abel-keramim. So the sons of Ammon were subdued before the sons of Israel.
  4. When Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, behold, his daughter was coming out to meet him with tambourines and with dancing. Now she was his one and only child; besides her he had no son or daughter.
  5. When he saw her, he tore his clothes and said, "Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low, and you are among those who trouble me; for I have given my word to the LORD, and I cannot take it back."

  2. 그리고서 입다가 나가 암몬 사람과 싸우자 여호와께서 그들을 입다의 손에 넘겨 주셨으므로
  3. 그는 아로엘에서 민닛까지 20개의 성과 멀리 아벨-그라밈까지 암몬 사람들을 쳐서 무참하게 죽였다. 그래서 암몬 사람들은 결국 이스라엘 사람들에게 항복하고 말았다.
  4. 입다가 미스바에 있는 자기 집으로 돌아왔을 때 무남 독녀인 자기 딸이 그를 맞으려고 소고를 치며 춤을 추고 나오지 않겠는가!
  5. 입다는 딸을 보는 순간 자기 옷을 찢으며 부르짖었다. '슬프다, 내 딸이여! 네가 내 마음을 갈기 갈기 찢어 놓는구나. 어째서 네가 나를 괴롭히는 자가 되었느냐? 내가 여호와께 맹세한 것을 어떻게 어길 수 있단 말인가!'
  1. So she said to him, "My father, you have given your word to the LORD; do to me as you have said, since the LORD has avenged you of your enemies, the sons of Ammon."
  2. She said to her father, "Let this thing be done for me; let me alone two months, that I may go to the mountains and weep because of my virginity, I and my companions."
  3. Then he said, "Go." So he sent her away for two months; and she left with her companions, and wept on the mountains because of her virginity.
  4. At the end of two months she returned to her father, who did to her according to the vow which he had made; and she had no relations with a man. Thus it became a custom in Israel,
  5. that the daughters of Israel went yearly to commemorate the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in the year.
  1. 그때 딸이 아버지에게 대답하였다. '아버지, 아버지께서는 여호와께 맹세하셨습니다. 그러니 맹세하신 대로 나에게 행하십시오. 여호와께서 아버지의 대적 암몬 사람들에게 원수를 갚아주지 않으셨습니까?
  2. 그러나 한 가지 부탁이 있습니다. 나에게 두 달 만 여유를 주셔서 내 친구들과 함께 산으로 올라가서 내가 영영 처녀 신세가 된 것을 슬퍼하며 울게 해 주십시오.'
  3. 그러자 아버지는 딸에게 그렇게 하라고 말하며 두 달 동안의 여유를 주었다. 그래서 입다의 딸은 친구들과 함께 산으로 올라가서 영영 처녀 신세가 된 것을 슬퍼하고
  4. 두 달 만에 자기 아버지에게 돌아왔다 입다는 자기가 맹세한 것을 이행하였으며 그 딸은 영영 처녀 신세가 되고 말았다. 이것이 관례가 되어
  5. 이스라엘 여자들이 해마다 그 산으로 가서 길르앗 사람 입다의 딸을 생각하며 4일 동안 울고 슬퍼하였다.
