사사기 10:1-11:40

 돌라와 야일의 지도하에 평온한 시기를 지내던 이스라엘이 우상 숭배에 빠져 방종하자 하나님께서 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람에게 고통당하게 하셨다. 그러나 이스라엘의 곤고를 보신 하나님은 입다를 통해 구원하셨다. 입다는 암몬과의 전투에서 승리하여 이스라엘을 구원했으나 경솔한 서원을 하여 딸을 잃고 말았다.
  
  암몬 자손의 침략(10:1-10:18)    
 
  1. Now after Abimelech died, Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, arose to save Israel; and he lived in Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim.
  2. He judged Israel twenty-three years. Then he died and was buried in Shamir.
  3. After him, Jair the Gileadite arose and judged Israel twenty-two years.
  4. He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys, and they had thirty cities in the land of Gilead that are called Havvoth-jair to this day.
  5. And Jair died and was buried in Kamon.
  1. 아비멜렉 다음에는 잇사갈 지파 사람 도도의 손자이며 부아의 아들인 돌라가 일어나 이스라엘을 구원하였는데, 그는 에브라임의 산간지방에 있는 사밀에 살고 있었다.

  1. Then the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; thus they forsook the LORD and did not serve Him.
  2. The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the sons of Ammon.
  3. They afflicted and crushed the sons of Israel that year; for eighteen years they afflicted all the sons of Israel who were beyond the Jordan in Gilead in the land of the Amorites.
  4. The sons of Ammon crossed the Jordan to fight also against Judah, Benjamin, and the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was greatly distressed.
  5. Then the sons of Israel cried out to the LORD, saying, "We have sinned against You, for indeed, we have forsaken our God and served the Baals."
  1. 이스라엘 자손이 다시 주님께서 보시는 앞에서 악을 저질렀다. 그들은 바알 신들과 아스다롯과 시리아의 신들과 시돈의 신들과 모압의 신들과 암몬 사람의 신들과 블레셋 사람의 신들을 섬기고, 주님을 저버려, 더 이상 주님을 섬기지 않았다.
  2. 그러므로 주님께서 이스라엘 백성에게 진노하시어, 그들을 블레셋 사람과 암몬 사람의 손에 내어주시니,

  1. The LORD said to the sons of Israel, "Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the sons of Ammon, and the Philistines?
  2. "Also when the Sidonians, the Amalekites and the Maonites oppressed you, you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hands.
  3. "Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods; therefore I will no longer deliver you.
  4. "Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your distress."
  5. The sons of Israel said to the LORD, "We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please deliver us this day."
  1. 주님께서 이스라엘 자손에게 말씀하셨다. "내가 너희를 이집트 사람과 아모리 사람과 암몬 사람과 블레셋 사람에게서 구원하지 아니하였느냐?
  2. 시돈 사람과 아말렉 사람과 마온 사람이 너희를 압제할 때에도 너희가 나에게 부르짖었으므로, 내가 너희를 그들의 손아귀에서 구원하여 주었다.
  3. 그런데도 너희는 나를 저버리고 다른 신들을 섬겼다. 그러므로 내가 다시는 너희를 구원하여 주지 않을 것이니,
  4. 너희가 선택한 신들에게나 가서 부르짖어라. 너희가 괴로울 때에 그들에게 가서 구원하여 달라고 해라."
  5. 그러자 이스라엘 자손이 주님께 말씀드렸다. "우리가 죄를 지었습니다. 주님의 뜻대로 다 하십시오. 그러나 오늘만은 우리를 구출하여 주십시오."
  1. So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the LORD; and He could bear the misery of Israel no longer.
  2. Then the sons of Ammon were summoned and they camped in Gilead. And the sons of Israel gathered together and camped in Mizpah.
  3. The people, the leaders of Gilead, said to one another, "Who is the man who will begin to fight against the sons of Ammon? He shall become head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."
  1. 그리고 그들이 자기들 가운데 있는 이방 신들을 제거하고 주님을 섬기니, 주님께서 이스라엘이 겪는 고통을 보고만 계실 수 없으셨다.
  2. 그 때에 암몬 자손이 집결하여 길르앗에 진을 치니, 이스라엘 자손도 모여서 미스바에 진을 쳤다.
  3. 그 때에 백성과 길르앗의 지도자들이 서로 이렇게 말하였다. "누가 먼저 나가서 암몬 자손과 싸우겠느냐? 그 사람이 길르앗에 사는 모든 사람의 통치자가 될 것이다."
 
  입다의 서원(11:1-11:40)    
 
  1. Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a valiant warrior, but he was the son of a harlot. And Gilead was the father of Jephthah.
  2. Gilead's wife bore him sons; and when his wife's sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out and said to him, "You shall not have an inheritance in our father's house, for you are the son of another woman."
  3. So Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob; and worthless fellows gathered themselves about Jephthah, and they went out with him.
  4. It came about after a while that the sons of Ammon fought against Israel.
  5. When the sons of Ammon fought against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah from the land of Tob;
  1. 길르앗 사람 입다는 굉장한 용사였다. 그는 길르앗이 창녀에게서 낳은 아들이다.
  2. 길르앗의 본처도 여러 아들을 낳았는데, 그들이 자라서 입다를 쫓아내며 그에게 말하였다. "너는 우리의 어머니가 아닌 다른 여인의 아들이므로, 우리 아버지의 유산을 이어받을 수 없다."
  3. 그래서 입다는 자기의 이복 형제들을 피하여 도망가서, 돕이라는 땅에서 살았는데, 건달패들이 입다에게 모여들어 그를 따라다녔다.

  1. and they said to Jephthah, "Come and be our chief that we may fight against the sons of Ammon."
  2. Then Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "Did you not hate me and drive me from my father's house? So why have you come to me now when you are in trouble?"
  3. The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "For this reason we have now returned to you, that you may go with us and fight with the sons of Ammon and become head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."
  4. So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you take me back to fight against the sons of Ammon and the LORD gives them up to me, will I become your head?"
  5. The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "The LORD is witness between us; surely we will do as you have said."
  1. 그에게 말하였다. "와서 우리의 지휘관이 되어 주시오. 그래야 우리가 암몬 자손을 칠 수 있겠소."
  2. 그러나 입다는 길르앗의 장로들에게 말하였다. "당신들이 나를 미워하여, 우리 아버지 집에서 나를 쫓아낼 때는 언제이고, 어려움을 당하고 있다고 해서 나에게 올 때는 또 언제요?"
  3. 그러자 길르앗의 장로들이 입다에게 대답하였다. "바로 그렇기 때문에 우리가 당신을 찾아온 것이오. 우리와 함께 가서 암몬 자손과 싸운다면, 당신은 모든 길르앗 사람의 통치자가 될 것이오."
  4. 입다가 길르앗 장로들에게 물었다. "당신들이 나를 데리고 가서 암몬 자손과 싸울 때에, 주님께서 그들을 나에게 넘겨 주신다면, 과연 당신들은 나를 통치자로 받들겠소?"
  5. 그러자 길르앗의 장로들이 입다에게 다짐하였다. "주님께서 우리 사이의 증인이십니다. 당신이 말한 그대로 우리가 할 것입니다."
  1. Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and chief over them; and Jephthah spoke all his words before the LORD at Mizpah.
  2. Now Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the sons of Ammon, saying, "What is between you and me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?"
  3. The king of the sons of Ammon said to the messengers of Jephthah, "Because Israel took away my land when they came up from Egypt, from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok and the Jordan; therefore, return them peaceably now."
  4. But Jephthah sent messengers again to the king of the sons of Ammon,
  5. and they said to him, "Thus says Jephthah, 'Israel did not take away the land of Moab nor the land of the sons of Ammon.
  1. 입다가 길르앗의 장로들을 따라가니, 백성이 그를 자기들의 통치자와 지휘관으로 삼았다. 입다는 그가 나눈 모든 말을 미스바에서 주님께 말씀드렸다.
  2. 입다가 암몬 자손의 왕에게 사절을 보내어 말을 전하였다. "우리 사이에 무엇이 잘못되었기에, 나의 영토를 침범하십니까?"
  3. 암몬 자손의 왕이 입다의 사절에게 말하였다. "이스라엘이 이집트에서 올라올 때에 아르논 강에서부터 얍복 강과 요단 강에 이르는 나의 땅을 점령하였습니다. 그러니 이제 말썽을 일으키지 말고 그 땅을 내놓으시기 바랍니다."
  4. 입다는 다시 암몬 자손의 왕에게 사절을 보냈다.
  5. 사절이 그에게 말을 전하였다. "나 입다는 이렇게 답변합니다. 이스라엘이 모압 땅이나 암몬 자손의 땅을 빼앗은 것이 아닙니다.
  1. 'For when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea and came to Kadesh,
  2. then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, "Please let us pass through your land," but the king of Edom would not listen And they also sent to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel remained at Kadesh.
  3. 'Then they went through the wilderness and around the land of Edom and the land of Moab, and came to the east side of the land of Moab, and they camped beyond the Arnon; but they did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.
  4. 'And Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon, and Israel said to him, "Please let us pass through your land to our place."
  5. 'But Sihon did not trust Israel to pass through his territory; so Sihon gathered all his people and camped in Jahaz and fought with Israel.
  1. 이스라엘이 이집트에서 나와, 광야를 지나고 홍해를 건너 가데스에 이르렀을 때에,
  2. 이스라엘이 에돔 왕에게 사절을 보내어 에돔 왕의 영토를 지나가게 허락하여 달라고 부탁을 한 일이 있었습니다. 그러나 에돔의 왕은 이 부탁을 들어주지 않았습니다. 이스라엘은 모압 왕에게도 사절을 보내었으나, 그도 우리의 요청을 들어주려고 하지 않았습니다. 그래서 이스라엘은 가데스에 머물러 있다가,
  3. 광야를 지나 에돔과 모압 땅을 돌아서 모압 땅 동쪽으로 가서, 아르논 강 건너에 진을 쳤으며, 모압 땅에는 들어가지 않았습니다. 아르논 강이 모압 땅의 국경이기 때문이었습니다.
  4. 이스라엘은 또 헤스본에서 통치하던 아모리 사람의 왕 시혼에게도 사절을 보내어, 우리가 갈 곳에 이르기까지 그의 영토를 지나가게 허락하여 달라고 간절히 부탁하였습니다.
  5. 그런데 시혼은 이스라엘이 자기의 영토를 지나가는 것을 허락하지 않을 뿐만 아니라, 오히려 그의 온 군대를 모아 야하스에 진을 치고 이스라엘에게 싸움을 걸어왔습니다.
  1. 'The LORD, the God of Israel, gave Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they defeated them; so Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.
  2. 'So they possessed all the territory of the Amorites, from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok, and from the wilderness as far as the Jordan.
  3. 'Since now the LORD, the God of Israel, drove out the Amorites from before His people Israel, are you then to possess it?
  4. 'Do you not possess what Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whatever the LORD our God has driven out before us, we will possess it.
  5. 'Now are you any better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever strive with Israel, or did he ever fight against them?
  1. 그래서 이스라엘의 주 하나님이 시혼과 그의 온 군대를 이스라엘의 손에 넘겨 주셨습니다. 이스라엘이 그들을 쳐서 이기고, 아모리 사람의 모든 땅 곧 그들이 사는 그 영토를 차지하게 되었는데,
  2. 이렇게 하여서 이스라엘은 아르논 강에서 얍복 강까지와 또 광야에서 요단 강까지 이르는 아모리 사람의 온 영토를 차지하였습니다.
  3. 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 그의 백성 이스라엘 앞에서 이렇게 아모리 사람을 몰아내셨습니다. 그런데 이제 와서 당신이 이 땅을 차지하겠다는 것입니까?
  4. 당신은 당신이 섬기는 신 그모스가 당신의 몫으로 준 땅을 차지하지 않았습니까? 우리는 주 우리 하나님이 우리 앞에서 원수를 몰아내고 주신 모든 땅을 차지한 것입니다.

  1. 'While Israel lived in Heshbon and its villages, and in Aroer and its villages, and in all the cities that are on the banks of the Arnon, three hundred years, why did you not recover them within that time?
  2. 'I therefore have not sinned against you, but you are doing me wrong by making war against me; may the LORD, the Judge, judge today between the sons of Israel and the sons of Ammon.'"
  3. But the king of the sons of Ammon disregarded the message which Jephthah sent him.
  4. Now the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, so that he passed through Gilead and Manasseh; then he passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he went on to the sons of Ammon.
  5. Jephthah made a vow to the LORD and said, "If You will indeed give the sons of Ammon into my hand,
  1. 이스라엘이 헤스본과 그 주변 마을들과, 아로엘과 그 주변 마을들과, 아르논 강변의 모든 성읍에 삼백 년 동안이나 살았는데, 왜 당신은 그 동안에 이 지역들을 되찾지 않았습니까?

  3. 그러나 암몬 자손의 왕은 입다가 자기에게 전하여 준 말에 전혀 귀를 기울이지 않았다.
  4. 주님의 영이 입다에게 내렸다. 그는 길르앗과 므낫세 지역을 돌아보고, 길르앗의 미스바로 돌아왔다가, 길르앗의 미스바에서 다시 암몬 자손이 있는 쪽으로 나아갔다.
  5. 그 때에 입다가 주님께 서원하였다. "하나님이 암몬 자손을 내 손에 넘겨 주신다면,
  1. then it shall be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the sons of Ammon, it shall be the LORD'S, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering."
  2. So Jephthah crossed over to the sons of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD gave them into his hand.
  3. He struck them with a very great slaughter from Aroer to the entrance of Minnith, twenty cities, and as far as Abel-keramim. So the sons of Ammon were subdued before the sons of Israel.
  4. When Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, behold, his daughter was coming out to meet him with tambourines and with dancing. Now she was his one and only child; besides her he had no son or daughter.
  5. When he saw her, he tore his clothes and said, "Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low, and you are among those who trouble me; for I have given my word to the LORD, and I cannot take it back."
  1. 내가 암몬 자손을 이기고 무사히 돌아올 때에, 누구든지 내 집 문에서 먼저 나를 맞으러 나오는 그 사람은 주님의 것이 될 것입니다. 내가 번제물로 그를 드리겠습니다."
  2. 그런 다음에 입다는 암몬 자손에게 건너가서, 그들과 싸웠다. 주님께서 그들을 입다의 손에 넘겨 주시니,
  3. 그는 아로엘에서 민닛까지 스무 성읍을 쳐부수고, 아벨그라밈까지 크게 무찔렀다. 그리하여 암몬 자손은 이스라엘 자손 앞에 항복하고 말았다.
  4. 입다가 미스바에 있는 자기 집으로 돌아올 때에, 소구를 치고 춤추며 그를 맞으려고 나오는 사람은 바로 그의 딸이었다. 그는 입다의 무남독녀였다.
  5. 입다는 자기 딸을 보는 순간 옷을 찢으며 부르짖었다. "아이고, 이 자식아, 네가 이 아버지의 가슴을 후벼 파는구나. 나를 이렇게 괴롭히는 것이 하필이면 왜 너란 말이냐! 주님께 서원한 것이어서 돌이킬 수도 없으니, 어찌한단 말이냐!"
  1. So she said to him, "My father, you have given your word to the LORD; do to me as you have said, since the LORD has avenged you of your enemies, the sons of Ammon."
  2. She said to her father, "Let this thing be done for me; let me alone two months, that I may go to the mountains and weep because of my virginity, I and my companions."
  3. Then he said, "Go." So he sent her away for two months; and she left with her companions, and wept on the mountains because of her virginity.
  4. At the end of two months she returned to her father, who did to her according to the vow which he had made; and she had no relations with a man. Thus it became a custom in Israel,
  5. that the daughters of Israel went yearly to commemorate the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in the year.
  1. 그러자 딸이 아버지에게 말하였다. "아버지, 아버지께서 입으로 주님께 서원하셨으니, 서원하신 말씀대로 저에게 하십시오. 이미 주님께서는 아버지의 원수인 암몬 자손에게 복수하여 주셨습니다."
  2. 딸은 또 아버지에게 말하였다. "한 가지만 저에게 허락하여 주시기 바랍니다. 두 달만 저에게 말미를 주십시오. 처녀로 죽는 이 몸, 친구들과 함께 산으로 가서 실컷 울도록 해주시기 바랍니다."
  3. 입다는 딸더러 가라고 허락하고, 두 달 동안 말미를 주어 보냈다. 딸은 친구들과 더불어 산으로 올라가서, 처녀로 죽는 것을 슬퍼하며 실컷 울었다.
  4. 두 달 만에 딸이 아버지에게로 돌아오자, 아버지는 주님께 서원한 것을 지켰고, 그 딸은 남자를 알지 못하는 처녀의 몸으로 죽었다. 이스라엘에서 한 관습이 생겼다.
  5. 이스라엘 여자들이 해마다 산으로 들어가서, 길르앗 사람 입다의 딸을 애도하여 나흘 동안 슬피 우는 것이다.
