예레미야 35:1-36:32

 하나님께서는 레갑 족속이 선조의 명령을 온전히 순종함을 칭찬하시면서 하나님께 불순종하는 유다 백성들의 죄를 책망하셨다. 바룩은 예레미야가 경고한 유다의 죄를 두루마리에 기록하여 왕과 백성들에게 읽어 주었지만, 여호야김 왕은 이 두루마리를 불에 태웠다. 이에 하나님께서 왕과 그 신하들에게 심판을 선포하셨고 바룩에게 그 말씀을 다시 기록하도록 하셨다.
  
  레갑 족속의 순종(35:1-35:19)    
 
  1. The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,
  2. "Go to the house of the Rechabites and speak to them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink."
  3. Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, son of Habazziniah, and his brothers and all his sons and the whole house of the Rechabites,
  4. and I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was near the chamber of the officials, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the doorkeeper.
  5. Then I set before the men of the house of the Rechabites pitchers full of wine and cups; and I said to them, "Drink wine!"
  1. 요시야의 아들 여호야김이 유다 왕이었을 때에, 주님께서 예레미야에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너는 레갑 사람들을 찾아가서 그들에게 말하고, 그들을 주의 성전으로 데려다가, 어느 한 방으로 안내하여, 그들에게 포도주를 마시게 하여 보아라."
  3. 그래서 내가, 하바시냐의 손자요 예레미야라고 하는 사람의 아들인 야아사냐와 그의 형제들과 모든 아들과 레갑 가문을 모두 데려왔다.
  4. 나는 그들을 주님의 성전으로 안내하여, 익다랴의 아들로서 하나님의 사람인 하난의 아들들이 쓰는 방으로 들어가게 하였다. 그 방은 고관들의 방 곁에 붙어 있고, 살룸의 아들, 문지기 마아세야의 방 위에 있었다.
  5. 거기에서 내가 레갑 가문 사람들에게 포도주가 가득 찬 단지와 잔들을 내놓고 "포도주를 드시지요" 하며, 그들에게 권하였다.
  1. But they said, "We will not drink wine, for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, 'You shall not drink wine, you or your sons, forever.
  2. 'You shall not build a house, and you shall not sow seed and you shall not plant a vineyard or own one; but in tents you shall dwell all your days, that you may live many days in the land where you sojourn.'
  3. "We have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, not to drink wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons or our daughters,
  4. nor to build ourselves houses to dwell in; and we do not have vineyard or field or seed.
  5. "We have only dwelt in tents, and have obeyed and have done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
  1. 그러나 그들은 이렇게 대답하였다. "우리는 포도주를 마시지 않습니다. 우리의 조상 레갑의 아들 요나답께서 우리에게 분부하셨습니다. '너희는 포도주를 마시지 말아라. 너희뿐만 아니라 너희 자손도 절대로 마셔서는 안 된다.
  2. 너희는 집도 짓지 말고, 곡식의 씨도 뿌리지 말고, 포도나무도 심지 말고, 포도원도 소유하지 말아라. 너희는 언제까지나 장막에서만 살아라. 그래야 너희가 나그네로 사는 그 땅에서 오래오래 살 것이다.'
  3. 그래서 우리는 우리의 조상 레갑의 아들 요나답께서 우리에게 명령하신 모든 말씀에 순종하여, 우리와 우리 아내와 우리 아들과 딸이 일평생 포도주를 마시지 않았습니다.
  4. 우리는 거처할 집도 짓지 않고, 포도원이나 농토나 곡식의 씨도 소유하지 않았습니다.
  5. 우리는 오직 우리의 조상 요나답께서 우리에게 명령하신 모든 말씀에 순종하여, 그대로 실천하면서, 장막에서 살았습니다.
  1. "But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, we said, 'Come and let us go to Jerusalem before the army of the Chaldeans and before the army of the Arameans.' So we have dwelt in Jerusalem."
  2. Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
  3. "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Go and say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, "Will you not receive instruction by listening to My words?" declares the LORD.
  4. "The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, which he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are observed So they do not drink wine to this day, for they have obeyed their father's command But I have spoken to you again and again; yet you have not listened to Me.
  5. "Also I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, sending them again and again, saying: 'Turn now every man from his evil way and amend your deeds, and do not go after other gods to worship them Then you will dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your forefathers; but you have not inclined your ear or listened to Me.
  1. 그런데 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살이 이 나라에 쳐들어왔을 때에, 우리는 바빌로니아 군대와 시리아 군대를 피하여 예루살렘으로 들어가야 하겠다고 결정하였습니다. 그래서 우리가 지금 예루살렘에 살고 있는 것입니다."
  2. 그 때에 주님께서 예레미야에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  3. "나 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 너는 유다 사람과 예루살렘의 주민에게 나가서, 이렇게 말하여라. '너희는 교훈을 받아들일 수도 없고, 나의 말에 순종할 수도 없느냐? 나 주의 말이다.
  4. 레갑의 아들 요나답이 자손에게, 포도주를 마시지 말라고 명령한 것이 이렇게 엄수되고 있다. 그 자손은 조상이 내린 명령에 순종해서, 이 날까지 전혀 포도주를 마시지 않는다. 그러나 너희들은, 내가 직접 말하고, 또 거듭하여 말했으나, 내 말을 듣지 않았다.
  5. 나는 내 종 예언자들을 모두 너희에게 보내고, 또 거듭하여 보내면서 권고하였다. 각자 자신의 악한 길에서 돌아서고, 행실을 고치고, 다른 신들을 섬기려고 쫓아다니지 말라고 하였고, 그래야만 내가 너희와 너희 조상에게 준 땅에서, 너희가 살게 될 것이라고 하였다. 그러나 너희는 나에게 귀를 기울이지도 않았고, 나의 말을 듣지도 않았다.
  1. 'Indeed, the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have observed the command of their father which he commanded them, but this people has not listened to Me.'"'
  2. "Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I am bringing on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the disaster that I have pronounced against them; because I spoke to them but they did not listen, and I have called them but they did not answer.'"
  3. Then Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Because you have obeyed the command of Jonadab your father, kept all his commands and done according to all that he commanded you;
  4. therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack a man to stand before Me always."'"
  1. 레갑의 아들 요나답의 자손은 조상이 자기들에게 명령한 분부를 그렇게 엄수하는데, 이 백성은 나의 말을 듣지 않았다.
  2. 그러므로 만군의 하나님이요 이스라엘의 하나님인 나 주가 말한다. 내가 유다와 예루살렘의 모든 주민에게 예고한 모든 재앙을 그대로 내리겠다. 내가 그들에게 말을 해도 그들이 듣지 않고, 내가 그들을 불러도 그들이 대답하지 않았기 때문이다."
  3. 그런 다음에, 예레미야가 레갑 사람들에게 이렇게 말하였다. "나 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 너희는 조상 요나답의 명령에 순종하고, 그의 모든 교훈을 엄수하고, 그가 너희에게 명령한 모든 것을 그대로 실천하였다.

  예언을 받아 쓴 바룩(36:1-36:32)    
 
  1. In the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
  2. "Take a scroll and write on it all the words which I have spoken to you concerning Israel and concerning Judah, and concerning all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.
  3. "Perhaps the house of Judah will hear all the calamity which I plan to bring on them, in order that every man will turn from his evil way; then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin."
  4. Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote on a scroll at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD which He had spoken to him.
  5. Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, "I am restricted; I cannot go into the house of the LORD.
  1. 요시야의 아들 여호야김이 유다 왕이 된 지 사 년째 되는 해에, 주님께서 예레미야에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너는 두루마리를 구해다가, 내가 너에게 말한 날로부터 곧 요시야의 시대부터 이 날까지 내가 이스라엘과 유다와 세계 만민을 두고 너에게 말한 모든 말을, 그 두루마리에 기록하여라.
  3. 내가 유다 백성에게 내리기로 작정한 모든 재앙을 그들이 듣고, 혹시 저마다 자신의 악한 길에서 돌아선다면, 나도 그들의 허물과 죄를 용서하여 주겠다."
  4. 그래서 예레미야가 네리야의 아들 바룩을 불렀다. 바룩은 예레미야가 불러 주는 대로, 주님께서 그에게 하신 모든 말씀을 두루마리에 기록하였다.
  5. 그런 다음에, 예레미야가 바룩에게 이렇게 지시하였다. "나는 감금되어 주님의 성전에 들어갈 수 없는 몸이 되었으니,
  1. "So you go and read from the scroll which you have written at my dictation the words of the LORD to the people in the LORD'S house on a fast day. And also you shall read them to all the people of Judah who come from their cities.
  2. "Perhaps their supplication will come before the LORD, and everyone will turn from his evil way, for great is the anger and the wrath that the LORD has pronounced against this people."
  3. Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading from the book the words of the LORD in the LORD'S house.
  4. Now in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, all the people in Jerusalem and all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem proclaimed a fast before the LORD.
  5. Then Baruch read from the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the New Gate of the LORD'S house, to all the people.
  1. 그대가 금식일에 주님의 성전으로 들어가서, 내가 불러 준 대로 기록한 두루마리에서, 주님의 말씀을 백성에게 낭독하여 들려주시오. 유다의 여러 성읍에서 온 모든 사람에게 그 말씀을 낭독하여 들려주시오.
  2. 그러면, 그들이 주님 앞에 엎드려 기도드리면서, 저마다 악한 길에서 돌아올는지도 모르오. 주님께서 이 백성에게 쏟으시겠다고 말씀하신 진노와 노여움이 너무 크기 때문이오."
  3. 네리야의 아들 바룩은, 예언자 예레미야가 자기에게 부탁한 대로, 주님의 성전으로 가서 두루마리에 있는 주님의 말씀을 읽었다.
  4. 요시야의 아들 여호야김이 유다 왕이 된 지 오년째 되는 해 아홉째 달에, 예루살렘의 모든 주민과 유다의 여러 성읍에서 예루살렘으로 들어온 모든 백성에게, 주님 앞에서 금식하라는 선포가 내렸다.
  5. 바룩은 주님의 성전으로 들어가서, 모든 백성에게 예레미야가 한 주님의 말씀을 기록한 두루마리를 낭독하였다. 그가 낭독한 곳은 서기관 사반의 아들 그마랴의 방이었고, 그 방은 주님의 성전 '새 대문' 어귀의 위 뜰에 있었다.
  1. Now when Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard all the words of the LORD from the book,
  2. he went down to the king's house, into the scribe's chamber. And behold, all the officials were sitting there--Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.
  3. Micaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard when Baruch read from the book to the people.
  4. Then all the officials sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, "Take in your hand the scroll from which you have read to the people and come " So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand and went to them.
  5. They said to him, "Sit down, please, and read it to us." So Baruch read it to them.
  1. 그 때에 사반의 손자요 그마랴의 아들인 미가야가 두루마리에 있는 하나님의 말씀을 다 듣고,
  2. 왕궁에 있는 서기관의 방으로 들어갔다. 마침 그 곳에는 모든 고관이 모여 있었다. 곧 서기관 엘리사마와, 스마야의 아들 들라야와, 악볼의 아들 엘라단과, 사반의 아들 그마랴와, 하나냐의 아들 시드기야 등 모든 고관이 앉아 있었다.
  3. 미가야는, 바룩이 백성에게 책을 낭독하여 들려줄 때에 들은 모든 말을, 그들에게 전달하였다.
  4. 모든 고관은, 구시의 증손이요 셀레먀의 손자요 느다냐의 아들인 여후디를 바룩에게 보내어, 바룩이 백성에게 낭독하여 들려준 그 두루마리를 가지고 오게 하였다. 네리야의 아들 바룩이 그 두루마리를 가지고 그들에게로 가니,
  5. 그 고관들이 바룩에게 말하였다. "그대는 앉아서, 우리에게 그 두루마리를 낭독하여 들려주시오." 바룩이 그들에게 낭독하여 들려주니,
  1. When they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one to another and said to Baruch, "We will surely report all these words to the king."
  2. And they asked Baruch, saying, "Tell us, please, how did you write all these words? Was it at his dictation?"
  3. Then Baruch said to them, "He dictated all these words to me, and I wrote them with ink on the book."
  4. Then the officials said to Baruch, "Go, hide yourself, you and Jeremiah, and do not let anyone know where you are."
  5. So they went to the king in the court, but they had deposited the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and they reported all the words to the king.
  1. 그들은 그 말씀을 다 듣고 나서, 놀라 서로 쳐다보며, 바룩에게 말하였다. "우리가 이 말씀을 모두 임금님께 꼭 아뢰어야 하겠소."
  2. 그들은 바룩에게, 그가 어떻게 그러한 말씀을 모두 기록하였는지, 자기들에게 알려 달라고 말하였다.
  3. 바룩이 그들에게 대답하였다. "예레미야 예언자께서 저에게 이 말씀을 모두 불러 주셨고, 저는 그것을 받아서, 먹으로 이 두루마리에 받아 썼습니다."
  4. 고관들이 바룩에게 부탁하였다. "그대는 가서 예레미야와 함께 숨으시오. 그대들이 어디에 있는지 아무도 모르게 숨으시오."
  5. 그리고 고관들은 그 두루마리를 서기관 엘리사마의 방에 보관하여 두고, 왕궁의 뜰로 들어가서, 왕에게 이르러, 그 말을 모두 왕에게 전하였다.
  1. Then the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it to the king as well as to all the officials who stood beside the king.
  2. Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month, with a fire burning in the brazier before him.
  3. When Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut it with a scribe's knife and threw it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.
  4. Yet the king and all his servants who heard all these words were not afraid, nor did they rend their garments.
  5. Even though Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah pleaded with the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.
  1. 전하는 말을 들은 왕은 여후디를 보내어 그 두루마리를 가져 오게 하였다. 여후디가 서기관 엘리사마의 방에서 그 두루마리를 가져다가, 왕과 왕의 곁에 서 있는 모든 고관들 앞에서 낭독하여 들려주었다.
  2. 그 때는 아홉째 달이어서, 왕이 겨울 별관에 머물렀으며, 왕 앞에는 불피운 난로가 놓여 있었다.
  3. 그런데 여후디가 그 두루마리에서 서너 칸을 읽어 내려갈 때마다, 왕은 읽은 부분을 서기관의 칼로 잘라 내어서, 난로에 던져 넣었다. 이렇게 왕은 온 두루마리를 다 난로 불에 태웠다.
  4. 그런데 왕과 그의 신하들 모두가, 이 말씀을 다 듣고 나서도, 두려워하거나 슬퍼하면서 자기들의 옷을 찢지 않았다.
  5. 엘라단과 들라야와 그마랴가 왕에게 그 두루마리를 태우지 말도록 간청까지 했었으나, 왕은 그들의 말을 듣지 않았다.
  1. And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king's son, Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, but the LORD hid them.
  2. Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah after the king had burned the scroll and the words which Baruch had written at the dictation of Jeremiah, saying,
  3. "Take again another scroll and write on it all the former words that were on the first scroll which Jehoiakim the king of Judah burned.
  4. "And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say, 'Thus says the LORD, "You have burned this scroll, saying, 'Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will make man and beast to cease from it?'"
  5. 'Therefore thus says the LORD concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah, "He shall have no one to sit on the throne of David, and his dead body shall be cast out to the heat of the day and the frost of the night.
  1. 왕은 오히려, 왕자 여라므엘을 비롯하여 아스리엘의 아들 스라야와 압디엘의 아들 셀레먀에게 명령하여, 서기관 바룩과 예언자 예레미야를 체포하라고 하였다. 그러나 주님께서 그들을 숨기셨다.
  2. 예레미야가 불러 주고 바룩이 받아 쓴 그 두루마리를 왕이 태운 뒤에, 주님께서 예레미야에게
  3. 다시 다른 두루마리를 구해다가, 유다 왕 여호야김이 태워 버린 첫째 두루마리에 기록하였던 먼젓번 말씀을 모두 그 위에 다시 적고,
  4. 유다 왕 여호야김에게 주님의 말을 전하라고 하셨다. "나 주가 말한다. 너는 예레미야에게 '왜 두루마리에다가, 바빌로니아 왕이 틀림없이 와서 이 땅을 멸망시키고 사람과 짐승을 이 땅에서 멸절시킬 것이라고 기록하였느냐' 하고 묻고는, 그 두루마리를 태워 버렸다.
  5. 그러므로 유다 왕 여호야김을 두고서 나 주가 말한다. '그의 자손 가운데는 다윗의 왕좌에 앉을 사람이 없을 것이요, 그의 시체는 무더운 낮에도 추운 밤에도, 바깥에 버려져 뒹굴 것이다.
  1. "I will also punish him and his descendants and his servants for their iniquity, and I will bring on them and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and the men of Judah all the calamity that I have declared to them--but they did not listen."'"
  2. Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch the son of Neriah, the scribe, and he wrote on it at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.
  1. 나는 이렇게, 여호야김과 그의 자손에게만이 아니라 그의 신하들에게도, 그들이 저지른 죄를 벌하겠다. 그들뿐만 아니라 예루살렘 주민과 유다 사람에게, 내가 경고하였으나 그들이 믿지 않았으므로, 내가 모든 재앙을 그들에게 내리겠다.'"
  2. 그래서 예레미야가 다른 두루마리를 구해다가 네리야의 아들 서기관 바룩에게 주었다. 바룩은 예레미야가 불러 주는 대로, 유다 왕 여호야김이 불에 태운 두루마리에 기록한 말씀을 모두 기록하였는데, 이번에는 그와 비슷한 말씀이 더 많이 추가되었다.
