- Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
- to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.
- For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
- But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
- He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

- 그대는 신도를 일깨워서, 통치자와 집권자에게 복종하고, 순종하고, 모든 선한 일을 할 준비를 갖추게 하십시오.
- 또, 아무도 비방하지 말고, 싸우지 말고, 관용하게 하며, 언제나 모든 사람에게 온유하게 대하게 하십시오.

- 이 말은 참됩니다. 나는 그대가, 이러한 것을 힘있게 주장해서, 하나님을 믿는 사람으로 하여금 선한 일에 전념하게 하기 바랍니다. 선한 일은 아름다우며, 사람에게 유익합니다.
