- Boasting is necessary, though it is not profitable; but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.
- I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago--whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows--such a man was caught up to the third heaven.

- On behalf of such a man I will boast; but on my own behalf I will not boast, except in regard to my weaknesses.

- パラダイス に 引き 上げられて， 人間には 語ることを 許されていない， 口に 出すことのできないことばを 聞いたことを 知っています．
- このような 人について 私は 誇るのです． しかし， 私自身については， 自分の 弱さ 以外には 誇りません．

- For if I do wish to boast I will not be foolish, for I will be speaking the truth; but I refrain from this, so that no one will credit me with more than he sees in me or hears from me.
- Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me--to keep me from exalting myself!
- Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me.
- And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness " Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

- たとい 私が 誇りたいと 思ったとしても， 愚か 者にはなりません． 眞實のことを 話すのだからです． しかし， 誇ることは 控えましょう． 私について 見ること， 私から 聞くこと 以上に， 人が 私を 過大に 評價するといけないからです．
- また， その 啓示があまりにもすばらしいからです． そのために 私は， 高ぶることのないようにと， 肉體に 一つのとげを 與えられました． それは 私が 高ぶることのないように， 私を 打つための， サタン の 使いです．
- このことについては， これを 私から 去らせてくださるようにと， 三度も 主に 願いました．
- しかし， 主は， 「わたしの 惠みは， あなたに 十分である． というのは， わたしの 力は， 弱さのうちに 完全に 現われるからである． 」と 言われたのです． ですから， 私は， キリスト の 力が 私をおおうために， むしろ 大いに 喜んで 私の 弱さを 誇りましょう．
- ですから， 私は， キリスト のために， 弱さ， 侮辱， 苦痛， 迫害， 困難に 甘んじています． なぜなら， 私が 弱いときにこそ， 私は 强いからです．
