디모데전서 3:1-3:16

 바울은 교회를 돌볼 수 있는 자격을 갖춘 감독과 집사를 임명하는 규정을 제시하였다. 또한 이 서신을 쓴 목적이 디모데에게 목회 방법을 가르치는 데 있다고 밝히며, 예수 그리스도에 대한 경건의 비밀을 증언했다.
  
  감독의 자격(3:1-3:7)    
 
  1. It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.
  2. An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
  3. not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money.
  4. He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity
  5. (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?),
  1. 「人がもし 監督の 職につきたいと 思うなら， それはすばらしい 仕事を 求めることである． 」ということばは 眞實です．
  2. ですから， 監督はこういう 人でなければなりません． すなわち， 非難されるところがなく， ひとりの 妻の 夫であり， 自分を 制し， 愼み 深く， 品位があり， よくもてなし， 敎える 能力があり，
  3. 酒飮みでなく， 暴力をふるわず， 溫和で， 爭わず， 金錢に 無欲で，
  4. 自分の 家庭をよく 治め， 十分な 威嚴をもって 子どもを 從わせている 人です．
  5. ··自分自身の 家庭を 治めることを 知らない 人が， どうして 神の 敎會の 世話をすることができるでしょう． ··
  1. and not a new convert, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil.
  2. And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
  1. また， 信者になったばかりの 人であってはいけません． 高慢になって， 惡魔と 同じさばきを 受けることにならないためです．
  2. また， 敎會外の 人¿にも 評判の 良い 人でなければいけません． そしりを 受け， 惡魔のわなに 陷らないためです．
 
  집사의 자격(3:8-3:16)    
 
  1. Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain,
  2. but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.
  3. These men must also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons if they are beyond reproach.
  4. Women must likewise be dignified, not malicious gossips, but temperate, faithful in all things.
  5. Deacons must be husbands of only one wife, and good managers of their children and their own households.
  1. 執事もまたこういう 人でなければなりません． 謹嚴で， 二枚舌を 使わず， 大酒飮みでなく， 不正な 利をむさぼらず，
  2. きよい 良心をもって 信仰の 奧義を 保っている 人です．
  3. まず 審査を 受けさせなさい． そして， 非難される 点がなければ， 執事の 職につかせなさい．
  4. 婦人執事も， 威嚴があり， 惡口を 言わず， 自分を 制し， すべてに 忠實な 人でなければなりません．
  5. 執事は， ひとりの 妻の 夫であって， 子どもと 家庭をよく 治める 人でなければなりません．
  1. For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a high standing and great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
  2. I am writing these things to you, hoping to come to you before long;
  3. but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.
  4. By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.
  1. というのは， 執事の 務めをりっぱに 果たした 人は， 良い 地步を 占め， また， キリスト · イエス を 信じる 信仰について 强い 確信を 持つことができるからです．
  2. 私は， 近いうちにあなたのところに 行きたいと 思いながらも， この 手紙を 書いています．
  3. それは， たとい 私がおそくなったばあいでも， 神の 家でどのように 行動すべきかを， あなたが 知っておくためです． 神の 家とは 生ける 神の 敎會のことであり， その 敎會は， 眞理の 柱また 土台です．
  4. 確かに 偉大なのはこの 敬 ·の 奧義です． 「キリスト は 肉において 現われ， 靈において 義と 宣言され， 御使いたちに 見られ， 諸國民の 間に 宣べ 傳えられ， 世界中で 信じられ， 榮光のうちに 上げられた． 」
