아모스

  아모스가 활동할 당시의 북이스라엘은 경제적으로는 번영을 누렸으나 부정과 부패, 우상 숭배가 만연하였다. 이에 아모스는 하나님의 심판의 날을 선포하면서 백성들에게 공의를 행할 것과 하나님께 돌아올 것을 외쳤다.

  1장부터 2장까지는 유다를 포함한 이스라엘의 주변 7개 국가를 향한 심판의 메시지를 선포하고 있다. 그리고 3장부터 6장까지는 이스라엘에 임할 하나님의 심판의 불가피성을 밝힌 후, 심판을 피하는 길로 야웨 하나님을 찾고 공의를 행할 것을 외치고 있다. 7장부터 9장까지는 지금까지 예언한 이스라엘 멸망의 모습을 다섯 가지 환상을 통해 확인하면서 남은 자들의 회복과 메시아 왕국에 대한 하나님의 약속을 전하고 있다.

 

 

아모스 1:1-3:15

 아모스는 다메섹, 가사, 두로, 에돔, 암몬, 모압의 여섯 이방 나라와 남유다와 북이스라엘을 향해 하나님의 심판을 선포하였다. 이방 나라들은 서너 가지의 죄를 범했을 뿐 아니라 이스라엘을 대적했기에 하나님의 심판을 받게 되었다. 그리고 남유다는 야웨의 율법을 멸시하고 어긴 죄로, 북이스라엘은 사회적 불의와 우상 신전에서 가증한 짓을 행한 죄로 하나님의 심판을 받게 되었다.
  
  이방 나라의 심판(1:1-2:3)    
 
  1. The words of Amos, who was among the sheepherders from Tekoa, which he envisioned in visions concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
  2. He said, "The LORD roars from Zion And from Jerusalem He utters His voice; And the shepherds' pasture grounds mourn, And the summit of Carmel dries up."
  3. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Damascus and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they threshed Gilead with implements of sharp iron.
  4. "So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael And it will consume the citadels of Ben-hadad.
  5. "I will also break the gate bar of Damascus, And cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, And him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden; So the people of Aram will go exiled to Kir," Says the LORD.

  1. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Gaza and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they deported an entire population To deliver it up to Edom.
  2. "So I will send fire upon the wall of Gaza And it will consume her citadels.
  3. "I will also cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, And him who holds the scepter, from Ashkelon; I will even unleash My power upon Ekron, And the remnant of the Philistines will perish," Says the Lord GOD.
  4. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Tyre and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they delivered up an entire population to Edom And did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.
  5. "So I will send fire upon the wall of Tyre And it will consume her citadels."
  1. 主はこう 仰せられる． 「ガザ の 犯した 三つのそむきの 罪， 四つのそむきの 罪のために， わたしはその 刑罰を 取り 消さない． 彼らがすべての 者を 捕囚の 民として 捕え 移し， エドム に 引き 渡したからだ．
  2. わたしは ガザ の 城壁に 火を 送ろう． 火はその 宮殿を 燒き 盡くす．
  3. わたしは アシュドデ から， 住民を， アシュケロン から， 王位についている 者を 斷ち 滅ぼす． わたしは エクロン にわたしの 手を 向け， ペリシテ 人の 殘った 者を 滅ぼす． 」と 神である 主は 仰せられる．
  4. 主はこう 仰せられる． 「ツロ の 犯した 三つのそむきの 罪， 四つのそむきの 罪のために， わたしはその 刑罰を 取り 消さない． 彼らがすべての 者を 捕囚の 民として， エドム に 引き 渡し， 兄弟の 契りを 覺えていなかったからだ．
  5. わたしは ツロ の 城壁に 火を 送ろう． 火はその 宮殿を 燒き 盡くす． 」
  1. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Edom and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because he pursued his brother with the sword, While he stifled his compassion; His anger also tore continually, And he maintained his fury forever.
  2. "So I will send fire upon Teman And it will consume the citadels of Bozrah."
  3. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead In order to enlarge their borders.
  4. "So I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah And it will consume her citadels Amid war cries on the day of battle, And a storm on the day of tempest.
  5. "Their king will go into exile, He and his princes together," says the LORD.
  1. 主はこう 仰せられる． 「エドム の 犯した 三つのそむきの 罪， 四つのそむきの 罪のために， わたしはその 刑罰を 取り 消さない． 彼が 劍で 自分の 兄弟を 追い， 肉親の 情をそこない， 怒り 續けていつまでも 激しい 怒りを 保っていたからだ．
  2. わたしは テマン に 火を 送ろう． 火は ボツラ の 宮殿を 燒き 盡くす． 」
  3. 主はこう 仰せられる． 「アモン 人の 犯した 三つのそむきの 罪， 四つのそむきの 罪のために， わたしはその 刑罰を 取り 消さない． 彼らが， 自分たちの 領土を 廣げるために， ギルアデ の 妊婦たちを 切り 裂いたからだ．
  4. わたしは ラバ の 城壁に 火を 放とう． 火はその 宮殿を 燒き 盡くす． これは 戰いの 日のときの 聲と， つむじ 風の 日の 暴風のうちに 起こる．
  5. 彼らの 王は， その 首長たちとともに， 捕囚として 連れて 行かれる． 」と 主は 仰せられる．
 
 
  1. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Moab and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
  2. "So I will send fire upon Moab And it will consume the citadels of Kerioth; And Moab will die amid tumult, With war cries and the sound of a trumpet.
  3. "I will also cut off the judge from her midst And slay all her princes with him," says the LORD.
  1. 主はこう 仰せられる． 「モアブ の 犯した 三つのそむきの 罪， 四つのそむきの 罪のために， わたしはその 刑罰を 取り 消さない． 彼が エドム の 王の 骨を 燒いて 灰にしたからだ．
  2. わたしは モアブ に 火を 送ろう． 火は ケリヨテ の 宮殿を 燒き 盡くす． モアブ は， どよめきのうちに， 角笛の 音と， ときの 聲のうちに 死ぬ．
  3. わたしはさばきつかさをそのうちからたち 滅ぼし， そのすべての 首長たちを， 彼とともに 切り 殺す． 」と 主は 仰せられる．
 
  남유다와 북이스라엘의 심판(2:4-3:15)    
 
  1. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Judah and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they rejected the law of the LORD And have not kept His statutes; Their lies also have led them astray, Those after which their fathers walked.
  2. "So I will send fire upon Judah And it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem."
  3. Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Israel and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for money And the needy for a pair of sandals.
  4. "These who pant after the very dust of the earth on the head of the helpless Also turn aside the way of the humble; And a man and his father resort to the same girl In order to profane My holy name.
  5. "On garments taken as pledges they stretch out beside every altar, And in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.
  1. 主はこう 仰せられる． 「ユダ の 犯した 三つのそむきの 罪， 四つのそむきの 罪のために， わたしはその 刑罰を 取り 消さない． 彼らが 主のおしえを 捨て， そのおきてを 守らず， 彼らの 先祖たちが 從ったまやかしものが 彼らを 惑わしたからだ．
  2. わたしは ユダ に 火を 送ろう． 火は エルサレム の 宮殿を 燒き 盡くす． 」
  3. 主はこう 仰せられる． 「イスラエル の 犯した 三つのそむきの 罪， 四つのそむきの 罪のために， わたしはその 刑罰を 取り 消さない． 彼らが 金のために 正しい 者を 賣り， 一足のくつのために 貧しい 者を 賣ったからだ．
  4. 彼らは 弱い 者の 頭を 地のちりに 踏みつけ， 貧しい 者の 道を 曲げ， 父と 子が 同じ 女のところに 通って， わたしの 聖なる 名を 汚している．
  5. 彼らは， すべての 祭壇のそばで， 質に 取った 着物の 上に 橫たわり， 罰金で 取り 立てたぶどう 酒を 彼らの 神の 宮で 飮んでいる．
  1. "Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Though his height was like the height of cedars And he was strong as the oaks; I even destroyed his fruit above and his root below.
  2. "It was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And I led you in the wilderness forty years That you might take possession of the land of the Amorite.
  3. "Then I raised up some of your sons to be prophets And some of your young men to be Nazirites. Is this not so, O sons of Israel?" declares the LORD.
  4. "But you made the Nazirites drink wine, And you commanded the prophets saying, 'You shall not prophesy!'
  5. "Behold, I am weighted down beneath you As a wagon is weighted down when filled with sheaves.

  1. "Flight will perish from the swift, And the stalwart will not strengthen his power, Nor the mighty man save his life.
  2. "He who grasps the bow will not stand his ground, The swift of foot will not escape, Nor will he who rides the horse save his life.
  3. "Even the bravest among the warriors will flee naked in that day," declares the LORD.
  1. 足の 速い 者も 逃げ 場を 失い， 强い 者も 力をふるうことができず， 勇士もいのちを 救うことができない．
  2. 弓を 取る 者も 立っていることができず， 足の 速い 者ものがれることができず， 馬に 乘る 者もいのちを 救うことができない．
  3. 勇士の 中の 强い 者も， その 日には 裸で 逃げる． ··主の 御告げ． ··」
 
 
  1. Hear this word which the LORD has spoken against you, sons of Israel, against the entire family which He brought up from the land of Egypt:
  2. "You only have I chosen among all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities."
  3. Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment?
  4. Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion growl from his den unless he has captured something?
  5. Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground when there is no bait in it? Does a trap spring up from the earth when it captures nothing at all?
  1. イスラエル の 子らよ． 主があなたがた， すなわちわたしが エジプト の 地から 連れ 上ったすべての 氏族について 言った， このことばを 聞け．
  2. わたしは 地上のすべての 部族の 中から， あなたがただけを 選び 出した． それゆえ， わたしはあなたがたのすべての 咎をあなたがたに 報いる．
  3. ふたりの 者は， 仲がよくないのに， いっしょに 步くだろうか．
  4. 獅子は， 獲物がないのに， 森の 中でほえるだろうか． 若い 獅子は， 何も 捕えないのに， そのほら 穴から 叫ぶだろうか．
  5. 鳥は， わながかけられないのに， 地の 鳥網にかかるだろうか． 鳥網は， 何も 捕えないのに， 地からはね 上がるだろうか．
  1. If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the LORD done it?
  2. Surely the Lord GOD does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets.
  3. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?
  4. Proclaim on the citadels in Ashdod and on the citadels in the land of Egypt and say, "Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see the great tumults within her and the oppressions in her midst.
  5. "But they do not know how to do what is right," declares the LORD, "these who hoard up violence and devastation in their citadels."
  1. 町で 角笛が 鳴ったら， 民は 驚かないだろうか． 町にわざわいが 起これば， それは 主が 下されるのではないだろうか．
  2. まことに， 神である 主は， そのはかりごとを， ご 自分のしもべ， 預言者たちに 示さないでは， 何事もなさらない．
  3. 獅子がほえる． だれが 恐れないだろう． 神である 主が 語られる． だれが 預言しないでいられよう．
  4. アシュドデ の 宮殿と， エジプト の 地の 宮殿に 告げて 言え． 「サマリヤ の 山¿の 上に 集まり， そのうちの 大恐慌と， その 中のしいたげを 見よ．
  5. 彼らは 正しいことを 行なうことを 知らない． ··主の 御告げ． ··彼らは 自分たちの 宮殿で， 暴虐と 暴行を 重ねている． 」
  1. Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, "An enemy, even one surrounding the land, Will pull down your strength from you And your citadels will be looted."
  2. Thus says the LORD, "Just as the shepherd snatches from the lion's mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, So will the sons of Israel dwelling in Samaria be snatched away-- With the corner of a bed and the cover of a couch!
  3. "Hear and testify against the house of Jacob," Declares the Lord GOD, the God of hosts.
  4. "For on the day that I punish Israel's transgressions, I will also punish the altars of Bethel; The horns of the altar will be cut off And they will fall to the ground.
  5. "I will also smite the winter house together with the summer house; The houses of ivory will also perish And the great houses will come to an end," Declares the LORD.
  1. それゆえ， 神である 主はこう 仰せられる． 「敵だ． この 國を 取り 圍んでいる． 彼はあなたの 權威を 地に 落とし， あなたの 宮殿はかすめ 奪われる． 」
  2. 主はこう 仰せられる． 「羊飼いが， 雄獅子の 口から， 二本の 足， あるいは 耳たぶを 取り 返すように， サマリヤ に 住んでいる イスラエル の 子らは， 寢台の 隅や ダマスコ の 長いすから 救い 出される． 」
  3. 「聞け． そして， これを ヤコブ の 家に 證言せよ． ··神である 主， 万軍の 神の 御告げ． ··
  4. まことに， イスラエル がわたしに 犯したそむきの 罪を， わたしが 罰する 日に， わたしは ベテル の 祭壇を 罰する． その 祭壇の 角は 折られて， 地に 落ちる．
