- Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.
- By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.
- For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
- For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.
- Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

- すべて イエス の キリスト であることを 信じる 者は， 神から 生れた 者である． すべて 生んで 下さったかたを 愛する 者は， そのかたから 生れた 者をも 愛するのである．
- 神を 愛してその 戒めを 行えば， それによってわたしたちは， 神の 子たちを 愛していることを 知るのである．
- 神を 愛するとは， すなわち， その 戒めを 守ることである． そして， その 戒めはむずかしいものではない．
- なぜなら， すべて 神から 生れた 者は， 世に 勝つからである． そして， わたしたちの 信仰こそ， 世に 勝たしめた 勝利の 力である．
- 世に 勝つ 者はだれか． イエス を 神の 子と 信じる 者ではないか．

- This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
- For there are three that testify:
- the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
- If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.
- The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.

- この イエス · キリスト は， 水と 血とをとおってこられたかたである． 水によるだけではなく， 水と 血とによってこられたのである． そのあかしをするものは， 御靈である． 御靈は 眞理だからである．
- あかしをするものが， 三つある．
- 御靈と 水と 血とである． そして， この 三つのものは 一致する．
- わたしたちは 人間のあかしを 受けいれるが， しかし， 神のあかしはさらにまさっている． 神のあかしというのは， すなわち， 御子について 立てられたあかしである．
- 神の 子を 信じる 者は， 自分のうちにこのあかしを 持っている． 神を 信じない 者は， 神を 僞り 者とする． 神が 御子についてあかしせられたそのあかしを， 信じていないからである．

- And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
- He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
- These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
- This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
- And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

- そのあかしとは， 神が 永遠のいのちをわたしたちに 賜わり， かつ， そのいのちが 御子のうちにあるということである．
- 御子を 持つ 者はいのちを 持ち， 神の 御子を 持たない 者はいのちを 持っていない．
- これらのことをあなたがたに 書きおくったのは， 神の 子の 御名を 信じるあなたがたに， 永遠のいのちを 持っていることを， 悟らせるためである．
- わたしたちが 神に 對していだいている 確信は， こうである． すなわち， わたしたちが 何事でも 神の 御旨に 從って 願い 求めるなら， 神はそれを 聞きいれて 下さるということである．
- そして， わたしたちが 願い 求めることは， なんでも 聞きいれて 下さるとわかれば， 神に 願い 求めたことはすでにかなえられたことを， 知るのである．

- If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not leading to death There is a sin leading to death; I do not say that he should make request for this.
- All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
- We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.
- We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
- And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ This is the true God and eternal life.

- もしだれかが 死に 至ることのない 罪を 犯している 兄弟を 見たら， 神に 願い 求めなさい． そうすれば 神は， 死に 至ることのない 罪を 犯している 人¿には， いのちを 賜わるであろう． 死に 至る 罪がある． これについては， 願い 求めよ， とは 言わない．
- 不義はすべて， 罪である． しかし， 死に 至ることのない 罪もある．
- すべて 神から 生れた 者は 罪を 犯さないことを， わたしたちは 知っている． 神から 生れたかたが 彼を 守っていて 下さるので， 惡しき 者が 手を 觸れるようなことはない．
- また， わたしたちは 神から 出た 者であり， 全世界は 惡しき 者の 配下にあることを， 知っている．
- さらに， 神の 子がきて， 眞實なかたを 知る 知力をわたしたちに 授けて 下さったことも， 知っている． そして， わたしたちは， 眞實なかたにおり， 御子 イエス · キリスト におるのである． このかたは 眞實な 神であり， 永遠のいのちである．

- Little children, guard yourselves from idols.

- 子たちよ． 氣をつけて， 偶像を 避けなさい．
