- On the twenty-first of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet saying,
- "Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people saying,
- 'Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Does it not seem to you like nothing in comparison?
- 'But now take courage, Zerubbabel,' declares the LORD, 'take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,' declares the LORD, 'and work; for I am with you,' declares the LORD of hosts.
- 'As for the promise which I made you when you came out of Egypt, My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear!'

- 七月二十一日に， 主の 言葉が， 預言者 ハガイ を 通して 臨んだ．
- 「ユダ の 總督 シャルティエル の 子 ゼルバベル と 大祭司 ヨツァダク の 子 ヨシュア ， および 民の 殘りの 者に 告げなさい．
- お 前たち， 殘った 者のうち ／誰が， 昔の 榮光のときのこの 神殿を 見たか． 今， お 前たちが 見ている 樣は 何か． 目に 映るのは 無に 等しいものではないか．
- 今こそ， ゼルバベル よ， 勇氣を 出せと ／主は 言われる． 大祭司 ヨツァダク の 子 ヨシュア よ， 勇氣を 出せ． 國の 民は 皆， 勇氣を 出せ， と 主は 言われる． ¿け， わたしはお 前たちと 共にいると ／万軍の 主は 言われる．
- ここに， お 前たちが エジプト を 出たとき ／わたしがお 前たちと 結んだ 契約がある． わたしの 靈はお 前たちの 中にとどまっている． 恐れてはならない．

- "For thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land.
- 'I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD of hosts.
- 'The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,' declares the LORD of hosts.
- 'The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and in this place I will give peace,' declares the LORD of hosts."
- On the twenty-fourth of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Haggai the prophet, saying,

- まことに， 万軍の 主はこう 言われる． わたしは， 間もなくもう 一度 ／天と 地を， 海と 陸地を ¿り 動かす．
- 諸國の 民をことごとく ¿り 動かし ／諸國のすべての 民の 財寶をもたらし ／この 神殿を 榮光で 滿たす， と 万軍の 主は 言われる．
- 銀はわたしのもの， 金もわたしのものと ／万軍の 主は 言われる．
- この 新しい 神殿の 榮光は 昔の 神殿にまさると ／万軍の 主は 言われる． この 場所にわたしは 平和を 與える 」と ／万軍の 主は 言われる．
- ダレイオス の 第二年九月二十四日， 預言者 ハガイ に 主の 言葉が 臨んだ．

- "Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Ask now the priests for a ruling:
- 'If a man carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and touches bread with this fold, or cooked food, wine, oil, or any other food, will it become holy?'" And the priests answered, "No."
- Then Haggai said, "If one who is unclean from a corpse touches any of these, will the latter become unclean?" And the priests answered, "It will become unclean."
- Then Haggai said, " 'So is this people. And so is this nation before Me,' declares the LORD, 'and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.
- 'But now, do consider from this day onward: before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the LORD,

- 「万軍の 主はこう 言われる． 祭司たちに， 律法について 尋ねなさい．
- 『もし， だれかが， 聖別された 肉を 衣の ¿に 入れて 運んでいて， その ¿が パン ， 煮物， ぶどう 酒， 油， そのほか 何かの 食物に 觸れたとする． これらのものは 聖別されるだろうか 』と． 」祭司たちは 答えて， 「されない 」と 言った．
- ハガイ は 言った． 「もし， 死體に 觸れて 汚れた 人が， これらのものの 何かに 觸れたとする． これらのものは 汚れるだろうか． 」祭司たちは 答えて， 「汚れる 」と 言った．
- ハガイ は 答えて 言った． 「わたしにとって， この 民はまさにそのようだ． この 國はまさにそのようだ， と 主は 言われる． 彼らの 手の 業もすべてそのようだ． 彼らがそこにおいてささげるものは 汚れている．
- 今日この 日から 以後， よく 心に 留めよ． 主の 神殿の 石を 積み 重ねる 前に

- from that time when one came to a grain heap of twenty measures, there would be only ten; and when one came to the wine vat to draw fifty measures, there would be only twenty.
- 'I smote you and every work of your hands with blasting wind, mildew and hail; yet you did not come back to Me,' declares the LORD.
- 'Do consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month; from the day when the temple of the LORD was founded, consider:
- 'Is the seed still in the barn? Even including the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree, it has not borne fruit. Yet from this day on I will bless you.'"
- Then the word of the LORD came a second time to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,

- お 前たちはどんな 狀態であったか． 人が 二十 エファ の 小麥の 山に 來ても ／十 エファ しか 得ず ／五十 バト のぶどう 酒をくもうと 酒ぶねに 來ても ／二十 バト しか 得なかった．
- わたしは， お 前たちを ／その 手の ¿きの 實もろとも ／黑穗病と 赤さび 病と 音で 擊ったが ／お 前たちのうちだれひとり ／わたしに 歸らなかった， と 主は 言われる．
- この 日以後， よく 心に 留めよ． この 九月二十四日 ／主の 神殿の 基が 置かれたこの 日から， 心に 留めよ．
- 倉には， まだ 種があるか． ぶどう， いちじく， ざくろ， オリ ― ブ は ／まだ 實を 結んでいない． しかし， 今日この 日から， わたしは 祝福を 與える． 」
- 同じ 月の 二十四日 ／主の 言葉が 再び ハガイ に 臨んだ．

- "Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah, saying, 'I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.
- 'I will overthrow the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots and their riders, and the horses and their riders will go down, everyone by the sword of another.'
- 'On that day,' declares the LORD of hosts, 'I will take you, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, My servant,' declares the LORD, 'and I will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you,'" declares the LORD of hosts.

- 「ユダ の 總督 ゼルバベル に 告げよ． わたしは 天と 地を ¿り 動かす．
- わたしは 國¿の 王座を 倒し ／異邦の 國¿の 力を ¿く． 馬を 驅る 者もろとも 戰車を 覆す． 馬も， 馬を 驅る 者も ／互いに 味方の 劍にかかって 倒れる．
- その 日には， と 万軍の 主は 言われる． わが 僕， シェアルティエル の 子 ゼルバベル よ ／わたしはあなたを 迎え 入れる， と 主は 言われる． わたしはあなたをわたしの 印章とする． わたしがあなたを 選んだからだ 」と ／万軍の 主は 言われる．
