	에스라 7:1-8:20 아닥사스다 왕은 조서를 내려 율법 학사 겸 제사장인 에스라와 그의 백성들을 바벨론에서 예루살렘으로 귀환시켰다. 이는 에스라를 중심으로 한 제2차 귀환이었다. 에스라와 함께 귀환한 명단이 유명 가문별 족보로 기록되었다.

	에스라의 귀환(7:1-7:28)

Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, there went up Ezra son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah,

son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub,

son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth,

son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki,

son of Abishua, son of Phinehas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the chief priest.

이 일 후에 바사 왕 아닥사스다가 왕위에 있을 때에 에스라라 하는 자가 있으니라 그는 스라야의 아들이요 아사랴의 손자요 힐기야의 증손이요

살룸의 현손이요 사독의 오대 손이요 아히둡의 육대 손이요

아마랴의 칠대 손이요 아사랴의 팔대 손이요 므라욧의 구대 손이요

스라히야의 십대 손이요 웃시엘의 십일대 손이요 북기의 십이대 손이요

아비수아의 십삼대 손이요 비느하스의 십사대 손이요 엘르아살의 십오대 손이요 대제사장 아론의 십육대 손이라

This Ezra went up from Babylon, and he was a scribe skilled in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given; and the king granted him all he requested because the hand of the LORD his God was upon him.

Some of the sons of Israel and some of the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers and the temple servants went up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes.

He came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

For on the first of the first month he began to go up from Babylon; and on the first of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, because the good hand of his God was upon him.

For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.

이 에스라가 바벨론에서 올라왔으니 그는 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 주신 모세의 율법에 익숙한 학자로서 그의 하나님 여호와의 도우심을 입음으로 왕에게 구하는 것은 다 받는 자이더니

아닥사스다 왕 제칠년에 이스라엘 자손과 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 노래하는 자들과 문지기들과 느디님 사람들 중에 몇 사람이 예루살렘으로 올라올 때에

이 에스라가 올라왔으니 왕의 제칠년 다섯째 달이라

첫째 달 초하루에 바벨론에서 길을 떠났고 하나님의 선한 손의 도우심을 입어 다섯째 달 초하루에 예루살렘에 이르니라

에스라가 여호와의 율법을 연구하여 준행하며 율례와 규례를 이스라엘에게 가르치기로 결심하였었더라

Now this is the copy of the decree which King Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, learned in the words of the commandments of the LORD and His statutes to Israel:

"Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace. And now

I have issued a decree that any of the people of Israel and their priests and the Levites in my kingdom who are willing to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.

"Forasmuch as you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem according to the law of your God which is in your hand,

and to bring the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem,

여호와의 계명의 말씀과 이스라엘에게 주신 율례 학자요 학자 겸 제사장인 에스라에게 아닥사스다 왕이 내린 조서의 초본은 아래와 같으니라

모든 왕의 왕 아닥사스다는 하늘의 하나님의 율법에 완전한 학자 겸 제사장 에스라에게

조서를 내리노니 우리 나라에 있는 이스라엘 백성과 그들 제사장들과 레위 사람들 중에 예루살렘으로 올라갈 뜻이 있는 자는 누구든지 너와 함께 갈지어다

너는 네 손에 있는 네 하나님의 율법을 따라 유다와 예루살렘의 형편을 살피기 위하여 왕과 일곱 자문관의 보냄을 받았으니

왕과 자문관들이 예루살렘에 거하시는 이스라엘 하나님께 성심으로 드리는 은금을 가져가고

with all the silver and gold which you find in the whole province of Babylon, along with the freewill offering of the people and of the priests, who offered willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem;

with this money, therefore, you shall diligently buy bulls, rams and lambs, with their grain offerings and their drink offerings and offer them on the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.

"Whatever seems good to you and to your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and gold, you may do according to the will of your God.

"Also the utensils which are given to you for the service of the house of your God, deliver in full before the God of Jerusalem.

"The rest of the needs for the house of your God, for which you may have occasion to provide, provide for it from the royal treasury.

또 네가 바벨론 온 도에서 얻을 모든 은금과 및 백성과 제사장들이 예루살렘에 있는 그들의 하나님의 성전을 위하여 기쁘게 드릴 예물을 가져다가

그들의 돈으로 수송아지와 숫양과 어린 양과 그 소제와 그 전제의 물품을 신속히 사서 예루살렘 네 하나님의 성전 제단 위에 드리고

그 나머지 은금은 너와 너의 형제가 좋게 여기는 일에 너희 하나님의 뜻을 따라 쓸지며

네 하나님의 성전에서 섬기는 일을 위하여 네게 준 그릇은 예루살렘 하나님 앞에 드리고

그 외에도 네 하나님의 성전에 쓰일 것이 있어서 네가 드리고자 하거든 무엇이든지 궁중창고에서 내다가 드릴지니라

"I, even I, King Artaxerxes, issue a decree to all the treasurers who are in the provinces beyond the River, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, may require of you, it shall be done diligently,

even up to 100 talents of silver, 100 kors of wheat, 100 baths of wine, 100 baths of oil, and salt as needed.

"Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done with zeal for the house of the God of heaven, so that there will not be wrath against the kingdom of the king and his sons.

"We also inform you that it is not allowed to impose tax, tribute or toll on any of the priests, Levites, singers, doorkeepers, Nethinim or servants of this house of God.

"You, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God which is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges that they may judge all the people who are in the province beyond the River, even all those who know the laws of your God; and you may teach anyone who is ignorant of them.

나 곧 아닥사스다 왕이 유브라데 강 건너편 모든 창고지기에게 조서를 내려 이르기를 하늘의 하나님의 율법 학자 겸 제사장 에스라가 무릇 너희에게 구하는 것을 신속히 시행하되

은은 백 달란트까지, 밀은 백 고르까지, 포도주는 백 밧까지, 기름도 백 밧까지 하고 소금은 정량 없이 하라

무릇 하늘의 하나님의 전을 위하여 하늘의 하나님이 명령하신 것은 삼가 행하라 어찌하여 진노가 왕과 왕자의 나라에 임하게 하랴

내가 너희에게 이르노니 제사장들이나 레위 사람들이나 노래하는 자들이나 문지기들이나 느디님 사람들이나 혹 하나님의 성전에서 일하는 자들에게 조공과 관세와 통행세를 받는 것이 옳지 않으니라 하였노라

에스라여 너는 네 손에 있는 네 하나님의 지혜를 따라 네 하나님의 율법을 아는 자를 법관과 재판관을 삼아 강 건너편 모든 백성을 재판하게 하고 그 중 알지 못하는 자는 너희가 가르치라

"Whoever will not observe the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed upon him strictly, whether for death or for banishment or for confiscation of goods or for imprisonment."

Blessed be the LORD, the God of our fathers, who has put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to adorn the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem,

and has extended lovingkindness to me before the king and his counselors and before all the king's mighty princes Thus I was strengthened according to the hand of the LORD my God upon me, and I gathered leading men from Israel to go up with me.

무릇 네 하나님의 명령과 왕의 명령을 준행하지 아니하는 자는 속히 그 죄를 정하여 혹 죽이거나 귀양 보내거나 가산을 몰수하거나 옥에 가둘지니라 하였더라

우리 조상들의 하나님 여호와를 송축할지로다 그가 왕의 마음에 예루살렘 여호와의 성전을 아름답게 할 뜻을 두시고

또 나로 왕과 그의 보좌관들 앞과 왕의 권세 있는 모든 방백의 앞에서 은혜를 얻게 하셨도다 내 하나님 여호와의 손이 내 위에 있으므로 내가 힘을 얻어 이스라엘 중에 우두머리들을 모아 나와 함께 올라오게 하였노라

	에스라와 동행한 자들(8:1-8:20)

Now these are the heads of their fathers' households and the genealogical enrollment of those who went up with me from Babylon in the reign of King Artaxerxes:

of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom; of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel; of the sons of David, Hattush;

of the sons of Shecaniah who was of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah and with him 150 males who were in the genealogical list;

of the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai the son of Zerahiah and 200 males with him;

of the sons of Zattu, Shecaniah, the son of Jahaziel and 300 males with him;

아닥사스다 왕이 왕위에 있을 때에 나와 함께 바벨론에서 올라온 족장들과 그들의 계보는 이러하니라

비느하스 자손 중에서는 게르솜이요 이다말 자손 중에서는 다니엘이요 다윗 자손 중에서는 핫두스요

스가냐 자손 곧 바로스 자손 중에서는 스가랴니 그와 함께 족보에 기록된 남자가 백오십 명이요

바핫모압 자손 중에서는 스라히야의 아들 엘여호에내니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 이백 명이요

스가냐 자손 중에서는 야하시엘의 아들이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 삼백 명이요

and of the sons of Adin, Ebed the son of Jonathan and 50 males with him;

and of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah and 70 males with him;

and of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah the son of Michael and 80 males with him;

of the sons of Joab, Obadiah the son of Jehiel and 218 males with him;

and of the sons of Bani, Shelomith, the son of Josiphiah and 160 males with him;

아딘 자손 중에서는 요나단의 아들 에벳이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 오십 명이요

엘람 자손 중에서는 아달리야의 아들 여사야니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 칠십 명이요

스바댜 자손 중에서는 미가엘의 아들 스바댜니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 팔십 명이요

요압 자손 중에서는 여히엘의 아들 오바댜니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 이백십팔 명이요

슬로밋 자손 중에서는 요시뱌의 아들이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 백육십 명이요

and of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah the son of Bebai and 28 males with him;

and of the sons of Azgad, Johanan the son of Hakkatan and 110 males with him;

and of the sons of Adonikam, the last ones, these being their names, Eliphelet, Jeuel and Shemaiah, and 60 males with them;

and of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud, and 70 males with them.

Now I assembled them at the river that runs to Ahava, where we camped for three days; and when I observed the people and the priests, I did not find any Levites there.

베배 자손 중에서는 베배의 아들 스가랴니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 이십팔 명이요

아스갓 자손 중에서는 학가단의 아들 요하난이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 백십 명이요

아도니감 자손 중에 나중된 자의 이름은 엘리벨렛과 여우엘과 스마야니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 육십 명이요

비그왜 자손 중에서는 우대와 사붓이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 칠십 명이었느니라

내가 무리를 아하와로 흐르는 강 가에 모으고 거기서 삼 일 동안 장막에 머물며 백성과 제사장들을 살핀즉 그 중에 레위 자손이 한 사람도 없는지라

So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah and Meshullam, leading men, and for Joiarib and Elnathan, teachers.

I sent them to Iddo the leading man at the place Casiphia; and I told them what to say to Iddo and his brothers, the temple servants at the place Casiphia, that is, to bring ministers to us for the house of our God.

According to the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of insight of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, and his sons and brothers, 18 men;

and Hashabiah and Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, with his brothers and their sons, 20 men;

and 220 of the temple servants, whom David and the princes had given for the service of the Levites, all of them designated by name.

이에 모든 족장 곧 엘리에셀과 아리엘과 스마야와 엘라단과 야립과 엘라단과 나단과 스가랴와 므술람을 부르고 또 명철한 사람 요야립과 엘라단을 불러

가시뱌 지방으로 보내어 그 곳 족장 잇도에게 나아가게 하고 잇도와 그의 형제 곧 가시뱌 지방에 사는 느디님 사람들에게 할 말을 일러 주고 우리 하나님의 성전을 위하여 섬길 자를 데리고 오라 하였더니

우리 하나님의 선한 손의 도우심을 입고 그들이 이스라엘의 손자 레위의 아들 말리의 자손 중에서 한 명철한 사람을 데려오고 또 세레뱌와 그의 아들들과 형제 십팔 명과

하사뱌와 므라리 자손 중 여사야와 그의 형제와 그의 아들들 이십 명을 데려오고

다윗과 방백들이 레위 사람들을 섬기라고 준 느디님 사람 중 성전 일꾼은 이백이십 명이었는데 그들은 모두 지명 받은 이들이었더라

	정배(定配, 7:26) 죄인을 살기 어려운 곳으로 쫓아내는 형벌
