	창세기 22:1-23:20 하나님께서 아브라함의 믿음을 시험하시려고 이삭을 번제로 드릴 것을 명령하셨다. 아브라함이 이에 순종하여 모리아 산에서 이삭을 제물로 드리려 하자 하나님께서 그의 믿음을 인정하시고 준비된 수양을 드리게 하셨다. 사라가 죽은 후 아브라함은 그녀를 매장하기 위해 헷 족속 에브론으로부터 마므레 앞 막벨라 굴을 사서 소유 매장지로 삼고 사라를 장사했다.

	이삭을 제물로 드림(22:1-22:24)

Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."

He said, "Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you."

So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.

On the third day Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance.

Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you."

これらの出來事の後，神はアブラハムを試練に會わせられた．神は彼に，「アブラハムよ．」と呼びかけられると，彼は，「はい．ここにおります．」と答えた．

神は仰せられた．「あなたの子，あなたの愛しているひとり子イサクを連れて，モリヤの地に行きなさい．そしてわたしがあなたに示す一つの山の上で，全燒のいけにえとしてイサクをわたしにささげなさい．」

三日目に，アブラハムが目を上げると，その場所がはるかかなたに見えた．

それでアブラハムは若い者たちに，「あなたがたは，ろばといっしょに，ここに殘っていなさい．私と子どもとはあそこに行き，禮拜をして，あなたがたのところに戾って來る．」と言った．

Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together.

Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." And he said, "Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"

Abraham said, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." So the two of them walked on together.

Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.

Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

アブラハムは全燒のいけにえのためのたきぎを取り，それをその子イサクに負わせ，火と刀とを自分の手に取り，ふたりはいっしょに進んで行った．

イサクは父アブラハムに話しかけて言った．「お父さん．」すると彼は，「何だ．イサク．」と答えた．イサクは尋ねた．「火とたきぎはありますが，全燒のいけにえのための羊は，どこにあるのですか．」

アブラハムは答えた．「イサク．神ご自身が全燒のいけにえの羊を備えてくださるのだ．」こうしてふたりはいっしょに步き續けた．

ふたりは神がアブラハムに告げられた場所に着き，アブラハムはその所に祭壇を築いた．そうしてたきぎを ¿べ，自分の子イサクを縛り，祭壇の上のたきぎの上に置いた．

アブラハムは手を伸ばし，刀を取って自分の子をほふろうとした．

But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."

He said, "Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me."

Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son.

Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, "In the mount of the LORD it will be provided."

Then the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven,

そのとき，主の使いが天から彼を呼び，「アブラハム．アブラハム．」と仰せられた．彼は答えた．「はい．ここにおります．」

御使いは仰せられた．「あなたの手を，その子に下してはならない．その子に何もしてはならない．今，わたしは，あなたが神を恐れることがよくわかった．あなたは，自分の子，自分のひとり子さえ惜しまないでわたしにささげた．」

そうしてアブラハムは，その場所を，アドナイ · イルエと名づけた．今日でも，「主の山の上には備えがある．」と言い傳えられている．

それから主の使いは，再び天からアブラハムを呼んで，

and said, "By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son,

indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies.

"In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham lived at Beersheba.

Now it came about after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, "Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor:

仰せられた．「これは主の御告げである．わたしは自分にかけて誓う．あなたが，このことをなし，あなたの子，あなたのひとり子を惜しまなかったから，

わたしは確かにあなたを大いに祝福し，あなたの子孫を，空の星，海邊の砂のように數多く增し加えよう．そしてあなたの子孫は，その敵の門を勝ち取るであろう．

あなたの子孫によって，地のすべての國¿は祝福を受けるようになる．あなたがわたしの聲に聞き從ったからである．」

こうして，アブラハムは，若者たちのところに戾った．彼らは立って，いっしょにベエル · シェバに行った．アブラハムはベエル · シェバに住みついた．

これらの出來事の後，アブラハムに次のことが傳えられた．「ミルカもまた，あなたの兄弟ナホルに子どもを産みました．

Uz his firstborn and Buz his brother and Kemuel the father of Aram

and Chesed and Hazo and Pildash and Jidlaph and Bethuel."

Bethuel became the father of Rebekah; these eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah and Gaham and Tahash and Maacah.

すなわち長男がウツ，その弟がブズ，それにアラムの父であるケムエル，

次にケセデ，ハゾ，ピルダシュ，イデラフ，それにベトエルです．」

ベトエルはリベカを生んだ．ミルカはこれら八人をアブラハムの兄弟ナホルに産んだのである．

レウマというナホルのそばめもまた，テバフ，ガハム，タハシュ，マアカを産んだ．

	아브라함의 매장지(23:1-23:20)

Now Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years; these were the years of the life of Sarah.

Sarah died in Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan; and Abraham went in to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.

Then Abraham rose from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying,

"I am a stranger and a sojourner among you; give me a burial site among you that I may bury my dead out of my sight."

The sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,

サラの一生，サラが生きた年數は百二十七年であった．

サラはカナンの地のキルヤテ · アルバ，今日のヘブロンで死んだ．アブラハムは來てサラのために嘆き，泣いた．

それからアブラハムは，その死者のそばから立ち上がり，ヘテ人たちに告げて言った．

「私はあなたがたの中に居留している異國人ですが，あなたがたのところで私有の墓地を私に讓っていただきたい．そうすれば私のところから移して，死んだ者を葬ることができるのです．」

ヘテ人たちはアブラハムに答えて言った．

"Hear us, my lord, you are a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our graves; none of us will refuse you his grave for burying your dead."

So Abraham rose and bowed to the people of the land, the sons of Heth.

And he spoke with them, saying, "If it is your wish for me to bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and approach Ephron the son of Zohar for me,

that he may give me the cave of Machpelah which he owns, which is at the end of his field; for the full price let him give it to me in your presence for a burial site."

Now Ephron was sitting among the sons of Heth; and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the hearing of the sons of Heth; even of all who went in at the gate of his city, saying,

「ご主人．私たちの言うことを聞き入れてください．あなたは私たちの間にあって，神のつかさです．私たちの最上の墓地に，なくなられた方を葬ってください．私たちの中で，だれひとり，なくなられた方を葬る墓地を拒む者はおりません．」

そこでアブラハムは立って，その土地の人¿，ヘテ人にていねいにおじぎをして，

彼らに告げて言った．「死んだ者を私のところから移して葬ることが，あなたがたのおこころであれば，私の言うことを聞いて，ツォハルの子エフロンに交涉して，

彼の畑地の端にある彼の所有のマクペラのほら穴を私に讓ってくれるようにしてください．彼があなたがたの間でその畑地に十分な價をつけて，私に私有の墓地として讓ってくれるようにしてください．」

エフロンはヘテ人たちの間にすわっていた．ヘテ人のエフロンは，その町の門に入って來たヘテ人たちみなが聞いているところで，アブラハムに答えて言った．

"No, my lord, hear me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. In the presence of the sons of my people I give it to you; bury your dead."

And Abraham bowed before the people of the land.

He spoke to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, "If you will only please listen to me; I will give the price of the field, accept it from me that I may bury my dead there."

Then Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,

"My lord, listen to me; a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? So bury your dead."

「ご主人．どうか，私の言うことを聞き入れてください．畑地をあなたに差し上げます．そこにあるほら穴も，差し上げます．私の國の人¿の前で，それをあなたに差し上げます．なくなられた方を，葬ってください．」

アブラハムは，その土地の人¿におじぎをし，

その土地の人¿の聞いているところで，エフロンに告げて言った．「もしあなたが許してくださるなら，私の言うことを聞き入れてください．私は畑地の代價をお拂いします．どうか私から受け取ってください．そうすれば，死んだ者をそこに葬ることができます．」

エフロンはアブラハムに答えて言った．

「ではご主人．私の言うことを聞いてください．銀四百シェケルの土地，それなら私とあなたとの間では，何ほどのこともないでしょう．どうぞ，なくなられた方を葬ってください．」

Abraham listened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed out for Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, commercial standard.

So Ephron's field, which was in Machpelah, which faced Mamre, the field and cave which was in it, and all the trees which were in the field, that were within all the confines of its border, were deeded over

to Abraham for a possession in the presence of the sons of Heth, before all who went in at the gate of his city.

After this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field at Machpelah facing Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

So the field and the cave that is in it, were deeded over to Abraham for a burial site by the sons of Heth.

アブラハムはエフロンの申し出を聞き入れ，エフロンがヘテ人たちの聞いているところでつけた代價，通り相場で銀四百シェケルを計ってエフロンに渡した．

こうして，マムレに面するマクペラにあるエフロンの畑地，すなわちその畑地とその畑地にあるほら穴，それと，畑地の回りの境界線の中にあるどの木も，

その町の門にはいって來たすべてのヘテ人たちの目の前で，アブラハムの所有となった．

こうして後，アブラハムは自分の妻サラを，カナンの地にある，マムレすなわち今日のヘブロンに面するマクペラの畑地のほら穴に葬った．

こうして，この畑地と，その中にあるほら穴は，ヘテ人たちから離れてアブラハムの私有の墓地として彼の所有となった．
