느헤미야 3:1-4:23

 이스라엘 백성들은 성벽 건축과 중수에 각기 맡은 대로 헌신하였다. 산발랏과 도비야의 세력들은 성벽 건축 방해 음모를 꾸몄다. 그러나 이 사실을 안 느헤미야는 하나님께 기도하였고 백성들에게 성벽 공사를 진행할 때 노역과 파수를 번갈아 가며 참여하도록 하였다.
  
  성벽 건축자들(3:1-3:32)    
 
  1. Then Eliashib the high priest arose with his brothers the priests and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and hung its doors They consecrated the wall to the Tower of the Hundred and the Tower of Hananel.
  2. Next to him the men of Jericho built, and next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.
  3. Now the sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate; they laid its beams and hung its doors with its bolts and bars.
  4. Next to them Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz made repairs. And next to him Meshullam the son of Berechiah the son of Meshezabel made repairs. And next to him Zadok the son of Baana also made repairs.
  5. Moreover, next to him the Tekoites made repairs, but their nobles did not support the work of their masters.
  1. 때에 대제사장 엘리아십이 그 형제 제사장들과 함께 일어나 양문을 건축하여 성별하고 문짝을 달고 또 성벽을 건축하여 함메아 망대에서부터 하나넬 망대까지 성별하였고
  2. 그 다음은 여리고 사람들이 건축하였고 또 그 다음은 이므리의 아들 삭굴이 건축하였으며
  3. 어문은 하스나아의 자손들이 건축하여 그 들보를 얹고 문짝을 달고 자물쇠와 빗장을 갖추었고
  4. 그 다음은 학고스의 손자 우리아의 아들 므레못이 중수하였고 그 다음은 므세사벨의 손자 베레갸의 아들 므술람이 중수하였고 그 다음은 바아나의 아들 사독이 중수하였고
  5. 그 다음은 드고아 사람들이 중수하였으나 그 귀족들은 그 주의 역사에 담부치 아니하였으며
  1. Joiada the son of Paseah and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah repaired the Old Gate; they laid its beams and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars.
  2. Next to them Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, also made repairs for the official seat of the governor of the province beyond the River.
  3. Next to him Uzziel the son of Harhaiah of the goldsmiths made repairs And next to him Hananiah, one of the perfumers, made repairs, and they restored Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall.
  4. Next to them Rephaiah the son of Hur, the official of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs.
  5. Next to them Jedaiah the son of Harumaph made repairs opposite his house. And next to him Hattush the son of Hashabneiah made repairs.
  1. 옛 문은 바세아의 아들 요야다와 브소드야의 아들 므술람이 중수하여 그 들보를 얹고 문짝을 달고 자물쇠와 빗장을 갖추었고
  2. 그 다음은 기브온 사람 믈라댜와 메로놋 사람 야돈이 강 서편 총독의 관할에 속한 기브온 사람들과 미스바 사람들로 더불어 중수하였고

  5. 하루맙의 아들 여다야는 자기 집과 마주 대한 곳을 중수하였고 그 다음은 하삽느야의 아들 핫두스가 중수하였고
  1. Malchijah the son of Harim and Hasshub the son of Pahath-moab repaired another section and the Tower of Furnaces.
  2. Next to him Shallum the son of Hallohesh, the official of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs, he and his daughters.
  3. Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the Valley Gate. They built it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars, and a thousand cubits of the wall to the Refuse Gate.
  4. Malchijah the son of Rechab, the official of the district of Beth-haccherem repaired the Refuse Gate. He built it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars.
  5. Shallum the son of Col-hozeh, the official of the district of Mizpah, repaired the Fountain Gate He built it, covered it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars, and the wall of the Pool of Shelah at the king's garden as far as the steps that descend from the city of David.
  1. 하림의 아들 말기야와 바핫모압의 아들 핫숩이 한 부분과 풀무 망대를 중수하였고
  2. 그 다음은 예루살렘 지방 절반을 다스리는 자 할로헤스의 아들 살룸과 그 딸들이 중수하였고
  3. 골짜기 문은 하눈과 사노아 거민이 중수하여 문을 세우며 문짝을 달고 자물쇠와 빗장을 갖추고 또 분문까지 성벽 일천 규빗을 중수하였고
  4. 분문은 벧학게렘 지방을 다스리는 레갑의 아들 말기야가 중수하여 문을 세우며 문짝을 달고 자물쇠와 빗장을 갖추었고
  5. 샘문은 미스바 지방을 다스리는 골호세의 아들 살룬이 중수하여 문을 세우고 덮으며 문짝을 달며 자물쇠와 빗장을 갖추고 또 왕의 동산 근처 셀라 못가의 성벽을 중수하여 다윗성에서 내려오는 층계까지 이르렀고
  1. After him Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, official of half the district of Beth-zur, made repairs as far as a point opposite the tombs of David, and as far as the artificial pool and the house of the mighty men.
  2. After him the Levites carried out repairs under Rehum the son of Bani. Next to him Hashabiah, the official of half the district of Keilah, carried out repairs for his district.
  3. After him their brothers carried out repairs under Bavvai the son of Henadad, official of the other half of the district of Keilah.
  4. Next to him Ezer the son of Jeshua, the official of Mizpah, repaired another section in front of the ascent of the armory at the Angle.
  5. After him Baruch the son of Zabbai zealously repaired another section, from the Angle to the doorway of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
  1. 그 다음은 벧술 지방 절반을 다스리는 자 아스북의 아들 느헤미야가 중수하여 다윗의 묘실과 마주 대한 곳에 이르고 또 파서 만든 못을 지나 용사의 집까지 이르렀고
  2. 그 다음은 레위 사람 바니의 아들 르훔이 중수하였고 그 다음은 그일라 지방 절반을 다스리는 자 하사뱌가 그 지방을 대표하여 중수하였고
  3. 그 다음은 그 형제 그일라 지방 절반을 다스리는 자 헤나닷의 아들 바왜가 중수하였고
  4. 그 다음은 미스바를 다스리는 자 예수아의 아들 에셀이 한 부분을 중수하여 성 굽이에 있는 군기고 맞은편까지 이르렀고
  5. 그 다음은 삽배의 아들 바룩이 한 부분을 힘써 중수하여 성 굽이에서부터 대제사장 엘리아십의 집 문에 이르렀고
  1. After him Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz repaired another section, from the doorway of Eliashib's house even as far as the end of his house.
  2. After him the priests, the men of the valley, carried out repairs.
  3. After them Benjamin and Hasshub carried out repairs in front of their house. After them Azariah the son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, carried out repairs beside his house.
  4. After him Binnui the son of Henadad repaired another section, from the house of Azariah as far as the Angle and as far as the corner.
  5. Palal the son of Uzai made repairs in front of the Angle and the tower projecting from the upper house of the king, which is by the court of the guard. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh made repairs.
  1. 그 다음은 학고스의 손자 우리야의 아들 므레못이 한 부분을 중수하여 엘리아십의 집 문에서부터 엘리아십의 집 모퉁이에 이르렀고
  2. 그 다음은 평지에 사는 제사장들이 중수하였고
  3. 그 다음은 베냐민과 핫숩이 자기 집 맞은편 부분을 중수하였고 그 다음은 아나냐의 손자 마아세야의 아들 아사랴가 자기 집에서 가까운 부분을 중수하였고
  4. 그 다음은 헤나닷의 아들 빈누이가 한 부분을 중수하되 아사랴의 집에서부터 성 굽이를 지나 성 모퉁이에 이르렀고
  5. 우새의 아들 발랄은 성 굽이 맞은편과 왕의 윗 궁에서 내어민 망대 맞은편 곧 시위청에서 가까운 부분을 중수하였고 그 다음은 바로스의 아들 브다야가 중수하였고
  1. The temple servants living in Ophel made repairs as far as the front of the Water Gate toward the east and the projecting tower.
  2. After them the Tekoites repaired another section in front of the great projecting tower and as far as the wall of Ophel.
  3. Above the Horse Gate the priests carried out repairs, each in front of his house.
  4. After them Zadok the son of Immer carried out repairs in front of his house. And after him Shemaiah the son of Shecaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, carried out repairs.
  5. After him Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another section. After him Meshullam the son of Berechiah carried out repairs in front of his own quarters.
  1. （때에 느디님 사람은 오벨에 거하여 동편 수문과 마주 대한 곳에서부터 내어민 망대까지 미쳤느니라）
  2. 그 다음은 드고아 사람들이 한 부분을 중수하여 내어민 큰 망대와 마주 대한 곳에서부터 오벨 성벽까지 이르렀느니라
  3. 마문 위로부터는 제사장들이 각각 자기 집과 마주 대한 부분을 중수하였고
  4. 그 다음은 임멜의 아들 사독이 자기 집과 마주 대한 부분을 중수하였고 그 다음은 동문지기 스가냐의 아들 스마야가 중수하였고
  5. 그 다음은 셀레먀의 아들 하나냐와 살랍의 여섯째 아들 하눈이 한 부분을 중수하였고 그 다음은 베레갸의 아들 므술람이 자기 침방과 마주 대한 부분을 중수하였고
  1. After him Malchijah, one of the goldsmiths, carried out repairs as far as the house of the temple servants and of the merchants, in front of the Inspection Gate and as far as the upper room of the corner.
  2. Between the upper room of the corner and the Sheep Gate the goldsmiths and the merchants carried out repairs.
  1. 그 다음은 금장색 말기야가 함밉갓 문과 마주 대한 부분을 중수하여 느디님 사람과 상고들의 집에서부터 성 모퉁이 누에 이르렀고
  2. 성 모퉁이 누에서 양문까지는 금장색과 상고들이 중수하였느니라
 
  방해 세력(4:1-4:23)    
 
  1. Now it came about that when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became furious and very angry and mocked the Jews.
  2. He spoke in the presence of his brothers and the wealthy men of Samaria and said, "What are these feeble Jews doing? Are they going to restore it for themselves? Can they offer sacrifices? Can they finish in a day? Can they revive the stones from the dusty rubble even the burned ones?"
  3. Now Tobiah the Ammonite was near him and he said, "Even what they are building--if a fox should jump on it, he would break their stone wall down!"
  4. Hear, O our God, how we are despised! Return their reproach on their own heads and give them up for plunder in a land of captivity.
  5. Do not forgive their iniquity and let not their sin be blotted out before You, for they have demoralized the builders.
  1. 산발랏이 우리가 성을 건축한다 함을 듣고 크게 분노하여 유다 사람을 비웃으며
  2. 자기 형제들과 사마리아 군대 앞에서 말하여 가로되 이 미약한 유다 사람들의 하는 일이 무엇인가, 스스로 견고케 하려는가, 제사를 드리려는가, 하루에 필역하려는가, 소화된 돌을 흙 무더기에서 다시 일으키려는가 하고
  3. 암몬 사람 도비야는 곁에 섰다가 가로되 저들의 건축하는 성벽은 여우가 올라가도 곧 무너지리라 하더라
  4. 우리 하나님이여 들으시옵소서 우리가 업신여김을 당하나이다 원컨대 저희의 욕하는 것으로 자기의 머리에 돌리사 노략거리가 되어 이방에 사로잡히게 하시고
  5. 주의 앞에서 그 악을 덮어 두지 마옵시며 그 죄를 도말하지 마옵소서 저희가 건축하는 자 앞에서 주의 노를 격동하였음이니이다 하고
  1. So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.
  2. Now when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the Ashdodites heard that the repair of the walls of Jerusalem went on, and that the breaches began to be closed, they were very angry.
  3. All of them conspired together to come and fight against Jerusalem and to cause a disturbance in it.
  4. But we prayed to our God, and because of them we set up a guard against them day and night.
  5. Thus in Judah it was said, "The strength of the burden bearers is failing, Yet there is much rubbish; And we ourselves are unable To rebuild the wall."
  1. 이에 우리가 성을 건축하여 전부가 연락되고 고가 절반에 미쳤으니 이는 백성이 마음들여 역사하였음이니라
  2. 산발랏과 도비야와 아라비아 사람들과 암몬 사람들과 아스돗 사람들이 예루살렘 성이 중수되어 그 퇴락한 곳이 수보되어 간다 함을 듣고 심히 분하여
  3. 다 함께 꾀하기를 예루살렘으로 가서 쳐서 요란하게 하자 하기로
  4. 우리가 우리 하나님께 기도하며 저희를 인하여 파숫군을 두어 주야로 방비하는데
  5. 유다 사람들은 이르기를 흙 무더기가 아직도 많거늘 담부하는 자의 힘이 쇠하였으니 우리가 성을 건축하지 못하리라 하고
  1. Our enemies said, "They will not know or see until we come among them, kill them and put a stop to the work."
  2. When the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times, "They will come up against us from every place where you may turn,"
  3. then I stationed men in the lowest parts of the space behind the wall, the exposed places, and I stationed the people in families with their swords, spears and bows.
  4. When I saw their fear, I rose and spoke to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people: "Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses."
  5. When our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had frustrated their plan, then all of us returned to the wall, each one to his work.
  1. 우리의 대적은 이르기를 저희가 알지 못하고 보지 못하는 사이에 우리가 저희 중에 달려 들어가서 살륙하여 역사를 그치게 하리라 하고
  2. 그 대적의 근처에 거하는 유다 사람들도 그 각처에서 와서 열 번이나 우리에게 고하기를 너희가 우리에게로 와야 하리라 하기로
  3. 내가 성 뒤 낮고 넓은 곳에 백성으로 그 종족을 따라 칼과 창과 활을 가지고 서게 하고
  4. 내가 돌아본 후에 일어나서 귀인들과 민장과 남은 백성에게 고하기를 너희는 저희를 두려워 말고 지극히 크시고 두려우신 주를 기억하고 너희 형제와 자녀와 아내와 집을 위하여 싸우라 하였었느니라
  5. 우리의 대적이 자기의 뜻을 우리가 알았다 함을 들으니라 하나님이 저희의 꾀를 폐하셨으므로 우리가 다 성에 돌아와서 각각 역사하였는데
  1. From that day on, half of my servants carried on the work while half of them held the spears, the shields, the bows and the breastplates; and the captains were behind the whole house of Judah.
  2. Those who were rebuilding the wall and those who carried burdens took their load with one hand doing the work and the other holding a weapon.
  3. As for the builders, each wore his sword girded at his side as he built, while the trumpeter stood near me.
  4. I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "The work is great and extensive, and we are separated on the wall far from one another.
  5. "At whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us."
  1. 그 때로부터 내 종자의 절반은 역사하고 절반은 갑옷을 입고 창과 방패와 활을 가졌고 민장은 유다 온 족속의 뒤에 있었으며
  2. 성을 건축하는 자와 담부하는 자는 다 각각 한 손으로 일을 하며 한 손에는 병기를 잡았는데
  3. 건축하는 자는 각각 칼을 차고 건축하며 나팔 부는 자는 내 곁에 섰었느니라
  4. 내가 귀인들과 민장들과 남은 백성에게 이르기를 이 역사는 크고 넓으므로 우리가 성에서 나뉘어 상거가 먼즉
  5. 너희가 무론 어디서든지 나팔 소리를 듣거든 그리로 모여서 우리에게로 나아오라 우리 하나님이 우리를 위하여 싸우시리라 하였느니라
  1. So we carried on the work with half of them holding spears from dawn until the stars appeared.
  2. At that time I also said to the people, "Let each man with his servant spend the night within Jerusalem so that they may be a guard for us by night and a laborer by day."
  3. So neither I, my brothers, my servants, nor the men of the guard who followed me, none of us removed our clothes, each took his weapon even to the water.
  1. 우리가 이같이 역사하는데 무리의 절반은 동틀 때부터 별이 나기까지 창을 잡았었으며
  2. 그 때에 내가 또 백성에게 고하기를 사람마다 그 종자와 함께 예루살렘 안에서 잘찌니 밤에는 우리를 위하여 파수하겠고 낮에는 역사하리라 하고
  3. 내나 내 형제들이나 종자들이나 나를 좇아 파수하는 사람들이나 다 그 옷을 벗지 아니하였으며 물을 길으러 갈 때에도 기계를 잡았었느니라
