예레미야 19:1-21:14

 하나님께서는 오지병을 깨뜨리는 비유를 통해 하나님의 훈계와 교훈을 멸시한 유다의 파멸이 확정적임을 보여 주셨다. 예레미야가 성전에 올라가 이러한 심판의 메시지를 선포하자 성전의 책임자였던 바스훌이 그를 핍박하였다. 이에 예레미야는 자신의 심정을 하나님께 토로하며 탄식하였다. 그 후 바벨론이 침입하여 위기에 처하자 시드기야 왕은 예레미야에게 기도를 부탁했지만, 예레미야는 바벨론에게 항복할 것을 권유하였다.
  
  심판 선포(19:1-19:15)    
 
  1. This is what the LORD says: "Go and buy a clay jar from a potter. Take along some of the elders of the people and of the priests
  2. and go out to the Valley of Ben Hinnom, near the entrance of the Potsherd Gate. There proclaim the words I tell you,
  3. and say, 'Hear the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah and people of Jerusalem. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Listen! I am going to bring a disaster on this place that will make the ears of everyone who hears of it tingle.
  4. For they have forsaken me and made this a place of foreign gods; they have burned sacrifices in it to gods that neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah ever knew, and they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent.
  5. They have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as offerings to Baal--something I did not command or mention, nor did it enter my mind.
  1. 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 가서 토기장이의 오지병을 사고 백성의 어른들과 제사장의 어른 몇 사람을 데리고
  2. 하시드문 어귀 곁에 있는 힌놈의 아들의 골짜기로 가서 거기서 내가 네게 이른 말을 선포하여
  3. 이르기를 너희 유다 왕들과 예루살렘 거민아 여호와의 말씀을 들으라 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말씀하시되 보라 내가 이곳에 재앙을 내릴 것이라 무릇 그것을 듣는 자의 귀가 진동하리니
  4. 이는 그들이 나를 버리고 이곳을 불결케 하며 이곳에서 자기와 자기 열조와 유다 왕들의 알지 못하던 다른 신들에게 분향하며 무죄한 자의 피로 이곳에 채웠음이며
  5. 또 그들이 바알을 위하여 산당을 건축하고 자기 아들들을 바알에게 번제로 불살라 드렸나니 이는 내가 명하거나 말하거나 뜻한 바가 아니니라
  1. So beware, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when people will no longer call this place Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.
  2. " 'In this place I will ruin the plans of Judah and Jerusalem. I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies, at the hands of those who seek their lives, and I will give their carcasses as food to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth.
  3. I will devastate this city and make it an object of scorn; all who pass by will be appalled and will scoff because of all its wounds.
  4. I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another's flesh during the stress of the siege imposed on them by the enemies who seek their lives.'
  5. "Then break the jar while those who go with you are watching,
  1. 그러므로 나 여호와가 말하노라 보라 다시는 이곳을 도벳이나 힌놈의 아들의 골짜기라 칭하지 아니하고 살륙의 골짜기라 칭하는 날이 이를 것이라
  2. 내가 이곳에서 유다와 예루살렘의 모계를 무효케 하여 그들로 그 대적 앞과 생명을 찾는 자의 손의 칼에 엎드러지게 하고 그 시체를 공중의 새와 땅 짐승의 밥이 되게 하며
  3. 이 성으로 놀람과 모욕거리가 되게 하리니 그 모든 재앙을 인하여 지나는 자마다 놀라며 모욕할 것이며
  4. 그들이 그 대적과 그들의 생명을 찾는 자에게 둘러싸여 곤핍을 당할 때에 내가 그들로 그 아들의 고기, 딸의 고기를 먹게 하고 또 각기 친구의 고기를 먹게 하리라 하셨다 하고
  5. 너는 함께 가는 자의 목전에서 그 오지병을 깨뜨리고
  1. and say to them, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: I will smash this nation and this city just as this potter's jar is smashed and cannot be repaired. They will bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room.
  2. This is what I will do to this place and to those who live here, declares the LORD. I will make this city like Topheth.
  3. The houses in Jerusalem and those of the kings of Judah will be defiled like this place, Topheth--all the houses where they burned incense on the roofs to all the starry hosts and poured out drink offerings to other gods.' "
  4. Jeremiah then returned from Topheth, where the LORD had sent him to prophesy, and stood in the court of the LORD's temple and said to all the people,
  5. "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'Listen! I am going to bring on this city and the villages around it every disaster I pronounced against them, because they were stiff-necked and would not listen to my words.' "
  1. 그들에게 이르기를 만군의 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 사람이 토기장이의 그릇을 한번 깨뜨리면 다시 완전하게 할 수 없나니 이와 같이 내가 이 백성과 이 성을 파하리니 그들을 매장할 자리가 없도록 도벳에 장사하리라
  2. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 이곳과 그 중 거민에게 이같이 행하여 이 성으로 도벳 같게 할 것이라
  3. 예루살렘 집들과 유다 왕들의 집들 곧 그 집들이 그 집 위에서 하늘의 만상에 분향하고 다른 신들에게 전제를 부음으로 더러워졌은즉 도벳 땅처럼 되리라 하셨다 하라
  4. 예레미야가 여호와께서 자기를 보내사 예언하게 하신 도벳에서 돌아와 여호와의 집 뜰에 서서 모든 백성에게 말하되
  5. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 말씀하시되 보라 내가 이 성에 대하여 선언한 모든 재앙을 이 성과 그 모든 촌락에 내리리니 이는 그 목을 곧게 하여 내 말을 듣지 아니함이니라 하셨다 하라
 
  핍박받는 예레미야(20:1-20:18)    
 
  1. When the priest Pashhur son of Immer, the chief officer in the temple of the LORD, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things,
  2. he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put in the stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the LORD's temple.
  3. The next day, when Pashhur released him from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him, "The LORD's name for you is not Pashhur, but Magor-Missabib.
  4. For this is what the LORD says: 'I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; with your own eyes you will see them fall by the sword of their enemies. I will hand all Judah over to the king of Babylon, who will carry them away to Babylon or put them to the sword.
  5. I will hand over to their enemies all the wealth of this city--all its products, all its valuables and all the treasures of the kings of Judah. They will take it away as plunder and carry it off to Babylon.
  1. 제사장 임멜의 아들 바스훌은 여호와의 집 유사장이라 그가 예레미야의 이 일 예언함을 들은지라
  2. 이에 바스훌이 선지자 예레미야를 때리고 여호와의 집 베냐민의 윗문에 있는 착고에 채웠더니
  3. 다음날 바스훌이 예레미야를 착고에서 놓아 주매 예레미야가 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 네 이름을 바스훌이라 아니하시고 마골밋사빕이라 하시느니라
  4. 대저 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 보라 내가 너로 너와 네 모든 친구에게 두려움이 되게 하리니 그들이 그 원수의 칼에 엎드러질 것이요 네 눈은 그것을 볼 것이며 내가 온 유다를 바벨론 왕의 손에 붙이리니 그가 그들을 사로잡아 바벨론으로 옮겨 칼로 죽이리라
  5. 내가 또 이 성의 모든 부와 그 모든 소득과 그 모든 귀물과 유다 왕들의 모든 보물을 그 원수의 손에 붙이리니 그들이 그것을 탈취하여 바벨론으로 가져가리라
  1. And you, Pashhur, and all who live in your house will go into exile to Babylon. There you will die and be buried, you and all your friends to whom you have prophesied lies.' "
  2. O LORD, you deceived me, and I was deceived ; you overpowered me and prevailed. I am ridiculed all day long; everyone mocks me.
  3. Whenever I speak, I cry out proclaiming violence and destruction. So the word of the LORD has brought me insult and reproach all day long.
  4. But if I say, "I will not mention him or speak any more in his name," his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.
  5. I hear many whispering, "Terror on every side! Report him! Let's report him!" All my friends are waiting for me to slip, saying, "Perhaps he will be deceived; then we will prevail over him and take our revenge on him."
  1. 바스훌아 너와 네 집에 거하는 모든 자가 포로되어 옮기우리니 네가 바벨론에 이르러 거기서 죽어 거기 묻힐 것이라 너와 네가 거짓 예언을 하여 들린 네 모든 친구도 일반이리라 하셨느니라
  2. 여호와여 주께서 나를 권유하시므로 내가 그 권유를 받았사오며 주께서 나보다 강하사 이기셨으므로 내가 조롱거리가 되니 사람마다 종일토록 나를 조롱하나이다
  3. 대저 내가 말할 때마다 외치며 강포와 멸망을 부르짖으오니 여호와의 말씀으로 하여 내가 종일토록 치욕과 모욕거리가 됨이니이다
  4. 내가 다시는 여호와를 선포하지 아니하며 그 이름으로 말하지 아니하리라 하면 나의 중심이 불붙는것 같아서 골수에 사무치니 답답하여 견딜 수 없나이다
  5. 나는 무리의 비방과 사방의 두려움을 들었나이다 그들이 이르기를 고소하라 우리도 고소하리라 하오며 나의 친한 벗도 다 나의 타락하기를 기다리며 피차 이르기를 그가 혹시 유혹을 받으리니 우리가 그를 이기어 우리 원수를 갚자 하나이다
  1. But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten.
  2. O LORD Almighty, you who examine the righteous and probe the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance upon them, for to you I have committed my cause.
  3. Sing to the LORD! Give praise to the LORD! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked.
  4. Cursed be the day I was born! May the day my mother bore me not be blessed!
  5. Cursed be the man who brought my father the news, who made him very glad, saying, "A child is born to you--a son!"
  1. 그러하오나 여호와는 두려운 용사 같으시며 나와 함께하시는고로 나를 박해하는 자가 넘어지고 이기지 못할 것이오며 그들은 지혜롭게 행치 못하므로 큰 수욕을 당하오리니 그 수욕은 영영히 잊지 못할 것이니이다
  2. 의인을 시험하사 그 폐부와 심장을 보시는 만군의 여호와여 나의 사정을 주께 아뢰었사온즉 주께서 그들에게 보수하심을 나로 보게 하옵소서
  3. 여호와께 노래하라 너희는 여호와를 찬양하라 가난한 자의 생명을 행악자의 손에서 구원하셨음이니라
  4. 내 생일이 저주를 받았더면, 나의 어미가 나를 생산하던 날이 복이 없었더면,
  5. 나의 아비에게 소식을 전하여 이르기를 네가 생남하였다 하여 아비를 즐겁게 하던 자가 저주를 받았더면,
  1. May that man be like the towns the LORD overthrew without pity. May he hear wailing in the morning, a battle cry at noon.
  2. For he did not kill me in the womb, with my mother as my grave, her womb enlarged forever.
  3. Why did I ever come out of the womb to see trouble and sorrow and to end my days in shame?
  1. 그 사람은 여호와께서 훼파하시고 후회치 아니하신 성읍 같이 되었더면, 그로 아침에는 부르짖는 소리, 낮에는 떠드는 소리를 듣게 하였더면,
  2. 이는 그가 나를 태에서 죽이지 아니하셨으며 나의 어미로 내 무덤이 되게 하지 아니하셨으며 그 배로 항상 부르게 하지 아니하신 연고로다
  3. 어찌하여 내가 태에서 나와서 고생과 슬픔을 보며 나의 날을 수욕으로 보내는고
 
  멸망당할 유다(21:1-21:14)    
 
  1. The word came to Jeremiah from the LORD when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malkijah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah. They said:
  2. "Inquire now of the LORD for us because Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is attacking us. Perhaps the LORD will perform wonders for us as in times past so that he will withdraw from us."
  3. But Jeremiah answered them, "Tell Zedekiah,
  4. 'This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I am about to turn against you the weapons of war that are in your hands, which you are using to fight the king of Babylon and the Babylonians who are outside the wall besieging you. And I will gather them inside this city.
  5. I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm in anger and fury and great wrath.
  1. 시드기야왕이 말기야의 아들 바스훌과 제사장 마아세야의 아들 스바냐를 보내어 예레미야에게 말하기를 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 우리를 치니 청컨대 너는 우리를 위하여 여호와께 간구하라 여호와께서 혹시 그 모든 기사로 우리를 도와 행하시면 그가 우리를 떠나리라 하던 그 때에 여호와께로부터 예레미야에게 말씀이 임하니라

  3. 예레미야가 그들에게 대답하되 너희는 시드기야에게 이같이 말하라
  4. 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 보라 너희가 성밖에서 바벨론 왕과 또 너희를 에운 갈대아인과 싸우는바 너희 손에 가진 병기를 내가 돌이킬 것이요 그들을 이 성중에 모아 들이리라
  5. 내가 든 손과 강한 팔 곧 노와 분과 대노로 친히 너희를 칠 것이며
  1. I will strike down those who live in this city--both men and animals--and they will die of a terrible plague.
  2. After that, declares the LORD, I will hand over Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials and the people in this city who survive the plague, sword and famine, to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and to their enemies who seek their lives. He will put them to the sword; he will show them no mercy or pity or compassion.'
  3. "Furthermore, tell the people, 'This is what the LORD says: See, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death.
  4. Whoever stays in this city will die by the sword, famine or plague. But whoever goes out and surrenders to the Babylonians who are besieging you will live; he will escape with his life.
  5. I have determined to do this city harm and not good, declares the LORD. It will be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will destroy it with fire.'
  1. 내가 또 이 성에 거주하는 자를 사람이나 짐승이나 다 치리니 그들이 큰 염병에 죽으리라 하셨다 하라
  2. 여호와께서 또 말씀하시되 그 후에 내가 유다 왕 시드기야와 그 신하들과 백성과 및 이 성읍에서 염병과 칼과 기근에서 남은 자를 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손과 그 대적의 손과 그 생명을 찾는 자들의 손에 붙이리니 그가 칼날로 그들을 치되 아끼지 아니하며 긍휼히 여기지 아니하며 불쌍히 여기지 아니하리라 하셨느니라
  3. 여호와께서 가라사대 너는 또 이 백성에게 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하신다 하라 보라 내가 너희 앞에 생명의 길과 사망의 길을 두었노니
  4. 이 성에 거주하는 자는 칼과 기근과 염병에 죽으려니와 너희를 에운 갈대아인에게 나가서 항복하는 자는 살리니 그의 생명은 노략한것 같이 얻으리라
  5. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 나의 얼굴을 이 성으로 향함은 복을 위함이 아니요 화를 위함이라 이 성이 바벨론 왕의 손에 붙임이 될 것이요 그는 그것을 불로 사르리라
  1. "Moreover, say to the royal house of Judah, 'Hear the word of the LORD;
  2. O house of David, this is what the LORD says: " 'Administer justice every morning; rescue from the hand of his oppressor the one who has been robbed, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done-- burn with no one to quench it.
  3. I am against you, Jerusalem, you who live above this valley on the rocky plateau, declares the LORD-- you who say, "Who can come against us? Who can enter our refuge?"
  4. I will punish you as your deeds deserve, declares the LORD. I will kindle a fire in your forests that will consume everything around you.' "
  1. 유다 왕의 집에 대한 여호와의 말을 들으라
  2. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 다윗의 집이여 너는 아침마다 공평히 판결하여 탈취 당한 자를 압박자의 손에서 건지라 그리하지 아니하면 너희의 악행을 인하여 내 노가 불 같이 일어나서 사르리니 능히 끌 자가 없으리라
  3. 나 여호와가 이르노라 골짜기와 평원 반석의 거민아 보라 너희가 말하기를 누가 내려와서 우리를 치리요 누가 우리의 거처에 들어 오리요 하거니와 나는 네 대적이라
  4. 내가 너희 행위대로 벌할 것이요 내가 또 수풀에 불을 놓아 그 사경을 사르리라 여호와의 말이니라
