민수기 31:1-31:54

 하나님께서 미디안 정복을 명령하시자 이스라엘 자손들은 군대를 파견하여 그들을 정복하였다. 전쟁에서 돌아온 군인들은 모세를 통해 하나님께서 말씀하시는 대로 정결 예식을 거행하였고, 전쟁에서 탈취한 약탈품들을 지시에 따라 분배하였다.
  
  미디안 정복(31:1-31:54)    
 
  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people."
  3. So Moses said to the people, "Arm some of your men to go to war against the Midianites and to carry out the LORD's vengeance on them.
  4. Send into battle a thousand men from each of the tribes of Israel."
  5. So twelve thousand men armed for battle, a thousand from each tribe, were supplied from the clans of Israel.
  1. 야훼께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너는 미디안 사람들에게 이스라엘 백성의 원수를 갚아라. 그 다음에야 너는 앞서간 겨레에게로 돌아가리라."
  3. 모세가 백성에게 명령하였다. "너희 가운데서 싸우러 나갈 사람들은 나서라. 미디안을 쳐서 미디안에 대한 야훼의 원수를 갚아야 한다.
  4. 이스라엘 모든 지파들은 전사들을 천 명씩 내보내도록 하여라."
  5. 이렇게 각 지파마다 천 명씩 뽑은 이스라엘 군대의 수는 만 이천 명이 되었다.
  1. Moses sent them into battle, a thousand from each tribe, along with Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, who took with him articles from the sanctuary and the trumpets for signaling.
  2. They fought against Midian, as the LORD commanded Moses, and killed every man.
  3. Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba--the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
  4. The Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder.
  5. They burned all the towns where the Midianites had settled, as well as all their camps.
  1. 모세는 각 지파에서 천 명씩 뽑아 이룬 군대를 싸움터로 내보냈다. 그들과 함께 사제 엘르아잘의 아들 비느하스에게 거룩한 기구들과 군호를 알리는 나팔을 주어 종군시켰다.
  2. 그들은 야훼께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 미디안을 쳐서 남자는 모조리 죽였다.
  3. 이렇게 군사만 무찔러 죽였을 뿐 아니라 미디안의 왕들도 죽였는데 에위, 레켐, 수르, 후르, 레바 등 다섯 미디안 왕을 죽였고 브올의 아들 발람도 칼로 쳐죽였다.
  4. 이스라엘 백성은 미디안 여인들과 아이들을 사로잡고 가축과 양떼 등 재산을 모두 약탈하고는
  5. 그들이 살던 촌락들과 천막촌들에 불을 질러버렸다.
  1. They took all the plunder and spoils, including the people and animals,
  2. and brought the captives, spoils and plunder to Moses and Eleazar the priest and the Israelite assembly at their camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho.
  3. Moses, Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the community went to meet them outside the camp.
  4. Moses was angry with the officers of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--who returned from the battle.
  5. "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them.
  1. 그들은 사람이고 짐승이고 닥치는 대로 노략질하여 전리품으로 삼았다.
  2. 그들은 포로와 노략질한 전리품을 예리고 근처 요르단 강 가 모압 평야에 있는 모세와 엘르아잘 사제와 이스라엘 백성 회중의 진지로 가져왔다.
  3. 모세와 엘르아잘 사제와 회중의 대표들은 그들을 맞으러 진지 밖으로 나갔다.
  4. 그러나 모세는 싸움터에서 돌아오는 군대 지휘관들, 천인대장, 백인대장들을 보고 화가 나서
  5. 야단쳤다. "어찌하여 이렇게 여자들을 모두 살려주었느냐?
  1. "They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD's people.
  2. Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man,
  3. but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.
  4. "All of you who have killed anyone or touched anyone who was killed must stay outside the camp seven days. On the third and seventh days you must purify yourselves and your captives.
  5. Purify every garment as well as everything made of leather, goat hair or wood."
  1. 브올에서 그 사건이 일어났을 때 이것들이 바로 발람의 말을 듣고 이스라엘 백성을 꾀지 않았느냐? 야훼를 배신하게 한 것들이 바로 이것들이 아니냐? 야훼의 회중에 염병이 내린 것도 이것들 때문이 아니냐?
  2. 아이들 가운데서도 사내 녀석들은 당장 죽여라. 남자를 안 일이 있는 여자도 다 죽여라.
  3. 다만 남자를 안 일이 없는 처녀들은 너희를 위하여 살려두어라.
  4. 그리고 너희는 칠 일간 진지 밖에 머물러 있어야 한다. 사람을 죽였거나 전사자에게 닿은 사람은 모두 사흗날과 이렛날에 부정을 벗는 예식을 올려야 한다.
  5. 또 옷가지들, 가죽 제품 염소 털로 짠 것, 나무로 만든 온갖 것도 부정을 벗겨야 한다."
  1. Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, "This is the requirement of the law that the LORD gave Moses:
  2. Gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, lead
  3. and anything else that can withstand fire must be put through the fire, and then it will be clean. But it must also be purified with the water of cleansing. And whatever cannot withstand fire must be put through that water.
  4. On the seventh day wash your clothes and you will be clean. Then you may come into the camp."
  5. The LORD said to Moses,
  1. 사제 엘르아잘이 싸우고 돌아온 군인들에게 일렀다. "야훼께서 모세에게 명령하신 법규는 이러하다.
  2. 금, 은, 구리, 쇠, 주석, 납 같은
  3. 불에 타지 않을 것은 불에 넣었다 꺼내면 깨끗해지지만, 다시 더러움을 씻는 물로 부정을 벗겨야 한다. 불에 타버릴 것은 무엇이든지 물에 담갔다 꺼내면 된다.
  4. 옷은 이레째 되는 날 빨아서 깨끗이 하여야 한다. 그래야 진 안으로 들어올 수 있다."
  5. 야훼께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  1. "You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the community are to count all the people and animals that were captured.
  2. Divide the spoils between the soldiers who took part in the battle and the rest of the community.
  3. From the soldiers who fought in the battle, set apart as tribute for the LORD one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep or goats.
  4. Take this tribute from their half share and give it to Eleazar the priest as the LORD's part.
  5. From the Israelites' half, select one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats or other animals. Give them to the Levites, who are responsible for the care of the LORD's tabernacle."
  1. "너와 엘르아잘 사제와 회중의 집안 어른들은 노략물과 사로잡아 온 사람과 짐승들을 세어보아라.
  2. 그리고 너는 그것을 반으로 갈라서 반은 싸우러 나갔던 전사에게, 반은 온 회중에게 나누어주어라.
  3. 그리고 싸우러 나갔던 군인들에게서 야훼에게 드릴 헌납품을 떼어내어라. 사람이든 소든 나귀든 양이든 그 오백 분의 일을
  4. 그들이 차지한 것의 절반에서 떼어내어 엘르아잘 사제에게 주어라. 이것이 야훼에게 바칠 예물이다.
  5. 야훼의 성막을 보살피는 레위인들에게는 이스라엘 백성이 차지한 것의 절반에서 사람이든 소든 나귀든 양이든 그 모든 것의 오십분의 일을 떼어주어라."
  1. So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
  2. The plunder remaining from the spoils that the soldiers took was 675,000 sheep,
  3. 72,000 cattle,
  4. 61,000 donkeys
  5. and 32,000 women who had never slept with a man.
  1. 모세와 사제 엘르아잘은 야훼께서 모세에게 명하신 대로 하였다.
  2. 군대가 약탈해 온 전리품 가운데 살아 남은 것은 양이 육십칠만 오천 마리,
  3. 소가 칠만 이천 마리,
  4. 나귀가 육만 천 마리요,
  5. 사람은 삼만 이천 명이었는데, 이들은 모두 남자를 안 일이 없는 처녀들이었다.
  1. The half share of those who fought in the battle was: 337,500 sheep,
  2. of which the tribute for the LORD was 675;
  3. 36,000 cattle, of which the tribute for the LORD was 72;
  4. 30,500 donkeys, of which the tribute for the LORD was 61;
  5. 16,000 people, of which the tribute for the LORD was 32.
  1. 그 절반은 싸우러 나갔던 자들의 몫으로 돌아갔는데 양이 삼십삼만 칠천오백 마리였다.
  2. 그 양떼 가운데서 야훼께 드린 헌납품은 육백일흔다섯 마리였다.
  3. 소는 삼만 육천 마리였는데 그 가운데서 야훼께 드린 헌납품은 일흔두 마리였다.
  4. 나귀는 삼만 오백 마리였는데 그 가운데서 야훼께 드린 헌납품은 예순한 마리였다.
  5. 사람은 만 육천 명인데, 그 가운데서 야훼께 헌납된 사람은 서른두 명이었다.
  1. Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as the LORD's part, as the LORD commanded Moses.
  2. The half belonging to the Israelites, which Moses set apart from that of the fighting men-
  3. the community's half--was 337,500 sheep,
  4. 36,000 cattle,
  5. 30,500 donkeys
  1. 모세는 야훼께서 지시하신 대로 야훼께 예물로 드리는 헌납품을 엘르아잘 사제에게 주었다.
  2. 모세가 군인들에게서 떼어 이스라엘 백성에게 나누어준 나머지 절반은 다음과 같다.
  3. 회중이 떼어 받은 몫은 양이 삼십삼만 칠천오백 마리,
  4. 소 삼만 육천 마리,
  5. 나귀 삼만 오백 마리,
  1. and 16,000 people.
  2. From the Israelites' half, Moses selected one out of every fifty persons and animals, as the LORD commanded him, and gave them to the Levites, who were responsible for the care of the LORD's tabernacle.
  3. Then the officers who were over the units of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--went to Moses
  4. and said to him, "Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one is missing.
  5. So we have brought as an offering to the LORD the gold articles each of us acquired--armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings and necklaces--to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD."
  1. 사람 만 육천 명이었다.
  2. 모세는 이스라엘 백성에게 돌아가는 절반에서 사람이나 짐승을 오십분의 일씩 떼어 야훼의 성막을 보살피는 레위인들에게 주었다. 이렇게 모세는 야훼께서 지시하신 대로 하였다.
  3. 군대 지휘관들, 천인대장, 백인대장들이 모세에게 와서
  4. 보고하였다. "소관들이 부하들을 점검해 보았는데 한 사람도 없어지지 않았습니다.
  5. 우리는 그 일이 고마워서 야훼께 예물을 가져왔습니다. 야훼 앞에서 우리 몸의 죄를 벗고자 저마다 얻은 대로 금으로 만든 팔고리, 팔찌, 인장반지, 귀걸이, 목걸이를 이렇게 가져왔습니다."
  1. Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted from them the gold--all the crafted articles.
  2. All the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds that Moses and Eleazar presented as a gift to the LORD weighed 16,750 shekels.
  3. Each soldier had taken plunder for himself.
  4. Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD.
  1. 모세와 사제 엘르아잘은 그들에게서 금으로 만든 온갖 세공품을 받았다.
  2. 그들, 천인대장과 백인대장들이 야훼께 예물로 가져온 금은 모두 만 육천칠백오십 세겔이나 되었다.
  3. 그러나 사병들은 약탈한 것을 저마다 제 손에 넣었다.
  4. 모세와 사제 엘르아잘은 천인대장과 백인대장에게서 금을 받아가지고 만남의 장막으로 가서 야훼께 바치며 이스라엘 백성을 기억해 달라고 빌었다.
