여호수아 13:1-14:15

 하나님께서는 여호수아에게 이스라엘이 미정복한 지역을 포함하여 가나안 땅을 이미 요단 동편 지역을 분배 받은 르우벤, 갓, 므낫세 반 지파 외의 아홉 지파와 반 지파에게 분배할 것을 지시하셨다. 제비 뽑기를 통해 이스라엘 자손들은 각 지파별로 땅을 분배받았으며, 갈렙은 모세에게 약속받은 헤브론을 요구하여 기업으로 받았다.
  
  가나안 땅의 분배(13:1-13:33)    
 
  1. When Joshua was old and well advanced in years, the LORD said to him, "You are very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.
  2. "This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and Geshurites:
  3. from the Shihor River on the east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron on the north, all of it counted as Canaanite (the territory of the five Philistine rulers in Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron--that of the Avvites
  4. from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, from Arah of the Sidonians as far as Aphek, the region of the Amorites,
  5. the area of the Gebalites ; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath.
  1. 여호수아가 나이 많아 늙자 야훼께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 이제 나이 많아 늙었는데 정복할 땅은 아직도 많이 남아 있다.
  2. 남아 있는 땅으로는 불레셋 사람들의 전지역과 그술 사람들의 전지역이 있다.
  3. 이집트 동편 시홀로부터 북쪽으로 에크론 경계에 이르는 땅은 가나안 사람들의 것으로 친다. 이 불레셋 사람들의 다섯 추장은 가자, 아스돗, 아스클론, 갓, 에크론의 추장들이다. 아위 사람들은
  4. 그 남쪽에 있다. 시돈 사람들이 차지하고 있는 아라에서 아모리인과 접경한 아베카에 이르는 가나안 사람들의 전지역,
  5. 또 그발 사람의 땅과 거기에서 해 뜨는 쪽으로 헤르몬 산 아래 바알갓에서 하맛에 이르는 온 레바논 땅이 남아 있다.
  1. "As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you,
  2. and divide it as an inheritance among the nine tribes and half of the tribe of Manasseh."
  3. The other half of Manasseh, the Reubenites and the Gadites had received the inheritance that Moses had given them east of the Jordan, as he, the servant of the LORD, had assigned it to them.
  4. It extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and included the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon,
  5. and all the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, out to the border of the Ammonites.
  1. 레바논에서 미스르봇마임에 이르는 산악 지대에 사는 모든 시돈 사람들을 내가 이스라엘 사람들 앞에서 친히 몰아내리라. 그러니 내가 너에게 명한 대로 그 땅을 이스라엘 백성에게 나누어주기만 하여라.
  2. 이제 너는 이 땅을 아홉 지파와 므나쎄 지파의 절반에게 나누어주어라."
  3. 므나쎄 지파 나머지와 함께 르우벤 지파와 가드 지파는 이미 요르단 강 동편 땅을 모세에게서 유산으로 받았다. 야훼의 종 모세에게서 그들이 받은 땅은 아래와 같다.
  4. 아르논 개울 언덕 위에 있는 아로엘과 개울 가에 있는 성과 메드바에서 디본에 이르는 고원 지대 전역,
  5. 아모리 왕 시혼이 암몬 백성과 접경하고 헤스본을 수도로 하여 다스리던 모든 성,
  1. It also included Gilead, the territory of the people of Geshur and Maacah, all of Mount Hermon and all Bashan as far as Salecah-
  2. that is, the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei and had survived as one of the last of the Rephaites. Moses had defeated them and taken over their land.
  3. But the Israelites did not drive out the people of Geshur and Maacah, so they continue to live among the Israelites to this day.
  4. But to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance, since the offerings made by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as he promised them.
  5. This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Reuben, clan by clan:
  1. 길르앗과 그술 사람과 마아갓 사람의 영토, 헤르몬의 전 산악 지대, 살가에 이르는 바산 전지역,
  2. 아스다롯과 에드레이를 수도로 하고 다스리던 마지막 거인족 옥의 나라 바산이 그것이다. 모세가 그들을 쳐서 그 땅을 점령했던 것이다.
  3. 그런데 이스라엘 백성은 그술족과 마아갓족만은 쫓아내지 못하였으므로 그술과 마아갓은 이날까지 이스라엘 가운데 끼여 살고 있다.
  4. 레위 지파만은 유산을 받지 않았다. 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 약속대로 그들의 유산이 되어주셨기 때문이다.
  5. 르우벤 자손의 지파가 갈래를 따라 모세에게서 받은
  1. The territory from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and the whole plateau past Medeba
  2. to Heshbon and all its towns on the plateau, including Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon,
  3. Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,
  4. Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar on the hill in the valley,
  5. Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth
  1. 지역은 아르논 개울 중류 언덕 위에 있는 성 아로엘에서 메드바에 이르는 고원 지대 전역,
  2. 그 고원 지대에 있는 헤스본과 그 모든 위성 도시, 곧 디본, 바뭇바알, 벳바알므온,

  1. --all the towns on the plateau and the entire realm of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled at Heshbon. Moses had defeated him and the Midianite chiefs, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba--princes allied with Sihon--who lived in that country.
  2. In addition to those slain in battle, the Israelites had put to the sword Balaam son of Beor, who practiced divination.
  3. The boundary of the Reubenites was the bank of the Jordan. These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Reubenites, clan by clan.
  4. This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Gad, clan by clan:
  5. The territory of Jazer, all the towns of Gilead and half the Ammonite country as far as Aroer, near Rabbah;
  1. 이렇게 고원 지대에 있는 모든 성이었다. 이것은 헤스본을 수도로 하고 다스리던 아모리 왕 시혼의 나라였다. 그는 모세에게 패하였다. 그 땅에 살던 시혼의 장군들 에위와 레켐과 수르와 후르와 레바도 그와 함께 패하였는데, 그들은 미디안 대표들이었다.

  1. and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpah and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir;
  2. and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth and Zaphon with the rest of the realm of Sihon king of Heshbon (the east side of the Jordan, the territory up to the end of the Sea of Kinnereth ).
  3. These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Gadites, clan by clan.
  4. This is what Moses had given to the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the family of the descendants of Manasseh, clan by clan:
  5. The territory extending from Mahanaim and including all of Bashan, the entire realm of Og king of Bashan--all the settlements of Jair in Bashan, sixty towns,
  1. 또 헤스본에서 라맛미즈베와 브도님까지, 마하나임에서 로드발 지경까지,
  2. 그리고 벳하람, 벳니므라, 수꼿, 사본 등 헤스본 왕 시혼의 나머지 영토인 요르단 계곡인데, 그 경계는 요르단 강 건너 해 뜨는 쪽 계곡으로서 긴네렛 호수 한 끝에 이른다.
  3. 이렇게 가드 후손은 갈래를 따라 위와 같은 여러 성과 그 주변 지역을 유산으로 차지하였다.
  4. 므나쎄 자손의 지파 절반이 갈래를 따라 모세에게서 받은
  5. 지역은 마하나임에서 시작되는 바산 전지역, 바산 왕 옥의 영토였던 바산에 있는 야이르의 천막촌 육십 개이다.
  1. half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei (the royal cities of Og in Bashan). This was for the descendants of Makir son of Manasseh--for half of the sons of Makir, clan by clan.
  2. This is the inheritance Moses had given when he was in the plains of Moab across the Jordan east of Jericho.
  3. But to the tribe of Levi, Moses had given no inheritance; the LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he promised them.
  1. 길르앗 절반과 바산에 있는 옥의 두 수도 아스다롯과 에드레이는 므나쎄의 아들 마길이 받았지만 실상은 마길 후손의 절반이 받은 것이다.
  2. 이상은 모세가 요르단 강 건너편, 예리고 동쪽 모압 평지에서 나누어준 땅이다.
  3. 모세는 레위 지파에게는 아무런 유산도 주지 않았다. 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 약속대로 친히 그들의 유산이 되어주시기 때문이었다.
 
  요단 서편의 분배(14:1-14:15)    
 
  1. Now these are the areas the Israelites received as an inheritance in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the tribal clans of Israel allotted to them.
  2. Their inheritances were assigned by lot to the nine-and-a-half tribes, as the LORD had commanded through Moses.
  3. Moses had granted the two-and-a-half tribes their inheritance east of the Jordan but had not granted the Levites an inheritance among the rest,
  4. for the sons of Joseph had become two tribes--Manasseh and Ephraim. The Levites received no share of the land but only towns to live in, with pasturelands for their flocks and herds.
  5. So the Israelites divided the land, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
  1. 백성이 유산으로 받은 땅, 즉 사제 엘르아잘과 눈의 아들 여호수아와 이스라엘 지파의 각 가문 어른들이 이스라엘 백성에게 가나안에서 나누어준 땅은 아래와 같다.
  2. 그들은 야훼께서 모세를 시켜 명하신 대로 제비를 뽑아 아홉 지파 반에게 나누어주었다.
  3. 모세는 두 지파 반에게 요르단 강 건너편 땅을 이미 유산으로 주었던 것이다. 그러나 레위인들이 남이 받는 유산을 한몫 받지 못한 것은
  4. 요셉의 후손이 므나쎄와 에브라임 두 지파가 되었기 때문이다. 레위인들은 들어가서 살 성과 그들의 재산인 가축을 기를 목장을 받았을 뿐 땅은 분배받지 않았다.
  5. 이렇게 이스라엘 백성은 야훼께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 토지를 나누어받았다.
  1. Now the men of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, "You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh Barnea about you and me.
  2. I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions,
  3. but my brothers who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear. I, however, followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly.
  4. So on that day Moses swore to me, 'The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly.'
  5. "Now then, just as the LORD promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the desert. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!
  1. 크니즈 사람 여분네의 아들 갈렙이 유다 후손과 함께 길갈로 여호수아를 찾아와 말하였다. "당신은 아십니다. 카데스바르네아에서 있은 일입니다. 야훼께서 나와 당신의 일을 두고 하느님의 사람 모세에게 무엇이라고 말씀하셨는지 아실 줄 믿습니다.
  2. 내가 마흔 살 되던 때였습니다. 야훼의 종 모세가 이 땅을 정탐하라고 나를 카데스바르네아에서 파견하였습니다. 나는 마음에 믿어지는 바를 그에게 보고하였습니다.
  3. 나와 함께 올라갔던 형제들은 백성의 용기를 꺾어주었지만, 나는 야훼 나의 하느님께 충성을 다 바쳤습니다.
  4. 그 날 모세는 이렇게 맹세하였습니다. '네가 나의 하느님 야훼께 충성을 다했으니 네 발이 닿는 땅은 영원히 너와 네 자손의 유산이 되리라.'
  5. 이 말씀은 이스라엘이 사막 지대를 지날 때 야훼께서 모세에게 하신 말씀입니다. 그 때로부터 사십오 년이 지난 지금까지 야훼께서는 약속대로 나를 이렇게 살아 있게 하셨습니다. 지금 내 나이 여든다섯인데
  1. I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.
  2. Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as he said."
  3. Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance.
  4. So Hebron has belonged to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite ever since, because he followed the LORD, the God of Israel, wholeheartedly.
  5. (Hebron used to be called Kiriath Arba after Arba, who was the greatest man among the Anakites.) Then the land had rest from war.
  1. 모세가 나를 파견하던 그 시절처럼 나는 여전히 이렇게 건강합니다. 나는 지금도 그 때와 다름없이 힘이 있어 싸우러 나갈 수 있습니다.
  2. 야훼께서 그 때 약속해 주신 이 산악 지대를 이제 나에게 주십시오. 그 때는 당신이 들으신 대로 아나킴이 거기에 큰 성들을 튼튼히 쌓고 살고 있었습니다. 그러나 야훼께서 내 편에 서주시면 야훼의 약속대로 나는 그들을 몰아낼 것입니다."
  3. 여호수아는 여분네의 아들 갈렙에게 복을 빌어주고 헤브론을 유산으로 주었다.
  4. 그리하여 헤브론은 크니즈 사람 여분네의 아들 갈렙의 소유가 되어 오늘에 이른 것이다. 이는 그가 야훼 이스라엘의 하느님께 충성을 다한 덕분이다.
  5. 헤브론의 예전 이름은 키럇아르바였는데 아나킴 가운데서 아르바만큼 큰 인물은 없었다. 이로써 전국에서 전란이 멎었다.
