사무엘하 3:1-4:12

 이스보셋과 아브넬의 불화로 아브넬은 다윗에게 전향했다. 요압은 다윗을 방문한 아브넬을 죽여 동생 아사헬의 원수를 갚았다. 다윗이 아브넬의 죽음을 슬퍼하자 백성들은 그를 더욱 신뢰하였다. 이스보셋의 군장 레갑과 바아나가 이스보셋을 살해하여 그 머리를 들고 다윗에게 왔으나 다윗은 그들을 처형했다.
  
  다윗에게 전향한 아브넬(3:1-3:39)    
 
  1. The war between the house of Saul and the house of David lasted a long time. David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.
  2. Sons were born to David in Hebron: His firstborn was Amnon the son of Ahinoam of Jezreel;
  3. his second, Kileab the son of Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel; the third, Absalom the son of Maacah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;
  4. the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;
  5. and the sixth, Ithream the son of David's wife Eglah. These were born to David in Hebron.
  1. 사울의 집안을 지지하는 사람들과 다윗의 추종자들 사이에 전쟁이 오랫동안 계속되자 다윗은 점점 강해지고 사울의 집안은 점점 약해져 가고 있었다.
  2. 다윗은 헤브론에서 사는 동안 여섯 아들을 낳았다. 그들 중 맏아들은 이스르엘 여자 아히노암에게서 태어난 암논,

  1. During the war between the house of Saul and the house of David, Abner had been strengthening his own position in the house of Saul.
  2. Now Saul had had a concubine named Rizpah daughter of Aiah. And Ish-Bosheth said to Abner, "Why did you sleep with my father's concubine?"
  3. Abner was very angry because of what Ish-Bosheth said and he answered, "Am I a dog's head--on Judah's side? This very day I am loyal to the house of your father Saul and to his family and friends. I haven't handed you over to David. Yet now you accuse me of an offense involving this woman!
  4. May God deal with Abner, be it ever so severely, if I do not do for David what the LORD promised him on oath
  5. and transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul and establish David's throne over Israel and Judah from Dan to Beersheba."
  1. 사울의 집안을 지지하는 자들과 다윗의 추종자들 사이에 전쟁이 계속되는 동안 아브넬은 사울의 집안을 지지하는 자들 가운데서 점점 자기 세력을 굳혀 갔다.
  2. 그가 사울의 첩 중에서 아야의 딸이었던 리스바와 정을 통하자 사울의 아들 이스-보셋이 자기 아버지의 첩을 간통했다고 아브넬을 책망하였다.
  3. 그러자 그는 격분하여 이렇게 외쳤다. '내가 유다 편을 들 개 같은 인간으로밖에 보이질 않소? 내가 오늘날까지 당신의 부친 사울의 집안과 그의 형제들과 그의 친구들에게 은혜를 베풀었을 뿐만 아니라 당신을 다윗의 손에서 건져내었는데도 당신은 이까짓 여자 하나로 나를 책망한단 말입니까?
  4. 여호와께서는 사울과 그 후손들에게서 나라를 빼앗아 단에서 브엘세바까지 이스라엘과 유다 전체를 다윗에게 주겠다고 약속하였소. 내가 만일 이 약속이 이루어지도록 최선을 다하지 않는다면 하나님이 나에게 무서운 벌을 내리시기 바라겠소.'
  5. (9절과 같음)
  1. Ish-Bosheth did not dare to say another word to Abner, because he was afraid of him.
  2. Then Abner sent messengers on his behalf to say to David, "Whose land is it? Make an agreement with me, and I will help you bring all Israel over to you."
  3. "Good," said David. "I will make an agreement with you. But I demand one thing of you: Do not come into my presence unless you bring Michal daughter of Saul when you come to see me."
  4. Then David sent messengers to Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, demanding, "Give me my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for the price of a hundred Philistine foreskins."
  5. So Ish-Bosheth gave orders and had her taken away from her husband Paltiel son of Laish.
  1. 이스-보셋은 이 말을 듣고 아브넬을 두려워하여 감히 한 마디도 대답하지 못하였다.
  2. 그리고서 아브넬은 다윗에게 이런 전갈을 보냈다. '이 땅이 누구 것입니까? 나와 협상합시다. 온 이스라엘이 당신에게 넘어갈 수 있도록 내가 당신을 돕겠습니다.'
  3. 그래서 다윗은 '좋다. 하지만 한 가지 조건이 있다. 네가 사울의 딸 미갈을 나에게 데려오너라. 그렇지 않으면 내가 너와 협상하지 않겠다.' 하고 아브넬에게 통보한 다음
  4. 이스-보셋에게 이런 전갈을 보냈다. '내 아내 미갈을 나에게 돌려 주시오. 내가 그녀와 결혼하기 위해서 블레셋 사람의 포피 100개를 상납하였소.'
  5. 그러자 이스-보셋이 미갈을 그녀의 남편 발디엘에게서 데려오라고 명령하였다.
  1. Her husband, however, went with her, weeping behind her all the way to Bahurim. Then Abner said to him, "Go back home!" So he went back.
  2. Abner conferred with the elders of Israel and said, "For some time you have wanted to make David your king.
  3. Now do it! For the LORD promised David, 'By my servant David I will rescue my people Israel from the hand of the Philistines and from the hand of all their enemies.' "
  4. Abner also spoke to the Benjamites in person. Then he went to Hebron to tell David everything that Israel and the whole house of Benjamin wanted to do.
  5. When Abner, who had twenty men with him, came to David at Hebron, David prepared a feast for him and his men.
  1. 그러나 그녀의 남편이 바후림까지 울면서 자기 아내를 뒤따라오자 아브넬이 그에게 '집으로 돌아가거라.' 하고 말하였다. 그래서 그는 눈물을 머금고 되돌아갔다.
  2. 한편 아브넬은 이스라엘의 장로들과 상의하고 오랫동안 그들이 다윗을 자기들의 왕으로 삼고 싶어했던 사실을 그들에게 상기시키면서 이렇게 말하였다.
  3. '자, 때가 왔소! 여호와께서 하신 말씀을 생각해 보시오. 내가 다윗을 통해서 블레셋 사람과 다른 대적들에게서 이스라엘을 구출하겠다고 하신 말씀 말이오.'
  4. 아브넬은 또 베냐민 지파 사람들에게도 이 말을 하고 베냐민 사람들과 이스라엘 사람들의 생각을 다윗에게 보고하려고 헤브론을 향해 떠났다.
  5. 아브넬이 부하 20명을 데리고 헤브론에 도착하자 다윗은 잔치를 베풀어 그들을 환대하였다.
  1. Then Abner said to David, "Let me go at once and assemble all Israel for my lord the king, so that they may make a compact with you, and that you may rule over all that your heart desires." So David sent Abner away, and he went in peace.
  2. Just then David's men and Joab returned from a raid and brought with them a great deal of plunder. But Abner was no longer with David in Hebron, because David had sent him away, and he had gone in peace.
  3. When Joab and all the soldiers with him arrived, he was told that Abner son of Ner had come to the king and that the king had sent him away and that he had gone in peace.
  4. So Joab went to the king and said, "What have you done? Look, Abner came to you. Why did you let him go? Now he is gone!
  5. You know Abner son of Ner; he came to deceive you and observe your movements and find out everything you are doing."
  1. 아브넬은 떠날 때가 되었을 때 다윗에게 이렇게 말하였다. '내가 돌아가면 모든 이스라엘 사람들을 불러모아 그들이 당신을 왕으로 받아들일 수 있도록 하겠습니다. 그렇게 되면 당신은 원하던 것을 다 얻게 될 것이며 나라 전체를 다스리게 될 것입니다.' 그래서 다윗은 그를 안전하게 돌아갈 수 있도록 하였다.
  2. 바로 그때 요압과 그의 부하들은 적을 약탈하고 많은 전리품을 가지고 돌아왔다. 그러나 그는 아브넬이 왕을 찾아왔는데도 왕이 그를 안전하게 돌려보냈다는 말을 듣고
  3. (22절과 같음)
  4. 왕에게 가서 말하였다. '이게 무슨 일입니까? 왕에게 찾아 온 아브넬을 왕은 어째서 안전하게 돌려 보냈습니까?
  5. 왕도 잘 아시겠지만 그가 여기까지 온 것은 왕을 속이고 왕의 모든 동태를 살피기 위해서입니다.'
  1. Joab then left David and sent messengers after Abner, and they brought him back from the well of Sirah. But David did not know it.
  2. Now when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the gateway, as though to speak with him privately. And there, to avenge the blood of his brother Asahel, Joab stabbed him in the stomach, and he died.
  3. Later, when David heard about this, he said, "I and my kingdom are forever innocent before the LORD concerning the blood of Abner son of Ner.
  4. May his blood fall upon the head of Joab and upon all his father's house! May Joab's house never be without someone who has a running sore or leprosy or who leans on a crutch or who falls by the sword or who lacks food."
  5. (Joab and his brother Abishai murdered Abner because he had killed their brother Asahel in the battle at Gibeon.)
  1. 그리고서 요압은 사람들을 보내며 아브넬을 쫓아가서 그를 데려오라고 하였다. 그들이 시라 우물가에서 그를 만나 데려왔으나 다윗은 그 일에 대해서 아무것도 알지 못하였다.
  2. 아브넬이 헤브론에 도착했을 때 요압은 마치 그와 사사로운 이야기라도 하려는 듯이 그를 성문 곁으로 데리고 가서 그의 배를 찔러 죽여 자기 동생 아사헬의 원수를 갚았다.
  3. 후에 다윗은 그 일을 듣고 이렇게 말하였다. '아브넬의 피살 사건에 대해서 나와 내 백성은 조금도 죄가 없음을 여호와께서 아신다.
  4. 그 죄의 댓가가 요압과 그의 모든 가족에게 돌아가기를 원하며 또 그의 자손들을 성병과 문둥병에 걸리거나 지팡이를 짚고 다니는 불구자가 되거나 굶어서 죽거나 전쟁에서 죽기를 원한다.'
  5. 요압과 그의 동생 아비새가 아브넬을 죽인 것은 그가 기브온 전쟁에서 자기들의 동생 아사헬을 죽였기 때문이었다.
  1. Then David said to Joab and all the people with him, "Tear your clothes and put on sackcloth and walk in mourning in front of Abner." King David himself walked behind the bier.
  2. They buried Abner in Hebron, and the king wept aloud at Abner's tomb. All the people wept also.
  3. The king sang this lament for Abner: "Should Abner have died as the lawless die?
  4. Your hands were not bound, your feet were not fettered. You fell as one falls before wicked men." And all the people wept over him again.
  5. Then they all came and urged David to eat something while it was still day; but David took an oath, saying, "May God deal with me, be it ever so severely, if I taste bread or anything else before the sun sets!"
  1. 그때 다윗은 요압과 또 자기와 함께 있는 모든 사람들에게 '너희는 모두 상복을 입고 아브넬의 죽음을 애도하여라.' 하였다. 그리고서 그는 직접 상여를 따라 묘지까지 가서
  2. 아브넬을 헤브론에 장사하고 그 무덤가에서 소리 높여 울었다. 그러자 백성들도 함께 울었다.
  3. 이때 다윗 왕은 아브넬을 위해 이런 애가를 지어 불었다. '어째서 아브넬은 바보처럼 죽어야만 했는가? 네 손이 묶이지 않았고 네 발이 족쇄에 채이지 않았는데 악한에게 죽은 자처럼 네가 허무하게 죽었구나!' 그러자 모든 백성들은 다시 그의 죽음을 슬퍼하며 울었다.
  4. (33절과 같음)
  5. 아브넬을 장사하는 날 다윗이 하루 종일 아무것도 먹지 않자 모든 백성이 그에게 와서 음식을 권하였다. 그러나 다윗은 해 지기 전에 아무것도 먹지 않겠다고 하나님 앞에 맹세까지 하면서 완강히 거부하였다. 백성들은 이것을 보고 기뻐하며 왕이 하는 일이라면 무엇이든지 다 기쁘게 여겼다.
  1. All the people took note and were pleased; indeed, everything the king did pleased them.
  2. So on that day all the people and all Israel knew that the king had no part in the murder of Abner son of Ner.
  3. Then the king said to his men, "Do you not realize that a prince and a great man has fallen in Israel this day?
  4. And today, though I am the anointed king, I am weak, and these sons of Zeruiah are too strong for me. May the LORD repay the evildoer according to his evil deeds!"
  1. (34절과 같음)
  2. 그제서야 유다와 이스라엘의 모든 백성들은 다윗의 행동을 보고 그가 아브넬의 살해 사건에 조금도 관련되지 않았다는 것을 알게 되었다.
  3. 그 때 다윗은 그의 신하들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '오늘 이스라엘에서 한 사람의 위대한 지도자가 죽은 것을 그대들은 알지 못하시오?
  4. 내가 비록 하나님이 세우신 왕이지만 오늘날 내 힘이 약하여서 다루기에 벅찬 스루야의 이 두 아들을 어떻게 처리해야 할지 모르겠구나. 아무튼 여호와께서 악한 자들에게 그들의 악한 행위대로 갚아 주시기를 원할 뿐이오.'
 
  이스보셋의 최후(4:1-4:12)    
 
  1. When Ish-Bosheth son of Saul heard that Abner had died in Hebron, he lost courage, and all Israel became alarmed.
  2. Now Saul's son had two men who were leaders of raiding bands. One was named Baanah and the other Recab; they were sons of Rimmon the Beerothite from the tribe of Benjamin--Beeroth is considered part of Benjamin,
  3. because the people of Beeroth fled to Gittaim and have lived there as aliens to this day.
  4. (Jonathan son of Saul had a son who was lame in both feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel. His nurse picked him up and fled, but as she hurried to leave, he fell and became crippled. His name was Mephibosheth.)
  5. Now Recab and Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, set out for the house of Ish-Bosheth, and they arrived there in the heat of the day while he was taking his noonday rest.
  1. 사울의 아들 이스-보셋은 아브넬이 헤브론에서 죽었다는 말을 듣고 두려워 맥이 쭉 빠졌으며 모든 이스라엘 사람들도 놀라지 않을 수 없었다.
  2. 이스-보셋에게는 바아나와 레갑이라는 두 명의 지휘관이 있었다. 그들은 형제로서 이스-보셋 왕이 이끄는 두 특공대의 대장들이며 베냐민 지파의 브에롯 사람 림몬의 아들들이었다. 이 브에롯 사람들은 일찍 깃다임으로 도망가서 계속 그 곳에 살고 있으나 여전히 베냐민 사람으로 인정되었다.
  3. (2절과 같음)
  4. 사울의 아들 요나단에게는 므비보셋이라는 절뚝발이 아들 하나가 있었다. 그는 사울과 요나단이 이스르엘 전쟁에서 전사했을 때 다섯 살이었다. 그들이 죽었다는 소식이 성에 전해지자 그 아이의 유모가 그를 안고 급히 도망가다가 아이를 떨어뜨려 그때부터 절게 되었다.
  5. 어느 날 레갑과 바아나가 이스-보셋의 집을 향해 떠났다. 그들은 정오쯤 되어 그 곳에 도착했는데 그때 이스-보셋은 낮잠을 자고 있었다.
  1. They went into the inner part of the house as if to get some wheat, and they stabbed him in the stomach. Then Recab and his brother Baanah slipped away.
  2. They had gone into the house while he was lying on the bed in his bedroom. After they stabbed and killed him, they cut off his head. Taking it with them, they traveled all night by way of the Arabah.
  3. They brought the head of Ish-Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king, "Here is the head of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, your enemy, who tried to take your life. This day the LORD has avenged my lord the king against Saul and his offspring."
  4. David answered Recab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, "As surely as the LORD lives, who has delivered me out of all trouble,
  5. when a man told me, 'Saul is dead,' and thought he was bringing good news, I seized him and put him to death in Ziklag. That was the reward I gave him for his news!
  1. 그들은 밀을 가지러 온 척하고 집 안으로 들어가 침실에서 자고 있는 이스-보셋을 죽이고 그의 머리를 잘라 밤새도록 아라바 길로 도망쳐 나왔다.
  2. (6절과 같음)
  3. 그들은 헤브론에 도착하여 그 머리를 다윗에게 주면서 이렇게 말하였다. '보십시오! 왕을 죽이려고 하던 원수 사울의 아들 이스-보셋의 머리가 여기 있습니다. 오늘 여호와께서 왕의 원수를 사울과 그의 후손들에게 갚으셨습니다!'
  4. 그러자 다윗이 대답하였다. '나를 내 대적의 손에서 구원하신 여호와의 이름으로 내가 맹세한다.
  5. 내가 시글락에 있을 때 어떤 사람이 나에게 사울이 죽었습니다 하고 말해 주었다. 그는 자기가 좋은 소식을 전해 주었다고 생각했으나 나는 그를 잡아 죽였다. 그것이 바로 그가 전해 준 그 소식의 댓가였는데
  1. How much more--when wicked men have killed an innocent man in his own house and on his own bed--should I not now demand his blood from your hand and rid the earth of you!"
  2. So David gave an order to his men, and they killed them. They cut off their hands and feet and hung the bodies by the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-Bosheth and buried it in Abner's tomb at Hebron.
  1. 하물며 침실에 누워 있는 죄 없는 사람을 죽인 이 악한들을 내가 어떻게 죽이지 않겠느냐? 내가 억울하게 죽은 이스-보셋의 원수를 너희에게 갚아 이 땅에서 너희를 없애 버리고 말겠다.'
  2. 그들을 죽이라는 다윗의 명령이 떨어지자 다윗의 경호병들은 그들을 죽이고 그들의 팔다리를 자른 다음 그 시체는 헤브론 못가에 매어 달고 이스-보셋의 머리는 가져다가 헤브론에 있는 아브넬의 묘실에 장사하였다.
