열왕기상 5:1-6:38

 하나님의 섭리하심으로 솔로몬은 두로 왕 히람과 언약을 맺고 성전 건축에 필요한 자재와 기술자를 확보하였다. 그는 인력을 효과적으로 투입하여 7년 만에 성전을 완공하였다.
  
  성전 건축 준비(5:1-5:18)    
 
  1. When Hiram king of Tyre heard that Solomon had been anointed king to succeed his father David, he sent his envoys to Solomon, because he had always been on friendly terms with David.
  2. Solomon sent back this message to Hiram:
  3. "You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.
  4. But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.
  5. I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the LORD my God, as the LORD told my father David, when he said, 'Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name.'
  1. 평소에 다윗과 친분이 두터웠던 두로의 히람 왕이 솔로몬이 그의 아버지 다윗을 이어 새 왕이 되었다는 말을 듣고 그를 축하하려고 사절단을 보냈다.
  2. 그래서 솔로몬은 히람 왕에게 이런 전갈을 보냈다.
  3. '당신도 아시겠지만 나의 아버지는 계속되는 전쟁 때문에 사방의 적들과 싸우느라고 여호와의 성전을 건축하지 못하고 여호와께서 그의 모든 원수들을 물리치게 하실 때까지 기다렸습니다.
  4. 그러나 이제는 나의 하나님 여호와께서 사방에 평화를 주셔서 대적도 없고 재난을 당할 위험도 없습니다.
  5. 여호와께서는 내 아버지에게 '내가 너를 이어 왕이 되게 할 네 아들이 나를 위하여 성전을 건축할 것이다.'라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그래서 이제 내가 나의 하나님 여호와의 성전을 건축하려고 하는데
  1. "So give orders that cedars of Lebanon be cut for me. My men will work with yours, and I will pay you for your men whatever wages you set. You know that we have no one so skilled in felling timber as the Sidonians."
  2. When Hiram heard Solomon's message, he was greatly pleased and said, "Praise be to the LORD today, for he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation."
  3. So Hiram sent word to Solomon: "I have received the message you sent me and will do all you want in providing the cedar and pine logs.
  4. My men will haul them down from Lebanon to the sea, and I will float them in rafts by sea to the place you specify. There I will separate them and you can take them away. And you are to grant my wish by providing food for my royal household."
  5. In this way Hiram kept Solomon supplied with all the cedar and pine logs he wanted,
  1. 당신은 레바논의 백향목을 좀 베어 주실 수 있겠습니까? 당신의 종들에게 명령만 내리시면 내 종들을 보내 그들과 함께 일하도록 하겠습니다. 물론 당신의 종들이 일한 댓가는 충분히 지불하겠습니다. 당신도 아시겠지만 우리 나라에는 시돈 사람처럼 벌목을 잘하는 사람이 없습니다.'
  2. 히람은 솔로몬의 전갈을 받고 무척 기뻐하며 '여호와께서 다윗에게 이처럼 지혜로운 아들을 주셔서 이스라엘의 수많은 백성을 다스리게 하셨으니 여호와를 찬양하노라.' 하였다.
  3. 그리고서 히람은 솔로몬에게 이런 회답을 보냈다. '당신의 전갈을 잘 받았습니다. 당신이 요구한 대로 내가 백향목과 잣나무를 보내도륵 하겠습니다.
  4. 내 종들이 이 목재들을 레바논에서 지중해로 운반하여 거기서 뗏목으로 엮어 당신이 지정하는 해안까지 운송하겠습니다. 당신은 이것을 받으시고 내 소원대로 내 왕궁에 식량을 공급해 주십시오.'
  5. 히람이 솔로몬에게 그가 원하는 만큼의 백향목과 잣나무를 보내자
  1. and Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat as food for his household, in addition to twenty thousand baths , of pressed olive oil. Solomon continued to do this for Hiram year after year.
  2. The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, just as he had promised him. There were peaceful relations between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty.
  3. King Solomon conscripted laborers from all Israel--thirty thousand men.
  4. He sent them off to Lebanon in shifts of ten thousand a month, so that they spent one month in Lebanon and two months at home. Adoniram was in charge of the forced labor.
  5. Solomon had seventy thousand carriers and eighty thousand stonecutters in the hills,
  1. 솔로몬도 히람에게 밀 4,400킬로리터와 맑은 감람기름 440킬로리터를 보내고 그 후에도 해마다 이것을 공급해 주었다.
  2. 여호와께서는 솔로몬에게 약속하신 대로 지혜를 주셨으며 히람과 솔로몬은 정식으로 우호 조약을 맺었다.
  3. 솔로몬은 이스라엘 전국에서 30,000명의 사역군을 동원하고
  4. 그들을 10,000명씩 교대로 레바논에 보냈는데 그들이 한 달은 레바논이 있었고 두 달은 집에서 보냈다. 그리고 작업 총감독관은 아도니람이었다.
  5. 또 솔로몬은 전적으로 운반만 하는 사역군 70,000명과 산에서 돌을 뜨는 석수 80,000명과
  1. as well as thirty-three hundred foremen who supervised the project and directed the workmen.
  2. At the king's command they removed from the quarry large blocks of quality stone to provide a foundation of dressed stone for the temple.
  3. The craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram and the men of Gebal cut and prepared the timber and stone for the building of the temple.
  1. 작업 반장 3,300명도 동원하였다.
  2. 솔로몬이 작업 명령을 내리자 석수들은 크고 좋은 돌을 떠다가 성전의 기초석으로 다듬었다.
  3. 그렇게 해서 솔로몬의 건축가들과 히람의 건축가들과 그발 사람들은 성전을 지은 돌을 다듬고 목재와 석재를 준비하였다.
 
  성전 건축(6:1-6:38)    
 
  1. In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites had come out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the temple of the LORD.
  2. The temple that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty wide and thirty high.
  3. The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits, and projected ten cubits from the front of the temple.
  4. He made narrow clerestory windows in the temple.
  5. Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms.
  1. 이스라엘 백성이 이집트에서 나온 지 480년이 지나고 솔로몬이 왕이 된 지 4년째가 되는 해 2월에 성전 건축 공사를 시작하였다.
  2. 성전 규모는 길이가 27미터, 폭이 9미터, 높이가 13.5미터였으며
  3. 성전 앞의 현관 폭은 9미터이고 그 길이는 4.5미터였다.
  4. 그리고 성전 벽에는 바깥이 안쪽보다 좁은 환기창들을 내었으며
  5. 성전 옆면과 뒷면에 붙여서 3층 별관을 지었다.
  1. The lowest floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits and the third floor seven. He made offset ledges around the outside of the temple so that nothing would be inserted into the temple walls.
  2. In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.
  3. The entrance to the lowest floor was on the south side of the temple; a stairway led up to the middle level and from there to the third.
  4. So he built the temple and completed it, roofing it with beams and cedar planks.
  5. And he built the side rooms all along the temple. The height of each was five cubits, and they were attached to the temple by beams of cedar.
  1. 별관 1층에 있는 방의 폭은 약 2.3미터, 2층 방의 폭은 2.7미터, 3층 방의 폭은 약 3.2미터였다. 그리고 별관의 들보가 성전 안으로 들어가지 않고 턱의 얹힐 수 있도록 성전 외벽을 층이 지도록 쌓았다.
  2. 이 성전을 건축할 때는 채석장에서 완전히 다듬은 돌을 사용했기 때문에 건축하는 동안에 망치나 도끼나 철 연장소리가 들리지 않았다.
  3. 별관 1층의 출입문은 성전 남쪽으로 만들었으며 거기서 2층으로 올라가는 나사 모양의 층계를 만들고 또 2층에서 3층으로 올라가는 층계를 만들었다.
  4. 이렇게 해서 솔로몬은 성전 외부 공사를 마치고 서까래와 백향목으로 지붕을 만들어 덮었다.
  5. 그리고 그 3층 별관의 들보는 백향목으로 만들었으며 각 방의 높이는 약 2.3미터였다.
  1. The word of the LORD came to Solomon:
  2. "As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, carry out my regulations and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father.
  3. And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel."
  4. So Solomon built the temple and completed it.
  5. He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of pine.
  1. 그때 여호와께서는 성전을 건축하는 솔로몬에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '네가 만일 내 명령에 순종하고 나의 모든 법과 규정을 지키면 내가 너의 아버지 다윗에게 약속한 것을 이행할 것이다.
  3. 그리고 내가 이스라엘 백성 가운데 살 것이며 그들을 버리지 않을 것이다.'
  4. 솔로몬은 성전 외부 공사를 마친 다음에
  5. 내부 벽을 백향목으로 입히고 마룻바닥은 잣나무로 만들었으며
  1. He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
  2. The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.
  3. The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen.
  4. He prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.
  5. The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty wide and twenty high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.
  1. 성전 뒷벽에서 9미터 떨어진 곳에 바닥에서 천정까지 백향목 널판으로 가로막아 지성소를 만들었다.
  2. 그리고 지성소 앞에 있는 성소의 길이는 18미터이며
  3. 또 성전 내부 벽에 입힌 백향목 널판에는 조롱박과 활짝 핀 꽃들을 아로새겼는데 성전 내부 벽이 온통 백향목으로 둘러싸여 돌은 하나도 보이지 않았다.
  4. 여호와의 법궤를 두기 위해 성전 안에 지성소를 만들었다.
  5. 그 길이와 폭과 높이는 각각 9미터였으며 지성소 내부는 온통 순금으로 입히고 그 안에 백향목 단도 만들어 놓았다.
  1. Solomon covered the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.
  2. So he overlaid the whole interior with gold. He also overlaid with gold the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
  3. In the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
  4. One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing five cubits--ten cubits from wing tip to wing tip.
  5. The second cherub also measured ten cubits, for the two cherubim were identical in size and shape.
  1. 또 솔로몬은 성소 내부를 순금으로 입히고 지성소 앞에 금사슬을 쳐놓았다.
  2. 이렇게 해서 솔로몬은 성전 내부를 모두 금으로 입히고 또 지성소 안에 있는 단에도 금을 입혔다.
  3. 지성소 안에는 감람나무로 두 그룹 천사를 만들어 놓았는데 그 높이는 각각 4.5미터씩이었으며
  4. 둘 다 크기와 모양이 같고 각각 약 2.3미터 길이의 두 날개를 가졌으며 한쪽 날개 끝에서부터 다른 쪽 날개 끝까지의 길이는 4.5미터였다.

  1. The height of each cherub was ten cubits.
  2. He placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple, with their wings spread out. The wing of one cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the other touched the other wall, and their wings touched each other in the middle of the room.
  3. He overlaid the cherubim with gold.
  4. On the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer rooms, he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers.
  5. He also covered the floors of both the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold.

  2. 그리고 그 그룹들은 날개를 펴 서로 맞닿게 했는데 바깥 날개는 양쪽 벽에 닿았고 안쪽 날개는 지성소 중앙에서 서로 맞닿았다.
  3. 솔로몬은 그 그룹들도 역시 금으로 입혔다.
  4. 지성소와 지성소의 사면 벽에는 그룹 천사와 종려나무와 활짝 핀 꽃을 아로새겼으며
  5. 성전의 모든 마루바닥은 금으로 입혔다.
  1. For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood with five-sided jambs.
  2. And on the two olive wood doors he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with beaten gold.
  3. In the same way he made four-sided jambs of olive wood for the entrance to the main hall.
  4. He also made two pine doors, each having two leaves that turned in sockets.
  5. He carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers on them and overlaid them with gold hammered evenly over the carvings.
  1. 지성소 출입구에는 오각형의 문틀 안에 감람나무로 두 개의 문을 만들었으며
  2. 그 두 문짝에는 그룹 천사와 종려나무와 활짝 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 그룹 천사와 종려나무에는 금을 입혔다.
  3. 성전 출입구에는 감람나무로 사각형의 문틀을 만들고
  4. 잣나무로 두 문짝을 만들어 세웠으며 문마다 각각 두 쪽으로 접을 수 있게 하였다.
  5. 그리고 이 문짝에도 그룹 천사와 종려나무와 활짝 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 그 위에 정교하게 금을 입혔다.
  1. And he built the inner courtyard of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams.
  2. The foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid in the fourth year, in the month of Ziv.
  3. In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.
  1. 또 성전 안뜰은 다듬은 돌을 세 층으로 쌓고 그 위에 백향목 판자 한 층을 얹은 간막이로 만들었다.
  2. 솔로몬 왕 4년 2월에 성전 기초를 놓았고 11년 8월에 설계대로 성전이 준공되었으며 솔로몬이 성전을 짓는 데 소요된 총 공사 기간은 7년 6개월이었다.
 
  동독(董督, 5:16)  일을 감시하고 재촉함  
  교창(交窓, 6:4)  빛과 공기 유통을 위해 벽 상부에 낸 창
