하박국

  하박국이 활동하던 시기는 유다 왕국이 위기에 처해 있을 때였다. 당시 유다는 국외적으로는 강대국 바벨론 침략 위협을 받고 있었으며, 국내적으로는 종교적, 도적적 타락으로 절망적인 상태에 있었다. 이러한 때에 하박국은 유다에 남은 경건한 사람들을 위로하고 ‘의인은 오직 믿음으로 산다.’고 외쳤다. 이는 기독교 구원론의 근간을 마련한 것이기도 하다.

  본서는 하나님과 하박국 선지자가 나눈 개인적인 대화와 예언적 계시에 초첨을 맞추고 있다. 본서에는 하나님의 주권의 확실성이 표현되어 있으며, 의인을 향한 하나님의 사랑과 악한 바벨론을 멸하시려는 하나님의 의도가 잘 나타나 있다.

 

 

하박국 1:1-3:19

 죄악이 관영한 남유다를 공의의 하나님께서 왜 징계치 않으시는가를 질문한 하박국에게 갈대아를 심판의 도구로 삼아 그들을 심판하시겠다는 하나님의 응답이 주어졌다. 이어 하박국이 왜 유다보다 더 패역한 이방을 사용하여 유다를 심판하시는지를 다시 묻자, 하나님께서는 유다의 심판 도구인 바벨론도 결국에는 심판과 멸망을 당하리라고 말씀하셨다. 이에 하박국은 하나님의 구원을 찬양했다.
  
  공의의 하나님(1:1-3:19)    
 
  1. The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet received.
  2. How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, "Violence!" but you do not save?
  3. Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.
  4. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.
  5. "Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.
  1. 이것은 여호와께서 예언자 하박국에게 환상으로 보여 주신 말씀이다.
  2. 여호와여, 내가 언제까지 부르짖어야 주께서 들어주시겠습니까? 내가 '횡포!' 라고 외쳐도 주께서 구해 주시지 않으십니다.
  3. 어째서 나에게 불의를 보게 하시며 악을 목격하게 하십니까? 파괴와 폭력이 내 앞에 있고 다툼과 분쟁이 곳곳에 있습니다.
  4. 그래서 법이 무시되고 정의가 실현되지 못하고 있습니다. 악인이 의로운 자를 둘러싸고 있으므로 부정이 판을 치게 되었습니다.
  5. 여호와께서 말씀하셨다. '너희는 너희 주변 나라들을 지켜보아라. 그러면 너희가 놀라게 될 것이다. 내가 너희 시대에 한 일을 행하겠다. 너희가 들어도 믿지 않을 것이다.
  1. I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and impetuous people, who sweep across the whole earth to seize dwelling places not their own.
  2. They are a feared and dreaded people; they are a law to themselves and promote their own honor.
  3. Their horses are swifter than leopards, fiercer than wolves at dusk. Their cavalry gallops headlong; their horsemen come from afar. They fly like a vulture swooping to devour;
  4. they all come bent on violence. Their hordes advance like a desert wind and gather prisoners like sand.
  5. They deride kings and scoff at rulers. They laugh at all fortified cities; they build earthen ramps and capture them.
  1. 내가 사납고 성급한 백성 바빌로니아 사람을 일으키겠다. 그들은 온 세상을 휩쓸고 다니면서 남의 땅을 마구 점령하는 자들이다.
  2. 그들은 두렵고 무서우며 자존심이 강해서 그 누구의 간섭도 받지 않는다.
  3. 그들의 말은 표범보다 빠르고 저녁때의 이리보다 사나우며 그들의 기병들은 먼 땅에서도 날쌔게 달려오니 마치 먹이를 덮치려고 쏜살같이 나는 독수리와도 같다.
  4. 그들은 닥치는 대로 무자비하게 치고 전진하며 모래알처럼 많은 사람을 생포하고
  5. 왕들을 멸시하며 그 신하들을 조소하고 요새화된 성도 우습게 보고 흙 무더기를 쌓아 올려 그것을 점령하는 자들이다.
  1. Then they sweep past like the wind and go on-- guilty men, whose own strength is their god."
  2. O LORD, are you not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, we will not die. O LORD, you have appointed them to execute judgment; O Rock, you have ordained them to punish.
  3. Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?
  4. You have made men like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler.
  5. The wicked foe pulls all of them up with hooks, he catches them in his net, he gathers them up in his dragnet; and so he rejoices and is glad.
  1. 그들이 바람처럼 휩쓸고 지나가지만 자기들의 힘을 신으로 삼고 있기 때문에 죄를 면할 수 없을 것이다.'
  2. 여호와여, 나의 거룩하신 하나님이시여, 주는 영원 전부터 계시지 않으십니까? 우리는 죽지 않을 것입니다. 여호와여, 주께서 심판하시기 위해 바빌로니아 사람들을 택하셨습니다. 반석이 되시는 주여, 주께서 우리를 징계하시려고 그들을 세우셨습니다.
  3. 주의 눈은 너무 정결하셔서 악을 보지 못하시며 비행을 용납하실 수 없습니다. 그런데 어째서 거짓되게 행하는 자를 보고만 계십니까? 악인이 자기보다 의로운 자를 삼키는데 주는 어째서 침묵만 지키고 계십니까?
  4. 어째서 주는 사람을 바다의 고기나, 다스리는 자가 없는 곤충처럼 대하십니까?
  5. 바빌로니아 사람들이 낚시로 사람을 잡아 그물로 끌어 모아놓고 기뻐하고 즐거워합니다.
  1. Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, for by his net he lives in luxury and enjoys the choicest food.
  2. Is he to keep on emptying his net, destroying nations without mercy?
  1. 그들은 그 그물로 호의 호식하며 살기 때문에 그 그물에 제사를 드리고 분향합니다.
  2. 그들이 칼로 계속 여러 민족을 무자비하게 죽여도 좋단 말입니까?
 
 
  1. I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.
  2. Then the LORD replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
  3. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
  4. "See, he is puffed up; his desires are not upright-- but the righteous will live by his faith -
  5. indeed, wine betrays him; he is arrogant and never at rest. Because he is as greedy as the grave and like death is never satisfied, he gathers to himself all the nations and takes captive all the peoples.
  1. 내가 '내 망대에 올라가서 기다리며 내 질문에 대하여 여호와께서 어떻게 대답하실지 알아보고 또 내가 책망을 받을 경우 대답할 말도 생각해 보겠다.' 하였더니
  2. 여호와께서 이렇게 대답하셨다. '너는 내가 너에게 말해 주는 것을 판에 선명하게 기록하여 달려가면서도 읽어 볼 수 있게 하라.
  3. 이것이 지금 당장 이루어질 것은 아니지만 이루어질 때가 정해져 있으니 그 때가 분명히 올 것이며 반드시 이루어질 것이다. 비록 더딜지라도 기다려라. 지체되지 않고 그 때가 올 것이다.
  4. 악인은 마음이 교만하고 정직하지 못하므로 살아 남지 못할 것이나 의로운 사람은 믿음으로 살 것이다.
  5. 교만한 바빌로니아 사람들이 술의 노예가 되어 가만히 있지 못하고 한없이 욕심을 부리며 죽음처럼 만족할 줄 모르고 모든 민족을 모으며 모든 백성을 사로잡고 있다.
  1. "Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying, " 'Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on?'
  2. Will not your debtors suddenly arise? Will they not wake up and make you tremble? Then you will become their victim.
  3. Because you have plundered many nations, the peoples who are left will plunder you. For you have shed man's blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.
  4. "Woe to him who builds his realm by unjust gain to set his nest on high, to escape the clutches of ruin!
  5. You have plotted the ruin of many peoples, shaming your own house and forfeiting your life.
  1. 사로잡힌 백성들이 정복자를 비웃고 조소하며 이렇게 말할 것이다. '자기 소유가 아닌 것을 끌어모으는 자야, 너에게 화가 있을 것이다. 고리 대금업자처럼 착취하여 부유하게 된 자야, 네가 언제까지 이런 일을 계속하겠느냐?'
  2. 너의 채무자들이 갑자기 일어나서 화를 내며 너에게 달려들어 너를 떨게 하지 않겠느냐? 그들이 너를 약탈하지 않겠느냐?
  3. 네가 여러 나라를 약탈하였으므로 살아 남은 백성들이 너를 약탈할 것이다. 이것은 네가 수많은 사람을 죽이고 그들의 땅과 성을 파멸시켰기 때문이다.
  4. 재앙을 피하기 위해서 높은 곳에 자기 보금자리를 만들고 자기 집을 위해 부당한 이득을 취하는 자에게 화가 있을 것이다.
  5. 네가 여러 민족을 파멸시킴으로 네 집에 수치를 돌리고 스스로 범죄하게 되었으니
  1. The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.
  2. "Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and establishes a town by crime!
  3. Has not the LORD Almighty determined that the people's labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?
  4. For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
  5. "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors, pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk, so that he can gaze on their naked bodies.
  1. 담의 돌들이 너를 향해 부르짖을 것이며 집의 들보가 응답할 것이다.
  2. 살인과 폭력으로 성을 건설하는 자에게 화가 있을 것이다.
  3. 민족들이 불탈 것을 위해 수고하며 나라들이 헛된 일로 힘을 소모하니 전능한 나 여호와가 정한 일이 아니냐?
  4. 바다가 물로 가득한 것처럼 세상이 나 여호와의 영광을 아는 지식으로 가득할 것이다.
  5. 자기 이웃에게 강제로 술을 먹이고 그를 취하게 하여 그 나체를 보려고 하는 자에게 화가 있을 것이다.
  1. You will be filled with shame instead of glory. Now it is your turn! Drink and be exposed ! The cup from the LORD's right hand is coming around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.
  2. The violence you have done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and your destruction of animals will terrify you. For you have shed man's blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.
  3. "Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies? For he who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
  4. Woe to him who says to wood, 'Come to life!' Or to lifeless stone, 'Wake up!' Can it give guidance? It is covered with gold and silver; there is no breath in it.
  5. But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him."
  1. 네가 영광 대신에 수치로 가득할 것이며 너도 마시고 비틀거리게 될 것이다. 나 여호와가 형벌의 잔을 너에게 마시게 하겠다. 치욕이 네 영광을 가릴 것이다.
  2. 네가 레바논의 숲을 잘랐으므로 이제 너도 잘릴 것이며 네가 짐승을 죽였으므로 이제 짐승이 너를 두렵게 할 것이다. 이것은 네가 수많은 사람을 죽이고 그들의 성과 땅을 파멸시켰기 때문이다.
  3. 우상은 사람이 새겨 만든 것인데 무슨 가치가 있겠느냐? 그것은 거짓 스승에 불과하다. 말 못하는 우상을 만든 자가 그것을 의지한들 무슨 유익이 있겠느냐?
  4. 나무 토막을 보고 '살아나라'고 말하거나 생명 없는 돌에게 '일어나라'고 말하는 자에게 화가 있을 것이다. 우상이 교훈을 줄 수 있겠느냐? 그것은 금과 은으로 입힌 것이므로 그 속에 생기가 없다.
  5. 그러나 나 여호와는 성전에 있다. 온 세상은 내 앞에서 잠잠하라.'

  2. LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
  3. God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.
  4. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.
  5. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps.
  1. 이것은 예언자 하박국의 기도이다.
  2. 여호와여, 내가 주께 대한 소문을 듣고 놀라움을 금할 수가 없습니다. 여호와여, 주께서 행하신 그 놀라운 일을 우리 시대에 다시 행하시고 분노 중에서도 자비를 베푸소서.
  3. 하나님이 에돔에서 오시며 거룩하신 분이 바란산에서 오신다. 그의 영광이 하늘을 덮었고 그의 찬양이 세상에 가득하구나.
  4. 그 광채가 햇빛 같아서 광선이 그의 손에서 나오니 거기에 그의 힘이 감추어져 있다.
  5. 무서운 질병이 그의 앞에서 행하고 열병이 그 뒤를 따른다.
  1. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed. His ways are eternal.
  2. I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish.
  3. Were you angry with the rivers, O LORD ? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode with your horses and your victorious chariots?
  4. You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows. Selah You split the earth with rivers;
  5. the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high.
  1. 그가 서시니 땅이 진동하고 그가 보시자 모든 나라가 떠는구나. 크고 작은 옛 산들이 부서지고 무너지니 그의 행하심은 예나 지금이나 다름이 없다.
  2. 내가 보니 구산 사람들이 고통을 당하고 미디안 사람들이 떨고 있구나.
  3. 여호와여, 주께서 말을 타시며 구원의 전차를 타시니 주를 분노하시게 한 것이 강입니까? 주를 노엽게 한 것이 바다입니까?
  4. 주께서 활을 꺼내 많은 화살을 날리시고 강으로 땅을 쪼개셨습니다.
  5. 산들이 주를 보고 떨며 하늘에서 폭우가 쏟아지고 바다가 소리를 지르며 물결이 높이 솟아오릅니다.
  1. Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear.
  2. In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations.
  3. You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. Selah
  4. With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding.
  5. You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters.
  1. 날아가는 주의 화살의 번득임과 번쩍이는 주의 창의 광채로 해와 달이 그 자리에 멈췄습니다.
  2. 주는 분노하셔서 온 세상을 다니시며 모든 나라를 밟으셨습니다.
  3. 주께서 주의 백성과 택한 왕을 구원하시려고 나오셔서 악인의 두목을 치시고 머리에서 발끝까지 그를 벗기셨습니다.
  4. 그들이 폭풍처럼 밀어닥쳐 우리를 흩어 버리고 몰래 가난한 자를 삼키는 자들처럼 기뻐하나 주께서 그 두목의 머리를 그의 창으로 찌르셨습니다.
  5. 주께서 말을 타시고 바다를 밟으시자 큰 물결이 일어났습니다.
  1. I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us.
  2. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
  3. yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
  4. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.
  1. 내가 이 모든 것을 들으니 심장이 두근거리고 입술이 떨리며 내 뼈가 썩는 것 같고 다리가 후들후들 떨리는구나. 그러나 내가 우리를 침략하는 나라에 환난이 임할 날을 기다리노라.
  2. 비록 무화과나무에 꽃이 피지 않고 포도나무에 포도가 없으며 감람나무에서 기름이 나지 않고 밭에서 농작물이 나지 않으며 우리에 양이 없고 외양간에 소가 없을지라도
  3. 여호와 하나님이 나의 구원이 되시므로 내가 기뻐하고 즐거워하리라.
  4. 주 여호와는 나의 힘이시니 나의 발을 사슴의 발과 같게 하셔서 나를 높은 곳에 다니게 하시리라. 이 노래는 성가대 지휘자에 따라 내 수금에 맞춘 것이다.
 
  위령(威令, 1:7)  원어의 뜻은 권위 또는 위엄인데, 여기서는 권위 있는 명령을 의미함
