열왕기상 5:1-6:38

 하나님의 섭리하심으로 솔로몬은 두로 왕 히람과 언약을 맺고 성전 건축에 필요한 자재와 기술자를 확보하였다. 그는 인력을 효과적으로 투입하여 7년 만에 성전을 완공하였다.
  
  성전 건축 준비(5:1-5:18)    
 
  1. When Hiram king of Tyre heard that Solomon had been anointed king to succeed his father David, he sent his envoys to Solomon, because he had always been on friendly terms with David.
  2. Solomon sent back this message to Hiram:
  3. "You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.
  4. But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.
  5. I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the LORD my God, as the LORD told my father David, when he said, 'Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name.'
  1. 두로의 히람 왕은 평소에 늘 다윗을 좋아하였는데, 솔로몬이 그의 아버지 다윗의 뒤를 이어 왕으로 기름 부음을 받았다는 소식을 듣고, 솔로몬에게 자기의 신하들을 보냈다.
  2. 그래서 솔로몬은 히람에게 사람을 보내어, 말을 전하였다.
  3. "임금님께서 아시다시피, 나의 아버지 다윗 임금은 주 하나님을 섬기면서도, 주님께서 원수들을 그의 발바닥으로 짓밟을 수 있게 하여 주실 때까지 전쟁을 해야 했으므로, 자기의 하나님이신 주님의 이름을 찬양할 성전을 짓지 못하였습니다.
  4. 그런데 이제는 주 나의 하나님께서 내가 다스리는 지역 온 사방에 안정을 주셔서, 아무런 적대자도 없고, 불상사가 일어날 일도 없습니다.
  5. 이제 나는 주님께서 나의 아버지 다윗 임금에게 '내가 네 왕위에 너를 대신하여 오르게 할 네 아들이, 내 이름을 기릴 성전을 지을 것이다' 하고 말씀하신 대로, 주 나의 하나님의 이름을 기릴 성전을 지으려고 합니다.
  1. "So give orders that cedars of Lebanon be cut for me. My men will work with yours, and I will pay you for your men whatever wages you set. You know that we have no one so skilled in felling timber as the Sidonians."
  2. When Hiram heard Solomon's message, he was greatly pleased and said, "Praise be to the LORD today, for he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation."
  3. So Hiram sent word to Solomon: "I have received the message you sent me and will do all you want in providing the cedar and pine logs.
  4. My men will haul them down from Lebanon to the sea, and I will float them in rafts by sea to the place you specify. There I will separate them and you can take them away. And you are to grant my wish by providing food for my royal household."
  5. In this way Hiram kept Solomon supplied with all the cedar and pine logs he wanted,
  1. 그러므로 이제 명령을 내리셔서, 성전 건축에 쓸 레바논의 백향목을 베어서 주시기 바랍니다. 나의 종들이 임금님의 종들과 함께 일을 할 것이고, 임금님의 종들에게 줄 품삯은, 임금님께서 정하시는 대로 지불하겠습니다. 임금님께서도 잘 아시다시피, 우리쪽에는 시돈 사람처럼 벌목에 능숙한 사람이 없습니다."
  2. 히람이 솔로몬의 말을 전하여 듣고, 크게 기뻐하면서, 이렇게 말하였다. "오늘 다윗에게 이 큰 백성을 다스릴 지혜로운 아들을 주신 주님께 찬양을 드리자."
  3. 그리고 히람은 솔로몬에게 회신을 보내어서, 이렇게 말하였다. "임금님께서 나에게 보내 주신 전갈은 잘 들었습니다. 백향목뿐만 아니라, 잣나무도 원하시는 대로 드리겠습니다.
  4. 나의 종들이 레바논에서부터 바다에까지 나무를 운반하고, 바다에 뗏목으로 띄워서, 임금님께서 나에게 말씀하신 곳까지 보내고, 그 곳에서 그 나무를 풀어 놓을 것입니다. 그러면 임금님께서는 끌어올리기만 하시면 됩니다. 그리고 그 값으로 내가 바라는 것은, 나의 왕실에서 쓸 먹거리를 제공하여 주시는 것입니다."
  5. 이렇게 하여서, 히람은 백향목 재목과 잣나무 재목을 솔로몬이 원하는 대로 다 보내 주었다.
  1. and Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat as food for his household, in addition to twenty thousand baths , of pressed olive oil. Solomon continued to do this for Hiram year after year.
  2. The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, just as he had promised him. There were peaceful relations between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty.
  3. King Solomon conscripted laborers from all Israel--thirty thousand men.
  4. He sent them off to Lebanon in shifts of ten thousand a month, so that they spent one month in Lebanon and two months at home. Adoniram was in charge of the forced labor.
  5. Solomon had seventy thousand carriers and eighty thousand stonecutters in the hills,
  1. 솔로몬은 히람에게, 왕실에서 쓸 먹거리로, 밀 이만 섬과 짜낸 기름 스무 섬을 보내 주었다. 솔로몬은 해마다 히람에게 이렇게 하였다.
  2. 주님께서는, 약속하신 그 말씀대로, 솔로몬에게 지혜를 주셔서, 히람과 솔로몬 사이에는 평화가 있었다. 그리고 그 둘은 조약도 맺었다.
  3. 솔로몬 왕은 이스라엘 전국에서 노무자를 불러 모았는데, 그 수는 삼만 명이나 되었다.
  4. 그는 그들을 한 달에 만 명씩 번갈아 레바논으로 보내어, 한 달은 레바논에서 일을 하게 하고, 두 달은 본국에서 일을 하게 하였다. 노역부의 책임자는 아도니람이었다.

  1. as well as thirty-three hundred foremen who supervised the project and directed the workmen.
  2. At the king's command they removed from the quarry large blocks of quality stone to provide a foundation of dressed stone for the temple.
  3. The craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram and the men of Gebal cut and prepared the timber and stone for the building of the temple.
  1. 그 밖에 작업을 감독하는 솔로몬의 관리 가운데는 책임자만 해도 삼천삼백 명이 있었다. 그들은 공사장에서 노동하는 사람을 통솔하였다.
  2. 왕은 명령을 내려서, 다듬은 돌로 성전의 기초를 놓으려고, 크고 값진 돌을 채석하게 하였다.
  3. 그리하여 솔로몬의 건축자들과 히람의 건축자들과 그발 사람들은 돌을 다듬었고, 성전을 건축하는 데 쓸 목재와 석재를 준비하였다.
 
  성전 건축(6:1-6:38)    
 
  1. In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites had come out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the temple of the LORD.
  2. The temple that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty wide and thirty high.
  3. The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits, and projected ten cubits from the front of the temple.
  4. He made narrow clerestory windows in the temple.
  5. Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms.
  1. 이스라엘 자손이 이집트 땅에서 나온 지 사백팔십 년, 솔로몬이 이스라엘의 왕이 된 지 사 년째 되는 해 시브월 곧 둘째 달에, 솔로몬은 주님의 성전을 짓기 시작하였다.
  2. 솔로몬 왕이 주님께 지어 바친 성전은, 길이가 예순 자이고, 너비가 스무 자이고, 높이가 서른 자이다.
  3. 성전의 본당 앞에 있는 현관은, 그 길이가 스무 자로서, 그 본당의 너비와 똑같고, 그 너비는 성전 본당 밖으로 열 자를 더 달아냈다.
  4. 그리고 그는 성전 벽에다가 붙박이창을 만들었는데, 바깥쪽을 안쪽보다 좁게 만들었다.
  5. 그리고 그 사방에 골방을 만들었다. 성전의 벽 곧 본당 양 옆과 뒤로는, 쭉 돌아가면서 삼층으로 다락을 만들었다.
  1. The lowest floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits and the third floor seven. He made offset ledges around the outside of the temple so that nothing would be inserted into the temple walls.
  2. In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.
  3. The entrance to the lowest floor was on the south side of the temple; a stairway led up to the middle level and from there to the third.
  4. So he built the temple and completed it, roofing it with beams and cedar planks.
  5. And he built the side rooms all along the temple. The height of each was five cubits, and they were attached to the temple by beams of cedar.
  1. 아래층에 있는 다락은 그 너비가 다섯 자이고, 가운데 층에 있는 다락은 그 너비가 여섯 자이고, 삼 층에 있는 다락은 그 너비가 일곱 자이다. 이것은 성전 바깥으로 돌아가면서 턱을 내어서, 골방의 서까래가 성전의 벽에 박히지 않게 하였다.

  4. 이렇게 해서 그는 성전 짓기를 완성하였다. 성전의 천장은 백향목 서까래와 널빤지로 덮었다.
  5. 또한 성전 전체에다가 돌아가면서 높이가 저마다 다섯 자씩 되는 다락을 지었는데, 백향목 들보로 성전에 연결하였다.
  1. The word of the LORD came to Solomon:
  2. "As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, carry out my regulations and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father.
  3. And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel."
  4. So Solomon built the temple and completed it.
  5. He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of pine.
  1. 주님께서 솔로몬에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "드디어 네가 성전을 짓기 시작하였구나. 네가 내 법도와 율례를 따르고, 또 나의 계명에 순종하여, 그대로 그것을 지키면, 내가 네 아버지 다윗에게 약속한 바를 네게서 이루겠다.
  3. 또한 나는 이스라엘 자손과 더불어, 그들 가운데서 함께 살겠고, 내 백성 이스라엘을 결코 버리지 않겠다."
  4. 솔로몬이 성전 짓기를 마쳤다.
  5. 성전의 안쪽 벽에는 바닥에서 천장에 닿기까지 벽 전체에 백향목 널빤지를 입히고, 성전의 바닥에는 잣나무 널빤지를 깔았다.
  1. He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
  2. The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.
  3. The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen.
  4. He prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.
  5. The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty wide and twenty high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.
  1. 성전 뒤쪽에서 앞쪽으로 스무 자를 재어서, 바닥에서부터 천장의 서까래에 이르기까지 백향목 널빤지로 가로막아서, 성전의 내실 곧 지성소를 만들었다.
  2. 내실 앞에 있는 성전의 외실은, 그 길이가 마흔 자였다.
  3. 성전 안쪽 벽에 입힌 백향목에는, 호리병 모양 박과 활짝 핀 꽃 모양을 새겼는데, 전체가 백향목이라서, 석재는 하나도 보이지 않았다.
  4. 성전 안에는, 주님의 언약궤를 놓아 둘 내실을 마련하였다.
  5. 성전의 내실 곧 지성소는 길이가 스무 자, 너비가 스무 자, 높이가 스무 자이고, 순금으로 입혔으며, 백향목 제단에도 순금으로 입혔다.
  1. Solomon covered the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.
  2. So he overlaid the whole interior with gold. He also overlaid with gold the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
  3. In the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
  4. One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing five cubits--ten cubits from wing tip to wing tip.
  5. The second cherub also measured ten cubits, for the two cherubim were identical in size and shape.
  1. 솔로몬은 성전 내부도 순금으로 입히고, 지성소 앞에는 금사슬을 드리웠으며, 그 지성소를 모두 금으로 입혔다.
  2. 그래서 그는 온 성전을, 빠진 곳이 전혀 없도록, 금으로 입혔다. 심지어는 성소에 속하여 있는 제단들까지도, 모두 금으로 입혔다.
  3. 그는 지성소 안에 올리브 나무로 두 개의 그룹을 만들었는데, 높이는 각각 열 자이다.
  4. 그 한 그룹의 한쪽 날개는 다섯 자, 그룹의 다른 쪽 날개 역시 다섯 자이다. 그 날개의 한쪽 끝으로부터 다른 쪽 날개의 끝까지는 열 자이다.
  5. 두 번째 그룹도 열 자이며, 두 그룹이 같은 치수와 같은 모양이었다.
  1. The height of each cherub was ten cubits.
  2. He placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple, with their wings spread out. The wing of one cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the other touched the other wall, and their wings touched each other in the middle of the room.
  3. He overlaid the cherubim with gold.
  4. On the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer rooms, he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers.
  5. He also covered the floors of both the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold.
  1. 이쪽 그룹의 높이도 열 자이고, 저쪽 것도 열 자이다.
  2. 솔로몬은 그 그룹들을 지성소의 가장 깊숙한 곳에 놓았다. 그룹들의 날개는 펴져 있어서, 이쪽 그룹의 한 날개가 저쪽 벽에 닿았고, 저쪽 그룹의 한 날개는 이쪽 벽에 닿았다. 그리고 지성소의 중앙에서 그들의 다른 날개들은 서로 닿아 있었다.
  3. 그는 이 그룹에도 금으로 입혔다.
  4. 그는 성전의 지성소와 외실의 벽으로 돌아가면서, 그룹의 형상과 종려나무와 활짝 핀 꽃 모양을 새겼다.
  5. 또 그 성전의 지성소와 외실 마루에도 금으로 입혔다.
  1. For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood with five-sided jambs.
  2. And on the two olive wood doors he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with beaten gold.
  3. In the same way he made four-sided jambs of olive wood for the entrance to the main hall.
  4. He also made two pine doors, each having two leaves that turned in sockets.
  5. He carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers on them and overlaid them with gold hammered evenly over the carvings.
  1. 지성소 어귀에는 올리브 나무로 문을 두 짝 만들고, 그 인방과 문설주는 오각형으로 만들었다.
  2. 그리고 올리브 나무로 만든 문 두 짝에는, 그룹의 형상과 종려나무와 활짝 핀 꽃 모양을 새겼는데, 그룹 모양과 종려나무 모양 위에도 금으로 입혔다.
  3. 또 올리브 나무로 본당의 외실 어귀를 만들었는데, 그 문설주는 사각형으로 만들었다.
  4. 그리고 잣나무로 만든 두 개의 문이 있는데, 한 쪽의 문도 두 부분으로 접히고, 다른 문도 두 부분으로 접히게 되어 있었다.
  5. 그 위에 그룹들과 종려나무와 활짝 핀 꽃 모양을 새겼는데, 그 위에 고루고루 금을 입혔다.
  1. And he built the inner courtyard of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams.
  2. The foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid in the fourth year, in the month of Ziv.
  3. In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.
  1. 또 성전 앞에다가 안뜰을 만들었는데, 안뜰 벽은 잘 다듬은 돌 세 켜와 두꺼운 백향목 판자 한 켜로 벽을 쳤다.
  2. 주님의 성전 기초를 놓은 것은 솔로몬의 통치 제 사년 시브월이고,
  3. 성전이 그 세밀한 부분까지 설계한 대로 완공된 것은 제 십일년 불월 곧 여덟째 달이다. 솔로몬이 성전을 건축하는 데는 일곱 해가 걸렸다.
 
  동독(董督, 5:16)  일을 감시하고 재촉함
