	에스라 7:1-8:20 아닥사스다 왕은 조서를 내려 율법 학사 겸 제사장인 에스라와 그의 백성들을 바벨론에서 예루살렘으로 귀환시켰다. 이는 에스라를 중심으로 한 제2차 귀환이었다. 에스라와 함께 귀환한 명단이 유명 가문별 족보로 기록되었다.

	에스라의 귀환(7:1-7:28)

After these things, during the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,

the son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,

the son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,

the son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,

the son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest-

これらの事があって後，ペルシアの王アルタクセルクセスの治世に，エズラの祖先は，父がセラヤ，祖父がアザルヤ，更にヒルキヤ，

シャルム，ツァドク，アヒトブ，

アマルヤ，アザルヤ，メラヨト，

ゼラフヤ，ウジ，ブキ，

アビシュア，ピネハス，エルアザル，そして祭司長アロンとさかのぼる．

this Ezra came up from Babylon. He was a teacher well versed in the Law of Moses, which the LORD, the God of Israel, had given. The king had granted him everything he asked, for the hand of the LORD his God was on him.

Some of the Israelites, including priests, Levites, singers, gatekeepers and temple servants, also came up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes.

Ezra arrived in Jerusalem in the fifth month of the seventh year of the king.

He had begun his journey from Babylon on the first day of the first month, and he arrived in Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month, for the gracious hand of his God was on him.

For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.

エズラがバビロンから上って來た．エズラは，イスラエルの神なる主が授けられたモ ― セの律法に詳しい書記官であり，その神なる主の御手の加護を受けて，求めるものをすべて王から與えられていた．

アルタクセルクセス王の第七年に，イスラエルの人¿，祭司，レビ人，詠唱者，門衛，神殿の使用人から成る一團がエルサレムに上り，

同王の第七年の第五の月にエルサレムに到着した．

彼らは第一の月の一日をバビロン出發の日とし，神の慈しみ深い御手の加護を受けて，第五の月の一日にエルサレムに到着した．

This is a copy of the letter King Artaxerxes had given to Ezra the priest and teacher, a man learned in matters concerning the commands and decrees of the LORD for Israel:

Artaxerxes, king of kings, To Ezra the priest, a teacher of the Law of the God of heaven: Greetings.

Now I decree that any of the Israelites in my kingdom, including priests and Levites, who wish to go to Jerusalem with you, may go.

You are sent by the king and his seven advisers to inquire about Judah and Jerusalem with regard to the Law of your God, which is in your hand.

Moreover, you are to take with you the silver and gold that the king and his advisers have freely given to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem,

イスラエルに對する主の戒めと ¿の言葉に精通した，祭司であり書記官であるエズラに，アルタクセルクセス王は親書を送った．以下はその寫しである．

「諸王の王であるアルタクセルクセスは，天にいます神の律法の書記官，祭司エズラに心からの ¿¿を送る．

さて，ここにわたしの命令を明記する．わが國にいるイスラエルの人¿，祭司，レビ人でエルサレムに行くことを望む者はだれでも，あなたと共に行ってよい．

わたしは七人の顧問官と共にあなたに次の使命を託す．すなわちあなたにゆだねられた神の律法に從って，ユダとエルサレムの事情を調べること，

エルサレムに住まいを定められたイスラエルの神に，わたしと顧問官が寄進する金銀を持って行くこと，

together with all the silver and gold you may obtain from the province of Babylon, as well as the freewill offerings of the people and priests for the temple of their God in Jerusalem.

With this money be sure to buy bulls, rams and male lambs, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings, and sacrifice them on the altar of the temple of your God in Jerusalem.

You and your brother Jews may then do whatever seems best with the rest of the silver and gold, in accordance with the will of your God.

Deliver to the God of Jerusalem all the articles entrusted to you for worship in the temple of your God.

And anything else needed for the temple of your God that you may have occasion to supply, you may provide from the royal treasury.

またバビロニアの州の至るところであなたが得るすべての金銀を，民と祭司がエルサレムにある彼らの神殿に寄進する獻げ物と共に持って行くことである．

それゆえ，あなたはその銀を持って雄牛，雄羊，小羊，および穀物とぶどう酒の獻げ物を丹念に買い集め，エルサレムにあるあなたたちの神の神殿の祭壇にささげよ．

そのほかあなたとあなたの仲間が適切と思うことがあれば，殘りの金銀を神の御旨に從って用いてよい．

あなたの神の神殿の儀式のためにあなたに託す祭具類も，エルサレムの神の御前に納めよ．

その他，神殿に必要なもので費用がかさむなら，それも國庫負擔としてよい．

Now I, King Artaxerxes, order all the treasurers of Trans-Euphrates to provide with diligence whatever Ezra the priest, a teacher of the Law of the God of heaven, may ask of you-

up to a hundred talents of silver, a hundred cors of wheat, a hundred baths of wine, a hundred baths of olive oil, and salt without limit.

Whatever the God of heaven has prescribed, let it be done with diligence for the temple of the God of heaven. Why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and of his sons?

You are also to know that you have no authority to impose taxes, tribute or duty on any of the priests, Levites, singers, gatekeepers, temple servants or other workers at this house of God.

And you, Ezra, in accordance with the wisdom of your God, which you possess, appoint magistrates and judges to administer justice to all the people of Trans-Euphrates--all who know the laws of your God. And you are to teach any who do not know them.

天にいます神の律法の書記官，祭司エズラの要求には，すべて怠りなくこたえるように，このアルタクセルクセス王がユ ― フラテス西方の全財務官に命令しておく．

銀は百キカルまで，小麥は百コルまで，ぶどう酒は百バトまで，油は百バトまで，鹽は制限なく與えられる．

王とその子孫の國に怒りが下らないように，天にいます神の命令であれば，天にいます神の神殿のために，すべてを滯りなく實行しなければならない．

また祭司，レビ人，詠唱者，門衛，神殿の使用人など總じて神殿に仕える者に，年貢，關稅，交通稅を課す權限が，だれにもないことをあなたたちに知らせておく．

エズラよ，ゆだねられた神の知惠によってあなたは治める者と裁く者を任命して，ユ ― フラテス西方のすべての民，あなたの神の律法を知るすべての者を治めさせ，律法を知らない者にはあなたたちは敎えを授けよ．

Whoever does not obey the law of your God and the law of the king must surely be punished by death, banishment, confiscation of property, or imprisonment.

Praise be to the LORD, the God of our fathers, who has put it into the king's heart to bring honor to the house of the LORD in Jerusalem in this way

and who has extended his good favor to me before the king and his advisers and all the king's powerful officials. Because the hand of the LORD my God was on me, I took courage and gathered leading men from Israel to go up with me.

あなたの神の律法と王の法律に從わない者は，すべてこれを嚴しく裁き，死刑または流刑，財産¿收，または投獄によって處罰しなければならない．」

わたしたちの先祖の神，主はほめたたえられますように．主は，このようにエルサレムの神殿を榮えあるものとする心を王にお與えになり，

わたしには王とその參議官，そのすべての優れた高官の好意を受けるようにしてくださった．わたしは，わが神なる主の御手の加護によって勇氣を得，イスラエルの中でわたしと共に上って行こうとする頭たちを集めた．

	에스라와 동행한 자들(8:1-8:20)

These are the family heads and those registered with them who came up with me from Babylon during the reign of King Artaxerxes:

of the descendants of Phinehas, Gershom; of the descendants of Ithamar, Daniel; of the descendants of David, Hattush

of the descendants of Shecaniah; of the descendants of Parosh, Zechariah, and with him were registered 150 men;

of the descendants of Pahath-Moab, Eliehoenai son of Zerahiah, and with him 200 men;

of the descendants of Zattu, Shecaniah son of Jahaziel, and with him 300 men;

アルタクセルクセス王の治世に，わたしと共にバビロンから上って來た家長と，その家系は次のとおりである．

ピネハスの一族からゲルショム，イタマルの一族からダニエル，ダビデの一族からハトシュ，

シェカンヤの一族の者，パルオシュの一族から，ゼカルヤと，彼と共に家系に從って記錄された男百五十人．

パハト · モアブの一族から，ゼラフヤの子エルヨエナイと男二百人．

ザトの一族から，ヤハジエルの子シェカンヤと男三百人．

of the descendants of Adin, Ebed son of Jonathan, and with him 50 men;

of the descendants of Elam, Jeshaiah son of Athaliah, and with him 70 men;

of the descendants of Shephatiah, Zebadiah son of Michael, and with him 80 men;

of the descendants of Joab, Obadiah son of Jehiel, and with him 218 men;

of the descendants of Bani, Shelomith son of Josiphiah, and with him 160 men;

アディンの一族から，ヨナタンの子エベドと男五十人．

エラムの一族から，アタルヤの子エシャヤと男七十人．

シェファトヤの一族から，ミカエルの子ゼバドヤと男八十人．

ヨアブの一族から，エヒエルの子オバドヤと男二百十八人．

バニの一族から，ヨシフヤの子シェロミトと男百六十人．

of the descendants of Bebai, Zechariah son of Bebai, and with him 28 men;

of the descendants of Azgad, Johanan son of Hakkatan, and with him 110 men;

of the descendants of Adonikam, the last ones, whose names were Eliphelet, Jeuel and Shemaiah, and with them 60 men;

of the descendants of Bigvai, Uthai and Zaccur, and with them 70 men.

I assembled them at the canal that flows toward Ahava, and we camped there three days. When I checked among the people and the priests, I found no Levites there.

ベバイの一族から，ベバイの子ゼカルヤと男二十八人．

アズガドの一族から，ハカタンの子ヨハナンと男百十人．

アドニカムの一族から，その最後の者たちで，名をエリフェレト，エイエル，シェマヤという者と男六十人．

So I summoned Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah and Meshullam, who were leaders, and Joiarib and Elnathan, who were men of learning,

and I sent them to Iddo, the leader in Casiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his kinsmen, the temple servants in Casiphia, so that they might bring attendants to us for the house of our God.

Because the gracious hand of our God was on us, they brought us Sherebiah, a capable man, from the descendants of Mahli son of Levi, the son of Israel, and Sherebiah's sons and brothers, 18 men;

and Hashabiah, together with Jeshaiah from the descendants of Merari, and his brothers and nephews, 20 men.

They also brought 220 of the temple servants--a body that David and the officials had established to assist the Levites. All were registered by name.

そこでわたしは頭たちエリエゼル，アリエル，シェマヤ，エルナタン，ヤリブ，エルナタン，ナタン，ゼカルヤ，メシュラム，敎官ヨヤリブとエルナタンを遣わし，

カシフヤという所の頭イドのもとに行かせた．そしてカシフヤという所の神殿の使用人である彼とその兄弟たちに，わたしたちの神の神殿に仕える者をよこしてほしいと傳えさせた．

慈しみ深い神の御手がわたしたちを助けてくださり，彼らはイスラエルの子レビの子であるマフリの一族のシェレブヤという有能な人物を，その子らと兄弟十八人と共に連れて來た．

更に，メラリの一族からハシャブヤとその兄弟エシャヤ，および彼らの子ら二十人，

また，レビ人に奉仕するようにダビデと高官たちが定めた神殿の使用人の中からも，二百二十人の使用人を連れて來た．皆一人一人その名が記錄されている．
