예레미야 39:1-41:18

 예루살렘이 함락되고 시드기야 왕과 백성들은 바벨론으로 잡혀 갔다. 그러나 예레미야를 구해 주었던 아벳멜렉은 이 와중에 하나님의 구원을 약속받았다. 포로에서 풀려 난 예레미야와 유다 땅에 남아 있던 빈민들은 바벨론 왕이 세운 총독 그다랴와 함께 거했다. 왕족인 이스마엘이 그다랴와 백성 칠십 인을 죽이고 암몬 족속에게 가자, 요하난 일행은 바벨론의 보복을 두려워하여 애굽으로 가려고 했다.
  
  예루살렘 함락(39:1-39:18)    
 
  1. This is how Jerusalem was taken: In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege to it.
  2. And on the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah's eleventh year, the city wall was broken through.
  3. Then all the officials of the king of Babylon came and took seats in the Middle Gate: Nergal-Sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-Sarsekim a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officials of the king of Babylon.
  4. When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled; they left the city at night by way of the king's garden, through the gate between the two walls, and headed toward the Arabah.
  5. But the Babylonian army pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. They captured him and took him to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he pronounced sentence on him.
  1. ユダ の 王 ゼデキヤ の 第九年十月に， バビロン の 王 ネブカドレツァル は 全軍を 率いて エルサレム に 到着し， これを 包圍した．
  2. ゼデキヤ の 第十一年四月九日になって， 都の 一角が 破られた．

  1. There at Riblah the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes and also killed all the nobles of Judah.
  2. Then he put out Zedekiah's eyes and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.
  3. The Babylonians set fire to the royal palace and the houses of the people and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
  4. Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard carried into exile to Babylon the people who remained in the city, along with those who had gone over to him, and the rest of the people.
  5. But Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people, who owned nothing; and at that time he gave them vineyards and fields.
  1. リブラ で バビロン の 王は， ゼデキヤ の 目の 前でその 王子たちを 殺した． バビロン の 王は ユダ の 貴族たちもすべて 殺した．
  2. その 上で， バビロン の 王は ゼデキヤ の 兩眼をつぶし， 靑銅の 足枷をはめ， 彼を バビロン に 連れて 行った．

  1. Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given these orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard:
  2. "Take him and look after him; don't harm him but do for him whatever he asks."
  3. So Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard, Nebushazban a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officers of the king of Babylon
  4. sent and had Jeremiah taken out of the courtyard of the guard. They turned him over to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him back to his home. So he remained among his own people.
  5. While Jeremiah had been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him:
  1. バビロン の 王 ネブカドレツァル は エレミヤ に 關して， 親衛隊の 長 ネブザルアダン に 命令を 下した．
  2. 「彼を 連れ 出し， よく 世話をするように． いかなる 害も 加えてはならない． 彼が 求めることは， 何でもかなえてやるように． 」
  3. そこで， 親衛隊の 長 ネブザルアダン は 侍從長 ネブシャズバン ， 指揮官 ネレガル · サル · エツェル はじめ， バビロン の 王の 長官たちを 遣わし，

  1. "Go and tell Ebed-Melech the Cushite, 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I am about to fulfill my words against this city through disaster, not prosperity. At that time they will be fulfilled before your eyes.
  2. But I will rescue you on that day, declares the LORD; you will not be handed over to those you fear.
  3. I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the LORD.' "
  1. 「クシュ 人 エベド · メレク のもとに 赴いて 告げよ． イスラエル の 神， 万軍の 主はこう 言われる． 見よ， わたしはこの 都について 告げたわたしの 言葉を 實現させる． それは 災いであって， 幸いではない． その 日には， あなたの 見ている 前でこれらのことが 起こる．
  2. しかし， その 日に， わたしはあなたを 救い 出す， と 主は 言われる． あなたが 恐れている 人¿の 手に 渡されることはない．

  1. The word came to Jeremiah from the LORD after Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard had released him at Ramah. He had found Jeremiah bound in chains among all the captives from Jerusalem and Judah who were being carried into exile to Babylon.
  2. When the commander of the guard found Jeremiah, he said to him, "The LORD your God decreed this disaster for this place.
  3. And now the LORD has brought it about; he has done just as he said he would. All this happened because you people sinned against the LORD and did not obey him.
  4. But today I am freeing you from the chains on your wrists. Come with me to Babylon, if you like, and I will look after you; but if you do not want to, then don't come. Look, the whole country lies before you; go wherever you please."
  5. However, before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan added, "Go back to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the towns of Judah, and live with him among the people, or go anywhere else you please." Then the commander gave him provisions and a present and let him go.
  1. 主から 言葉が エレミヤ に 臨んだ． それは， 親衛隊の 長 ネブザルアダン が， バビロン へ 捕囚として 移送される エルサレム と ユダ のすべての 人¿と 共に， エレミヤ を 捕虜として 鎖につないで 連行したが， ラマ で 釋放することにした 後のことである．
  2. 親衛隊の 長は エレミヤ を 連れて 來させて 言った． 「主なるあなたの 神は， この 場所にこの 災いをくだすと 告げておられたが，
  3. そのとおりに 災いをくだし， 實行された． それはあなたたちが 主に 對して 罪を 犯し， その 聲に 聞き 從わなかったからである． だから， このことがあなたたちに 起こったのだ．
  4. さあ， 今日わたしはあなたの 手の 鎖を 解く． もし， あなたがわたしと 共に バビロン に 來るのが 良いと 思うならば， 來るがよい． あなたの 面倒を 見よう． 一緖に 來るのが 良くなければ， やめるがよい． 目の 前に 廣がっているこのすべての 土地を 見て， あなたが 良しと 思い， 正しいとするところへ 行くがよい．
  5. ―― エレミヤ はまだ 民のもとに 戾っていなかった ―― シャファン の 孫で アヒカム の 子である ゲダルヤ のもとに 戾り， 彼と 共に 民の 間に 住むがよい． 彼は， バビロン の 王が ユダ の 町¿の 監督をゆだねた 者である． さもなければ， あなたが 正しいとするところへ 行くがよい． 」親衛隊の 長は エレミヤ に 食料の 割り 當てを 與えて 釋放した．
  1. So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah and stayed with him among the people who were left behind in the land.
  1. こうして エレミヤ は， ミツパ にいる アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ のもとに 身を 寄せ， 國に 殘った 人¿と 共にとどまることになった．
 
  살해당한 그다랴 총독(40:7-41:18)    
 
  1. When all the army officers and their men who were still in the open country heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam as governor over the land and had put him in charge of the men, women and children who were the poorest in the land and who had not been carried into exile to Babylon,
  2. they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah--Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of the Maacathite, and their men.
  3. Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to reassure them and their men. "Do not be afraid to serve the Babylonians, " he said. "Settle down in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will go well with you.
  4. I myself will stay at Mizpah to represent you before the Babylonians who come to us, but you are to harvest the wine, summer fruit and oil, and put them in your storage jars, and live in the towns you have taken over."
  5. When all the Jews in Moab, Ammon, Edom and all the other countries heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant in Judah and had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, as governor over them,
  1. 野にいたすべての 軍の 長たちはその 部下と 共に， バビロン の 王が アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ をその 地に 立てて 總督とし， バビロン に 移送されなかったその 土地の 貧しい 人¿に 屬する 男， 女， 子供たちを 彼のもとにゆだねたことを 聞き，
  2. ミツパ にいる ゲダルヤ のもとに 集って 來た． それは ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル ， カレア の 二人の 子 ヨハナン と ヨナタン ， および タンフメト の 子 セラヤ ， ネトファ 人 エファイ の 一族， マアカ 人の 子である エザンヤ とその 部下たちであった．
  3. シャファン の 孫で アヒカム の 子である ゲダルヤ は， 彼らとその 部下たちに 誓って 言った． 「カルデア 人に 仕えることを 恐れてはならない． この 地にとどまり， バビロン の 王に 仕えなさい． あなたたちは 幸せになる．

  5. モアブ ， アンモン ， エドム ， その 他の 國¿にいた ユダヤ 人たちも 皆， バビロン の 王が， ユダ に 殘留者を 認め， シャファン の 孫で アヒカム の 子である ゲダルヤ に， 彼らの 監督をゆだねたことを 聞いた．
  1. they all came back to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah at Mizpah, from all the countries where they had been scattered. And they harvested an abundance of wine and summer fruit.
  2. Johanan son of Kareah and all the army officers still in the open country came to Gedaliah at Mizpah
  3. and said to him, "Don't you know that Baalis king of the Ammonites has sent Ishmael son of Nethaniah to take your life?" But Gedaliah son of Ahikam did not believe them.
  4. Then Johanan son of Kareah said privately to Gedaliah in Mizpah, "Let me go and kill Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and no one will know it. Why should he take your life and cause all the Jews who are gathered around you to be scattered and the remnant of Judah to perish?"
  5. But Gedaliah son of Ahikam said to Johanan son of Kareah, "Don't do such a thing! What you are saying about Ishmael is not true."
  1. そこで， ユダ の 人¿は 皆， それぞれの 避難先から 引き 揚げて， ユダ の 地に 戾り， ミツパ の ゲダルヤ のもとに 來た． 彼らは， ぶどう 酒と 夏の 果物を 多く 集めた．
  2. ときに， カレア の 子 ヨハナン と， 野にいた 軍の 長たちがそろって ミツパ にいる ゲダルヤ のもとに 來て，
  3. 言った． 「アンモン の 王 バアリス が， あなたを 暗殺しようとして， ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル を 送り ¿んでいるのをご 存じでしょうか． 」しかし， アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ は 彼らの 言うことを 信じなかった．
  4. カレア の 子 ヨハナン は ミツパ で 極秘に ゲダルヤ に 進言した． 「あなたが 暗殺され， ここに 集まって 來た ユダ の 人¿が， またちりぢりになり， ユダ の 殘留者が 滅びてしまってもよいのですか． わたしが 行って， だれにも 知られないように ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル を 殺して 來ます． 」
  5. だが， アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ は カレア の 子 ヨハナン に 言った． 「そのようなことをしてはならない． イシュマエル についてあなたの 言うことは 誤りだ． 」
 
 
  1. In the seventh month Ishmael son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, who was of royal blood and had been one of the king's officers, came with ten men to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah. While they were eating together there,
  2. Ishmael son of Nethaniah and the ten men who were with him got up and struck down Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, with the sword, killing the one whom the king of Babylon had appointed as governor over the land.
  3. Ishmael also killed all the Jews who were with Gedaliah at Mizpah, as well as the Babylonian soldiers who were there.
  4. The day after Gedaliah's assassination, before anyone knew about it,
  5. eighty men who had shaved off their beards, torn their clothes and cut themselves came from Shechem, Shiloh and Samaria, bringing grain offerings and incense with them to the house of the LORD.
  1. ところが 七月に， 王族の 一人で， 王の 高官でもあった， エリシャマ の 孫で ネタンヤ の 子である イシュマエル が， 十人の 部下を 率いて ミツパ に 赴き， アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ を 訪ね， ミツパ で 食事を 共にした．
  2. そのとき， ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル と， 彼と 共にいた 十人の 部下は， 突然襲いかかって， バビロン の 王がその 地に 立てて 總督とした シャファン の 孫で アヒカム の 子である ゲダルヤ を 劍にかけて 殺した．
  3. また イシュマエル は， ゲダルヤ と 共に ミツパ にいた ユダ のすべての 人¿と， そこに 占領軍として 駐留していた カルデア 人を 打ち 殺した．
  4. ゲダルヤ 暗殺の 翌日， まだだれにも 知られないうちに，
  5. シケム ， シロ ， サマリア から 來た 八十人の 一行が， ひげをそり， 衣服を 裂き， 身を 傷つけた 姿で 通りかかった． 彼らは， 主の 神殿にささげる 供え 物と 香を 携えていた．
  1. Ishmael son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went. When he met them, he said, "Come to Gedaliah son of Ahikam."
  2. When they went into the city, Ishmael son of Nethaniah and the men who were with him slaughtered them and threw them into a cistern.
  3. But ten of them said to Ishmael, "Don't kill us! We have wheat and barley, oil and honey, hidden in a field." So he let them alone and did not kill them with the others.
  4. Now the cistern where he threw all the bodies of the men he had killed along with Gedaliah was the one King Asa had made as part of his defense against Baasha king of Israel. Ishmael son of Nethaniah filled it with the dead.
  5. Ishmael made captives of all the rest of the people who were in Mizpah--the king's daughters along with all the others who were left there, over whom Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam. Ishmael son of Nethaniah took them captive and set out to cross over to the Ammonites.
  1. ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル が ミツパ から 出て 彼らを 迎えた． 彼は 泣きながら 步いて 行き， 彼らに 會うと， 「アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ のもとへおいでください 」と 言った．
  2. 一行が 町の 中に 入ると， ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル は， 家來たちと 共に 彼らを 殺し， 穴の 中にほうり ¿んだ．
  3. しかし， 一行の 中にいた 十人の 者は， 「我¿を 殺さないでください． 小麥， 大麥， 油， 蜜など 貴重なものを 畑に 隱していますから 」と イシュマエル に 哀願したので， この 十人だけは 殺さずにおいた．
  4. イシュマエル が， ゲダルヤ の 名を 使って 殺したすべての 人¿の 死骸を 投げ ¿んだ 穴は， アサ 王が イスラエル の 王 バシャ の 攻擊に 備えて 掘ったものであった． それを ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル は 死體で 滿たした．
  5. イシュマエル は， 王の 娘たちをも 含めて， ミツパ にいた 民の 殘留者すべて， すなわち， 親衛隊の 長 ネブザルアダン が アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ の 監督のもとにおき， ミツパ に 殘っていた 民をすべて 捕虜とした． ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル は 彼らを 引き 立てて， アンモン 人のもとに 逃れようと 出發した．
  1. When Johanan son of Kareah and all the army officers who were with him heard about all the crimes Ishmael son of Nethaniah had committed,
  2. they took all their men and went to fight Ishmael son of Nethaniah. They caught up with him near the great pool in Gibeon.
  3. When all the people Ishmael had with him saw Johanan son of Kareah and the army officers who were with him, they were glad.
  4. All the people Ishmael had taken captive at Mizpah turned and went over to Johanan son of Kareah.
  5. But Ishmael son of Nethaniah and eight of his men escaped from Johanan and fled to the Ammonites.
  1. カレア の 子 ヨハナン をはじめとする 軍の 長は 皆， ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル が 行った 惡事を 聞き，
  2. 直ちに， すべての 兵を 率いて ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル と 戰うために 出發し， ギブオン の 大池のほとりで 彼に 追いついた．
  3. イシュマエル に 捕らえられていた 人¿は 皆， カレア の 子 ヨハナン と 軍の 長たちの 姿を 見て 歡喜した．
  4. イシュマエル が ミツパ から 捕虜として 連行した 人¿は， 一齊に 身を 飜して カレア の 子 ヨハナン のもとに 歸って 行った．
  5. ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル は 八人の 家來と 共に， ヨハナン の 前から 逃れて， アンモン 人のもとに 向かった．
  1. Then Johanan son of Kareah and all the army officers who were with him led away all the survivors from Mizpah whom he had recovered from Ishmael son of Nethaniah after he had assassinated Gedaliah son of Ahikam: the soldiers, women, children and court officials he had brought from Gibeon.
  2. And they went on, stopping at Geruth Kimham near Bethlehem on their way to Egypt
  3. to escape the Babylonians. They were afraid of them because Ishmael son of Nethaniah had killed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had appointed as governor over the land.
  1. アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ の 暗殺の 後， カレア の 子 ヨハナン と， 彼と 共にいたすべての 軍の 長たちは， ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル のもとから 救い 出した 民の 殘りの 者をすべて， すなわち， ギブオン から 連れ 戾した 指揮者， 兵士， 女， 子供， 宦官らを ミツパ から 連れて，
  2. 出發し， ベツレヘム に 近い キムハム の 宿場にとどまった． 彼らは エジプト へ 向かおうとしていた．
  3. バビロン の 王がその 地の 監督をゆだねた アヒカム の 子 ゲダルヤ を， ネタンヤ の 子 イシュマエル が 殺したために， 彼らは カルデア 人の 報復を 恐れたのである．
