창세기

  본서는 성경의 전체적 배경을 제공해 주는 시작의 책으로 주전 1440년 경 모세에 의해 기록된 것으로 믿어지고 있다. 본서는 모든 만물의 기원이 하나님의 창조에서 비롯되었으며 특히 인간은 하나님의 형상을 따라 창조되었으나 하나님의 뜻을 거역하여 타락했고 이에 하나님께서는 타락한 인간을 구원하시기 위한 구원의 역사를 펼쳐나가고 계시다는 것을 보여주기 위해 기록되었다.

 

 

창세기 1:1-2:25

하나님께서 말씀으로 천지 만물을 엿새 동안 창조하시고 제7일째는 안식하셨다. 하나님께서는 특별히 인간을 흙으로 지으시고 에덴 동산을 만들어 그 곳에서 선악을 알게 하는 나무의 실과를 제외한 모든 실과를 먹으며 살게 하셨다. 그리고 아담의 갈빗대를 취하여 돕는 배필, 즉 여자를 만드셨다.
 
  천지창조(1:1-2:3)    
 
  1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
  2. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
  3. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
  4. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.
  5. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.
  1. 태초에 하나님이 천지를 창조하시니라
  2. 땅이 혼돈하고 공허하며 흑암이 깊음 위에 있고 하나님의 영은 수면 위에 운행하시니라
  3. 하나님이 이르시되 빛이 있으라 하시니 빛이 있었고
  4. 빛이 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라 하나님이 빛과 어둠을 나누사
  5. 하나님이 빛을 낮이라 부르시고 어둠을 밤이라 부르시니라 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 첫째 날이니라
  1. And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."
  2. So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so.
  3. God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning--the second day.
  4. And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so.
  5. God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.
  1. 하나님이 이르시되 물 가운데에 궁창이 있어 물과 물로 나뉘라 하시고
  2. 하나님이 궁창을 만드사 궁창 아래의 물과 궁창 위의 물로 나뉘게 하시니 그대로 되니라
  3. 하나님이 궁창을 하늘이라 부르시니라 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 둘째 날이니라
  4. 하나님이 이르시되 천하의 물이 한 곳으로 모이고 뭍이 드러나라 하시니 그대로 되니라
  5. 하나님이 뭍을 땅이라 부르시고 모인 물을 바다라 부르시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라
  1. Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so.
  2. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
  3. And there was evening, and there was morning--the third day.
  4. And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,
  5. and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so.
  1. 하나님이 이르시되 땅은 풀과 씨 맺는 채소와 각기 종류대로 씨 가진 열매 맺는 나무를 내라 하시니 그대로 되어
  2. 땅이 풀과 각기 종류대로 씨 맺는 채소와 각기 종류대로 씨 가진 열매 맺는 나무를 내니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라
  3. 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 셋째 날이니라
  4. 하나님이 이르시되 하늘의 궁창에 광명체들이 있어 낮과 밤을 나뉘게 하고 그것들로 징조와 계절과 날과 해를 이루게 하라
  5. 또 광명체들이 하늘의 궁창에 있어 땅을 비추라 하시니 그대로 되니라
  1. God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
  2. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth,
  3. to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.
  4. And there was evening, and there was morning--the fourth day.
  5. And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."
  1. 하나님이 두 큰 광명체를 만드사 큰 광명체로 낮을 주관하게 하시고 작은 광명체로 밤을 주관하게 하시며 또 별들을 만드시고
  2. 하나님이 그것들을 하늘의 궁창에 두어 땅을 비추게 하시며
  3. 낮과 밤을 주관하게 하시고 빛과 어둠을 나뉘게 하시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라
  4. 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 넷째 날이니라
  5. 하나님이 이르시되 물들은 생물을 번성하게 하라 땅 위 하늘의 궁창에는 새가 날으라 하시고
  1. So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
  2. God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."
  3. And there was evening, and there was morning--the fifth day.
  4. And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so.
  5. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
  1. 하나님이 큰 바다 짐승들과 물에서 번성하여 움직이는 모든 생물을 그 종류대로, 날개 있는 모든 새를 그 종류대로 창조하시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라
  2. 하나님이 그들에게 복을 주시며 이르시되 생육하고 번성하여 여러 바닷물에 충만하라 새들도 땅에 번성하라 하시니라
  3. 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 다섯째 날이니라
  4. 하나님이 이르시되 땅은 생물을 그 종류대로 내되 가축과 기는 것과 땅의 짐승을 종류대로 내라 하시니 그대로 되니라
  5. 하나님이 땅의 짐승을 그 종류대로, 가축을 그 종류대로, 땅에 기는 모든 것을 그 종류대로 만드시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라
  1. Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
  2. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
  3. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
  4. Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
  5. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was so.
  1. 하나님이 이르시되 우리의 형상을 따라 우리의 모양대로 우리가 사람을 만들고 그들로 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 가축과 온 땅과 땅에 기는 모든 것을 다스리게 하자 하시고
  2. 하나님이 자기 형상 곧 하나님의 형상대로 사람을 창조하시되 남자와 여자를 창조하시고
  3. 하나님이 그들에게 복을 주시며 하나님이 그들에게 이르시되 생육하고 번성하여 땅에 충만하라, 땅을 정복하라, 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 땅에 움직이는 모든 생물을 다스리라 하시니라
  4. 하나님이 이르시되 내가 온 지면의 씨 맺는 모든 채소와 씨 가진 열매 맺는 모든 나무를 너희에게 주노니 너희의 먹을 거리가 되리라
  5. 또 땅의 모든 짐승과 하늘의 모든 새와 생명이 있어 땅에 기는 모든 것에게는 내가 모든 푸른 풀을 먹을 거리로 주노라 하시니 그대로 되니라
  1. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.
  1. 하나님이 지으신 그 모든 것을 보시니 보시기에 심히 좋았더라 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 여섯째 날이니라
 
 
  1. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
  2. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
  3. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
  1. 천지와 만물이 다 이루어지니라
  2. 하나님이 그가 하시던 일을 일곱째 날에 마치시니 그가 하시던 모든 일을 그치고 일곱째 날에 안식하시니라
  3. 하나님이 그 일곱째 날을 복되게 하사 거룩하게 하셨으니 이는 하나님이 그 창조하시며 만드시던 모든 일을 마치시고 그 날에 안식하셨음이니라
 
  아담과 하와(2:4-2:25)    
 
  1. This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens-
  2. and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground,
  3. but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground-
  4. the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
  5. Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
  1. 이것이 천지가 창조될 때에 하늘과 땅의 내력이니 여호와 하나님이 땅과 하늘을 만드시던 날에
  2. 여호와 하나님이 땅에 비를 내리지 아니하셨고 땅을 갈 사람도 없었으므로 들에는 초목이 아직 없었고 밭에는 채소가 나지 아니하였으며
  3. 안개만 땅에서 올라와 온 지면을 적셨더라
  4. 여호와 하나님이 땅의 흙으로 사람을 지으시고 생기를 그 코에 불어넣으시니 사람이 생령이 되니라
  5. 여호와 하나님이 동방의 에덴에 동산을 창설하시고 그 지으신 사람을 거기 두시니라
  1. And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
  2. A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters.
  3. The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.
  4. (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.)
  5. The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.
  1. 여호와 하나님이 그 땅에서 보기에 아름답고 먹기에 좋은 나무가 나게 하시니 동산 가운데에는 생명 나무와 선악을 알게 하는 나무도 있더라
  2. 강이 에덴에서 흘러 나와 동산을 적시고 거기서부터 갈라져 네 근원이 되었으니
  3. 첫째의 이름은 비손이라 금이 있는 하윌라 온 땅을 둘렀으며
  4. 그 땅의 금은 순금이요 그 곳에는 베델리엄과 호마노도 있으며
  5. 둘째 강의 이름은 기혼이라 구스 온 땅을 둘렀고
  1. The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Asshur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.
  2. The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
  3. And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
  4. but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."
  5. The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
  1. 셋째 강의 이름은 힛데겔이라 앗수르 동쪽으로 흘렀으며 넷째 강은 유브라데더라
  2. 여호와 하나님이 그 사람을 이끌어 에덴 동산에 두어 그것을 경작하며 지키게 하시고
  3. 여호와 하나님이 그 사람에게 명하여 이르시되 동산 각종 나무의 열매는 네가 임의로 먹되
  4. 선악을 알게 하는 나무의 열매는 먹지 말라 네가 먹는 날에는 반드시 죽으리라 하시니라
  5. 여호와 하나님이 이르시되 사람이 혼자 사는 것이 좋지 아니하니 내가 그를 위하여 돕는 배필을 지으리라 하시니라
  1. Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.
  2. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
  3. So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh.
  4. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
  5. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man."
  1. 여호와 하나님이 흙으로 각종 들짐승과 공중의 각종 새를 지으시고 아담이 무엇이라고 부르나 보시려고 그것들을 그에게로 이끌어 가시니 아담이 각 생물을 부르는 것이 곧 그 이름이 되었더라
  2. 아담이 모든 가축과 공중의 새와 들의 모든 짐승에게 이름을 주니라 아담이 돕는 배필이 없으므로
  3. 여호와 하나님이 아담을 깊이 잠들게 하시니 잠들매 그가 그 갈빗대 하나를 취하고 살로 대신 채우시고
  4. 여호와 하나님이 아담에게서 취하신 그 갈빗대로 여자를 만드시고 그를 아담에게로 이끌어 오시니
  5. 아담이 이르되 이는 내 뼈 중의 뼈요 살 중의 살이라 이것을 남자에게서 취하였은즉 여자라 부르리라 하니라
  1. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
  2. The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
  1. 이러므로 남자가 부모를 떠나 그의 아내와 합하여 둘이 한 몸을 이룰지로다
  2. 아담과 그의 아내 두 사람이 벌거벗었으나 부끄러워하지 아니하니라
 
  궁창(穹蒼, 1:6)  ‘두들겨 넓게 펼친 판’이라는 의미로 대기권의 하늘을 가리킴
