- On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai:
- "Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people. Ask them,
- 'Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing?
- But now be strong, O Zerubbabel,' declares the LORD. 'Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,' declares the LORD, 'and work. For I am with you,' declares the LORD Almighty.
- 'This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.'

- 일곱째 달 곧 그 달 이십일일에 여호와의 말씀이 선지자 학개에게 임하니라 이르시되
- 너는 스알디엘의 아들 유다 총독 스룹바벨과 여호사닥의 아들 대제사장 여호수아와 남은 백성에게 말하여 이르라
- 너희 가운데에 남아 있는 자 중에서 이 성전의 이전 영광을 본 자가 누구냐 이제 이것이 너희에게 어떻게 보이느냐 이것이 너희 눈에 보잘것없지 아니하냐
- 그러나 여호와가 이르노라 스룹바벨아 스스로 굳세게 할지어다 여호사닥의 아들 대제사장 여호수아야 스스로 굳세게 할지어다 여호와의 말이니라 이 땅 모든 백성아 스스로 굳세게 하여 일할지어다 내가 너희와 함께 하노라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라
- 너희가 애굽에서 나올 때에 내가 너희와 언약한 말과 나의 영이 계속하여 너희 가운데에 머물러 있나니 너희는 두려워하지 말지어다

- "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.
- I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD Almighty.
- 'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD Almighty.
- 'The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the LORD Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the LORD Almighty."
- On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Haggai:

- 만군의 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 조금 있으면 내가 하늘과 땅과 바다와 육지를 진동시킬 것이요
- 또한 모든 나라를 진동시킬 것이며 모든 나라의 보배가 이르리니 내가 이 성전에 영광이 충만하게 하리라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라
- 은도 내 것이요 금도 내 것이니라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라
- 이 성전의 나중 영광이 이전 영광보다 크리라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라 내가 이 곳에 평강을 주리라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라
- 다리오 왕 제이년 아홉째 달 이십사일에 여호와의 말씀이 선지자 학개에게 임하니라 이르시되

- "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Ask the priests what the law says:
- If a person carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and that fold touches some bread or stew, some wine, oil or other food, does it become consecrated?' " The priests answered, "No."
- Then Haggai said, "If a person defiled by contact with a dead body touches one of these things, does it become defiled?" "Yes," the priests replied, "it becomes defiled."
- Then Haggai said, " 'So it is with this people and this nation in my sight,' declares the LORD. 'Whatever they do and whatever they offer there is defiled.
- " 'Now give careful thought to this from this day on --consider how things were before one stone was laid on another in the LORD's temple.

- 만군의 여호와가 말하노니 너는 제사장에게 율법에 대하여 물어 이르기를
- 사람이 옷자락에 거룩한 고기를 쌌는데 그 옷자락이 만일 떡에나 국에나 포도주에나 기름에나 다른 음식물에 닿았으면 그것이 성물이 되겠느냐 하라 학개가 물으매 제사장들이 대답하여 이르되 아니니라 하는지라
- 학개가 이르되 시체를 만져서 부정하여진 자가 만일 그것들 가운데 하나를 만지면 그것이 부정하겠느냐 하니 제사장들이 대답하여 이르되 부정하리라 하더라
- 이에 학개가 대답하여 이르되 여호와의 말씀에 내 앞에서 이 백성이 그러하고 이 나라가 그러하고 그들의 손의 모든 일도 그러하고 그들이 거기에서 드리는 것도 부정하니라
- 이제 원하건대 너희는 오늘부터 이전 곧 여호와의 전에 돌이 돌 위에 놓이지 아니하였던 때를 기억하라

- When anyone came to a heap of twenty measures, there were only ten. When anyone went to a wine vat to draw fifty measures, there were only twenty.
- I struck all the work of your hands with blight, mildew and hail, yet you did not turn to me,' declares the LORD.
- 'From this day on, from this twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, give careful thought to the day when the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid. Give careful thought:
- Is there yet any seed left in the barn? Until now, the vine and the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not borne fruit. " 'From this day on I will bless you.' "
- The word of the LORD came to Haggai a second time on the twenty-fourth day of the month:

- 그 때에는 이십 고르 곡식 더미에 이른즉 십 고르뿐이었고 포도즙 틀에 오십 고르를 길으러 이른즉 이십 고르뿐이었었느니라
- 만군의 여호와가 말하노라 내가 너희 손으로 지은 모든 일에 곡식을 마르게 하는 재앙과 깜부기 재앙과 우박으로 쳤으나 너희가 내게로 돌이키지 아니하였느니라
- 너희는 오늘 이전을 기억하라 아홉째 달 이십사일 곧 여호와의 성전 지대를 쌓던 날부터 기억하여 보라
- 곡식 종자가 아직도 창고에 있느냐 포도나무, 무화과나무, 석류나무, 감람나무에 열매가 맺지 못하였느니라 그러나 오늘부터는 내가 너희에게 복을 주리라
- 그 달 이십사일에 여호와의 말씀이 다시 학개에게 임하니라 이르시되

- "Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I will shake the heavens and the earth.
- I will overturn royal thrones and shatter the power of the foreign kingdoms. I will overthrow chariots and their drivers; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.
- " 'On that day,' declares the LORD Almighty, 'I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,' declares the LORD, 'and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,' declares the LORD Almighty."

- 너는 유다 총독 스룹바벨에게 말하여 이르라 내가 하늘과 땅을 진동시킬 것이요
- 여러 왕국들의 보좌를 엎을 것이요 여러 나라의 세력을 멸할 것이요 그 병거들과 그 탄 자를 엎드러뜨리리니 말과 그 탄 자가 각각 그의 동료의 칼에 엎드러지리라
- 만군의 여호와가 말하노라 스알디엘의 아들 내 종 스룹바벨아 여호와가 말하노라 그 날에 내가 너를 세우고 너를 인장으로 삼으리니 이는 내가 너를 택하였음이니라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라 하시니라
