마태복음 11:25-12:21

 수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들을 안식으로 초대하신 예수님은 안식일의 주인으로서 율법의 근본 정신인 자비를 강조하셨다. 이에 바리새인들은 예수님을 죽이려고 의논하였다.
  
  안식으로의 초대(11:25-11:30)    
 
  1. At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
  2. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
  3. "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
  4. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
  5. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
  1. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
 
  안식일의 주인(12:1-12:21)    
 
  1. At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them.
  2. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, "Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath."
  3. He answered, "Haven't you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?
  4. He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread--which was not lawful for them to do, but only for the priests.
  5. Or haven't you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple desecrate the day and yet are innocent?
  1. I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
  2. If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent.
  3. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
  4. Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue,
  5. and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, they asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"
  1. He said to them, "If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?
  2. How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."
  3. Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.
  4. But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.
  5. Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. Many followed him, and he healed all their sick,
  1. warning them not to tell who he was.
  2. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
  3. "Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
  4. He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets.
  5. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory.
  1. In his name the nations will put their hope."
