- While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my body."
- Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and they all drank from it.
- "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many," he said to them.
- "I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God."
- When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

- 그들이 음식을 먹고 있을 때에 예수께서 빵을 들어 축복하시고 제자들에게 떼어 나눠주시며 "받아먹어라. 이것은 내 몸이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 그리고 잔을 들어 감사의 기도를 올리신 다음 제자들에게 건네시자 그들은 잔을 돌려가며 마셨다.
- 그 때에 예수께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "이것은 나의 피다. 많은 사람을 위하여 내가 흘리는 계약의 피다.
- 잘 들어두어라. 하느님 나라에서 새 포도주를 마실 그 날까지 나는 결코 포도로 빚은 것을 마시지 않겠다."
- 그들은 찬미의 노래를 부르고 올리브 산으로 올라갔다.

- "You will all fall away," Jesus told them, "for it is written: " 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'
- But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."
- Peter declared, "Even if all fall away, I will not."
- "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "today--yes, tonight--before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times."
- But Peter insisted emphatically, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the others said the same.

- 예수께서 제자들에게 "'내가 칼을 들어 목자를 치리니 양떼가 흩어지리라.'고 기록되어 있는 대로 너희는 모두 나를 버릴 것이다.
- 그러나 나는 다시 살아나서 너희보다 먼저 갈릴래아로 갈 것이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 그러자 베드로가 나서서 "비록 모든 사람이 주님을 버릴지라도 저는 주님을 버리지 않겠습니다." 하고 말하였다.
- 예수께서는 베드로에게 "내 말을 잘 들어라. 오늘 밤 닭이 두 번 울기 전에 너는 세 번이나 나를 모른다고 할 것이다." 하셨다.
- 그러자 베드로는 더욱 힘주어 "주님과 함께 죽는 한이 있더라도 결코 주님을 모른다고는 하지 않겠습니다." 하고 장담하였다. 다른 제자들도 다 같은 말을 하였다.

- They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."
- He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled.
- "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch."
- Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.
- "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

- 그들은 게쎄마니라는 곳에 이르렀다. 예수께서 제자들에게 "내가 기도하는 동안 여기 앉아 있어라." 하시고
- 베드로와 야고보와 요한만을 따로 데리고 가셨다. 그리고 공포와 번민에 싸여서
- "내 마음이 괴로워 죽을 지경이니 너희는 여기 남아서 깨어 있어라." 하시고는
- 조금 앞으로 나아가 땅에 엎드려 기도하셨다. 할 수만 있으면 수난의 시간을 겪지 않게 해달라고 하시며
- "아버지, 나의 아버지! 아버지께서는 무엇이든 다 하실 수 있으시니 이 잔을 나에게서 거두어주소서. 그러나 제 뜻대로 마시고 아버지의 뜻대로 하소서." 하고 말씀하셨다.

- Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Simon," he said to Peter, "are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?
- Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
- Once more he went away and prayed the same thing.
- When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him.
- Returning the third time, he said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

- 이렇게 기도하시고 나서 제자들에게 돌아와 보시니 그들은 자고 있었다. 그래서 베드로에게 "시몬아, 자고 있느냐? 단 한 시간도 깨어 있을 수 없단 말이냐?
- 유혹에 빠지지 않도록 깨어 기도하여라. 마음은 간절하나 몸이 말을 듣지 않는구나!" 하시고
- 다시 가셔서 같은 말씀으로 기도하셨다.
- 그리고 다시 돌아와 보시니 그들은 여전히 자고 있었다. 그들은 너무나 졸려 눈을 뜨고 있을 수가 없었던 것이다. 그들은 무슨 말을 해야 할지 몰랐다.
- 예수께서는 세 번째 다녀오셔서 "아직도 자고 있느냐? 아직도 쉬고 있느냐? 그만하면 넉넉하다. 자, 때가 왔다. 사람의 아들이 죄인들 손에 넘어가게 되었다.

- Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"
- Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.
- Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard."
- Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him.
- The men seized Jesus and arrested him.

- 일어나 가자. 나를 넘겨줄 자가 가까이 와 있다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수의 말씀이 채 끝나기도 전에 열두 제자의 하나인 유다가 나타났다. 그와 함께 대사제들과 율법학자들과 원로들이 보낸 무리가 칼과 몽둥이를 들고 떼지어 왔다.
- 그런데 배반자는 그들과 미리 암호를 짜고 "내가 입맞추는 사람이 바로 그 사람이니 붙잡아서 놓치지 말고 끌고 가라." 하고 일러두었던 것이다.
- 그가 예수께 다가 와서 "선생님!" 하고 인사하면서 입을 맞추자
- 무리가 달려들어 예수를 붙잡았다.

- Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
- "Am I leading a rebellion," said Jesus, "that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me?
- Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled."
- Then everyone deserted him and fled.
- A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him,

- 그 때 예수와 함께 서 있던 사람 하나가 칼을 빼어 대사제의 종의 귀를 쳐서 잘라버렸다.
- 그것을 보시고 예수께서는 무리들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "칼과 몽둥이를 들고 잡으러 왔으니 내가 강도란 말이냐?
- 너희는 내가 전에 날마다 성전에서 같이 있으면서 가르칠 때에는 나를 잡지 않았다. 그러나 오늘 이렇게 된 것은 성서의 말씀이 이루어지기 위한 것이다."
- 그 때에 제자들은 예수를 버리고 모두 달아났다.
- 몸에 고운 삼베만을 두른 젊은이가 예수를 따라가다가 사람들에게 붙들리게 되었다.
