  1. While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my body."
  2. Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and they all drank from it.
  3. "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many," he said to them.
  4. "I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God."
  5. When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
  1. While they were eating, He took some bread, and after a blessing He broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is My body."
  2. And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it.
  3. And He said to them, "This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.
  4. "Truly I say to you, I will never again drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God."
  5. After singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
  1. "You will all fall away," Jesus told them, "for it is written: " 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'
  2. But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."
  3. Peter declared, "Even if all fall away, I will not."
  4. "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "today--yes, tonight--before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times."
  5. But Peter insisted emphatically, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the others said the same.
  1. And Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away, because it is written, 'I WILL STRIKE DOWN THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP SHALL BE SCATTERED.'
  2. "But after I have been raised, I will go ahead of you to Galilee."
  3. But Peter said to Him, "Even though all may fall away, yet I will not."
  4. And Jesus said to him, "Truly I say to you, that this very night, before a rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times."
  5. But Peter kept saying insistently, "Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!" And they all were saying the same thing also.
  1. They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."
  2. He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled.
  3. "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch."
  4. Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.
  5. "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."
  1. They came to a place named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, "Sit here until I have prayed."
  2. And He took with Him Peter and James and John, and began to be very distressed and troubled.
  3. And He said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved to the point of death; remain here and keep watch."
  4. And He went a little beyond them, and fell to the ground and began to pray that if it were possible, the hour might pass Him by.
  5. And He was saying, "Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will."
  1. Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Simon," he said to Peter, "are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?
  2. Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
  3. Once more he went away and prayed the same thing.
  4. When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him.
  5. Returning the third time, he said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
  1. And He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?
  2. "Keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
  3. Again He went away and prayed, saying the same words.
  4. And again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him.
  5. And He came the third time, and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough; the hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
  1. Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"
  2. Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.
  3. Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard."
  4. Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him.
  5. The men seized Jesus and arrested him.
  1. "Get up, let us be going; behold, the one who betrays Me is at hand!"
  2. Immediately while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came up accompanied by a crowd with swords and clubs, who were from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
  3. Now he who was betraying Him had given them a signal, saying, "Whomever I kiss, He is the one; seize Him and lead Him away under guard."
  4. After coming, Judas immediately went to Him, saying, "Rabbi!" and kissed Him.
  5. They laid hands on Him and seized Him.
  1. Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
  2. "Am I leading a rebellion," said Jesus, "that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me?
  3. Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled."
  4. Then everyone deserted him and fled.
  5. A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him,
  1. But one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear.
  2. And Jesus said to them, "Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me, as you would against a robber?
  3. "Every day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me; but this has taken place to fulfill the Scriptures."
  4. And they all left Him and fled.
  5. A young man was following Him, wearing nothing but a linen sheet over his naked body; and they seized him.
  1. he fled naked, leaving his garment behind.
  1. But he pulled free of the linen sheet and escaped naked.
