- Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled.
- He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him.
- On the third day he will rise again."
- The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
- As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

- さて イエス は， 十二弟子をそばに 呼んで， 彼らに 話された． 「さあ， これから， わたしたちは エルサレム に 向かって 行きます． 人の 子について 預言者たちが 書いているすべてのことが 實現されるのです．
- 人の 子は 異邦人に 引き 渡され， そして 彼らにあざけられ， はずかしめられ， つばきをかけられます．
- 彼らは 人の 子をむちで 打ってから 殺します． しかし， 人の 子は 三日目によみがえります． 」
- しかし 弟子たちには， これらのことが 何一つわからなかった． 彼らには， このことばは 隱されていて， 話された 事が 理解できなかった．
- イエス が エリコ に 近づかれたころ， ある 盲人が， 道ばたにすわり， 物ごいをしていた．

- When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening.
- They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."
- He called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
- Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
- Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him,

- 群衆が 通って 行くのを 耳にして， これはいったい 何事ですか， と 尋ねた．
- ナザレ の イエス がお 通りになるのだ， と 知らせると，
- 彼は 大聲で， 「ダビデ の 子の イエス さま． 私をあわれんでください． 」と 言った．
- 彼を 默らせようとして， 先頭にいた 人¿がたしなめたが， 盲人は， ますます「ダビデ の 子よ． 私をあわれんでください． 」と 叫び 立てた．
- イエス は 立ち 止まって， 彼をそばに 連れて 來るように 言いつけられた．

- "What do you want me to do for you?" "Lord, I want to see," he replied.
- Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you."
- Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

- 彼が 近寄って 來たので， 「わたしに 何をしてほしいのか． 」と 尋ねられると， 彼は， 「主よ． 目が 見えるようになることです． 」と 言った．
- イエス が 彼に， 「見えるようになれ． あなたの 信仰があなたを 直したのです． 」と 言われると，
- 彼はたちどころに 目が 見えるようになり， 神をあがめながら イエス について 行った． これを 見て 民はみな 神を 贊美した．
