  1. This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.
  2. But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to see you,
  3. I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to visit you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while.
  4. Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the saints there.
  5. For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
  1. For this reason I have often been prevented from coming to you;
  2. but now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I have had for many years a longing to come to you
  3. whenever I go to Spain--for I hope to see you in passing, and to be helped on my way there by you, when I have first enjoyed your company for a while--
  4. but now, I am going to Jerusalem serving the saints.
  5. For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
  1. They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews' spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.
  2. So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this fruit, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way.
  3. I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ.
  4. I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.
  5. Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there,
  1. Yes, they were pleased to do so, and they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things.
  2. Therefore, when I have finished this, and have put my seal on this fruit of theirs, I will go on by way of you to Spain.
  3. I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.
  4. Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,
  5. that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints;
  1. so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed.
  2. The God of peace be with you all. Amen.
  1. so that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and find refreshing rest in your company.
  2. Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

  1. I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchrea.
  2. I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many people, including me.
  3. Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus.
  4. They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them.
  5. Greet also the church that meets at their house. Greet my dear friend Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia.
  1. I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea;
  2. that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.
  3. Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,
  4. who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles;
  5. also greet the church that is in their house Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the first convert to Christ from Asia.
  1. Greet Mary, who worked very hard for you.
  2. Greet Andronicus and Junias, my relatives who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was.
  1. Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you.
  2. Greet Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners, who are outstanding among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
