에스라 8:21-9:15

 에스라는 아하와 강가에서 백성들에게 금식을 선포하고 예루살렘에 이르는 동안 인생길 어려움에 대하여 하나님의 도우심을 구하였다. 예루살렘에 안착한 후, 방백들은 에스라에게 와서 이방 여인과 결혼한 백성들의 죄를 알렸다. 이에 에스라는 백성들의 범죄로 인하여 큰 근심 가운데 하나님께 통곡하며 회개 기도를 하였다.
  
  에스라가 가져온 물품(8:21-8:36)    
 
  1. There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions.
  2. I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to protect us from enemies on the road, because we had told the king, "The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him."
  3. So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer.
  4. Then I set apart twelve of the leading priests, together with Sherebiah, Hashabiah and ten of their brothers,
  5. and I weighed out to them the offering of silver and gold and the articles that the king, his advisers, his officials and all Israel present there had donated for the house of our God.
  1. そこでわたしは， かしこの アハワ 川のほとりで 斷食を 布告し， われわれの 神の 前で 身をひくくし， われわれと， われわれの 幼き 者と， われわれのすべての 貨財のために， 正しい 道を 示されるように 神に 求めた．
  2. これは， われわれがさきに 王に 告げて， 「われわれの 神の 手は， 神を 求めるすべての 者の 上にやさしく 下り， その 威力と 怒りとはすべて 神を 捨てる 者の 上に 下る 」と 言ったので， わたしは 道中の 敵に 對して， われわれを 守るべき 步兵と 騎兵とを， 王に 賴むことを 恥じたからである．
  3. そこでわれわれは 斷食して， このことをわれわれの 神に 求めたところ， 神はその 願いを 聞きいれられた．
  4. わたしはおもだった 祭司十二人すなわち セレビヤ ， ハシャビヤ およびその 兄弟十人を 選び，
  5. 金銀および 器物， すなわち 王と， その 議官と， その 諸侯およびすべて 在留の イスラエル びとが， われわれの 神の 宮のためにささげた 奉納物を 量って 彼らに 渡した．
  1. I weighed out to them 650 talents of silver, silver articles weighing 100 talents, 100 talents of gold,
  2. 20 bowls of gold valued at 1,000 darics, and two fine articles of polished bronze, as precious as gold.
  3. I said to them, "You as well as these articles are consecrated to the LORD. The silver and gold are a freewill offering to the LORD, the God of your fathers.
  4. Guard them carefully until you weigh them out in the chambers of the house of the LORD in Jerusalem before the leading priests and the Levites and the family heads of Israel."
  5. Then the priests and Levites received the silver and gold and sacred articles that had been weighed out to be taken to the house of our God in Jerusalem.
  1. わたしが 量って 彼らの 手に 渡したものは， 銀六百五十 タラント ， 銀の 器百 タラント ， 金百 タラント であった．
  2. また 金の 大杯が 二十あって， 一千 ダリク に 當る． また 光り 輝く 靑銅の 器二個あって， その 尊いこと 金のようである．
  3. そしてわたしは 彼らに 言った， 「あなたがたは 主に 聖別された 者である． この 器物も 聖である． またこの 金銀は， あなたがたの 先祖の 神， 主にささげた 眞心よりの 供え 物である．
  4. あなたがたは エルサレム で， 主の 宮のへやの 中で， 祭司長， レビ びとおよび イスラエル の 氏族のかしらたちの 前で， これを 量るまで， 見張り， かつ 守りなさい 」．
  5. そこで 祭司および レビ びとたちは， その 金銀および 器物を， エルサレム にあるわれわれの 神の 宮に 携えて 行くため， その 重さのものを 受け 取った．
  1. On the twelfth day of the first month we set out from the Ahava Canal to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he protected us from enemies and bandits along the way.
  2. So we arrived in Jerusalem, where we rested three days.
  3. On the fourth day, in the house of our God, we weighed out the silver and gold and the sacred articles into the hands of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest. Eleazar son of Phinehas was with him, and so were the Levites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.
  4. Everything was accounted for by number and weight, and the entire weight was recorded at that time.
  5. Then the exiles who had returned from captivity sacrificed burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven male lambs and, as a sin offering, twelve male goats. All this was a burnt offering to the LORD.
  1. われわれは 正月の 十二日に， アハワ 川を 出立して エルサレム に 向かったが， われわれの 神の 手は， われわれの 上にあって， 敵の 手および 道に 待ち 伏せする 者の 手から， われわれを 救われた．
  2. われわれは エルサレム に 着いて， 三日そこにいたが，
  3. 四日目にわれわれの 神の 宮の 內で， その 金銀および 器物を， ウリヤ の 子祭司 メレモテ の 手に 量って 渡した． ピネハス の 子 エレアザル が 彼と 共にいた． また エシュア の 子 ヨザバデ ， および ビンヌイ の 子 ノアデヤ のふたりの レビ びとも， 彼らと 共にいた．
  4. すなわちそのすべての 數と 重さとを 調べ， その 重さは 皆書きとめられた．
  5. そのとき 捕囚の 人¿で 捕囚から 歸って 來た 者は， イスラエル の 神に §祭をささげた． すなわち イスラエル 全體のために 雄牛十二頭， 雄羊九十六頭， 小羊七十七頭をささげ， また 罪祭として 雄やぎ 十二頭をささげた． これらはみな， 主にささげた §祭である．
  1. They also delivered the king's orders to the royal satraps and to the governors of Trans-Euphrates, who then gave assistance to the people and to the house of God.
  1. 彼らはまた 王の 命令書を， 王の 總督たち， および 川向こうの 州の 知事たちに 渡したので， 彼らは 民と 神の 宮とを 援助した．
 
  에스라의 통치(9:1-9:15)    
 
  1. After these things had been done, the leaders came to me and said, "The people of Israel, including the priests and the Levites, have not kept themselves separate from the neighboring peoples with their detestable practices, like those of the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians and Amorites.
  2. They have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, and have mingled the holy race with the peoples around them. And the leaders and officials have led the way in this unfaithfulness."
  3. When I heard this, I tore my tunic and cloak, pulled hair from my head and beard and sat down appalled.
  4. Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel gathered around me because of this unfaithfulness of the exiles. And I sat there appalled until the evening sacrifice.
  5. Then, at the evening sacrifice, I rose from my self-abasement, with my tunic and cloak torn, and fell on my knees with my hands spread out to the LORD my God
  1. これらの 事がなされた 後， つかさたちは， わたしのもとに 來て 言った， 「イスラエル の 民， 祭司および レビ びとは 諸國の 民と 離れないで， カナン びと， ヘテ びと， ペリジ びと， エブス びと， アンモン びと， モアブ びと， エジプト びと， アモリ びとなどの 憎むべき 事を 行いました．
  2. すなわち， 彼らの 娘たちをみずからめとり， またそのむすこたちにめとったので， 聖なる 種が 諸國の 民とまじりました． そしてつかさたる 者， 長たる 者が 先だって， このとがを 犯しました 」．
  3. わたしはこの 事を 聞いた 時， 着物と 上着とを 裂き， 髮の 毛とひげを 拔き， 驚きあきれてすわった．
  4. イスラエル の 神の 言葉におののく 者は 皆， 捕囚から 歸って 來た 人¿のとがのゆえに， わたしのもとに 集まったが， わたしは 夕の 供え 物の 時まで， 驚きあきれてすわった．
  5. 夕の 供え 物の 時になって， わたしは 斷食から 立ちあがり， 着物と 上着を 裂いたまま， ひざをかがめて， わが 神， 主にむかって 手をさし 伸べて，
  1. and prayed: "O my God, I am too ashamed and disgraced to lift up my face to you, my God, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens.
  2. From the days of our forefathers until now, our guilt has been great. Because of our sins, we and our kings and our priests have been subjected to the sword and captivity, to pillage and humiliation at the hand of foreign kings, as it is today.
  3. "But now, for a brief moment, the LORD our God has been gracious in leaving us a remnant and giving us a firm place in his sanctuary, and so our God gives light to our eyes and a little relief in our bondage.
  4. Though we are slaves, our God has not deserted us in our bondage. He has shown us kindness in the sight of the kings of Persia: He has granted us new life to rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, and he has given us a wall of protection in Judah and Jerusalem.
  5. "But now, O our God, what can we say after this? For we have disregarded the commands
  1. 言った， ／「わが 神よ， わたしはあなたにむかって 顔を 上げるのを 恥じて， 赤面します． われわれの 不義は 積って 頭よりも 高くなり， われわれのとがは 重なって 天に 達したからです．
  2. われわれの 先祖の 日から 今日まで， われわれは 大いなるとがを 負い， われわれの 不義によって， われわれとわれわれの 王たち， および 祭司たちは 國¿の 王たちの 手にわたされ， つるぎにかけられ， 捕え 行かれ， かすめられ， 恥をこうむりました． 今日のとおりです．
  3. ところがいま， われわれの 神， 主は， しばし 惠みを 施して， のがれ 殘るべき 者をわれわれのうちにおき， その 聖所のうちに 確かなよりどころを 與え， こうしてわれわれの 神はわれわれの 目を 明らかにし， われわれをその 奴隷のうちにあって， 少しく 生き 返らせられました．
  4. われわれは 奴隷の 身でありますが， その 奴隷たる 時にも 神はわれわれを 見捨てられず， かえって ペルシャ 王たちの 目の 前でいつくしみを 施して， われわれを 生き 返らせ， われわれの 神の 宮を 建てさせ， その 破壞をつくろわせ， ユダ と エルサレム でわれわれに 保護を 與えられました．
  5. われわれの 神よ， この 後， 何を 言うことができましょう． われわれは， あなたの 戒めを 捨てたからです．
  1. you gave through your servants the prophets when you said: 'The land you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the corruption of its peoples. By their detestable practices they have filled it with their impurity from one end to the other.
  2. Therefore, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters for your sons. Do not seek a treaty of friendship with them at any time, that you may be strong and eat the good things of the land and leave it to your children as an everlasting inheritance.'
  3. "What has happened to us is a result of our evil deeds and our great guilt, and yet, our God, you have punished us less than our sins have deserved and have given us a remnant like this.
  4. Shall we again break your commands and intermarry with the peoples who commit such detestable practices? Would you not be angry enough with us to destroy us, leaving us no remnant or survivor?
  5. O LORD, God of Israel, you are righteous! We are left this day as a remnant. Here we are before you in our guilt, though because of it not one of us can stand in your presence."
  1. あなたはかつて， あなたのしもべである 預言者たちによって 命じて 仰せられました， 『おまえたちが 行って 獲ようとする 地は， 各地の 民の 汚れにより， その 憎むべきわざによって 汚れた 地で， この 果から， かの 果まで， その 汚れに 滿ちている．
  2. それでおまえたちの 娘を， 彼らのむすこに 與えてはならない． 彼らの 娘を， おまえたちのむすこにめとってはならない． また 永久に 彼らの 平安をも 福祉をも 求めてはならない． そうすればおまえたちは 强くなり， その 地の 良き 物を 食べ， これを 永久におまえたちの 子孫に 傳えて 嗣業とさせることができる 』と．
  3. われわれの 惡い 行いにより， 大いなるとがによって， これらすべてのことが， すでにわれわれに 臨みましたが， われわれの 神なるあなたは， われわれの 不義よりも 輕い 罰をくだして， このように 殘りの 者を 與えてくださったのを 見ながら，
  4. われわれは 再びあなたの 命令を 破って， これらの 憎むべきわざを 行う 民と 緣を 結んでよいでしょうか． あなたはわれわれを 怒って， ついに 滅ぼし 盡し， 殘る 者も， のがれる 者もないようにされるのではないでしょうか．
  5. ああ， イスラエル の 神， 主よ， あなたは 正しくいらせられます． われわれはのがれて 殘ること 今日のとおりです． われわれは， とがをもってあなたの 前にあります． それゆえだれもあなたの 前に 立つことはできません 」．
