예레미야 7:1-8:22

 유다의 죄는 성전 예배에서도 지적되었다. 즉 유다 백성들은 성전에서 제사를 드리면서 우상을 숭배하였고, 영적 지도자들은 율법을 잘못 해석하고 기록하여 백성들을 잘못 인도하였다. 하나님께서는 이 죄를 회개하지 않으면 형벌을 내리겠다고 선언하셨지만, 유다는 끝내 회개하지 않아 바벨론의 침략이라는 하나님의 징계를 받게 되었다.
  
  유다의 책망(7:1-8:3)    
 
  1. This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD :
  2. "Stand at the gate of the LORD's house and there proclaim this message: " 'Hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the LORD.
  3. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place.
  4. Do not trust in deceptive words and say, "This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD!"
  5. If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly,
  1. 여호와께서 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 성전 입구에서 서서 이 말을 선포하라. 여호와께 경배하려고 이 문으로 들어가는 모든 유다 사람들아, 여호와의 말씀을 들어라.
  3. 전능하신 여호와, 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다. '너희는 생활 방식과 행실을 고쳐라. 그러면 내가 너희를 계속 이 곳에 살게 하겠다.
  4. 너희는 성전이 이 곳에 있으므로 안전할 것이라는 거짓말을 믿지 말아라.
  5. 너희가 만일 진정으로 생활 방식과 행실을 고치고 이웃에게 공정하고 옳은 일을 행하며
  1. if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm,
  2. then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your forefathers for ever and ever.
  3. But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.
  4. " 'Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known,
  5. and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say, "We are safe"-safe to do all these detestable things?
  1. 외국인과 고아와 과부를 억압하지 않고 이 땅에서 죄 없는 자를 죽이지 않으며 다른 신들을 섬겨 지금처럼 너희 자신을 해하지 않으면
  2. 내가 너희 조상들에게 준 이 땅에서 너희가 계속 살 수 있게 하겠다.
  3. '보라, 너희는 헛된 거짓을 믿고 있다.
  4. 너희는 도둑질하고 살인하며 간음하고 거짓 맹세하며 바알에게 분향하고 너희가 전에 알지 못하던 다른 신들을 섬기면서도
  5. 내 성전에 들어와서는 내 앞에 서서 구원을 받았다고 말하니 이것은 너희가 모든 더러운 일을 행하려는 것이 아니냐?
  1. Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the LORD.
  2. " 'Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.
  3. While you were doing all these things, declares the LORD, I spoke to you again and again, but you did not listen; I called you, but you did not answer.
  4. Therefore, what I did to Shiloh I will now do to the house that bears my Name, the temple you trust in, the place I gave to you and your fathers.
  5. I will thrust you from my presence, just as I did all your brothers, the people of Ephraim.'
  1. 너희 눈에는 나의 성전이 도둑의 소굴로 보이느냐? 나는 너희가 행하는 일을 다 지켜보았다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.
  2. 너희는 내가 경배받을 예배처로 제일 처음 택한 실로에 가서 내 백성 이스라엘의 악에 대하여 내가 어떻게 했는지 알아보아라.
  3. 나 여호와가 말한다. 너희가 이 모든 일을 행하고 있을 때에 내가 너희에게 거듭 말했어도 너희는 듣지 않았으며 내가 너희를 불러도 너희는 대답하지 않았다.
  4. 그러므로 너희가 의지하는 나의 성전, 곧 내가 너희와 너희 조상들에게 준 바로 이 곳에도 내가 실로에서 한 것처럼 행할 것이며
  5. 내가 너희 형제 에브라임 자손에게 행한 것처럼 내 앞에서 너희를 쫓아낼 것이다.'
  1. "So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen to you.
  2. Do you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
  3. The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes of bread for the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger.
  4. But am I the one they are provoking? declares the LORD. Are they not rather harming themselves, to their own shame?
  5. " 'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: My anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, on man and beast, on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground, and it will burn and not be quenched.
  1. 예레미야야, 너는 이 백성을 위하여 기도하지 말아라. 그들을 위하여 부르짖거나 간구하지 말아라. 내가 네 기도를 듣지 않을 것이다.
  2. 너는 그들이 유다 성들과 예루살렘 거리에서 행하는 일을 보지 못하느냐?
  3. 아이들은 나무를 줍고 어른들은 불을 피우며 부인들은 가루를 반죽하여 하늘의 여왕을 위해서 과자를 만들며 또 그들은 다른 신들에게 술을 따라 제사를 드림으로 나의 분노를 일으키고 있다.
  4. 나 여호와가 말한다. 그들이 그렇게 한다고 해서 내가 피해를 입겠느냐? 오히려 그것은 스스로를 해칠 뿐이며 자신들에게 수치를 안겨다 줄 뿐이다.
  5. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 나의 분과 진노를 이 성전에 쏟고 또 사람과 짐승, 나무와 농작물에도 쏟을 것이니 그것이 꺼지지 않는 불이 되어 모든 것을 태워 버릴 것이다.'
  1. " 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Go ahead, add your burnt offerings to your other sacrifices and eat the meat yourselves!
  2. For when I brought your forefathers out of Egypt and spoke to them, I did not just give them commands about burnt offerings and sacrifices,
  3. but I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you.
  4. But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.
  5. From the time your forefathers left Egypt until now, day after day, again and again I sent you my servants the prophets.
  1. 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다. '너희는 다른 제물에 번제물을 더하여 그 고기를 먹어라.
  2. 내가 너희 조상을 이집트에서 이끌어낼 때에 번제나 희생제물에 대해서는 말하거나 명령하지 않고
  3. 다만 그들에게 '너희는 나에게 순종하라. 그러면 나는 너희 하나님이 되고 너희는 내 백성이 될 것이다. 너희는 내가 명령한 길로 행하라. 그러면 모든 일이 다 잘 될 것이다.' 하였으나
  4. 그들은 내 말을 듣지도 않았고 귀를 기울이지도 않았으며 자기들의 고집과 악한 생각을 따라 자기들 멋대로 행하고 전진하기보다는 오히려 뒷걸음질을 하고 있었다.
  5. 너희 조상들이 이집트에서 나온 날부터 지금까지 내가 나의 종들인 예언자들을 너희에게 수없이 보냈으나
  1. But they did not listen to me or pay attention. They were stiff-necked and did more evil than their forefathers.'
  2. "When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you; when you call to them, they will not answer.
  3. Therefore say to them, 'This is the nation that has not obeyed the LORD its God or responded to correction. Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips.
  4. Cut off your hair and throw it away; take up a lament on the barren heights, for the LORD has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath.
  5. " 'The people of Judah have done evil in my eyes, declares the LORD. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it.
  1. 너희는 내 말을 듣지도 않았고 귀를 기울이지도 않았으며 오히려 고집을 피우고 너희 조상들보다 더 많은 악을 행하였다.
  2. 예레미야야, 네가 내 백성에게 이 모든 말을 전하여도 그들이 네 말을 듣지 않을 것이며 네가 불러도 그들이 대답하지 않을 것이다.
  3. 그러므로 너는 그들에게 이렇게 말하라. '너희는 너희 하나님 여호와께 순종하지 않고 그의 가르침을 받지 않는 국민이다. 진실이 사라져 너희 입에서 끊어졌구나.
  4. 너희는 머리털을 잘라 던지고 산언덕에서 슬피 울어라. 여호와께서 노하셔서 이 세대를 버리셨다.'
  5. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '유다 백성들이 내가 보는 데서 악을 행하여 바로 내 성전에다 그들의 우상을 세워 성전을 더럽혔다.
  1. They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire--something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.
  2. So beware, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when people will no longer call it Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter, for they will bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room.
  3. Then the carcasses of this people will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away.
  4. I will bring an end to the sounds of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem, for the land will become desolate.
  1. 그들은 힌놈 골짜기에 도벳 사당을 건축하고 그들의 자녀를 제물로 불에 태웠으니 이것은 내가 명령한 것도 아니며 마음에 생각했던 일도 아니다.
  2. 그러므로 이 곳을 도벳이나 힌놈 골짜기라고 부르지 않고 '살육의 골짜기'라고 부를 때가 올 것이다. 이것은 죽은 시체가 너무 많아 묻을 곳이 없어 그 시체를 이 골짜기에 버릴 것이기 때문이다.
  3. 이 백성의 시체가 공중의 새와 들짐승의 밥이 되어도 그것을 쫓을 자가 없을 것이다.
  4. 그 때에 내가 유다 성들과 예루살렘 거리에 기뻐하고 즐거워하는 소리와 신랑과 신부의 소리가 끊어지게 할 것이니 이 땅이 황폐해 질 것이다.'
 
 
  1. " 'At that time, declares the LORD, the bones of the kings and officials of Judah, the bones of the priests and prophets, and the bones of the people of Jerusalem will be removed from their graves.
  2. They will be exposed to the sun and the moon and all the stars of the heavens, which they have loved and served and which they have followed and consulted and worshiped. They will not be gathered up or buried, but will be like refuse lying on the ground.
  3. Wherever I banish them, all the survivors of this evil nation will prefer death to life, declares the LORD Almighty.'
  1. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '그 때에 대적들이 유다의 왕들과 신하들과 제사장들과 예언자들과 예루살렘 백성의 무덤을 파헤치고 그들의 뼈를 끄집어 내어
  2. 그들이 사랑하고 섬기며 따르고 찾아 경배하던 해와 달과 하늘의 무수한 별 아래 흩어 버리고 그것을 거두거나 묻지 않을 것이니 그 뼈들은 분뇨처럼 땅에 흩어진 채 그대로 있을 것이다.
  3. 그리고 이 악한 민족 중에 살아 남는 자들은 내가 흩어 버린 곳에서 사는 것보다는 차라리 죽음을 원할 것이다. 전능한 나 여호와의 말이다.'
 
  회개하지 않는 유다(8:4-8:22)    
 
  1. "Say to them, 'This is what the LORD says: " 'When men fall down, do they not get up? When a man turns away, does he not return?
  2. Why then have these people turned away? Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.
  3. I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, saying, "What have I done?" Each pursues his own course like a horse charging into battle.
  4. Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the LORD.
  5. " 'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?
  1. 너는 그들에게 나 여호와가 다시 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. '사람이 넘어지면 일어나지 않겠느냐? 사람이 떠나가면 돌아오지 않겠느냐?
  2. 그런데 어째서 이 백성은 항상 나를 떠나기만 하고 돌아오지 않는가? 너희는 거짓된 것에 집착하여 돌아오기를 거절하고 있다.
  3. 내가 귀를 기울이고 들어 보니 너희는 옳은 것을 말하지 않으며 아무도 자기 악을 뉘우치는 자가 없고 '내가 잘못할 것이 무엇인가?' 하고 묻는 자도 없으며 모두 전쟁터로 달려가는 말처럼 제각기 자기 길로만 행하고 있다.
  4. 공중의 학도 자기 철을 알고 산비둘기와 제비와 두루미도 이주해 올 때를 지키는데 내 백성인 너희는 나 여호와의 요구를 알지 못하고 있다.
  5. 너희가 어떻게 '우리에게는 지혜가 있고 여호와의 율법이 있다.' 하고 말할 수 있겠느냐? 보라, 서기관들의 거짓된 붓이 율법을 거짓말로 만들었다.
  1. The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, what kind of wisdom do they have?
  2. Therefore I will give their wives to other men and their fields to new owners. From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit.
  3. They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. "Peace, peace," they say, when there is no peace.
  4. Are they ashamed of their loathsome conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when they are punished, says the LORD.
  5. " 'I will take away their harvest, declares the LORD. There will be no grapes on the vine. There will be no figs on the tree, and their leaves will wither. What I have given them will be taken from them. ' "
  1. 너희 지혜로운 자들은 수치를 당하고 당황하여 함정에 빠질 것이다. 그들이 나 여호와의 말을 버렸는데 무슨 지혜가 있겠느냐?
  2. 그러므로 내가 그들의 아내를 다른 사람에게 주고 그들의 토지를 새 소유주에게 넘겨 줄 것이다. 그들은 가장 말단에 있는 사람으로부터 가장 높은 자리에 있는 사람까지 모두 물질을 탐하고 심지어 예언자나 제사장들까지도 거짓된 일을 하고 있다.
  3. 그들은 내 백성의 상처가 별로 중하지 않은 것처럼 그것을 어루만지며 '평안하다, 평안하다.'하고 말하지만 사실 평안은 없다.
  4. 그들이 자기들의 더러운 행위를 부끄럽게 여겼느냐? 아니다. 그들은 조금도 부끄러워하지 않았을 뿐만 아니라 얼굴 하나 붉히지 않았다. 그러므로 그들은 다른 사람들과 함께 거꾸러질 것이며 내가 벌을 내릴 때에 파멸될 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
  5. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '내가 그들의 농작물을 거두어 가겠다. 포도나무에는 포도가 없을 것이요 무화과나무에는 무화과가 없고 잎이 마를 것이며 내가 그들에게 준 것이 다 없어지고 말 것이다.'
  1. "Why are we sitting here? Gather together! Let us flee to the fortified cities and perish there! For the LORD our God has doomed us to perish and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against him.
  2. We hoped for peace but no good has come, for a time of healing but there was only terror.
  3. The snorting of the enemy's horses is heard from Dan; at the neighing of their stallions the whole land trembles. They have come to devour the land and everything in it, the city and all who live there."
  4. "See, I will send venomous snakes among you, vipers that cannot be charmed, and they will bite you," declares the LORD.
  5. O my Comforter in sorrow, my heart is faint within me.
  1. 그때 백성들이 이렇게 말할 것이다. '우리가 어찌 가만히 앉아만 있겠느냐? 자, 모여라! 요새 성으로 도망가서 거기서 멸망하자. 우리가 여호와께 범죄하였으므로 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리를 멸망시키기로 작정하시고 우리에게 마실 독을 주셨다.
  2. 우리가 평안을 기대하나 평안이 없으며 우리가 고침받을 때를 기대하나 두려움뿐이구나!
  3. 적의 말들이 부르짖는 소리가 단에서 들리고 그 말들의 우는 소리에 온 땅이 진동하며 그들이 이 땅에 침입하여 땅과 모든 농작물과 성들과 거기에 사는 모든 사람들을 다 삼켜 버렸다.'
  4. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '내가 마법으로도 부릴 수 없는 뱀, 곧 독사를 너희 가운데 보낼 것이니 그것들이 너희 물 것이다.'
  5. 내가 내 슬픔을 걷잡을 수 없으니 정말 내 마음이 괴롭구나.
  1. Listen to the cry of my people from a land far away: "Is the LORD not in Zion? Is her King no longer there?" "Why have they provoked me to anger with their images, with their worthless foreign idols?"
  2. "The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we are not saved."
  3. Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me.
  4. Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?
  1. 멀리서 부르짖는 내 백성의 소리를 들어 보아라. '여호와께서 시온에 안 계시는가? 시온의 왕이 이제는 그 곳에 계시지 않는가?' 그들의 왕 여호와께서 대답하신다. '그들이 어째서 새겨 만든 신상과 헛된 이방의 우상으로 나를 노하게 하였는가?'
  2. 백성들이 부르짖는다. '여름이 가고 추수할 때가 지났으나 우리는 구원받지 못하였다.'
  3. 내 백성이 상심하였으므로 나도 마음 아파하고 슬퍼하며 놀라움에 사로잡히는구나.
  4. 길르앗에는 약이 없는가? 그 곳에는 의사가 없는가? 어째서 내 백성은 치료를 받지 못하는가?
