창세기 16:1-17:27

 자식을 낳지 못하던 아브람의 아내 사래는 몸종 하갈을 통해 이스마엘을 낳게 했다. 아브람의 나이 99세 때, 하나님께서 아브람과 사래의 이름을 아브라함과 사라로 바꿀 것을 명하시고 언약의 후손 이삭이 태어날 것을 말씀하셨다. 그리고 집안의 모든 남자들에게 언약의 표인 할례를 시행하게 하셨다.
  
  이스마엘의 출생(16:1-16:16)    
 
  1. 아브람의 아내 사래는 생산치 못하였고 그에게 한 여종이 있으니 애굽 사람이요 이름은 하갈이라
  2. 사래가 아브람에게 이르되 여호와께서 나의 생산을 허락지 아니하셨으니 원컨대 나의 여종과 동침하라 내가 혹 그로 말미암아 자녀를 얻을까 하노라 하매 아브람이 사래의 말을 들으니라
  3. 아브람의 아내 사래가 그 여종 애굽 사람 하갈을 가져 그 남편 아브람에게 첩으로 준 때는 아브람이 가나안 땅에 거한지 십년 후이었더라
  4. 아브람이 하갈과 동침하였더니 하갈이 잉태하매 그가 자기의 잉태함을 깨닫고 그 여주인을 멸시한지라
  5. 사래가 아브람에게 이르되 나의 받는 욕은 당신이 받아야 옳도다 내가 나의 여종을 당신의 품에 두었거늘 그가 자기의 잉태함을 깨닫고 나를 멸시하니 당신과 나 사이에 여호와께서 판단하시기를 원하노라
  1. Now Sarai, Abram's wife had borne him no children, and she had an Egyptian maid whose name was Hagar.
  2. So Sarai said to Abram, "Now behold, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Please go in to my maid; perhaps I will obtain children through her." And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
  3. After Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram's wife Sarai took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to her husband Abram as his wife.
  4. He went in to Hagar, and she conceived; and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her sight.
  5. And Sarai said to Abram, "May the wrong done me be upon you I gave my maid into your arms, but when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her sight May the LORD judge between you and me."
  1. 아브람이 사래에게 이르되 그대의 여종은 그대의 수중에 있으니 그대의 눈에 좋은대로 그에게 행하라 하매 사래가 하갈을 학대하였더니 하갈이 사래의 앞에서 도망하였더라
  2. 여호와의 사자가 광야의 샘곁 곧 술 길 샘물 곁에서 그를 만나
  3. 가로되 사래의 여종 하갈아 네가 어디서 왔으며 어디로 가느냐 그가 가로되 나는 나의 여주인 사래를 피하여 도망하나이다
  4. 여호와의 사자가 그에게 이르되 네 여주인에게로 돌아가서 그 수하에 복종하라
  5. 여호와의 사자가 또 그에게 이르되 내가 네 자손으로 크게 번성하여 그 수가 많아 셀 수 없게 하리라
  1. But Abram said to Sarai, "Behold, your maid is in your power; do to her what is good in your sight." So Sarai treated her harshly, and she fled from her presence.
  2. Now the angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur.
  3. He said, "Hagar, Sarai's maid, where have you come from and where are you going?" And she said, "I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai."
  4. Then the angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress, and submit yourself to her authority."
  5. Moreover, the angel of the LORD said to her, "I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be too many to count."
  1. 여호와의 사자가 또 그에게 이르되 네가 잉태하였은즉 아들을 낳으리니 그 이름을 이스마엘이라 하라 이는 여호와께서 네 고통을 들으셨음이니라
  2. 그가 사람 중에 들나귀 같이 되리니 그 손이 모든 사람을 치겠고 모든 사람의 손이 그를 칠찌며 그가 모든 형제의 동방에서 살리라 하니라
  3. 하갈이 자기에게 이르신 여호와의 이름을 감찰하시는 하나님이라 하였으니 이는 내가 어떻게 여기서 나를 감찰하시는 하나님을 뵈었는고 함이라
  4. 이러므로 그 샘을 브엘라해로이라 불렀으며 그것이 가데스와 베렛 사이에 있더라
  5. 하갈이 아브람의 아들을 낳으매 아브람이 하갈의 낳은 그 아들을 이름하여 이스마엘이라 하였더라
  1. The angel of the LORD said to her further, "Behold, you are with child, And you will bear a son; And you shall call his name Ishmael, Because the LORD has given heed to your affliction.
  2. "He will be a wild donkey of a man, His hand will be against everyone, And everyone's hand will be against him; And he will live to the east of all his brothers."
  3. Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "You are a God who sees"; for she said, "Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?"
  4. Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
  5. So Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.
  1. 하갈이 아브람에게 이스마엘을 낳을 때에 아브람이 팔십 륙세이었더라
  1. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to him.
 
  언약의 표인 할례(17:1-17:27)    
 
  1. 아브람의 구십 구세 때에 여호와께서 아브람에게 나타나서 그에게 이르시되 나는 전능한 하나님이라 너는 내 앞에서 행하여 완전하라
  2. 내가 내 언약을 나와 너 사이에 세워 너로 심히 번성케 하리라 하시니
  3. 아브람이 엎드린대 하나님이 또 그에게 일러 가라사대
  4. 내가 너와 내 언약을 세우니 너는 열국의 아비가 될찌라
  5. 이제 후로는 네 이름을 아브람이라 하지 아니하고 아브라함이라 하리니 이는 내가 너로 열국의 아비가 되게 함이니라
  1. Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.
  2. "I will establish My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly."
  3. Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
  4. "As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And you will be the father of a multitude of nations.
  5. "No longer shall your name be called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
  1. 내가 너로 심히 번성케 하리니 나라들이 네게로 좇아 일어나며 열왕이 네게로 좇아 나리라
  2. 내가 내 언약을 나와 너와 네 대대 후손의 사이에 세워서 영원한 언약을 삼고 너와 네 후손의 하나님이 되리라
  3. 내가 너와 네 후손에게 너의 우거하는 이 땅 곧 가나안 일경으로 주어 영원한 기업이 되게 하고 나는 그들의 하나님이 되리라
  4. 하나님이 또 아브라함에게 이르시되 그런즉 너는 내 언약을 지키고 네 후손도 대대로 지키라
  5. 너희 중 남자는 다 할례를 받으라 이것이 나와 너희와 너희 후손 사이에 지킬 내 언약이니라
  1. "I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come forth from you.
  2. "I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.
  3. "I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."
  4. God said further to Abraham, "Now as for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.
  5. "This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: every male among you shall be circumcised.
  1. 너희는 양피를 베어라 이것이 나와 너희 사이의 언약의 표징이니라
  2. 대대로 남자는 집에서 난 자나 혹 너희 자손이 아니요 이방 사람에게서 돈으로 산 자를 무론하고 난지 팔일만에 할례를 받을 것이라
  3. 너희 집에서 난 자든지 너희 돈으로 산 자든지 할례를 받아야 하리니 이에 내 언약이 너희 살에 있어 영원한 언약이 되려니와
  4. 할례를 받지 아니한 남자 곧 그 양피를 베지 아니한 자는 백성 중에서 끊어지리니 그가 내 언약을 배반하였음이니라
  5. 하나님이 또 아브라함에게 이르시되 네 아내 사래는 이름을 사래라 하지 말고 그 이름을 사라라 하라
  1. "And you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and you.
  2. "And every male among you who is eight days old shall be circumcised throughout your generations, a servant who is born in the house or who is bought with money from any foreigner, who is not of your descendants.
  3. "A servant who is born in your house or who is bought with your money shall surely be circumcised; thus shall My covenant be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
  4. "But an uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant."
  5. Then God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.
  1. 내가 그에게 복을 주어 그로 네게 아들을 낳아주게 하며 내가 그에게 복을 주어 그로 열국의 어미가 되게 하리니 민족의 열왕이 그에게서 나리라
  2. 아브라함이 엎드리어 웃으며 심중에 이르되 백세 된 사람이 어찌 자식을 낳을까 사라는 구십세니 어찌 생산하리요 하고
  3. 아브라함이 이에 하나님께 고하되 이스마엘이나 하나님 앞에 살기를 원하나이다
  4. 하나님이 가라사대 아니라 네 아내 사라가 정녕 네게 아들을 낳으리니 너는 그 이름을 이삭이라 하라 내가 그와 내 언약을 세우리니 그의 후손에게 영원한 언약이 되리라
  5. 이스마엘에게 이르러는 내가 네 말을 들었나니 내가 그에게 복을 주어 생육이 중다하여 그로 크게 번성케 할찌라 그가 열 두 방백을 낳으리니 내가 그로 큰 나라가 되게 하려니와
  1. "I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her."
  2. Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Will a child be born to a man one hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?"
  3. And Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before You!"
  4. But God said, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
  5. "As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
  1. 내 언약은 내가 명년 이 기한에 사라가 네게 낳을 이삭과 세우리라
  2. 하나님이 아브라함과 말씀을 마치시고 그를 떠나 올라가셨더라
  3. 이에 아브라함이 하나님이 자기에게 말씀하신대로 이 날에 그 아들 이스마엘과 집에서 생장한 모든 자와 돈으로 산 모든 자 곧 아브라함의 집 사람 중 모든 남자를 데려다가 그 양피를 베었으니
  4. 아브라함이 그 양피를 벤 때는 구십 구세이었고
  5. 그 아들 이스마엘이 그 양피를 벤 때는 십 삼세이었더라
  1. "But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year."
  2. When He finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.
  3. Then Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all the servants who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's household, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the very same day, as God had said to him.
  4. Now Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
  5. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
  1. 당일에 아브라함과 그 아들 이스마엘이 할례를 받았고
  2. 그 집의 모든 남자 곧 집에서 생장한 자와 돈으로 이방 사람에게서 사온 자가 다 그와 함께 할례를 받았더라
  1. In the very same day Abraham was circumcised, and Ishmael his son.
  2. All the men of his household, who were born in the house or bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
