- 다섯째 천사가 나팔을 불었습니다. 내가 보니, 하늘에서 땅에 떨어진 별이 하나 있는데, 그 별은 아비소스를 여는 열쇠를 받았습니다.
- 그 별이 아비소스를 여니, 거기에서 큰 용광로의 연기와 같은 연기가 올라왔습니다. 그래서 해와 하늘이 그 구덩이에서 나온 연기 때문에 어두워졌습니다.
- 그리고 그 연기 속에서 메뚜기들이 나와서 땅에 퍼졌습니다. 그것들은, 땅에 있는 전갈이 가진 것과 같은 권세를 받아 가지고 있었습니다.
- 그것들은, 땅에 있는 풀이나 푸성귀나 나무는 하나도 해하지 말고, 이마에 하나님의 도장이 찍히지 않은 사람만을 해하라는 명령을 받았습니다.
- 그러나 그들에게는, 사람들을 죽이지는 말고, 다섯 달 동안 괴롭게만 하라는 허락이 내렸습니다. 그것들이 주는 고통은 마치 전갈이 사람을 쏠 때와 같은 고통이었습니다.

- The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss.
- When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.
- And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth.
- They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
- They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man.

- 그 기간에는 그 사람들이 죽으려고 애써도 죽지 못하고, 죽기를 원해도 죽음이 그들을 피하여 달아날 것입니다.
- 그 메뚜기들의 모양은 전투 채비를 한 말들과 같고, 머리에는 금 면류관과 같은 것을 쓰고, 그 얼굴은 사람의 얼굴과 같았습니다.
- 그리고 그것들은, 여자의 머리털 같은 머리털이 있고, 이빨은 사자의 이빨과 같고,

- During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.
- The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces.
- Their hair was like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth.
- They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle.
- They had tails and stings like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months.

- 그것들은 아비소스의 사자를 자기들의 왕으로 떠받들었는데, 그 이름은 히브리 말로는 아바돈이요, 그리스 말로는 아볼루온입니다.
- 첫째 재앙이 지나갔습니다. 그러나 아직도 두 가지 재앙이 더 닥쳐올 것입니다.

- They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.
- The first woe is past; two other woes are yet to come.
- The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the horns of the golden altar that is before God.
- It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."
- And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.

- 내가 들은 바로는 그 천사들이 거느린 기마대의 수는 이억이나 된다는 것입니다.
- 나는 이러한 환상 가운데서 말들과 그 위에 탄 사람들을 보았는데, 사람들은 화홍색과 청색과 유황색 가슴막이를 둘렀고, 말들은 머리가 사자의 머리와 같으며, 입에서는 불과 연기와 유황을 내뿜고 있었습니다.
- 그 입에서 나오는 불과 연기와 유황, 이 세 가지 재앙으로 사람의 삼분의 일이 죽임을 당하였습니다.
- 그 말들의 힘은 입과 꼬리에 있는데, 꼬리는 뱀과 같고, 또 꼬리에 머리가 달려 있어서, 그 머리로 사람을 해쳤습니다.
- 이런 재앙에서 죽지 않고 살아 남은 사람이 자기 손으로 한 일들을 회개하지 않고, 오히려 귀신들에게나, 또는 보거나 듣거나 걸어 다니지 못하는, 금이나 은이나 구리나 돌이나 나무로 만든 우상들에게, 절하기를 그치지 않았습니다.

- The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.
- The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur.
- A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.
- The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.
- The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood--idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
