- 주님께서는 이집트에서 포도나무 한 그루를 뽑아 오셔서, 뭇 나라를 몰아내시고, 그것을 심으셨습니다.
- 땅을 가꾸시고 그 나무의 뿌리를 내리게 하시더니, 그 나무가 온 땅을 채웠습니다.
- 산들이 그 포도나무 그늘에 덮이고, 울창한 백향목도 그 가지로 뒤덮였습니다.
- 그 가지는 지중해에까지 뻗고, 새 순은 유프라테스 강에까지 뻗었습니다.
- 그런데 어찌하여 주님께서는 그 울타리를 부수시고 길을 지나가는 사람마다 그 열매를 따먹게 하십니까?

- Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
- Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
- The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
- She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
- Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

- 멧돼지들이 숲에서 나와서 마구 먹고, 들짐승들이 그것을 먹어 치우게 하십니까?
- 만군의 하나님, 우리에게 돌아오십시오. 하늘에서 내려다보시고, 이 포도나무를 보살펴 주십시오.
- 주님의 오른손으로 심으신 이 줄기와 주님께서 몸소 굳세게 키우신 햇가지를 보살펴 주십시오.
- 주님의 포도나무는 불타고 꺾이고 있습니다. 주님의 분노로 그들은 멸망해 갑니다.
- 주님의 오른쪽에 있는 사람, 주님께서 몸소 굳게 잡아 주신 인자 위에, 주님의 손을 얹어 주십시오.

- The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
- Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
- And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
- It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
- Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

- 그리하면 우리가 주님을 떠나지 않을 것이니, 주님의 이름을 부를 수 있도록 우리에게 새 힘을 주십시오.
- 만군의 하나님, 우리를 회복시켜 주십시오. 우리가 구원을 받도록, 주님의 빛나는 얼굴을 나타내어 주십시오.

- So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
- Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
