예레미야 3:1-4:31

 하나님께서는 하나님을 떠나 우상을 숭배한 유다가 회개하고 돌아오면 그들을 용서하시고 복 주시겠다고 말씀하셨다. 그러나 유다는 이를 거부하고 회개하지 않아 하나님의 재앙을 초래하였다. 예레미야는 묵시를 통해, 임박한 재앙의 모습을 보고 슬퍼하였다.
  
  회개 촉구(3:1-3:25)    
 
  1. "세상 사람들은 말하기를 '어떤 남자가 아내를 버릴 때에, 그 여자가 남편에게서 떠나서 다른 남자의 아내가 되면, 그 여자가 본남편에게로 다시 되돌아갈 수 있느냐? 그렇게 되면, 그 땅이 아주 더러워지지 않느냐?' 한다. 그런데 너는 수많은 남자들과 음행을 하고서도, 나에게로 다시 돌아오려고 하느냐? 나 주의 말이다."
  2. "두 눈을 뜨고, 저 벌거숭이 언덕들을 바라보아라. 네가 음행을 하여 더럽히지 않은 곳이 어디에 있느냐? 사막에 숨어서 사람을 기다리다가 물건을 터는 유목민처럼, 너는 길거리마다 앉아서 남자들을 기다렸다. 너는 이렇게 네 음행과 악행으로 이 땅을 더럽혀 놓았다.
  3. 그러므로 이른 비가 오지 않고, 늦은 비도 내리지 않는데, 너는 창녀처럼 뻔뻔스러운 얼굴을 하고, 부끄러워하지도 않았다.
  4. 지금 너는 나를 '아버지'라고 부르면서, '오랜 친구'라고 하면서,
  5. '하나님은 끝없이 화를 내시는 분이 아니다. 언제까지나 진노하시는 분이 아니다' 하면서, 온갖 악행을 마음껏 저질렀다."
  1. They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
  2. Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
  3. Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
  4. Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
  5. Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
  1. 요시야 왕 때에 주님께서 또 나에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 저 배신한 이스라엘이 한 일을 보았느냐? 그가 높은 산마다 올라가서 음행을 하였고, 또 푸른 나무가 있는 곳마다 그 밑에서 음행을 하였다.
  2. 그래도 나는, 그가 이 모든 음행을 한 다음에 다시 나에게로 돌아오려니, 하고 생각하였다. 그러나 그는 끝내 돌아오지 않았다. 신실하지 못한 그의 아우 유다까지도 언니의 변절을 보았다.
  3. 유다는, 이스라엘이 나를 배신하고 음행을 하다가, 바로 그것 때문에 나에게서 내쫓기는 것과, 이혼장을 쥐고 내쫓기는 것을 보았다. 그러나 이 신실하지 못한 아우 유다가 두려운 줄도 모르고, 오히려 자기도 가서 음행을 하였다. 그것을 내가 직접 보았다.
  4. 그는 음행하는 것을 가벼운 일로 여겨, 그 땅을 더럽히고, 심지어 돌과 나무를 음란하게 섬겼다.
  5. 이런 온갖 음행을 하면서도, 배신한 자매 유다는, 건성으로 나에게 돌아온 척만 하고, 진심으로 돌아오지는 않았다. 나 주의 말이다."
  1. The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
  2. And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
  3. And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
  4. And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
  5. And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
  1. 주님께서 또 나에게 말씀하셨다. "비록 이스라엘이 나를 배신하였다고 하지만, 신실하지 못한 유다보다는 낫다.
  2. 너는 북쪽으로 가서, 이 모든 말을 선포하여라. 배신한 이스라엘아, 돌아오너라! 나 주의 말이다. 내가 다시는 노한 얼굴로 너를 대하지 않겠다. 나는 자비로운 하나님이다. 나 주의 말이다. 내가 노를 영원히 품지는 않겠다.
  3. 다만, 너는 너의 죄를 깨달아라. 너는 너의 주 하나님을 배반하고 떠나서, 푸른 나무마다 찾아 다니며, 그 밑에서 다른 신들에게 너의 몸을 내맡겼으며, 나에게 순종하지 않았다. 너는 이것을 깨달아라. 나 주의 말이다."
  4. "나를 배신한 자녀들아, 돌아오너라! 나 주의 말이다. 내가 너희의 보호자다. 내가 성읍마다 한 사람씩, 가문마다 두 사람씩 택하여, 너희를 시온 산으로 데려오겠다.
  5. 그 때에 내가 마음에 맞는 목자들을 너희에게 세워 주겠다. 그러면 그들이 지식과 훈계로 너희를 양육할 것이다.
  1. And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
  2. Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.
  3. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
  4. Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
  5. And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
  1. 그 때가 이르러서, 너희가 이 땅에서 번성하여 많아지면, 아무도 다시는 주의 언약궤를 말하지 않을 것이다. 나 주의 말이다. 그것을 다시는 마음 속에 떠올리지도 않을 것이며, 기억하거나 찾지도 않을 것이다. 그것이 필요도 없을 것이다.
  2. 그 때에는 누구나 예루살렘을 주의 보좌라고 부를 것이며, 뭇 민족이 그리로, 예루살렘에 있는 주 앞으로 모일 것이다. 그들이 다시는 자기들의 악한 마음에서 나오는 고집대로 살지 않을 것이다.
  3. 그 때에는 유다 집안과 이스라엘 집안이 하나가 되어서, 다 같이 북녘 땅에서 나와서, 내가 너희 조상에게 유산으로 준 땅으로 들어갈 것이다."
  4. "나는 스스로 이렇게 생각하였다. 내가 너희를 나의 자녀로 삼고, 너희에게 아름다운 땅을 주어서, 뭇 민족 가운데서 가장 아름다운 유산을 받게 하면, 너희가 나를 '아버지!'라고 부르며 나만을 따르고, 나를 떠나가지 않을 것이라고 생각하였다.
  5. 그런데, 이스라엘 백성아! 마치 남편에게 정절을 지키지 않은 여인처럼, 너희는 나를 배신하였다. 나 주의 말이다."
  1. And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
  2. At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
  3. In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
  4. But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
  5. Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
  1. 애타는 소리가 벌거숭이 언덕에서 들린다. 이스라엘 자손이 울부짖으면서 간구하는 소리다. 그들이 올곧은 길에서 벗어나고, 자기들의 하나님이신 주님을 잊었기 때문이다.
  2. "너희 변절한 자녀들아, 내가 너희의 변절한 마음을 고쳐 줄 터이니 나에게로 돌아오너라." "우리가 지금 주님께 돌아옵니다. 주님만이 주 우리의 하나님이십니다.
  3. 언덕에서 드리는 이교 제사가 쓸데없고, 산 위에서 드리는 축제의 제사가 우리를 구원하지 못합니다. 이스라엘의 구원은 진실로 주 우리의 하나님께만 있습니다.
  4. 옛부터 우리 조상이 애써서 얻은 모든 것을, 그 수치스러운 우상이 삼켜 버렸습니다. 우리 조상이 애써 모은 양 떼와 소 떼와 아들과 딸들을 모두 삼켜 버렸습니다.
  5. 그러므로 이제 우리는 수치를 요로 깔고, 부끄러움을 이불로 덮겠습니다. 우리 조상이 아득한 옛날부터 오늘날까지, 주 우리 하나님께 죄를 지었기 때문입니다. 주 우리 하나님께 순종하지 않았기 때문입니다."
  1. A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
  2. Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.
  3. Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
  4. For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
  5. We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.
 
  재난 예고(4:1-4:31)    
 
  1. "이스라엘아, 정말로 네가 돌아오려거든, 어서 나에게로 돌아오너라. 나 주의 말이다. 내가 싫어하는 그 역겨운 우상들을 내가 보는 앞에서 버려라. 네 마음이 흔들리지 않게 하여라.
  2. 네가 '주님의 살아 계심을 두고' 진리와 공평과 정의로 서약하면, 세계 만민이 나 주를 찬양할 것이고, 나도 그들에게 복을 베풀 것이다."
  3. "참으로 나 주가 말한다. 유다 백성과 예루살렘 주민아, 가시덤불 속에 씨를 뿌리지 말아라. 묵은 땅을 갈아엎고서 씨를 뿌려라.
  4. 유다 백성과 예루살렘 주민아, 너희는 나 주가 원하는 할례를 받고, 너희 마음의 포피를 잘라 내어라. 그렇지 않으면, 너희의 악한 행실 때문에, 나의 분노가 불처럼 일어나서 너희를 태울 것이니, 아무도 끌 수 없을 것이다."
  5. "너희는 유다에 알리고, 예루살렘에 선포하여라. 너희는 이 땅 방방곡곡에 나팔을 불어서 알리고, 큰소리로 외쳐서 알려라. '어서 모여서, 견고한 성으로 들어가자!' 하여라.
  1. If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
  2. And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.
  3. For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
  4. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
  5. Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.
  1. 시온으로 가는 길에 깃발을 세우며, 지체하지 말고 대피하여라. 내가 북쪽에서 재앙을 몰아와서, 크나큰 파멸을 끌어들이겠다.
  2. 사자가 일어나서 숲 속에서 뛰쳐 나오듯이, 세계 만민을 멸망시키는 자가 길을 나섰다. 그가 너의 땅을 황무지로 만들려고 제자리를 떴다. 이제 곧 너의 모든 성읍이 폐허가 되어, 주민이 없을 것이다."
  3. 그러므로 너희 이스라엘 백성아, 굵은 베 옷을 허리에 두르고 '과연 주님의 맹렬한 분노가 아직도 우리에게서 떠나가지 않았구나!' 하고 탄식하며, 슬피 울어라.
  4. "그 날이 오면, 왕이 용기를 잃고, 지도자들도 낙담하고, 제사장들도 당황하고, 예언자들도 소스라치게 놀랄 것이다. 나 주의 말이다."
  5. 그 때에 내가 이렇게 아뢰었다. "아, 주 나의 하나님, 진실로 주님께서 이 백성과 예루살렘을 완전하게 속이셨습니다. '예루살렘은 안전하다' 하셨으나, 이제는 칼이 목에 닿았습니다."
  1. Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.
  2. The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
  3. For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.
  4. And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.
  5. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.
  1. 그 때가 오면, 이 백성과 예루살렘이 이런 말을 들을 것이다. "소용돌이치는 열풍이 사막에서 불어온다! 나의 딸 나의 백성이 사는 곳으로 불어온다. 이 바람은 곡식을 키질하라고 부는 바람도 아니고, 알곡을 가려내라고 부는 바람도 아니다.
  2. 그것보다 훨씬 더 거센 바람이 나 주의 명을 따라 불어 닥칠 것이다." 백성에게 심판을 선언하시는 분은 바로 주님이시다.
  3. "적군이 먹구름이 몰려오듯 몰려오고, 그 병거들은 회오리바람처럼 밀려오며, 그 군마들은 독수리보다도 더 빨리 달려온다." "이제 우리는 화를 당하게 되었다. 우리는 망하였다."
  4. 예루살렘아, 네가 구원을 받으려면, 너의 마음에서 악을 씻어 버려라. 네가 언제까지 흉악한 생각을 너의 속에 품고 있을 작정이냐?
  5. "이미 단이 소리 친다. 에브라임 산이 재앙의 소식을 전하여 이르기를
  1. At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,
  2. Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.
  3. Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.
  4. O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?
  5. For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.
  1. '이 소식을 여러 나라에 알리고, 예루살렘에 전하여라. 적군이 먼 땅에서 몰려와서 에워싸고, 유다의 성읍들 쪽으로 전쟁의 함성을 지른다.
  2. 적군이 논밭지기들처럼, 사방으로 예루살렘을 둘러싼다. 그 도성이 주님께 반역하였기 때문이다' 한다. 나 주의 말이다."
  3. "너의 모든 길과 행실이 너에게 이러한 재앙을 불러왔다. 바로 너의 죄악이 너에게 아픔을 주었고, 그 아픔이 너의 마음 속에까지 파고들었다."
  4. 아이고, 배야. 창자가 뒤틀려서 견딜 수 없구나. 아이고, 가슴이야. 심장이 몹시 뛰어서, 잠자코 있을 수가 없구나. 나팔 소리가 들려 오고, 전쟁의 함성이 들려 온다.
  5. 재난에 재난이 꼬리를 물고 일어난다. 온 나라가 황무지가 된다. 홀연히 나의 천막집도 무너지고, 순식간에 나의 장막집도 찢긴다.
  1. Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.
  2. As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.
  3. Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
  4. My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
  5. Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
  1. 저 전쟁 깃발을 언제까지 더 바라보고 있어야 하는가? 저 나팔 소리를 언제까지 더 듣고 있어야만 하는가?
  2. "나의 백성은 참으로 어리석구나. 그들은 나를 알지 못한다. 그들은 모두 어리석은 자식들이요, 전혀 깨달을 줄 모르는 자식들이다. 악한 일을 하는 데에는 슬기로우면서도, 좋은 일을 할 줄 모른다."
  3. 땅을 바라보니, 온 땅이 혼돈하고 공허하다. 하늘에도 빛이 전혀 보이지 않는다.
  4. 산들을 바라보니, 모든 산이 진동하고, 모든 언덕이 요동한다.
  5. 아무리 둘러보아도 사람 하나 없으며, 하늘을 나는 새도 모두 날아가고 없다.
  1. How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?
  2. For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
  3. I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
  4. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
  5. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
  1. 둘러보니, 옥토마다 황무지가 되고, 이 땅의 모든 성읍이 주님 앞에서, 주님의 진노 앞에서, 허물어졌다.
  2. "나 주가 말한다. 내가 온 땅을 황폐하게는 하여도 완전히 멸망시키지는 않겠다.
  3. 이 일 때문에 온 땅이 애곡하고, 하늘이 어두워질 것이다. 나 주가 말하였으니, 마음을 바꾸지 않고, 취소하지 않겠다."
  4. "기병들과 활 쏘는 군인들의 함성에, 성읍마다 사람들이 도망하여 숲 속에 숨고, 바위 위로 기어올라간다. 이렇게 모두 성읍을 버리고 떠나니, 성읍에는 주민이 한 사람도 없다.
  5. 그런데 너 예루살렘아, 네가 망하였는데도, 네가 화려한 옷을 입고, 금패물로 몸단장을 하고, 눈화장을 짙게 하다니, 도대체 어찌된 셈이냐? 너의 화장이 모두 헛일이 될 것이다. 너의 연인들은 너를 경멸한다. 그들은 오직 너를 죽이려고만 한다."
  1. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
  2. For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
  3. For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.
  4. The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.
  5. And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.
  1. 나는 해산하는 여인의 진통 소리를 이미 들었다. 첫 아이를 낳는 여인처럼 신음하는 소리, 딸 시온이 몸부림 치는 소리다. 딸 시온이 손을 휘저으며 신음하는 소리다. '이제 나는 망하였구나. 그들이 나를 죽이려고 달려든다' 하는구나.
  1. For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
