- 내 아들아, 너는 내 지혜에 주의를 기울이고 내 명철에 너의 귀를 기울여서,
- 분별력을 간직하고, 네 입술로 지식을 굳게 지켜라.
- 음행하는 여자의 입술에서는 꿀이 떨어지고, 그 말은 기름보다 매끄럽지만,
- 그것이 나중에는 쑥처럼 쓰고, 두 날을 가진 칼처럼 날카롭다.
- 그 여자의 발은 죽을 곳으로 내려가고, 그 여자의 걸음은 스올로 치닫는다.

- My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:
- That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
- For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
- But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
- Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

- 그 여자는 생명의 길을 지키지 못하며, 그 길이 불안정해도 그것을 깨닫지 못한다.
- 내 아들아, 이제 너희는 내 말을 잘 들어라. 내가 하는 말에서 벗어나지 말아라.
- 네 길에서 그 여자를 멀리 떨어져 있게 하여라. 그 여자의 집 문 가까이에도 가지 말아라.
- 그렇지 않으면, 네 영예가 다른 사람에게 넘어가고, 네 아까운 세월을 포학자들에게 빼앗길 것이다.
- 다른 사람이 네 재산으로 배를 불리고, 네가 수고한 것이 남의 집으로 돌아갈 것이다.

- Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.
- Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
- Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
- Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
- Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;

- 마침내 네 몸과 육체를 망친 뒤에, 네 종말이 올 때에야 한탄하며,
- 말하기를 "내가 어찌하여 훈계를 싫어하였던가? 내가 어찌하여 책망을 멸시하였던가?
- 내가 스승에게 순종하지 않고, 나를 가르쳐 주신 분에게 귀를 기울이지 않고 있다가,
- 온 회중이 보는 앞에서 이런 처절한 재난을 당하는구나!" 할 것이다.

- And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
- And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
- And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
- I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
