- 미련한 사람은 화를 있는 대로 다 내지만, 지혜로운 사람은 화가 나도 참는다.
- 통치자가 거짓말에 귀를 기울이면, 그 신하들이 모두 악해진다.
- 가난한 사람과 착취하는 사람이 다 함께 살고 있으나, 주님은 이들 두 사람에게 똑같이 햇빛을 주신다.
- 왕이 가난한 사람을 정직하게 재판하면, 그의 왕위는 길이길이 견고할 것이다.

- The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
- A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
- If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
- The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.
- The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

- 매와 꾸지람은 지혜를 얻게 만들어 주지만, 내버려 둔 자식은 그 어머니를 욕되게 한다.
- 악인이 많아지면 범죄가 늘어나지만, 의인은 그들이 망하는 것을 보게 된다.
- 너의 자식을 훈계하여라. 그러면 그가 너를 평안하게 하고, 너의 마음에 기쁨을 안겨 줄 것이다.
- 계시가 없으면 백성은 방자해지나, 율법을 지키는 사람은 복을 받는다.
