- 말만으로는 종을 제대로 가르칠 수 없으니 다 알아들으면서도 따르지 않기 때문이다.
- 너도 말이 앞서는 사람을 보았겠지만, 그런 사람보다는 오히려 미련한 사람에게 더 바랄 것이 있다.
- 어릴 때부터 종의 응석을 받아 주면, 나중에는 다루기 어렵게 된다.
- 화를 잘 내는 사람은 다툼을 일으키고, 성내기를 잘하는 사람은 죄를 많이 짓는다.
- 사람이 오만하면 낮아질 것이고, 마음이 겸손하면 영예를 얻을 것이다.
