	창세기 22:1-23:20 하나님께서 아브라함의 믿음을 시험하시려고 이삭을 번제로 드릴 것을 명령하셨다. 아브라함이 이에 순종하여 모리아 산에서 이삭을 제물로 드리려 하자 하나님께서 그의 믿음을 인정하시고 준비된 수양을 드리게 하셨다. 사라가 죽은 후 아브라함은 그녀를 매장하기 위해 헷 족속 에브론으로부터 마므레 앞 막벨라 굴을 사서 소유 매장지로 삼고 사라를 장사했다.

	이삭을 제물로 드림(22:1-22:24)

이런 일이 있은 지 얼마 뒤에, 하나님이 아브라함을 시험해 보시려고, 그를 부르셨다. "아브라함아!" 하고 부르시니, 아브라함은 "예, 여기에 있습니다" 하고 대답하였다.

하나님이 말씀하셨다. "너의 아들, 네가 사랑하는 외아들 이삭을 데리고 모리아 땅으로 가거라. 내가 너에게 일러주는 산에서 그를 번제물로 바쳐라."

아브라함이 다음날 아침에 일찍이 일어나서, 나귀의 등에 안장을 얹었다. 그는 두 종과 아들 이삭에게도 길을 떠날 준비를 시켰다. 번제에 쓸 장작을 다 쪼개어 가지고서, 그는 하나님이 그에게 말씀하신 그 곳으로 길을 떠났다.

사흘 만에 아브라함은 고개를 들어서, 멀리 그 곳을 바라볼 수 있었다.

그는 자기 종들에게 말하였다. "내가 이 아이와 저리로 가서, 예배를 드리고 너희에게로 함께 돌아올 터이니, 그 동안 너희는 나귀와 함께 여기에서 기다리고 있거라."

Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."

He said, "Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you."

So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.

On the third day Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance.

Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you."

아브라함은 번제에 쓸 장작을 아들 이삭에게 지우고, 자신은 불과 칼을 챙긴 다음에, 두 사람은 함께 걸었다.

이삭이 그의 아버지 아브라함에게 말하였다. 그가 "아버지!" 하고 부르자, 아브라함이 "얘야, 왜 그러느냐?" 하고 대답하였다. 이삭이 물었다. "불과 장작은 여기에 있습니다마는, 번제로 바칠 어린 양은 어디에 있습니까?"

아브라함이 대답하였다. "얘야, 번제로 바칠 어린 양은 하나님이 손수 마련하여 주실 것이다." 두 사람이 함께 걸었다.

그들이, 하나님이 말씀하신 그 곳에 이르러서, 아브라함은 거기에 제단을 쌓고, 제단 위에 장작을 벌려 놓았다. 그런 다음에 제 자식 이삭을 묶어서, 제단 장작 위에 올려놓았다.

그는 손에 칼을 들고서, 아들을 잡으려고 하였다.

Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together.

Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." And he said, "Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"

Abraham said, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." So the two of them walked on together.

Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.

Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

그 때에 주님의 천사가 하늘에서 "아브라함아, 아브라함아!" 하고 그를 불렀다. 아브라함이 대답하였다. "예, 여기 있습니다."

천사가 말하였다. "그 아이에게 손을 대지 말아라! 그 아이에게 아무 일도 하지 말아라! 네가 너의 아들, 너의 외아들까지도 나에게 아끼지 아니하니, 네가 하나님 두려워하는 줄을 내가 이제 알았다."

아브라함이 고개를 들고 살펴보니, 수풀 속에 숫양 한 마리가 있는데, 그 뿔이 수풀에 걸려 있었다. 가서 그 숫양을 잡아다가, 아들 대신에 그것으로 번제를 드렸다.

이런 일이 있었으므로, 아브라함이 그 곳 이름을 여호와이레라고 하였다. 오늘날까지도 사람들은 '주님의 산에서 준비될 것이다'는 말을 한다.

주님의 천사가 하늘에서 두 번째로 아브라함을 불러서,

But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."

He said, "Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me."

Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son.

Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, "In the mount of the LORD it will be provided."

Then the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven,

말하였다. "주님의 말씀이다. 내가 친히 맹세한다. 네가 이렇게 너의 아들까지, 너의 외아들까지 아끼지 않았으니,

내가 반드시 너에게 큰 복을 주며, 너의 자손이 크게 불어나서, 하늘의 별처럼, 바닷가의 모래처럼 많아지게 하겠다. 너의 자손은 원수의 성을 차지할 것이다.

네가 나에게 복종하였으니, 세상 모든 민족이 네 자손의 덕을 입어서, 복을 받게 될 것이다."

아브라함이 그의 종들에게로 돌아왔다. 그들은 브엘세바 쪽으로 길을 떠났다. 아브라함은 브엘세바에서 살았다.

이런 일이 있은 지 얼마 뒤에, 아브라함은 밀가가 자식들을 낳았다는 말을 들었다. 밀가와 아브라함의 동생 나홀 사이에서 아들들이 태어났는데,

and said, "By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son,

indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies.

"In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham lived at Beersheba.

Now it came about after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, "Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor:

맏아들은 우스이고, 그 아래로 부스와 （아람의 아버지） 그므엘과

게셋과 하소와 빌다스와 이들랍과 브두엘과 같은 동생들이 태어났다.

브두엘은 리브가의 아버지이다. 이 여덟 형제는 아브라함의 동생 나홀과 그 아내 밀가 사이에서 태어났다.

나홀의 첩 르우마도 데바와 가함과 다하스와 마아가 등 네 형제를 낳았다.

Uz his firstborn and Buz his brother and Kemuel the father of Aram

and Chesed and Hazo and Pildash and Jidlaph and Bethuel."

Bethuel became the father of Rebekah; these eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah and Gaham and Tahash and Maacah.

	아브라함의 매장지(23:1-23:20)

사라는 백 년 하고도 스물일곱 해를 더 살았다. 이것이 그가 누린 햇수이다.

그는 가나안 땅 기럇아르바 곧 헤브론에서 눈을 감았다. 아브라함이 가서, 사라를 생각하면서, 곡을 하며 울었다.

아브라함은 죽은 아내 옆에서 물러나와서, 헷 사람에게로 가서 말하였다.

"나는 여러분 가운데서 나그네로, 떠돌이로 살고 있습니다. 죽은 나의 아내를 묻으려고 하는데, 무덤으로 쓸 땅을 여러분들에게서 좀 살 수 있게 해주시기를 바랍니다."

헷 족속 사람들이 아브라함에게 대답하였다.

Now Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years; these were the years of the life of Sarah.

Sarah died in Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan; and Abraham went in to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.

Then Abraham rose from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying,

"I am a stranger and a sojourner among you; give me a burial site among you that I may bury my dead out of my sight."

The sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,

"어른께서는 우리가 하는 말을 들어 보시기 바랍니다. 어른은, 하나님이 우리 가운데 세우신 지도자이십니다. 우리의 묘지에서 가장 좋은 곳을 골라서 고인을 모시기 바랍니다. 어른께서 고인의 묘지로 쓰시겠다고 하면, 우리 가운데서 그것이 자기의 묘 자리라고 해서 거절할 사람은 없습니다."

아브라함이 일어나서, 그 땅 사람들, 곧 헷 사람들에게 큰 절을 하고,

그들에게 말하였다. "여러분이, 내가 나의 아내를 이 곳에다 묻을 수 있게 해주시려면, 나의 청을 들어 주시고, 나를 대신해서, 소할의 아들 에브론에게 말을 전해 주시기 바랍니다.

그가 자기의 밭머리에 가지고 있는 막벨라 굴을 나에게 팔도록 주선하여 주시기 바랍니다. 값은 넉넉하게 쳐서 드릴 터이니, 내가 그 굴을 사서, 여러분 앞에서 그것을 우리 묘지로 삼도록 해주시기 바랍니다."

헷 사람 에브론이 마침 헷 사람들 틈에 앉아 있다가, 이 말을 듣고, 성문 위에 마을 회관에 앉아 있는 모든 헷 사람들이 듣는 데서 아브라함에게 대답하였다.

"Hear us, my lord, you are a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our graves; none of us will refuse you his grave for burying your dead."

So Abraham rose and bowed to the people of the land, the sons of Heth.

And he spoke with them, saying, "If it is your wish for me to bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and approach Ephron the son of Zohar for me,

that he may give me the cave of Machpelah which he owns, which is at the end of his field; for the full price let him give it to me in your presence for a burial site."

Now Ephron was sitting among the sons of Heth; and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the hearing of the sons of Heth; even of all who went in at the gate of his city, saying,

"그러실 필요가 없습니다. 제가 드리는 말씀을 들어 보시기 바랍니다. 제가 그 밭을 드리겠습니다. 거기에 있는 굴도 드리겠습니다. 나의 백성이 보는 앞에서, 제가 그것을 드리겠습니다. 거기에다가 돌아가신 부인을 안장하시기 바랍니다."

아브라함이 다시 한 번 그 땅 사람들에게 큰 절을 하고,

그들이 듣는 데서 에브론에게 말하였다. "좋게 여기신다면, 나의 말을 들으시기 바랍니다. 그 밭값을 드리겠습니다. 저에게서 그 값을 받으셔야만, 내가 나의 아내를 거기에 묻을 수 있습니다."

에브론이 아브라함에게 대답하였다.

"저의 말을 들어 보시기 바랍니다. 그 땅값을 친다면, 은 사백 세겔은 됩니다. 그러나 어른과 저 사이에 무슨 거래를 하겠습니까? 거기에다가 그냥 돌아가신 부인을 안장하시기 바랍니다."

"No, my lord, hear me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. In the presence of the sons of my people I give it to you; bury your dead."

And Abraham bowed before the people of the land.

He spoke to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, "If you will only please listen to me; I will give the price of the field, accept it from me that I may bury my dead there."

Then Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,

"My lord, listen to me; a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? So bury your dead."

아브라함은 에브론의 말을 따라서, 헷 사람들이 듣는 데서, 에브론이 밝힌 밭값으로, 상인들 사이에서 통용되는 무게로 은 사백 세겔을 달아서, 에브론에게 주었다.

그래서 마므레 근처 막벨라에 있는 에브론의 밭, 곧 밭과 그 안에 있는 굴, 그리고 그 밭 경계 안에 있는 모든 나무가,

마을 법정에 있는 모든 헷 사람이 보는 앞에서 아브라함의 것이 되었다.

그렇게 하고 나서, 비로소 아브라함은 자기 아내 사라를 가나안 땅 마므레 근처 곧 헤브론에 있는 막벨라 밭 굴에 안장하였다.

이렇게 하여, 헷 사람들은 그 밭과 거기에 있는 굴 묘지를 아브라함의 소유로 넘겨 주었다.

Abraham listened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed out for Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, commercial standard.

So Ephron's field, which was in Machpelah, which faced Mamre, the field and cave which was in it, and all the trees which were in the field, that were within all the confines of its border, were deeded over

to Abraham for a possession in the presence of the sons of Heth, before all who went in at the gate of his city.

After this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field at Machpelah facing Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

So the field and the cave that is in it, were deeded over to Abraham for a burial site by the sons of Heth.
