여호수아 11:1-12:24

 남부 지역의 패배 소식을 들은 가나안 북부 왕들이 연합군을 형성하여 메롬 물가에 진을 쳤으나, 이스라엘은 하나님의 도우심으로 그들을 진멸하고 북부 지역을 점령함으로써 가나안 전역을 차지했다. 이스라엘에게 패망한 이방 왕들의 명단을 기록함으로써 가나안 정복 기사를 끝맺었다.
  
  북부 가나안 정복(11:1-11:23)    
 
  1. 하솔 왕 야빈이 이 소식을 듣고, 마돈 왕 요밥과 시므론의 왕과 악삽의 왕과,
  2. 북방 산간지방과 긴네롯 남쪽 아라바와 평지와 서쪽으로 도르의 높은 지역에 사는 왕들과,
  3. 동서쪽의 가나안 사람과 아모리 사람과 헷 사람과 브리스 사람과 산간지방의 여부스 사람과 미스바 땅의 헤르몬 산 밑에 사는 히위 사람의 왕들에게 전갈을 보냈다.
  4. 이 왕들이 자기들의 군대를 모두 출동시켰는데, 그 군인의 수효가 마치 바닷가의 모래와 같이 많고, 말과 병거도 셀 수 없이 많았다.
  5. 이 왕들이 모두 만날 장소를 정하고, 이스라엘과 싸우려고 나와서, 메롬 물 가에 함께 진을 쳤다.
  1. Then it came about, when Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon and to the king of Shimron and to the king of Achshaph,
  2. and to the kings who were of the north in the hill country, and in the Arabah--south of Chinneroth and in the lowland and on the heights of Dor on the west--
  3. to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite at the foot of Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
  4. They came out, they and all their armies with them, as many people as the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots.
  5. So all of these kings having agreed to meet, came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
  1. 그 때에 주님께서 여호수아에게 말씀하셨다. "그들 앞에서 두려워하지 말아라. 내일 이맘 때에 내가 그들을 이스라엘 앞에서 다 죽이겠다. 너는 그들의 말 뒷발의 힘줄을 끊고, 그들의 병거를 불태워라."
  2. 여호수아는 자기를 따르는 모든 군인과 더불어 갑작스럽게 메롬 물 가로 들이닥쳐서, 그들을 덮쳤다.
  3. 주님께서 그들을 이스라엘의 손에 넘겨 주셨기 때문에, 이스라엘은 그들을 무찌르고, 큰 시돈과 미스르봇마임과, 동쪽으로 미스바 골짜기까지 추격하고, 살아 남은 사람이 한 사람도 없을 때까지 그들을 쳐서 죽였다.
  4. 여호수아는 주님께서 자기에게 명하신 대로 하여, 그들의 말 뒷발의 힘줄을 끊고 그들의 병거를 불살랐다.
  5. 그 때에 여호수아는 돌아서서 하솔을 점령하고, 그 왕을 칼로 쳤다. 그 때만 하여도 하솔은, 이들 왕국들 가운데에서 가장 강한 나라였다.
  1. Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow at this time I will deliver all of them slain before Israel; you shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire."
  2. So Joshua and all the people of war with him came upon them suddenly by the waters of Merom, and attacked them.
  3. The LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, so that they defeated them, and pursued them as far as Great Sidon and Misrephoth-maim and the valley of Mizpeh to the east; and they struck them until no survivor was left to them.
  4. Joshua did to them as the LORD had told him; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
  5. Then Joshua turned back at that time, and captured Hazor and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor formerly was the head of all these kingdoms.
  1. 그 하솔 성 안에 있는 모든 사람을, 전멸시켜서 바치는 희생제물로 삼아 칼로 쳤고, 호흡이 있는 사람은 하나도 남겨 두지 않았으며, 그 성은 불질렀다.
  2. 여호수아는 이 모든 왕의 도성을 점령하고, 그 왕들을 모두 잡아 칼로 쳐서, 주님의 종 모세의 명령을 따라 그들을 전멸시켜서 희생제물로 바쳤다.
  3. 그러나 이스라엘 사람들은, 여호수아가 불태운 하솔을 제외하고는, 언덕 위에 세운 성들을 하나도 불태우지 않았다.
  4. 이 성들에서 탈취한 노략물과 가축은 이스라엘 자손이 모두 차지하였고, 사람들만 칼로 쳐서 모두 죽이고, 숨쉬는 사람은 한 사람도 남겨 두지 않았다.
  5. 모세는 주님께서 자기에게 명하신 대로 여호수아에게 명하였고, 여호수아는 그대로 실행하여, 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 것 가운데서 실행하지 않고 남겨 둔 것은 하나도 없었다.
  1. They struck every person who was in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was no one left who breathed. And he burned Hazor with fire.
  2. Joshua captured all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; just as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded.
  3. However, Israel did not burn any cities that stood on their mounds, except Hazor alone, which Joshua burned.
  4. All the spoil of these cities and the cattle, the sons of Israel took as their plunder; but they struck every man with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They left no one who breathed.
  5. Just as the LORD had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD had commanded Moses.
  1. 이렇게 여호수아는 이 모든 땅 곧 산간지방과 네겝 지방과 모든 고센 땅과 평지와 아라바와 이스라엘의 산간지방과 평지를 다 점령하였다.
  2. 그리고 세일로 올라가서, 할락 산에서부터 헤르몬 산 아래 레바논 계곡에 있는 바알갓까지, 모든 왕을 사로잡아서 쳐죽였다.
  3. 여호수아는 여러 날 동안 이 모든 왕과 싸웠다.
  4. 기브온 주민인 히위 사람 말고는 이스라엘 자손과 화친한 성읍 주민이 하나도 없었다. 나머지 성읍은 이스라엘이 싸워서 모두 점령하였다.
  5. 여호수아가 이들 원주민을 조금도 불쌍하게 여기지 않고 전멸시켜서 희생제물로 바친 까닭은, 주님께서 그 원주민들이 고집을 부리게 하시고, 이스라엘에 대항하여 싸우다가 망하도록 하셨기 때문이다. 그래서 여호수아는, 주님께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로, 그들을 전멸시킨 것이다.
  1. Thus Joshua took all that land: the hill country and all the Negev, all that land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel and its lowland
  2. from Mount Halak, that rises toward Seir, even as far as Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon at the foot of Mount Hermon And he captured all their kings and struck them down and put them to death.
  3. Joshua waged war a long time with all these kings.
  4. There was not a city which made peace with the sons of Israel except the Hivites living in Gibeon; they took them all in battle.
  5. For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, to meet Israel in battle in order that he might utterly destroy them, that they might receive no mercy, but that he might destroy them, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
  1. 그 때에 여호수아가 가서, 산간지방과 헤브론과 드빌과 아납과 유다의 온 산간지방과 이스라엘의 온 산간지방에서 아낙 사람을 무찌르고, 그 성읍들을 전멸시켜서 희생제물로 바쳤다.
  2. 이스라엘 자손의 땅에서는, 오직 가사와 가드와 아스돗을 제외하고는, 아낙 사람으로서 살아 남은 사람이 하나도 없었다.
  3. 여호수아는, 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하신 대로, 모든 땅을 점령하고, 그것을 이스라엘 지파의 구분을 따라 유산으로 주었다. 그래서 그 땅에서는 전쟁이 그치고, 사람들은 평화를 누리게 되었다.
  1. Then Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab and from all the hill country of Judah and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.
  2. There were no Anakim left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod some remained.
  3. So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had spoken to Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes Thus the land had rest from war.
 
  정복당한 왕들(12:1-12:24)    
 
  1. 이스라엘 자손이 요단 강 동쪽 해 돋는 쪽 곧 아르논 골짜기에서부터 헤르몬 산까지, 동쪽 온 아라바를 무찌르고 점령하였는데, 그 땅의 왕들은 다음과 같다.
  2. 하나는 헤스본에 사는 아모리 사람의 왕 시혼이다. 그는 아르논 골짜기 끝에 있는 아로엘에서 골짜기 중간과 길르앗의 반쪽과 더 나아가서 암몬 자손의 경계인 얍복 강까지를 다스렸다.
  3. 그는 또한 아라바 동쪽 방면의 긴네롯 바다까지와 아라바의 바다, 곧 동쪽 방면의 사해, 벳여시못으로 통하는 길까지와 남쪽으로는 비스가 산 기슭까지 다스렸다.
  4. 또 하나는 바산 왕인 옥이다. 그는 르바 족 가운데서 살아 남아, 아스다롯과 에드레이에서 살고 있었다.
  5. 그는 헤르몬 산과 살르가와 온 바산과 그술 사람과 마아가 사람과 길르앗의 반쪽과, 그리고 더 나아가서 헤스본 왕 시혼이 다스리는 땅의 경계선까지 다스렸다.
  1. Now these are the kings of the land whom the sons of Israel defeated, and whose land they possessed beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the valley of the Arnon as far as Mount Hermon, and all the Arabah to the east:
  2. Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, both the middle of the valley and half of Gilead, even as far as the brook Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon;
  3. and the Arabah as far as the Sea of Chinneroth toward the east, and as far as the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward toward Beth-jeshimoth, and on the south, at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah;
  4. and the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of the remnant of Rephaim, who lived at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,
  5. and ruled over Mount Hermon and Salecah and all Bashan, as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half of Gilead, as far as the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.
  1. 이 두 왕은 바로 주님의 종 모세와 이스라엘 자손이 무찌른 사람들이다. 주님의 종 모세가 그 땅을 르우벤 지파와 갓 지파와 므낫세 반쪽 지파에게 주어서 소유로 삼도록 하였다.
  2. 여호수아와 이스라엘 자손이 요단 강 동쪽에 있는 서쪽 레바논 골짜기의 바알갓에서부터 세일로 올라가는 곳인 할락 산까지, 그 땅의 왕을 모두 무찔렀다. 여호수아가 이스라엘의 지파들에게 그 지파의 구분을 따라 그 땅을 나누어 주어서 가지게 하였다.
  3. 그 땅은 산간지방과 평지와 아라바와 경사지와 광야로서, 헷 사람과 아모리 사람과 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람과 히위 사람과 여부스 사람이 사는 남쪽에 있다.
  4. 그들이 무찌른 왕들은 다음과 같다. 여리고 왕이 하나, 베델 근처의 아이 왕이 하나,
  5. 예루살렘 왕이 하나, 헤브론 왕이 하나,
  1. Moses the servant of the LORD and the sons of Israel defeated them; and Moses the servant of the LORD gave it to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh as a possession.
  2. Now these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the sons of Israel defeated beyond the Jordan toward the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon even as far as Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir; and Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions,
  3. in the hill country, in the lowland, in the Arabah, on the slopes, and in the wilderness, and in the Negev; the Hittite, the Amorite and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite:
  4. the king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;
  5. the king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;
  1. 야르뭇 왕이 하나, 라기스 왕이 하나,
  2. 에글론 왕이 하나, 게셀 왕이 하나,
  3. 드빌 왕이 하나, 게델 왕이 하나,
  4. 호르마 왕이 하나, 아랏 왕이 하나,
  5. 립나 왕이 하나, 아둘람 왕이 하나,
  1. the king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;
  2. the king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;
  3. the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;
  4. the king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;
  5. the king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;
  1. 막게다 왕이 하나, 베델 왕이 하나,
  2. 답부아 왕이 하나, 헤벨 왕이 하나,
  3. 아벡 왕이 하나, 랏사론 왕이 하나,
  4. 마돈 왕이 하나, 하솔 왕이 하나,
  5. 시므론므론 왕이 하나, 악삽 왕이 하나,
  1. the king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;
  2. the king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;
  3. the king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;
  4. the king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;
  5. the king of Shimron-meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;
  1. 다아낙 왕이 하나, 므깃도 왕이 하나,
  2. 게데스 왕이 하나, 갈멜의 욕느암 왕이 하나,
  3. 도르 언덕의 도르 왕이 하나, 길갈의 고임 왕이 하나,
  4. 디르사 왕이 하나이다. 이 왕들은 모두 서른한 명이다.
  1. the king of Taanach, one; the king of Megiddo, one;
  2. the king of Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam in Carmel, one;
  3. the king of Dor in the heights of Dor, one; the king of Goiim in Gilgal, one;
  4. the king of Tirzah, one: in all, thirty-one kings.
